Merry Monday #13

Is it Christmas yet?   Wow, not even close and I have a bunch of cards already!  Another Merry Monday:)  This is only the first of several cards I’m making with this sketch from Merry Monday, over at Always Playing with Paper:

I had a few ideas, but this is the first finished card:

Once again, Fred She Said is my center image:)  I used some sheet music from here,  and I put the tint down to 60 percent in my Print Shop program.  I used some Stampin’ Up! products that I will list in my supply list below.  The red music symbol was in my stash from Christmas past.  I think I got it at the Dollar Store.

I hope you come back to see what else I make with this sketch:)  I know at least one of them will be a “different” kind of Christmas;)

Thanks for coming by:)  I hope you like my card:)

Merry Monday #12

It’s another Merry Monday Challenge:)  I am really enjoying making my Christmas cards every week:)  I hope you aren’t getting tired of them:(  I made another card with these colors and I really like it, so I used the same colors again.  This is a very simple card.  I’m hoping it looks elegant too;)  Here is the sketch for this week at Merry Monday:

Here is the card I made:

For this card I used SU Basic Black , embossing with a Sizzix folder that has holly & berries.  I’m sorry, I don’t remember the name:(  They seem to use strange names sometimes.  I used SU Real Red with Whisper White die cut “Holly Vine” from Memory Box.  I used White Bakers Twine, also from Stampin’ Up! to tie my bow.  Last, I added some gems that I got from Michaels.

How simple is that?  It actually looks better in person:)  I popped up the Real Red with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I will add a greeting later…..maybe.  I kind of like my greetings on the inside;)

I’m glad you could come by today.  I hope you will give this sketch a try, it doesn’t have to be Christmas;)  I hope you’ll stop by again:)

Friday Mashup # 50 with Fred She Said

Ok, here is a really Simply Made Card.  I used the sketch of the week from Friday Mashup.  You can use the sketch, the Mother of Pearl technique, or “Mash it up” and use both.  I just used the sketch, here it is:

Here is my card:

Isn’t she cute?  It’s a new image from Fred She Said🙂  I did NOT color this myself!  That’s one of the reasons this card is so Simply Made:)  I bought the pre-colored version.  I printed it out on my home printer, sized just the way I wanted it.  I cut it out with Stampabilities, Nestabilities Ovals, and Scalloped Ovals.  I used a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, and dotted paper from Stampin’ Up!  The ribbon I just had in my stash of craft items, and the purple paper is retired Stampin’ Up! Lavender Lace.

I’m glad you could stop by today:)  Tomorrow is Merry Monday:)  Hope to see you then:)

Merry Monday #11

Yes, it’s Merry Monday:)!  You’ll be seeing that title a lot because I will be working on a Christmas card every week until it’s time to mail them out;)  I guess all I needed was some encouragement to get my Christmas cards started.  Now it just seems silly to wait until Sept. or Oct.

I love Fred She Said!  I have a ton of her images and I could probably make a different card each week:)  I do have to tell you that I DID NOT color this image!  Tracey does a wonderful job of coloring;) !  This image is called “Winter Chickadee“.  She also has a Cardinal.  Anyone who knows me is just waiting for me to start with Cardinals.  I’m sure I will me making quite a few!

Here is this weeks sketch:

Here is my card:

This card includes some of my favorite things.  I love Fred She Said, I love Chickadees, I love SU Petals A Plenty, and I love my Memory Box Snowflake Die!  Wow, that’s a lot of my favorite things on one card:) !  I hope you like it:)  My supply list is short today.

Merry Monday #10

Another Merry Monday! 🙂   I hope you are enjoying all the Christmas cards:)  You can always head over to my other blog if you’re getting tired of Christmas cards;)

First off, I have to say that I did NOT color this image myself!  I usually buy the pre-colored images from Fred She Said.  This image is Fred She Said-Emma The Hugger – Snowman Edition.  First I will show you the sketch this week.

Now my card:

On the green paper, I used VersaMark ink which is clear and sticky.  I stamped it directly onto the Lucky Limeade and it looks like a color.  The snowflakes are a template from Memory Box called Frosty Border.  It’s actually longer, I cut the last snowflake on the left off and put it under the star looking snowflake.  I’m liking the way it looks:) I don’t know if you can tell, but I added some SU Dazzling Details to the fur on Emma’s coat and hat, also to the snow and little tiny snowflakes in the image.

I don’t think I would have ever used these two colors together if “Fred” hadn’t used similar colors, I’m liking the way this looks too:)

Supplies all Stampin’ Up! unless noted

Stamps-Serene Snowflakes

Paper-Lucky Limeade, Pacific Point

Ink– VersaMark

Misc– Dazzling Details, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Rhinestones

Something different-cut and fold templates

I wanted to show you a couple of cards that I made using cut & fold templates.  The template I used for these two cards are from POP UPs  Etc.  I started making this kind of card about 5 years ago using Lace’ (lay-say) templates.  Sadly, they no longer make Lace’ templates:(  Lucky for me, I bought a bunch before they stopped making them:)  POP UPs Etc. has a nice substitute.   I used template #6.

I also used flowers from Fred She Said.  They are pre-colored.  I DID NOT COLOR THEM MYSELF.  Really, the store owner, Tracey, sells images she colors and also images you can color yourself.  Since I don’t color that well, I like to buy the pre-colored versions.  I do have some that aren’t colored, and I’m sure I will use them, just not now;)

I made one in Blue, (my favorite color).

And, one in pink:

I used Peel-Offs from POP-UPs. Peel-Offs are the silver stickers I used to outline  the center image area.  They also come in gold and some other colors.  They are really easy to use and look like silver or gold heat embossing.  You can get borders, like here, corners, words, even images.  I’ll show some other versions at a later date:)

The templates do take some practice, and the paper thickness needs to be just right, but it’s a beautiful technique:)

I hope you enjoyed viewing something different today:)  Thanks for coming by:)

Freshly Made #24

Well bummer, it feels like Winter again:(  It snowed about 4 to 6 inches yesterday and today it’s windy and cold!  At least the sun is shining and that makes me think of Spring! 🙂  So for today, we are leaving Christmas cards behind and thinking Spring:)   I made two cards again, and I’m actually working on a third.  I start putting colors together and just can’t decide which one I like better.

The card I made for today is for the Freshly Made Challenge. Be sure to pop over there and see what everyone else has made:) Here is the sketch for this week:

This is the card I’m going to enter into the challenge.  I DID NOT color these images!

I really like the other one I made too, here it is:

These cards are really “simply made”.  The images are from Fred She Said, it’s called Peony in a Jar.  I DID NOT color these images!  You can buy them to color yourself, but I like the pre-colored versions.  They actually go really well with my Stampin’ Up! papers:) I do like my Clean and Simple (CAS) designs.  It’s not that I don’t like cards with lots of “extras”, it’s just hard to mail them;)

For my supply list today, I used all Stampin’ Up! except:

Fred She Said images,  a misc. rubber stamp, Spellbinder Nestabilities, ovals & rectangles

Stampin’ Up! Supplies

Paper-So Saffron, Soft Suede, DSP Patterns Stack Brights Tangerine Tango

Garden Green, Melon Mambo, DSP Patterns Stack Brights Daffodil Delight

Ink– Soft Suede

Misc-Pearls, Eyelet Border Punch

I’m glad you could come by today:)  I hope you enjoy my cards:)
