Merry Monday Challenge #30

It’s another Merry Monday!! 🙂  I love Christmas cards!!:)  I’m so happy that I can play over at Always Playing With Paper!  This is Challenge #30.  Here is this weeks sketch:

I used to really dislike red, I don’t know why, because I love Cardinals.  Anyway, it doesn’t seem to bother me as much as I get “older”.  Blue is still my favorite color, but I am much more tolerant about other colors:)  Here is my card this week, you can click on it to make it larger:

I did NOT color this image myself!  I used a pre colored image from Fred She Said, called Emma the Hugger-Snowman Edition.  It comes with paper, but I used the paper from the FSS – Christmas Papers 1 – 2009. The set also includes some sentiments, like the one I used.

I’m going to keep it short today.  I have a cold and I still need to set up my blog for a FSS Blog Hop that starts tomorrow.  Be sure to come back to see what I’ve made and you’ll have a chance to win prizes! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today:)  Have a great weekend!

For my first card, I used a pre colored digital image from Fred She Said called, Blue Jay & Raspberries Coloured SET.  The paper I used is also from the store, but not included in the set.  The paper pack is called, FSS-BMD Yummy Delights Digital Papers SET.  It has lots of yummy papers:)

I used my Spellbinders Scalloped Oval set behind the bird, in Stampin’ Up! Real Red,  and the Classic Oval set to cut out the main image.  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! set Swrils & Curls Verses, a retired Hostess set.

I popped up the bird with Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Dimensionals, as well as my sentiment.  The ribbon is Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point. I used S’U! Crystal Effects to highlight the berries on the main image, it makes them shiny and raised up a little bit.   Please scroll down after reading to see the next card:)

Your secret word on my blog is Surprise!
Your next stop on the hop is FSS Challenge Blog –

I did NOT color this image!  I love the pre colored images at Fred She Said!  This is one of the newer images called, Hibiscus.  It comes in 6 beautiful colors, or you can just get the digi and color it yourself:)  I paired it up with my Stampin’ Up! supplies and I’m pretty pleased with myself.  I hope you like it too:)
I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red as my background, white cardstock cut with S’U! Adorning Accents Edgelits, and on top of that I used Garden Green and a retired S’U! punch called Lace Ribbon Border.  The stamp is from Stampin’ Up! retired set Wonderful Words II.

Friday Mashup Challenge #72

I’ve started making more “Fall” cards, but I wanted to show you this pretty, Spring-like card in Stamin’ Up! Subtle colors:)  This card is for the Friday Mashup Challenge #72.

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:

  1. Make a project with “the Sketch”.
  2. Or Make a project w/ a “flower or multiple flowers”.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a project w/ “the Sketch and a flower or multiple flowers”.

I didn’t use the sketch this week, I haven’t included it here, so not to confuse anyone;) Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

I got the idea for this card by watching the video for Triple Time Stamping.  You’ve probably heard me say before, I don’t color well, so I like to use pre colored digital images.  This image is from Fred She Said, and it’s from a set called Daisies & Ladybugs.  Of course, I did it differently than the video;)  You can find my instructions here.

I cut it out per the instructions above, and layered it with Stampin’ Up! Baja Breeze, and So Saffron.  I love the way it came out, nice and soft:) I used part of a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Swirls & Curls Verses.  It has a little bird on it, but I  used my Basic Black SU marker, and only colored the wording.  The bird wasn’t going to fit my shape

Thanks for stopping by today:)  I’ll be back soon, I have at least 2 more sketches waiting for me on my work desk;)  Have a great week! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #48

Oh, my, it’s so late, but I know I won’t get to this in the morning:(  This is my card for Freshly Made Sketches #48.  Here is their sketch:

Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

I don’t know if you can see all the details on this card.  The main image  is a pre colored digital image from Fred She Said. The set is called PreColoured – Fall Flowers & Paper Pricking Template Sheet. (Yep, I copied and pasted that)  The set comes with the pricking pattern.  I didn’t prick it because I made the pattern a little small and the holes were too close together:(  I did, however, print an extra flower, cut it out and layered it with Stampin’ Up! Mini Glue Dots.  I just felt the Stampin’ Dimensionals would be too high.

My papers include Stampin’ Up! So Saffron, Tempting Turquoise, and Early Espresso.  If you click on the card and make it larger, you can see I did do some pricking on the Tempting Turquoise.  I used the new Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack from Stampin’ Up!  I used some pearls and some misc. ribbon from Michaels (bought a couple years ago).

Now I have to be off to bed, early day tomorrow;)

Thanks for coming by to see what I’m up to:)  See you soon, I’m working on a few more cards! 🙂  Have a great week!

Merry Monday #28

I’m so excited, I love making Christmas cards! This card is for the Merry Monday Challenge over at Always Playing With Paper. This one is a little different, it’s almost all digital. Here’s the sketch for this weeks challenge:

Simple right?  I thought so too, but I really had to think about what I wanted to do.  Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Now when I make a digital card, I print out my digital images and then use them just like regular paper.  The main image is digital from Raspberry Road Designs, it’s called Joy of Christmas.  I also used one of their background papers, also from the Joy of Christmas collection.

I use Print Shop for almost everything.  First I added the paper and then layered on the main image.  I printed it on my printer and cut it out.  I layered that onto Stampin’ Up! Basic Black, then onto SU Real Red.  I glued the whole thing onto plain white cardstock, that you can’t see;)  Finally, I used a stamp from Stampin’ Up! set Come to Bethlehem.   I cut out two strips of paper, one Basic Black and stamped on the Very Vanilla.  These little banners seem to be very popular right now.  I find them difficult to cut just right:(  This one looks pretty good, if I say so myself;)

I love anything with Cardinals!  This image really caught my eye!  I hope you like it as well:)  Check out the Raspberry Road Blog, they often have freebies:)

Thanks for stopping by:)  I hope I’m not overloading you with cards.

Top Tip Tuesday

I will be a guest designer at Top Tip Tuesday this week:)  One of the sponsors will be Fred She Said!  Not only does Tracey have beautiful digital art, a lot of it’s pre colored!  Yeah for me!  I don’t color well:(  Whether you’re like me, or you love to color, the choice is yours at Fred She Said!  This week you have a chance to win a great prize to the Fred She Said store, so be sure to check out Top Tip Tuesday!

I have two cards today, one is for the guest spot and one is because I just love FSS!  Here’s the card I made to guest, you can click on it to make it larger:

I did NOT color this myself!  This is  pre colored digital art from Fred She Said, called Daisies & Ladybugs.   Do you love that background?  Well, I’m going to tell you about a freebie in a few minutes;)  I love the Daisies & Ladybug set!  If you look through my blog, you will find a number of cards with this set:)

I’ve only made a few one layer cards, and this is one of them.  Digital images are great for one layer cards!  I hope you will join the challenge for a chance to win the Fred She Said prize!

Now for my second card, you can click on it to make it larger:

This is NOT my original design!  I found a card over at SplitCoastStampers and had to CASE it!  (Copy And Share Everything) First I copied it and now I’m sharing it:)  For the original card, please click here. The original card is much more vintage, I’m more CAS (Clean And Simple).  After making it, I think my image is too small, I’ll change that if I make another;)

Here is that lovely background paper!  This image is also Fred She Said, called Wistful Emma or Bride. If you click on the title, it will take you to the store where you will find Emma, and if you scroll down, you will find the background Freebie! (you can also click “Freebie”)

Wistful Emma comes in a number of different colors, or you can color her yourself, if you just want to;)  LOL  Supplies will be listed below.

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you all have a great week!  See you soon:)
