Stamping 411 #268

This is a copy of my post over at my Stampin’ Up! blog.  I know some of you don’t visit that blog, but I just love this card! 🙂

This card if for the Saturday Sketch Challenge #268 over at Stamping 411.  Here is their sketch:

Here is my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Wow, I love that glimmer paper!  Did I use the scrap left over when I cut a shape?  Yep, I did;)  I’ve never done this before, but I think I like it:)  I think it gives the card a very dramatic look.

I used all Stampin’ Up! products that will be in my supply list below.  For the main image, I did use the left over from a cut out shape.  I used the Framelits-Labels Collection (125598).  I used regular tape to make them stay together, and then glued them on  a scrap piece of cardstock with Tombow glue.  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up.

The image is from the Beautiful Season stamp set (122682), I used the cling set.  For the sentiment, I also used the Beautiful Season set, I just used part of one of the sentiment stamps. The whole sentiment reads “May your season be blessed with all things bright & beautiful”.  Obviously to large to fit my banner;)

Thank you all for coming by!  I hope to see you again soon!

All Supplies are Stamin’ Up!

Friday Mashup Challenge #71

Some weeks are more stressful than others:(  I actually tend to make more cards when I’m stressed.  I can’t sleep, so  I’m up making cards;)  Last night, very late, it occurred to me that I could combine the World of Crafters sketch challenge and the Friday Mashup Challenge.  I started it last night and finished today:)  Hope you like it:)

Here’s the Friday Mashup info:

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:
  1. Make a project using ” Black N’ White Only .”
  2. Or Make a project with ” Some Bling “.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a ” Black N’ White Project with some Bling! “

I decided to “Mash it Up”, my card is B&W plus Bling.  Here’s the sketch I used:

I flipped it up and down and came out with this card.  You can click on it to make it larger, hopefully then you can see the subtle embossing:

Wow, what didn’t I use for this card?  First off, I used a digital image from Fred She Said called Christmas Ornaments.  It’s actually a B&W Digi.  Something I didn’t need to color;) lol  Of course, you could color it if you wanted to:)  The white background is embossed with a Spellbinders Impressabilities plate.  First time I’ve used it.  The embossing is very subtle, it’s snowflakes.

Here are two links I found with instructions:  here  and here.

I used Stampin’ Up! papers that I will have in my supply list, as well as other misc. supplies.

Thank you for visiting, I know I’ve had a lot of posts this week!  See you soon:)

My instructions for Triple Time Stamping

I had a request for photos on how I made this card:

My original post is here. I made my card a little differently than the instructions given.  Instead of stamping, I got a pre colored digital image from Fred She Said.  I used Pumpkins & Sunflowers Digi and COL.  I used Print Shop and sized it to about 5 1/4 x 4.

Then I made a clear template 5 1/4 x 4 so I could decide where to cut.

I cut my image to  5 1/4 x 4.

Next I made a template 4 1/4 x 3 and centered it on the remaining image.  I used my craft knife to cut all the way around the template.

I made a second template and cut the next layer 3 1/4 x 2, leaving a center piece.

I cut my background pieces, 5 1/2 x 4 1/4–4 1/2 x 3 1/4–3 1/2 x 2 1/4.  You can click on the image and make it larger to see the dimensions on the papers.

Then all you have to do is stack them up:)  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals between the 2nd and 3rd layers. I used SU Tombow glue for the rest, it gives you a few seconds to make adjustments, is needed.  The plaid paper is a freebie from Fred She Said, here.  I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green and the bottom layer is also SU, Early Espresso.

I hope this easier to understand with the photos:)  Please let me know if you have any more questions:)

World of Crafters sketch challenge August 2012

OMGoodness, I struggled with this sketch too!  I don’t like these little stripes of paper:(  They seem to be very popular right now!

World of Crafters is a craft site that you need a membership for, but it’s free:)  The members there are very friendly and helpful!  There are tons of things to do there besides general cards.  If you’ve ever wanted to try Iris Folding or Tea Bag Folding, this is the place to go! There is a room for ATCs, Scrapbooking and General crafts!  Too much to post here, feel free to go have a look at World of Crafters:) !

Now for that troubling sketch;)

I didn’t add my sentiment yet.  I did NOT color this image myself!  I used a pre colored digital image from Fred She Said. Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

This FSS set is called COLOURED PANSIES SETS.  There are two different sets, a blue one and a purple one.  Included in the set are  some digital papers and some beautiful pansies in a tea cup!  All my colored papers are from Stampin’ Up!  I’ll have all my colors in the supply list below.

Oooops, almost forgot, here are the un-colored images, in case you like to color your own.  FSS un-colored Pansies.

I’m glad you could stop by today:)  Have a great weekend!

Freshly Made #47

It’s Freshly Made Sketches today:)  I really struggled with this sketch!   I’m not very good with little pieces of paper:(   Here’s sketch #47:

See those 3 little pieces of paper?  I can’t tell you how many times I changed them!  AND the background cardstock!  I finally settled on Night of Navy from Stampin’ Up! for the background cardstock.  Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

I did NOT color these images myself!  They are pre colored. I love this set from Fred She Said called Daisies & Ladybugs DIGI & Pre-Coloured SET.  This set has so many possibilities!  I used the plain daisy and removed the stem in Print Shop, then I duplicated it and made my own background paper:)  How cool is that?  The flower actually does come with the ladybugs, but I needed the ladybugs to be in a different place than the original, so I used Print Shop again and took the plain daisy and the stand alone ladybugs and placed everything where I wanted it to be.

Yes, I use Print Shop a lot, but it’s really so easy to use!

My other papers are all Stampin’ Up!  The cute little frame around the flower is also SU called Designer Frames Folders.  I think it just makes the flower POP!

Thanks for coming by today!  I’m going to have a couple more cards this week, so watch for them:)

Merry Monday #27

Here we are, another Merry Monday🙂 !  I love Merry Monday, I am so going to be done with my Christmas cards this year!  🙂   Here’s this weeks sketch:

Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

I have to say the photo just doesn’t do justice to this card:(   I used Glimmer Paper, and Shimmery White Cardstock from Stampin’ Up!  This card feels very elegant in person:)  I did NOT color this image myself!  Once again, I have used a pre colored digital image from Fred She Said.  This image is called Christmas Poinsettia Lantern COL & Digi Set.  It comes with white and red Poinsettias, the background writing, and several sentiments.

I printed the image and the background writing on the SU Shimmery White Cardstock.  Behind the black, is the Glimmer Paper.  I love both of these!  I used Stampin’ Up! ribbon with a gem brad from Hobby Lobby.  I’m really pleased with this card, I think I was in a green/red rut!  I do love traditional colors, but it’s nice to do something different now and then;)

Thanks for coming by today!  Be sure to pop over to Merry Monday at Always Playing with Paper, there are plenty more cards to see! 🙂

Sentimental Sunday Challenge #114: Fall

Here’s a new challenge for me over at Sentimental Sunday.  Fred She Said is sponsoring the challenge and there is a prize for a $15.00 gift card to the  Fred She Said store up for grabs! 🙂   The theme is Fall so I made a card to put you all in the mood:)  You can click on it to make it larger and then you can see the little lady bug down on the left in the sentiment circle:

I did NOT color this image myself!  I used a precolored  digital image from Fred She Said called Pumpkins & Sunflowers Digi and COL.  I used a new technique I saw from Stampin’ Up! called  “Triple Time Stamping“.  No, I didn’t stamp, I used this beautiful image instead.  I love how it came out!  On the sentiment circle, I used one of the cute little lady bugs found in the new Daisies & Ladybugs DIGI & Pre-Coloured SET.  I love the Daisy set and why not use the lady bug, it’s so cute!?

For the green layers I used Garden Green from Stampin’ Up!, I also used Early Espresso for the back.  The plaid paper is a freebie from Fred She Said🙂  Head over to Sentimental Sunday for your chance to win the Fred She Said gift card! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today:)  I hope you have a great week! 🙂

If you have questions regarding supplies, please ask:)

Friday Mashup Challenge #70

I decided to join the Friday Mashup Challenge.  Here are their challenge rules:

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:
  1. Make a project with a “Stick Pin on it.”
  2. Or Make a “Vintage” project.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a “Vintage project with a Stick Pin on it.”

I don’t “do” Vintage, don’t know how.  I have considered using stick pins, but wasn’t sure how to make them work.  I really like this card, but I’m not sure about the stick pin.  I will gladly accept advise on this.

I did NOT color this image myself! This card uses a beautiful digital image by Fred She Said called “Peony in a Jar – 8 Colours Set” .  It also comes un-colored here. I cut out a second set of leaves and the flower, I popped up the flower with SU Dimensionals, the leaves I let fall over the edge of the white.  The stick pin is from Stampin’ Up!

Here is my card:

Thanks for stopping by today:)  Have a great week!

Friday Mashup Challenge #69 with Fred She Said

It’s a brand new month (Aug.), but I still have one more challenge left over from July.  It’s the Friday Mashup Challenge #69. It’s a Christmas in July challenge:)  You know I love my Christmas cards;)

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:

  1. Make a project “For Christmas.”
  2. Or Make a “Greeting Card & Decorate the Inside.”
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a “Christmas Card & Decorate the Inside.”

I decided to Mash it Up and create a  “Christmas Card & Decorate the Inside.”      Here is my card:

And here is the inside. It says “May Your Holidays be Filled With Love & Mayhem!”

I did NOT color these images myself!  They are pre-colored digital images from Fred She Said called Christmas Rosey DIGI & COL Set.  The set includes both images. The background paper with the stripe is from  FSS – Christmas Papers 1 – 2009.  The dotted paper came from Christmas Poinsettia Packs: RED

The plain red paper I made myself by going to a photo program.  I opened the striped paper and then a blank area.  I copied the red color and put it in the new blank area, and by “magic” I had plain red paper to match my striped paper:)  Actually, Tracey over at Fred She Said taught me how to do it:)  I’ll ask if she would have time to post the instructions on her blog;)

Before you ask, I did not get all these images for free.  Before I became a Design Team Member over at FSS, I bought most of my images, Tracey has very reasonable  prices and you can order using PayPal!  I did however  get some free by winning the Blog Hop that FSS has, usually, once a month.  Tracey also sponsors blog challenges around the web where she donates prizes.
If you follow the Fred She Said blog, you will be updated when blogs happen, or new images are put in the store.  Also, every so often Tracey puts up freebies! 🙂  You can go over to her blog right now, and look up “digi-freebie” and pull up a list of images to use for free!  Some of the links have expired, but there is still plenty to get started with:)  Here’s on of my favorites: click here.

Thanks for coming by today!  I welcome questions:)  Have a great week!
