Freshly Made Sketches #83 and Send A Smile 4 Kids

Hmmm, well, I’m behind again:(  Had another busy week!  Anyway….Merry Monday was off this week, I think Lesley was ill:(  So we’re off to other challenges:)  First up is a sketch from Freshly Made #83, but be sure to stick around until the end because I have more cards to show you:)

FMS Final 83-001I have about 5 cards in progress for this sketch!  Today, I will show you two of them.  The first one is for the Freshly Made challenge, you can click on any of my cards to make them larger:

Half-fold Card1I love the way this one turned out!  I love simple and this is truly, simply made!  All products for this card are Stampin’ Up! except for my beautiful, pre-colored, digital image from Fred She Said, simply called Parrot Tulip.  This set includes 12 colours with and without blue shadow background ( JPG ).  Also included, printable sheets of all colours and 2 decoupage sheets with larger sized tulips to print and cut out.  There is a black and white version to color yourself:)

I used Basic Black cardstock for all my backgrounds.  Next I used a sheet of Designer Paper for the Night & Day paper pack. Then I used one of my favorite stamps from Stampin’ Up!, En Francis stamped with black StazOn.  My ribbon is Basic Black Scallop Dots ribbon.

My stamped image and my digital image were both done on my favorite paper from Target, photo project paper matte.  I think it’s the store brand, it comes with a cover sheet that has a big green arrow in the bottom left corner that says, up & up.  I love how beautifully it prints!  I use my brochure setting on my printer set at normal, not best.  It might be even better with best, but I just think that would be overkill;)

My second card using this sketch, is for Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I have a link on the left side of my blog.  It’s a charity that is sponsored from time to time by Fred She Said.  They have challenges with prizes:) !  But mainly they accept cards for children in the hospital, and for the children to give cards to their family members:)  Please take a few minutes and check them out:)

Half-fold Card2I also used a pre-colored digital image for this card and the next two I will show you.  All the images of girly dinosaurs came from a set at mygrafico.  The set is actually called Girly Dino.  For all the cards I used Stampin’ Up! products except for a yellow flower.  If you’re interested in any of the products, please ask, there are just too many colors to list everything unless you really want to know, I’m happy to answer questions;)

Half-fold Card3I made two of these green ones, one is for my granddaughter:)

Half-fold Card4If these aren’t bright and cheerful, there is just no such thing!  I printed out my dinos and then just started pulling out Stampin’ Up! paper to match the best I could.  Look at all the colors, I really hope some child is going to love these! 🙂  On the challenge, they show cards made that have a lot of embellishments, but in the instructions it says not to add things that a small child might choke on so I kept my extras to a minimum.

I hope you like my cards today, they were all fun to make and not hard, mostly cutting;)

Thanks for coming by, I hope to be back with a Christmas card soon:)  I am working on a card for the Friday Mashup that I hope to get done tomorrow.  Have a great week! 🙂

Friday Mashup #106

Ok, I’m caught up for this past week! 🙂  Tomorrow will be another Merry Monday, but I’m sure it won’t be done tomorrow;)  This card is for the Friday Mashup #106.  There’s still time to join in, or at least pop over and have a look at what everyone has made:)

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a card using the colors “Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum & Wisteria Wonder”.
  2. Create a card and “Mail or Deliver it to Someone Special”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a card with “Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder & Mail or Deliver it to someone special”.

Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card2This card is ALL Stampin’ Up! except for the gems.  I ran out of SU gems and had to dig through my drawer to find some.  I did use Sahara Sand and Wisteria Wonder, but I also couldn’t find a piece of Perfect Plum big enough to do the job:(  I hope that’s okay, if not, I will certainly be mailing it to someone special, my mom:)

On top of the Elegant Eggplant, I used my Stampin’ Up! En Francias stamp.  I love this big stamp and use it quite often!  I didn’t use a color, I used my VersaMark pad.  In case you aren’t familiar with it, VersaMark is a stamp pad with a clear, sticky liquid.  It’s used for heat embossing.  Here I inked up my stamp and just used it like a regular stamp pad, it leaves a gentle impression.

I used the Stampin’ Up! Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder, and cut around the top edge, using Wisteria Wonder.  Here I used the Evtra-Large Oval punch, Scallop Oval punch and the Modern Label punch all combined to add my sentiment.  A favorite stamp set of mine is the Teeny Tiny Wishes set, they have something for almost every occasion:)  Oh, and I popped up the happy mother’s day with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #82

Two cards in one day!  I know, I have to make them when I have the time;) I was actually up very late last night making cards…..couldn’t sleep:(  This card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.   I will also be putting it into the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids and sending it off:)  The Mother’s Day challenge just ended and they are on to Birthdays, check it out! 🙂

Here is the sketch for this weeks Freshly Made challenge:

FMS Final 82-001Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1I personally love this card….so cheerful and Springy:)  My pre-colored digital images are from Fred She Said, of course;)  I used three different sets here.  The pink paper with the flowers is a new collaboration between Fred She Said and Bearly Mine Designs.  The set is called, FSS-BMD Floral Surprise Papers Set, it has beautiful papers full of flowers! 🙂  I also used Wee Hummingbird & Petunias  and Hibiscus.  I took the Hibiscus to my Print Shop program, flipped it, printed it, cut it out and then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the Wee Hummingbird is also popped up.

I used Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede and Garden Green cardstock.  The Garden Green was run through my Big Shot using the new Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint Border embossing folder. You can’t tell very well this size, but if you enlarge the photo you can see that I used SU Dazzling Details to highlight a couple of the flowers and all over the pink paper. Lastly I used a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! set Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of my favorite sets! I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up perfectly;)

Another card with quite a few steps, but still Simply Made😉  I hope you like this card:)

Thanks for stopping by again today, I’m always happy to have you! 🙂

Merry Monday #58

Wow, I have a bunch of info this week regarding challenges where you can win prizes! 🙂  Be sure to scroll all the way to the end for this exciting info! 🙂

First, I’d like to show you the sketch this week for Merry Monday #58:

MM New Look Sketches-003Now for my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little bored with all these banners.  I decided to do something a little different and used gems.  I had a terrible time trying to make them look straight with embossing under them:(  I had a number of steps, but still pretty simply made😉

I used Stampin’ Up! supplies except where noted.   Of course my first note would be my beautiful pre-colored digital image from Fred She Said.  This image is called, Winter Emma & The Chickadee.  She comes in 5 different colors.  You can get the uncolored version here.

The back layer is Garden Green, then Cherry Cobbler, white with SU embossing folder Petals A Plenty, more Garden Green and a tiny bit of Cherry Cobbler.  The little stamp comes from the Tags til Christmas set, cut out with the Stampin’ Up! Small Oval Punch.  I did use a small Spellbinders oval for the Cherry Cobbler behind it.  The gems are just some misc. ones hanging around.  On Emma’s coat, I used SU Dazzling Details to add some sparkle.

Really it wasn’t that hard to put together, once I decided what I wanted to do;)

Now, if you’d like to know where there are some challenges where you can win Fred She Said and other prizes, I have a few places for you to visit:

If you can’t get enough Christmas cards, check out Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long.

Freshly Made Sketches #81

“Baby” (almost 2) Lawrence took a nice nap today, and I stayed awake!  I really wanted to make two more cards!  Today’s cards are for the challenge Freshly Made Sketches #81.  I’d still like to try and get one more card done, or at least started tonight, so here is the sketch this week:

FMS Final 81-001I have two cards today, so be sure to scroll to the end:)  Here is my first card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card2Both the cards today will be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids.  They also have a challenge blog with prizes! 🙂  Be sure to check them out! 🙂

Lots of Stampin’ Up! products used today on both cards, but both images are from Fred She Said.  This first image is from a set called Wee Hummingbird & Petunias.  There is a un-colored digi set and a pre-colored set.  You probably have already guessed that I used the pre-colored set;)  There are 7 different colors of flowers and also images of the flowers and birds separately.

I used Garden Green from  a Stampin’ Up! paper pack, and plain Daffodil Delight.  I also used glue from Stampin’ Up! and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up my sentiment and main image.  The little yellow gems were in my stash of craft items.

Now for my second card, you can also click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card3Another beautiful pre-colored image from Fred She Said!  This image is from a set called Hummingbird & Columbine, you can get the images pre-colored or black and white to color yourself.  There are three different colors of flowers and also images of just flowers or just birds.

More Stampin’ Up! papers:)  The blue polka dots are from a paper pack of Bright colors, I also used Bashful Blue and Pacific Point.  The leaves on the left are from a Stampin’ Up! Little Leaves Sizzlits die.

Thanks for coming by today!

Merry Monday #57

Yay, I received an Honorable Mention for this card from Merry Monday #57:)

Honourable Mention

Well, I think I’m just going to have to say that there is never a “normal” day or week around here! 😦   I’m also kinda thinking I will never catch up! 😦   But, being me, I will still try! 🙂

This week over at Always Playing With Paper, they went back to all sketches:)  So this weeks sketch for Merry Monday #57 looks like this:

MM New Look Sketches-002I made two cards for this challenge.  I am trying to put aside extra cards for “Send A Smile 4 Kids”.  You can click on my link on the left side to find out about this worthy cause:)

Here is my first card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Poster3I always use mostly Stampin’ Up! products, and that’s true for this card as well.  But first, I’ll tell you about my pre-colored digital image from Raspberry Road Designs.  The central image is from a digital kit called Christmas Cookies Side Clusters.  I’ve used Raspberry Road Designs before, they’re very easy to work with:)  I used one of their papers, and then topped it with a side cluster.

Under that I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red, and Gumball Green.  I used a SU embossing folder that’s not in the current catalog:( The sentiment is from SU Short and Sweet-retired. Lastly I added some basic pearls from SU and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up the image.  A simply made card;)

Now for my second card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Poster4Yep, you guessed it, a wonderful Fred She Said image:)  Pre-colored digital images help make a lot of my cards Simply Made😉  This image is called Hat Tipping Snowman. This product includes both Pre-coloured and Digi/Uncoloured images.  There are 2 coloured versions plus  “antiqued” versions.  PNG’s (no background) and ready-to-print sheets are also included 🙂

I think this is a fun card for a child:)  I didn’t pop up the whole red paper, just the snowman. I used Stampin’ Up! digital paper, Frostwood Lodge (plaid), Real Red, Garden Green and Basic Black. The sentiment is a misc stamp that I had in my drawer.

Thanks for stopping by today:) !  I hope you like my cards:)  I hope to be back very soon with another card:)

Friday Mashup #104

Yay, I received an honor by being chosen this week, not as the winner, but as a runner up.  Still very much an honor:)  Here’s my badge:

It rained today, but that’s good… didn’t snow!!  The birds are also making some hanky panky, so Spring must be around the corner…….right?   This card fits right in with the weather today.

Here is the challenge for this week over at the Friday Mashup:

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using an “Umbrella Image”.
  2. Create a “Double Z Fold Card”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Double Z Fold Card with an Umbrella Image”.

I didn’t mash it up this week, just used the umbrella image.  This card will also be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 kids.  The sentiment reads: “Every storm cloud runs out of rain eventually”.

I couldn’t find an umbrella on my favorite Fred She Said site, so I had to go find one somewhere else:(  Luckily, I found this very cute image:

Half-fold Card2

It comes with the cloud paper and a few other things:)  I found it over at Clear Dollar Stamps, appropriately called Rainy Day.  Yes, it’s pre-colored;)  You may remember that I am pretty hopeless at coloring.

I used the same sketch as my last card, it worked well, I think:)  I used Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, my favorite yellow:)  Stampin’ Up! embossing folder and Spellbinders dies.  A very simply made card:)

I don’t make just digital cards.  All the elements for this card were printed on my favorite paper from Target, photo project paper, matte.  I believe it’s a store brand, it has a big green arrow in the bottom left corner that says up & up.  I print my images on the brochure, matte setting.  I then cut everything out and assemble it with glue, tape and or pop-ups.  For this card, I used all three;)

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope to have my next card in a couple, few days, see you then! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #80

Another busy week for me, and I’m still sick! 😦  I hope I can feel better and get into some kind of routine soon!

Today I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches  #80.  They had another very simple sketch this week, that I had a lot of trouble with.  Here is their sketch:

FMS Final 80-001Here is my card:

Half-fold Card1Besides the Freshly Made Challenge, I will be putting this in my box to go to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I have a link for them on my sidebar.  This is a wonderful cause to share handmade cards with children in several different USA hospitals.  Some of the cards go to children directly, and some go to the children so they can give them to their family members:)  Right now they are collecting cards for children to give for Mother’s day:)  Please take a few minutes and visit their blog where they have challenges and prizes! 🙂

Now, about my card…….I used all Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  First, I will talk about my pre-colored, digital image from Fred She Said.  This image is called, Emma The Skipper.  You can find it on this page, along with the un-colored version so you can color it yourself.  It comes with a few sentiments:)  Fred She Said also has a blog where you can find out about new products and contests with prizes! 🙂

I did use die cuts from Spellbinders, but the rest is all Stampin’ Up!  I used a new embossing folder called Cloudy Day, pretty cool, also a new stamp set called Bloomin’ Marvelous. I took the small flower out of the set and stamped it for the background by inking with Daffodil Delight and stamping off once on scrap paper.  I didn’t want it to be too bright;)  I used Daffodil Delight ribbon and a new ribbon slider.  I cut the sentiment by hand, and used Wild Wasabi behind the image and for the background.

I have to go post this before the deadline, so off I go…

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I already have my next card made and hope to post it today or tomorrow:)

Freshly Made Sketches # 79

That was just my greeting, I don’t have an Easter card to show you.  Today, I have a card for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches, #79.  A great sketch and wonderful cards, so please be sure and pop over there!  Here is the sketch:

FMS Final 79-001It looks so simple, but it can really be dressed up:)  Here is my card:

Half-fold Card4aWow is all I can say, beautiful image and my two favorite colors, I also love butterflies!   It did take longer that I thought it would, I cut my image into all kinds of shapes before deciding on the Spellbinders Oval.

My pre-colored digital image is from the Fred She Said store.  This is one of Tracey’s newer images, that I haven’t had time to play with, Marigolds & Morpho SETS.  You can pop over here to Tracey’s blog and see what’s in the set.  The un-colored version is it’s own set.

I used Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point and Daffodil Delight for my cardstock and paper.  I also used some SU white ribbon that I dyed Garden Green.  I don’t think I let it sit long enough because I don’t think it’s dark enough:(  I used a discontinued SU punch for the white strip, and a misc ribbon slider of unknown origin;)

A little tip for you:)  I used to have so much trouble trying to make my punches come out right!  I didn’t see anyone post this, I just figured it out.

Half-fold Card5Instead of one long strip, I cut two smaller strips.  Once I covered it with my image you can’t tell, but the ends are perfect.  I cut one using the left side of the punch and one using the right side of the punch.  I found that the longer the strip I made, the more likely I was to not line up the paper right, or I would double punch and the image wasn’t perfect. And then of course, you ended up cutting the strip in an unattractive place, oh no!  I don’t know why I didn’t think of it sooner!

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you can use my tip sometime:)  Be back again soon with another card:)
