Fred She Said 5th Birthday BLOG HOP! & Freshly Made Sketches #88

I am so so sorry I’m a little late to the party:(   So here we go!

Half-fold Card2

Welcome to the Fred, She Said 5th Birthday Blog Hop!  We’ve been up and running 5 wonderful years!  The theme for this hop is Fred’s FAVES  FLORAL and/or PURPLE!

If you have arrived from Crystal’s blog, you are right on track. If you are just happening by, you will want to start on the FSS Blog. (

Collect a secret word on each blog along the way, leave us some love on our posts and follow the directions at the end of the hop for your chance to win this FABULOUS PRIZE!

One winner will receive ALL of this:

$25 Gift Certificate to the Fred She Said Store
$25 USD equivalent Gift Certificate to any online papercrafting store of winner’s choice 🙂

Wow, how awesome is that!?

Here is the info for my Blog Hop card, but keep scrolling, I have a second card! 🙂

For my card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock, Lavender Lace.  I don’t remember what year it’s from, but I just love all the retired purples!    The flowered  paper is from the Fred She Said paper pack, Summer’s Roses Digital Paper Set by Bearly Mine Designs.  Yep, I know, incredibly long name;)  The main image is, of course, Fred She Said’s,  Hearts & Roses Pre-Coloured Set. It also comes B & W for you to color yourself.  I love the pre-colored versions of Fred She Said images! 🙂

I imported the FSS image sheet into Print Shop and cropped out the image I wanted to use.  I added a circle shape and made it into an oval that would fit my Spellbinders Oval Dies. Just to make sure I was sizing everything the way I wanted.  I then deleted the oval.  Then I used the Print Shop text boxes to add my sentiment.  I tried using a rubber stamp, but I was getting frustrated!

The white decorative paper was made with Spellbinders Nestabilities, Decorative Labels Eight.  I had a terrible time cutting it out! 😦  Cardstock was too thick and paper was a little to thin, I think, because the lower left corner is a little mangled:(  I hid it well, did I not?  I did use wax paper, but if anyone out there has a tip on getting a good cut, I would be happy to have the info:)

I finished up with some retired Stampin’ Up! ribbon, Mellow Moss, and some misc. gems.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask:)

Your secret word on my blog is  Happy

Your next stop on the hop is Judy’s blog.

Winners will be selected on June 8th 2013 at 12:01 EST.

Fred She Said is also having a sale!

Now for my second card which will be entered in Freshly Made Sketches #88.

Half-fold Card1

For my card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock, Lovely Lilac.  I think it matches perfectly with the flowers Tracey has drawn!  The flower paper is from the Fred She Said paper pack,  BMD Petunia Parade Digital Papers Set.  Yep, I know, really long name, but not as long as the first paper pack;) lol  This digital paper set was designed by Donna of Bearly Mine Designs using graphics from the Wee HummingBird & Petunias which comes as outlines or  a Pre-coloured set ( not included).    This paper set includes 27  beautiful 6″x6″ papers ( JPG 133 ppi )

Which brings me to my digital image.  What else, a pre-colored digital image from Fred She Said,  Wee Hummingbird & Petunias Pre-coloured Set.  This card was much more simple to make, but I still love it!  I used my Print Shop program to print the image and paper on the same sheet of paper, photo project paper-matte from Target.  Both the image and paper were mounted on the Lovely Lilac cardstock.  I used an older punch from Martha Stewart, a couple misc. gems, and  a tiny Stampin’ Up! rubber stamp that someone gave me.

I hope I’m still making sense, it’s so late here, but my daughter kept texting me over and over, even though I told her I was busy:(  I honestly started my cards last weekend!  Busy, busy, busy!!!  Please feel free to let me know if I’ve made an error, or just plain confused you!

Thank you for coming by today! 🙂  Have a great weekend and be sure to follow the Blog Hop and check out the sale! 🙂

Fred She Said blog hop, Sale and an honorable mention

No card today, just a lot of news;)  First, I received an honorable mention for one of my cards! 🙂  If you look down the right side, you may notice lots of honorable mentions from Merry Monday.  That would be because I make a lot of Christmas cards!  😉

Half-fold Card1                                       Honourable Mention

My other big news would be a sale over at the Fred She Said store!!  PLUS a blog hop!  If you don’t know what a blog hop is, I’ll explain.  A blog hop is where all the Design Team members make cards with Fred She Said products and show them on their blogs.  You go to each blog and collect a word from each blog.  When you have all the words, they make a sentence and you then enter it and you’re put in for a chance to win the prize! 🙂  YOU do not have to make a card, just the Design Team members:)

Remember, Fred She Said has colored and un-colored images.  You’re sure to find more than a few images to color or print:)  So follow the blog hop and enter starting Friday, May 31st.  Until then take a look at the Fred She Said store and save big with the sale going on now! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today!  I will be back soon with more cards! 🙂

Friday Mashup #111

Okay, I have something different for this weeks Friday Mashup #111.  Here’s the challenge:

  1. Create a project using “your choice of a Neutral & a Splash of one Bright Color”.
  2. Create a project “using a Pencil (regular graphite #2)”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project “using pencil & your choice of a neutral & a Splash of a Bright Color”.

Using a pencil, that’s something new and different;)  I decided to give it a try:)  I also decided to mash it up and use pencil, neutral and a splash of color.  My splash of color is Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, I love blue! My black and white papers are from Stampin’ Up!s Night and Day collection (retired).  You can still get it in digital form and print it out:)  You don’t have to have My Digital Studio, you can use most any print program, I use Print Shop.  I do have MDS, but I don’t know how to import my non-Stampin’ Up! images to print on the same page:(  I’ll have to see if it can be done.

My main image is a digital image from Mo’s Digital Pencil, called Paul Texting.  I love Mo’s images, but most of you know, I am pretty hopeless at coloring:(  All of Mo’s images are black and white.  Anyway…I thought this image would be great colored with pencil, so here it is, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1So what do you think?  I’m going to be sending this card to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I’m told they always need cards for teens, especially boys!  And it’s all colored with regular #2 pencil!  Ok, I love the way it turned out, I hope you like it too:)

If you follow me at all, you know I love Fred She Said DesignsWell, guess what?  Fred is going to have a 5th anniversary sale, and a blog hop where someone will win some pretty nice prizes!

FSS-5th BDAY SALEPlus, there will be a blog hop where you will get to see lots of card samples! 🙂  I’ll be there, I’m already working on a card or two;)  The theme will be purple and/or flowers:)  Be sure to write it down, or head over to the Fred She Said blog and sign up for the newsletter.  The newsletter will keep you updated on new products, contests and sales! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  Lucky for you all that you can’t hear all the noise going on around me;)  My granddaughters are arguing over colored pebbles, the kind you put in flower vases.  They’re playing some kind of game and getting their pebbles mixed up.  If only we could solve wars by simply counting the pebbles up and dividing them equally!

Have a great weekend! 🙂

Merry Monday #63

I’m sorry to have been missing so long:(  I have been taking care of my two granddaughters, 6 & 8, plus my grandson, just turned two, and on top of all that, I’ve been sick! 😦   Ok, whining is over:)  Now on to a couple of cards…..   First I have my card for this weeks challenge over at Merry Monday #63.  I have missed several weeks there:(  But I have two cards to show you so keep scrolling;)

Here is the sketch this week from Merry Monday, you still have plenty of time to play along:)

Sketch #63-May 20Here is my card:

Half-fold Card1I used all Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  The very back is Very Vanilla, on top of that is Real Red, then Designer Series Paper (DSP) Candlelight Christmas (retired) from last years Christmas catalog.  Real Red again, topped with Very Vanilla that I printed with My Digital Studio.

First I made the entire background Very Vanila, then I added my digital stamp from Winter Post (retired) colored Real Red.  I also added the digital skating pair from the Winter Post, I wanted to have the same Very Vanilla background and I added Early Espresso as the color.  I then stamped the words with a clear rubber stamp from the French Foliage set in Early Espresso.

I cut the couple out using my Spellbinder plain circles and scallop circle sets.  The bottom circle is Early Espresso, topped with Lucky Limeade ( I know, strange Christmas color choice, but it matches the paper) and then the skating pair are popped up .  I finished it off with two pretty gems that I found in my stash, probably from Michaels craft store.

I know, a lot of steps, but none of them really hard;)

My second card was made for last weeks Merry Monday, but I didn’t submit it on time:(  You get to see it anyway:)  Here is the sketch that was last weeks:

Sketch #62-May 13And here is the card I made:

Half-fold Card2This card was for Merry Monday #62.  I will be saving this card and sending it on with other cards for Christmas to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  This is a charity to send handmade cards to children in hospitals.  I have a link on the left side of my blog.  They have a challenge blog with digital prizes, if you’re interested, or just make and send cards:)

My very cute, pre-colored, digital image is from Fred She Said, Naughty or Nice Elf. The paper is also FSS and can be found in the Christmas Poinsettia Packs: RED and/or BLUE.  Of course, it also has some wonderful Poinsettias;)  The Naughty or Nice set also includes some sentiments.

I started with white cardstock as my background, I love white backgrounds:)  On top of that is Stampin’ Up! Real Red, more white and then the FSS green dotted paper, which I print with my printer and then cut out to layer.  I also printed the little Elf and cut with a Spellbinder circle die, the black behind her I cut by hand.  The Elf is also popped up.  I printed my sentiment (all of my FSS images and sentiments were printed on the same sheet of paper), and mounted it on SU Basic Black.  I finished this card off with 3 sparkly gold brads.

This card had less steps, so I guess this one is the Simply Made one;)

Fred She Said will be having a blog hop May 31st, with prizes! 🙂  If you would like to receive a notice, hop over to the Fred She Said blog, you can sign up for the newsletters and be one of the first to know about new images and contests! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today:)  Hope to see you soon!
