One winner will receive ALL of this:

$25 Gift Certificate to the Fred She Said Store
$25 USD equivalent Gift Certificate to any online papercrafting store of winner’s choice 🙂

Wow, how awesome is that!?

Here is the info for my Blog Hop card, but keep scrolling, I have a second card! 🙂

For my card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock, Lavender Lace.  I don’t remember what year it’s from, but I just love all the retired purples!    The flowered  paper is from the Fred She Said paper pack, Summer’s Roses Digital Paper Set by Bearly Mine Designs.  Yep, I know, incredibly long name;)  The main image is, of course, Fred She Said’s,  Hearts & Roses Pre-Coloured Set. It also comes B & W for you to color yourself.  I love the pre-colored versions of Fred She Said images! 🙂

I imported the FSS image sheet into Print Shop and cropped out the image I wanted to use.  I added a circle shape and made it into an oval that would fit my Spellbinders Oval Dies. Just to make sure I was sizing everything the way I wanted.  I then deleted the oval.  Then I used the Print Shop text boxes to add my sentiment.  I tried using a rubber stamp, but I was getting frustrated!

The white decorative paper was made with Spellbinders Nestabilities, Decorative Labels Eight.  I had a terrible time cutting it out! 😦  Cardstock was too thick and paper was a little to thin, I think, because the lower left corner is a little mangled:(  I hid it well, did I not?  I did use wax paper, but if anyone out there has a tip on getting a good cut, I would be happy to have the info:)

I finished up with some retired Stampin’ Up! ribbon, Mellow Moss, and some misc. gems.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask:)

Your secret word on my blog is  Happy

Your next stop on the hop is Judy’s blog.  http://insearchofmycreativeside.blogspot.com/

Winners will be selected on June 8th 2013 at 12:01 EST.

FSS-5th BDAY SALE

Now for my second card which will be entered in Freshly Made Sketches #88.

Half-fold Card1

For my card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock, Lovely Lilac.  I think it matches perfectly with the flowers Tracey has drawn!  The flower paper is from the Fred She Said paper pack,  BMD Petunia Parade Digital Papers Set.  Yep, I know, really long name, but not as long as the first paper pack;) lol  This digital paper set was designed by Donna of Bearly Mine Designs using graphics from the Wee HummingBird & Petunias which comes as outlines or  a Pre-coloured set ( not included).    This paper set includes 27  beautiful 6″x6″ papers ( JPG 133 ppi )

Which brings me to my digital image.  What else, a pre-colored digital image from Fred She Said,  Wee Hummingbird & Petunias Pre-coloured Set.  This card was much more simple to make, but I still love it!  I used my Print Shop program to print the image and paper on the same sheet of paper, photo project paper-matte from Target.  Both the image and paper were mounted on the Lovely Lilac cardstock.  I used an older punch from Martha Stewart, a couple misc. gems, and  a tiny Stampin’ Up! rubber stamp that someone gave me.

I hope I’m still making sense, it’s so late here, but my daughter kept texting me over and over, even though I told her I was busy:(  I honestly started my cards last weekend!  Busy, busy, busy!!!  Please feel free to let me know if I’ve made an error, or just plain confused you!

Thank you for coming by today! 🙂  Have a great weekend and be sure to follow the Blog Hop and check out the sale! 🙂

Floral and purple. What a PERFECT theme! These two cards are totally gorgeous. Sometimes I have trouble getting stuff to cut well with dies. The only thing I try is to check how well it has cut before removing the die from the paper/card. If it hasn’t cut through everywhere then I put it through the machine again with a thin shim. Sometimes I have to put it through 4 times! You did hide it well – I certainly can’t see any problems with the cut shape on your card!

  11. Beautiful cards Janet Kay. Love purple and yellow together!!!

  22. I love both your cards, especially the first one, it is awesome

  23. Both cards are just awesome Janet! I love the details on how you created your card as well! I was wondering how you do that to get the spellbinder oval shape in your print program……

    • Linda, thanks for your kind comments:) To get a shape in Print Shop, I go to the left and choose drawing tools, then insert shape. I choose the circle shape, fill color is none, outline width is one, outline color is usually dark gray, but you can choose any color you like. I find dark gray to work best.
I then take my shape up to the top left to measure the size. For my oval I measured the die by the cutting edge, not the total width of the die. I pulled my circle until it was the height and width I wanted, just a tad smaller so I wouldn’t cut off any of my image.
When you’re happy with your shape, you layer it on top of your image, size your image to fit inside as you like. Then, very important, move your oval/shape off the paper or it may show on your cutout! You can just move it off the paper, it will sit on the side until you decide what to do with it next. You can even save your project with it sitting there and will be there when you open your project again.
I hope that makes sense, if you need further help, feel free to ask:)

  24. Happy Birthday!
Both cards are beautiful, great colors!
