Merry Monday #67

Wow, I’m really cutting this down to the wire!  Right now I have about an hour and 40 minutes to post this card to the challenge over at Merry Monday #67!  So this post will be kinda short;)  Here is the sketch for this week:

MM June 17And here is my card:

Half-fold Card1My pre-colored, digital image is from Fred She Said.  This is one of my favorite birds!  You can find it in the FSS Christmas bird series, it’s called Winter Chickadee.

I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green behind the plaid and behind the Chickadee.  The red plaid paper is from Raspberry Road Designs from their Cranberry Cottage collection.  I love their papers, I use them a lot to go with my Fred She Said designs🙂  I used a misc. rubber stamp, then more Stampin’ Up! supplies.  I used some retired ribbon, a ribbon slide, some basic pearls, and Stampin’ Dimentionals to pop up my bird image.

I’m playing catch-up again.  Lots going on over here!  Thanks for coming by today, hope to see you soon! 🙂

Friday Mashup #114 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

It’s been crazy around here, as always!  I’m staying up late to post this card I just made:)  I’m going to enter it into two different challenges.  Send A Smile 4 Kids, and the Friday Mashup #114.     Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, is to make a card for a girl, teen girl if possible.  The SAS4K challenge is open until July 5th so you have time to pop over there and join in:)

The Friday Mashup #114 challenge will end tomorrow:(  But there is still a little time if you hurry, it’s open until 6pm, or you can still head over there and look at all the great cards and then Friday join in for a new challenge:)

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using the “Sketch”.
  2. Create a project using the “Brick Wall Technique”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project using the “Sketch with the Brick Wall Technique”.

FM114I toyed with the idea of the Brick Wall Technique, but decided I just didn’t have the time or the patience to try a new technique right now:(  Maybe some other time:)  I did use the sketch and turned it on it’s side:

Half-fold Card1I did use a “mashup” of products today.  This Hotrod Pickup is a pre-colored image from Doddle Pantry.  I made this especially for a teenage girl.  What girl wouldn’t want a pink pickup truck?  Ok, maybe me, I would prefer blue;)  As it happens, in the kit are a lime green and a pale blue pickup and some matching papers:)  I used the matching pink paper here, as well as some Stampin’ Up! DSP, Night and Day.  I also used Stampin’ Up! Basic Black. I used a Martha Stewart punch, and I printed the sentiment using my Print Shop23.

Wow, it’s after 1am, I better head to bed!  Toddler Lawrence, he really isn’t a baby anymore, will be up bright and early;)  We like to go for walks when it’s cool in the morning and late afternoon.

Thanks for coming by today!  I really do appreciate all your comments, suggestions, or questions:)  See you soon! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #90 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I have two more cards today:)  The first card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #90.  Here is their sketch for this week, I’ve used it for both cards:

FMS Final 90-001Now for my first card:

How cute is this image?  The colors are actually much more vibrant in hand.  They almost look washed out here:(  I used Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  I used Real Red on the back, then a piece of Daffodil Delight.  I ran the Daffodil Delight through with the Textured Impressions folder-Stripes, then I highlighted it with a Stampin’ Spot of More Mustard.  I just swiped the little pad over the stripes a few times.  I think it matches the yellow on the truck;)  I used Pacific Point behind the truck, and a small piece of Real Red for the tag.

The truck image with the little ants is from doodle Pantry. They have quite a few ants running around doing different things, cute:)  The paper comes along with the set of three trucks and a few sentiments.

Now for my second card, using the same layout:

Poster2Both of my cards will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂  It looks like the current blog challenge ends today, but there will be another one tomorrow, Sat. 16th.  Please be sure to visit their challenge blog and consider sending in some cards for the children:)  I have a link on the left side of my blog.

For this card, I also used Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  The background is Tempting Turquoise, Real Red behind the main image and more Tempting Turquoise for the Sentiment.  I used a stamp from the set Wishes Your Way, which I cut with the Modern Label punch.  I mounted that on a small scrap of Tempting Turquoise and rounded the edges on one side.  I used a Testured Impressions Embossing Folder called Cloudy Day from the Spring catalog on the left side of my card. Dazzling Details make the little bubbles sparkle, it’s hard to see here.

The colored, dotted paper came from somewhere new called Sassy Designs.    Good luck, when I visited their site they had over 500 paper packs.  Sorry, I didn’t find the exact page for you:(

My main image is Fred She Said, of course! 🙂  I’ve used this image before, I think it’s so cute!  The set is called Emma Blowing Bubbles.  The set comes with 4 different colored versions, or you can get just the black & white image separately.

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  See you soon:)

Freshly Made #89 and Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’m sorry I’m not making my regular posts.  I have to post when time allows, also whenever I can make cards;)

I have two cards for you today, I hope you like them:)  First up is a card I’m actually posting to two different blog challenges:  Freshly Made Sketch #89, and the Friday Mashup #113.

FMS Final 89-001

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

  1. Create a project using “Hexagons”.
  2. Create a “Girly project”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Girly project using Hexagons”.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made and then I made it “girly” for the challenge at the Friday Mashup.  I’m a little tired of the tags, and I really don’t like hexagons, I don’t know why.

Here’s my card:

Poster3Yep, no tag at the bottom, I cut the bottom with my small scissors, and backed it with white cardstock, it kinda looks like tags.  The girl image was popped up a little by adding plain cardstock to the back.  I used Stampin’ Up! So Saffron cardstock for the back.  I’m not sure where I got the checkered paper:(  I also used Stampin’ Up! plain white bakers twine, small red flower button, and two different butterfly punches.

My pre-colored, digital image is from Fred She Said called,  Emma & Rosey and Just Emma.   I used Emma & Rosey, but you can also get Just Emma, or you can get either image in black & white.

I will most  send the Rosie card on to Send A Smile 4 Kids, but I made a specific card for them:)  Send A Smile 4 Kids sponsors a challenge blog with prizes!  I can’t enter this week because I am on the Design Team at Fred She Said and FSS is one of the prize sponsors for this challenge.  But don’t let that stop you from entering and/or sending cards to this great cause!

Half-fold Card1All of the products used on this card are Stampin’ Up!  except for this really cute pre-colored, digital image I found at doddle Pantry, oh, and the purple digital paper and the green paper under the sentiment.   Doodle Pantry is also a sometimes sponsor over at Send A Smile 4 Kids. I just love this image for kids, so fun! 🙂

Well, believe it or not, I am off to watch something on TV.  I know, I hardly ever watch TV anymore, but there is a summer program called Falling Skies about aliens, that I just love! LOL

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week! 🙂
