Doodle Pantry- DPDC36 & Merry Monday-July

I had company this week who spent some time with the kids, so more “free” time for me:) LOL   Of course, I made cards! 😉 I’m entering two different challenges this week.  The first challenge is Doodle Pantry-DPDC36.  They are first because D comes before M.  I had to decide some way;)

This challenge was pretty simple:

Tag/Keyword: DPDC36
THEME: Use a Doodle Pantry image

So here is my card:

Half-fold Card1How cute is this?  I made 4 of these cards in different colors.  Two for my grandgirls and 2 for Send A Smile 4 Kids.  The pre-colored digital artwork is from Doodle Pantry, and is called Popsicle Ants.

I used Stampin’ Up! River Rock (retired) cardstock as backing papers.  All the other papers, the image & the sentiment are from the Popsicle Ants kit.  I did use some 3D Popsicle stickers to embellish, I bought them at Michaels.  I went back for more and they’re sold out:(  Turns out they are already putting up Fall stuff!  Wow, time does fly!!  Anyway…I will post the second card at a later date:)

Now on to Merry Monday-July:

July ChallengeThis is the second week of July…..so my second card;)  I had started this card for a previous challenge but simply ran out of time to enter it:(  July is “Anything goes”so I decided to go back and pick up this challenge that I missed:)MM New Look Sketches-004  This card came to my mind as soon as I saw this sketch:

Half-fold Card2I think this one is really cute too:)  This card is all Fred She Said, except the sentiment.  The background stripes, with the Pine Cone and branches are all one digital image from FSS called Pine Cone Spray.   I cut out a 2nd Pine Cone and popped it up, then added some sparkle to the Pine Cone and branches.  I previewed this photo and you really can’t see the sparkle, even enlarged:(  I took about 8 photos and wasn’t impressed with any of them:(

The Santa image is also Fred She Said called, Little Fat Santa.   I used one of the pre-colored, PNGs, and fit it right into the frame using my Print Shop program.  I used a misc. rubber stamp to make the sentiment flag.  Now for an interesting side note. I took the background paper with the oval over to a different image product and used the thin line around the oval and made my own background paper.  I bet you hadn’t given that another thought.  If you think making digital card parts is easy, you have either never tried it or you have done it for years! 🙂

I did print and then cut out the dark blue background paper, layered the pale striped paper on top and then added the 3D Pine Cone and the sentiment flag.  Hmmm, now that I think about it, I should have just printed the words and layered it on the dark blue in my Print Shop.  But what I actually did, was painstakingly pull one “ho!” off a stamp with three different styled “ho, ho, ho’s”.  Yes, I seem to like to torture myself (rolling eyes here).  The flag, banner, whatever you want to call it is not glued at the end and curls up a little.  I saw someone else do this and liked the effect:)

OMGoodness, I am quite the chatterbox today, sorry.

Thanks for coming by today, and thanks so much if you’ve read this entire post! 🙂  Check out all my links if you have time, lots to see! 🙂
