Send A Smile 4 Kids & sister’s Birthday

I’m excited today to show you the card I made for my sister’s birthday! 🙂  I also have two cards that are Simply Made for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂  If you have questions on anything, be sure to ask:)

My first card is for my sister, winter birthdays always get kind of lost with Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I try to make her something really nice;)  Here is the card I made:

Half-fold Card2I had to scan this one, and I’ll show you why in a few minutes.  Aren’t the colors beautiful?!  Everything on this card is Stampin’ Up! unless noted.  This is gorgeous paper from the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog, called Winter Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper. It has two papers with silver accents, I used one of them on this card, but you can’t tell:(  The stripe paper has silver lines that look gray here.  I used Island Indigo as the bottom colored layer, and Coastal Cabana on top of that.  Then I cut my DSP and added it in a Starburt Pattern, which you should find here.

I pulled out my Apothecary Accents Framelits and cut the shape for my sentiment, which is Beautiful Birthday, it was sold as a single stamp. The sentiment is stamped with an Island Indigo stamp pad. It looks like a small brad, but it’s actually a waste dot from a regular 1/16th hole punch. It’s cut out of Coastal Cabana. Lastly I pulled out my Bird Builder punch and punched the bird out with white.  I sponged on some Island Indigo, I used my Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker for the neck, near the beak and for the eye.  For the eye, I used my uni-ball Signo Gel Pen-White for under the Basic Black.  I also used the white pen on the wing.  I couldn’t find a gray marker so I used my granddaughter’s crayon.  When in need;)

Now, the reason I scanned this card:

Half-fold Card1Look how awful the colors are in this photo! I had a terrible time with my camera last night! 😦  I fixed this photo and it’s still terrible!

Anyway…..I have two more cards that are for the Send A Smile 4 Kids box🙂  I hope they aren’t too dark, I did take photos of them. Here’s the first one:

Half-fold Card3Ok, a little dark but you can still see it:)  I used Stampin’ Up! Wild Wasabi in the back, and Basic Black under the holly border.  I used a Darice embossing folder that was gifted to me.  It has now become my favorite Winter embossing folder!!  I used a 3D sticker for the center image.  I bought it at Michaels about 2 years ago,( okay I bought a bunch of them ) by Mary Englebright.  See that cute border, the Holly and the black and white are part of the packaging, yes really, I thought it looked pretty;)   This one and the next one are for Send A Smile 4 Kids.

Half-fold Card4This one has another sticker, but I’m not sure where it’s from, it was in my stash.  All my cards look much better in hand than one here.  The snowman has silver on the “Noel” sign, around the mittens, for the mouth,  and on the hat embellishments.  The big embossed snowflakes have Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Details, and two small gems.  Simple but cute, at least I think so;)

OMGoodness, I have been working on this post for over 3 hours!  I have to keep stopping to do things for my grandchildren!  They have no sense of time! lol

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  I’m off to make more cards while my grandson takes a nap and the girls watch a movie:)  See you soon! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #113, Operation Write Home, Send A Smile 4 Kids

Hi everyone, I’m so glad you could come by today! 🙂  I have three cards to show you today, all of them pretty simple to make:)  I won’t have very much commentary today, it’s late and I’m soooo tired!

My first card is for the Freshly Made Sketch #113.  I was going to submit it to Merry Monday #84, but I ran out of time:(  Anyway… is the sketch for this week:

FMS Final 113-001I actually have 2 cards for this sketch, but they are practically the same so I counted them as one;)

Half-fold Card3

Half-fold Card2The only differences are the way I put them together and the sentiments. I used a Martha Stewart Punch to make the little trees:)  These two cards will be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids:)  My next card is really Simply Made!

Half-fold Card4Click on it to make it larger and see the embossing better:)  It’s a wonderful winter scene:)  The sentiment is from Doodle Pantry, it’s part of their Operation Write Home fund raiser:)     Through November 30th, a large portion of the proceeds will go to Operation Write Home!

Here is my last card for today, I used an old sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I don’t have time to run off and find it now, but if you’re interested, just ask in the comments;)

Half-fold Card1This sketch is so simple to make, I’ve used it for all kinds of different cards!  Today, I have used a digital image from Fred She Said, one of my favorites,  Cathin’ Flakes:)    When I got all done tonight making cards, I realized just how much blue I was using! lol  I love blue, but I didn’t do it on purpose:)  For the last two cards I used Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, and for the first two, I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green.  The last two cards will be going in the box for Operation Write Home:)

I’ll be posting some more cards with stickers this week and then it’s off to their destinations for my boxes! 🙂

Thanks for coming by:)  See you soon! 🙂

Merry Monday #83, Freshly Made Sketches #112, SAS4K & OWH

I have three cards today, yes 3!  I first have to apologize for the photos of my cards:(  They aren’t actually photos at all, I had to scan them:(  They look lifeless and cold to me:(  I used to scan all my cards, then I started taking photos, wow, what a difference! This scanner must not be very good because the scans look washed out in areas.  I’m very disappointed:(    My camera has turned up missing for some reason.  There are quite a few people in my apartment this week, but my grandson may have put it somewhere.  I’ll have everyone look tomorrow.

Anyway…..lets get to some cards! 🙂  My first card I will be entering in both Merry Monday #83, and Freshly Made Sketches #112.  Here is the info for Merry  Monday:

MM New Look Sketches-016Here’s the sketch for Freshly Made Sketches #112

FMS Final 112-001I used the theme from Merry Monday and the sketch from Freshly Made:

Half-fold Card1I’m sorry, it looks so much better in hand:(  All products for this card are Stampin’ Up!  First I used Stampin’ Up! digital stripe paper in Chocolate Chip, on top of that I used some Chocolate Chip cardstock.  The mittens are a Stampin’ Up! punch, (ooops, I used red star paper from Doodle Pantry).  The sentiment is from the stamp set, Snow Swirled.   This card will be sent to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

Next I have another card that will be sent to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

Half-fold Card2I’m so sad, what a terrible scan:(  Anyway…I used a snowy embossing folder, on top of that I used Stampin’ Up! Lucky Limeade cardstock, and an image and sentiment from Fred She Said, both from the kit Emma The Hugger – Snowman Edition.  I also used Spellbinders dies. This card will  also be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

My last card will be going to Operation Write Home:

Half-fold Card3This is also a Fred She Said image, this one is simply called Pine Trees.  There are 3 different versions, I love them all! 🙂  Christmas has been sent already for Operation Write Home, this is a Winter Love card:)  The background and accent color is by Stampin’ Up!, Garden Green, my favorite green cardstock!  I used a misc. rubber stamp, and an embossing folder gifted to me:)  The folder is snowflakes and swirls if you can’t make it out (darn scanner).

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope to get more time to make cards very soon, see you then:)

Freshly Made Sketches #111, Digi Sketch & Send A Smile 4 Kids

Two more cards today:)  This is a very simple design sketch, and I love it!  I actually plan to make a number of cards with this sketch;)  The first challenge is for Freshly Made Sketches #111.  Here is their sketch:

fms111sketchHere’s my first card:

Half-fold Card1Both my cards have images from Fred She Said.  this image is called FSS-Kiss me Scottie.  He is too cute!  He comes in 4 different colors. I used an embossing folder that was gifted to me:)  Some Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, and a digital paper I got from Sassy Designs called Fruitcake.  The hardest part for me was choosing my papers:)

My second card I’m entering in the challenge at Digi Sketch.  It’s being sponsored by Doodle Pantry, so there is a prize involved;)  There is a sketch and a theme, you can do one or both.  I choose the theme which is All for the Animals.

46491_10153040122565083_316969804_nHere is the card I’m submitting:

Half-fold Card2Yep, it’s a Fred She Said image;)  But if I win, I will get a gift certificate to Doodle Pantry!  The are my two favorite places to go for digital images! 🙂 The image is called Winter Westie. He comes with a red & green striped scarf too, or uncolored.  I used Stampin’ Up! So Saffron as my accent color, and the blue snowflake paper is also Fred She Said. It’s from the Candle Glow Christmas Flower Set.  Both of these cards will be sent to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I think I will make some of the blue ones for Operation Write Home.  It’s too late for Christmas, but I think it would make a nice Winter card:)

Both Fred She Said and Doodle Pantry have new designs, click on their name and check out their stores! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today!:)  I’m off to make even more cards! 🙂  See you soon:)

Merry Monday #82, Fred She Said sponsors Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge

I have two more cards today:)  I’ve been staying up way too late! 😦  It’s the only time that it’s quiet around here;)  The first card is for the Merry Monday challenge #82. I used an earlier MM sketch from challenge #69.  I don’t think I did that challenge  at the time, but I thought it would work for this week:)  The challenge this week is to use Red, Aqua, White and use circles.

MM New Look Sketches-015Here’s the previous sketch I used:

MM69Here’s the card I made:

Half-fold Card1I honestly had no idea where I was going with this until I sat down and started to play.  I decided on the circle mints first.  I cut them with a Stampin’ Up! 1 inch punch out of a whole 12 x 12 sheet.  I love this paper!  I also love the background DSP, it’s the new Winter Frost paper from Stampin’ Up!.  It’s actually the back side of a sheet.  On top of that I use a little Whisper White and then one of the new In Colors, Coastal Cabana, looks like Auqa to me;)  The little stripes with dots, is like a paper ribbon that comes already glued.  I’ve actually had it for at least a year, and just now used it.  The sentiment stamp is from Inkadinkado, I’ve had  it for a very long time too:)  This card will be entered in the Merry Monday #82 challenge, but it will be mailed to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

My next card is for the Holly Jolly Christmas Challenge, sponsored by Fred She Said!  If you want a chance to win some Fred She Said images, head over there and enter!  I’m on the FSS Design Team so I can’t enter, but you can! 🙂  The theme for this challenge is Traditional Christmas Colors, with a twist.  So they would like to see Red, Green and Silver and/or Gold.  How easy is that?  I know you can do it! 🙂

For my card, I used an old sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, #93.  Here it is:

Here’s my second card:

Half-fold Card2 At the back I used Basic Black from Stampin’ Up!, on top of that I used a silver paper from Michaels.  Then Stampin’ Up! Garden Green embossed with a Sizzix folder.  I used more silver behind the SU Read Red stripe, and the Real Red square.  The main image is from  Fred She Said  called, Christmas Cardinal from the Christmas Bird Series. I LOVE Cardinals!!  I love so many of the Fred She Said images, I know I always say it’s one of my favorites, but this one really is at the top of the list!  I will also be sending this card to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  They are hoping to get enough cards so the children can give cards to their favorite nurses or doctors too:)

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  It’s always nice to be able to share my cards:)  More cardmaking for me tonight! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #110, OWH Midweek Throwdown & SAS4K

I’m back again with three new cards!  The first card I will enter into two challenges, Freshly Made Sketches #110, and Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown.  It’s late, so not a whole lot of details tonight.  This time change is really hard on everyone, the kids were all cranky and tired today! 😦  So here is the sketch:

FMS Final 110-001Here’s my card:

Half-fold Card1The digital images are from Doodle Pantry.  The set is called, Patriotic Sheep.  I also used DP Stars & Stripes Paper Pack.  They are both on the same page, click either name:)

As promised, here is my card for the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, plus an extra to go there:) My first card I made with teen boys in mind, I hear they dont’ get lots of cards just for them:(

Half-fold Card2This card is made with a 3D sticker.  I’m planning to make at least 2 more.  All my cardstocks are Stampin’ Up!.

Half-fold Card3This is my last card, it’s also made with a 3D sticker.  Kids love stickers! 🙂  I used an embossing folder and then just added my stickers.  I think it’s really cute:)  I think a younger child will love this card!  Send A Smile 4 Kids has hospitals with children of all ages.  I wanted to show you how you could use stickers to make quick cards that kids will enjoy.  I plan on making some more of these too:)

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  I hope this week goes well so I can make lots more cards! 🙂

Merry Monday #81, Doodle Pantry #40, and a special for my niece

I have two cards today, I will be entering them in two different challenges.  The challenges for today are Merry Monday #81, which is to use a Santa image.  The second challenge is for Doodle Pantry #40, and all I need to do is use a Doodle Pantry image😉

MM New Look Sketches-014Here is the card I will be entering into the challenge at Merry Monday#81

Half-fold Card4The Santa image is from a Doodle Pantry set called, Jolly Saint Nicholas.  The image, and both the red and green paper both come in the kit, plus more! The oval behind Santa is gold cardstock, as well as the bottom flag.  The Merry Christmas is a Peel Off, I’ve mentioned these before.  Santa’s hat has sparkles on it. This card will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂 This is not my card for this weeks challenge, I will be making another one;)  Yes, really! 🙂  I have to step up my game and get busy making lots of kids cards for Christmas!

My next card is for my niece, she loves anything to do with mustaches!

Half-fold Card5Okay, yes it’s the same Doodle Pantry kit for the Purple and the Santa;)  I GOT PERMISSION TO ALTER THE IMAGE!  The black mustache paper is from Hobby Lobby, the green paper is Stampin’ Up!, Garden Green.  I don’t remember where I got the ho! ho! ho! stamp.  Actually it has three different types of “ho” on the stamp, I just inked one; three times.  I used Spellbinders Circles, and a Stampin’ Up! Oval punch. I used a Stampin’ Up! Basic Black marker to color the mustache.

These cards were both Simply Made:)  In the next few weeks, I will be making some cards with different kinds of stickers.  Kid’s love stickers! 🙂  They will be simple to do, and hopefully give you some ideas for quick children’s cards.  Well, my cards are actually never very quick, I think too much. lol  But once I decide on a sketch, and the papers, I can do multiple cards pretty quickly;)

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  You all have been very quiet again.  I think I will have another comment contest in December, be sure to check back in for the details:)
