Merry Monday #159, Father’s Day, and SAS4Kids

I have lots of cards to show you today! 🙂  First, I would like to remind everyone to check out the Blog Candy I have for the month of May! 🙂

Next, I have a new card to enter into the challenge over at Merry Monday #159.

Need a little bit of inspiration for your Christmas cards?! You’ve come to the right place! There is still plenty of time for you to play along with Merry Monday #159! This week’s challenge is brought to you by our super talented, Debbie:

“Remember…have fun creating a Christmas card using “non-evergreen tree(s)” Have fun!

abSDC16053I’m assuming these are non-evergreen trees, at least I embossed them in Gold;)  I used half of a stamp for the Stampin’ Up! Christmas set, The Newborn King.  I love this set! 🙂  I can tell you how to get it at a discounted price!  If you’re interested, just let me know:)  I know it looks easy, but it actually took me almost a dozen tries to get it so I was satisfied!

First I stamped and embossed the entire stamp, which has more trees where the Glory is.  I had trouble getting the embossing powder to be just right😦  Then, I decided to go a whole different way!  This card actually has three different stamps from the set of 4.  I tried just stamping the left side, but I kept getting residue from the right side:(  You can tell I’ve never done this already;) lol  Then I took one of the images I didn’t like and cut it in half to make a template.  Ok, it was late and I really haven’t done this before…..really, my first time!

I stamped and embossed the left side, did the same for the right, and finally added the star.  I’ll be prepared to do this again! 😉  I didn’t have any Stampin’ Up! Gold paper on hand, so I used some from Recollections.  If you click on the image and make it larger, you can see the sparkle in the Gold paper:)  I really like how it turned out! 🙂  Of course, this will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids:) I actually make my cards so they can be found, many years from now by archeologists, I’m sure it will last until Christmas! 😉 lol

Now be prepared to be overwhelmed by Father’s Day cards! 🙂  My guest today is Holly Blaskie, from MI:)  Holly has sent cards several times and has done a wonderful job each time!  I truly appreciate all the cardmakers who send cards to me for SAS4Kids!! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA    SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo awesome trees! 🙂  Even though they both have trees, they are totally different! Holly has done a great job with both of these! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI know most dads love cars, and this one is really special:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow cool is this one?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love these!  The same sentiment, but totally different cards! 🙂  I’ll have to ask her about the footprints, I’m assuming it’s an embossing folder, but I’ve been wrong before;)  These could either be Father’s Day or just I Love You Dad cards:)

If you have a card for a kid, check out the challenge blog sponsored by Send A Smile 4 Kids, here🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I still have some Father’s Day cards to share, but I’ll also be adding more kids cards, so please come back and have a look! 🙂

Your Christmas card is very classy! Goodness you are a perfectionist. I’m sure the card will be well received. Love the Father’s Day cards. So very creative. My favourite is the one with the wolves.

  2. I love your Nativity scene, Janet Kay! It’s harder to stamp half than the whole thing in my opinion! You’ve done a great job here and I love the look of half the scene with the sentiment beside it! Thanks for sharing with us at Merry Monday!

Yes, the bootprints on my cards were made by using an embossing folder (by Darice). I LOVE your Christmas card!!! Very elegant and meaningful!!! You did a wonderful job!!!
