SAS4Kids with guest

I don’t have a card today that I made myself, but that’s ok, I have a bunch of guest cards for you to see! 🙂  Today my guest is Holly Blaskie, from Sherwood, MI:)  Here cards were sent to me to share with Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂  Holly is very generous and has shared cards previously:)

First I want to share the card that I will be entering for Holly into the blog challenge over at SAS4Kids.  The current challenge is Animal Cards for Kids.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAIsn’t this too cute?!  I don’t know where she got this image, but it’s adorable!:)  Wonderful image, paper and great coloring!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a great card for kids, and I do know where this image came from;)  This is a rubber stamp from Stampin’ Up!  I have this stamp also, but I don’t have the set:(  The set is called Fun In The Sun (retired).  Holly did a great job with this stamp using just enough color!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI also know where this image came from, Fred She Said, it’s called The Old Truck Digi. I’ve used this image in the past as well:)  This image was pre colored, the set some with 4 pre colored images and also B&W so you can color your own:)  It looks great with this layout and paper! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis card just makes me think of Summer:)  I think it would be a great card for a teen girl:)

Are these too cute or what?!  I had no idea these existed, I had to go find them!  I found out the balloon animals are from Avery Elle.  I’ve never heard of this company, but I do love these little animal balloons! 🙂  The paper is just perfect, and Holly used little stickers on the left side of the green balloon.  Little silver circles with color in the center.  I’ve used these before, I think they’re a great alternative to gems because they’re easier to mail:)  I can’t remember where they’re from, and I can’t find mine:(  Anyone know?  Please share in the comments:)

Holly has more in her box that I’ll share in a future post, or two;)  I love Holly’s clean and simple style, she does it so well! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you’ll come back soon! 🙂

Merry Monday #164

I have a really quick post tonight!  I’ve been working on several different projects this week, but had to stop what I was doing to make this card for Merry Monday #164!  I worked on this card all day today!!  I cut the paper wrong a couple of times, and couldn’t make some key decisions:(  I’m still iffy on a couple of things, but here we go! 🙂

164Hmmm, I was having trouble with “funky hats”, but I got the hat part right;)

abSDC16707This is a criss cross card, in case you’ve never seen one.  I love these cards, but they take a lot of work, and they end up kind of heavy!  I put the belly band on, but couldn’t decide if I wanted it.  In the past, I’ve embellished the band, but I didn’t want to take away from the other stuff going on.  So I took it off…..

abSDC16710The hat paper, the cute bear and the rub on that’s on the tab (hard to see, it’s a green snowflake), all came from Imaginisce.  I bought them several years ago, so don’t run out looking for it;)  The colored cardstock I bought at a craft store to go with the papers.

abSDC16712The front of the card does not move, you pull up the inside with the tab.  I love this little bear and his hat and scarf are all sparkly:)

abSDC16714This is the back of the pull up, I put white on it so someone can add a message.  This card will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  I’ll be back in a day or two to share more great cards from some guests, I hope you’ll come back to see them! 🙂

Merry Monday #163, another guest from SAS4Kids

Sorry, no dogs today, but I do have horses!:)  I love horses, cats and dogs! 🙂  Birds are nice and bunnies…..but today, it’s horses! 🙂  But first, I want to show you the card I made for Merry Monday Challenge #163🙂  The theme this week is Red & White:)

163I love Merry Monday!:)  Last week I received an honorable mention for the card I made! 🙂  You can see it here🙂  A great honor, thank you Merry Monday! 🙂  Now on to this weeks card:

aaSDC16666aThis card looks even better in hand! 🙂  I used Shimmery White cardstock from Stampin’ Up! (retired) It’s a shame they retired it, it’s great for watercoloring, which is what I did! 🙂  The Poinsettia is from Fred She Said, it comes colored, but I actually colored it myself!! 🙂  I know, strange things do happen! 😉 lol  Anyway….I used  Pointy Poinsettia Flowers DIGI & CUTFILE SET ( I copied that right out of the store) I didn’t realize Tracey had added the cutefile, I cut all mine by hand! 🙂  I would have to cut by hand anyway, I don’t have a cutting machine:(

First I printed the FSS file right onto the Shimmery White cardstock from Stampin’ Up!, then I cut them out, and then I colored them.  You could color them first is you like;)  I used the Aqua Painter brush from Stampin’ Up! and refill bottles of Real Red, and Old Olive.  If you click on my photo and enlarge it, you can see the shimmer:)  I gently pushed some of the petals up and used Stampin’ Up! Dimentionals to hold them in place.

For the base I used Real Red, also the middle strip.  I added some lace that I found in my stash.  The center pretty thing (technical term;) lol) I found at Hobby Lobby.  The white is embossed with Stampin’ Up! embossing folder, Petals a Plenty (retired).  I know it’s so sad to see all these pretty things retired, but of course Stampin’ Up! has more different pretty things! 🙂  I just can’t NOT use craft items that I have;) !

Ok, that’s enough about my card, now on to our guest for today!  I will be showcasing cards from another person who sends cards to me for Send A Smile 4 Kids, her name is Geri Dean:) Geri sent me a box with over 200 cards!!!  She is also sending to OWH until they shut down in Aug. 2015.  Geri doesn’t send a box but maybe every quarter, but it’s a nice surprise to get such a large box! 🙂  Thank you Geri!! 🙂  Geri does have some that are the same, you would have to with such a large number of cards, but I’ve pulled out some of my favorites:)

Geri sent a large number of cards with horses that are great! 🙂  I won’t show them all, there are too many, but here is a good sample:)

This card has an awesome 3D hat!  I’m pretty sure it’s faux leather, but it looks real! 🙂  What an awesome card! 🙂

These two cards have the same image, but look very different with the layouts Geri used!

I love both of these cards, the single horse has paper on the right that has been embossed.  The running horses is beautiful in hand, I love the image, the papers and the punched border! 🙂  I will have more of Geri’s horses in a future post:)  Here are some other cards that Geri made:

Geri really has a good eye for papers and colors!  This is a great stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI had trouble getting a good photo of these cards:(  The colors are more subtle than it shows in the photo, more like pastels.  They are so adorable and I have more to show you at a later time;)

Aren’t these too cute?!  Pretty colors for girls, nice layouts and paper:)  That’s it for today, more to come at a later date:)

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you can come again soon! 🙂  Check out the Merry Monday challenge, they have a new Christmas themed challenge every week! 🙂  Also check out the SAS4Kids challenge, they have a new challenge every other week! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #190, SAS4Kids, Guest

What do I have today?  Well, I have another deceptively easy card;)  There has got to be a way to make this cards that’s simple, although I tried Stampin’ Up! markers,  I wasn’t thrilled with the colors….I’m getting carried away…

Ok, I made a card! 🙂  I’m very pleased that I’ve made three cards this week! 🙂  My card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #190. Here’s their sketch:

FMS Final 190-001A lot of you may know that I stay pretty close to the sketches I do, so you won’t be surprised to see my card;)

abSDC16655So, I can see you’re thinking, how could this possibly be not simple?  As I started to tell you, I tried using my markers, but the orange just wasn’t bright enough:(  I tried different ways to use ink pads for both the black and orange with varying degrees of success:(  Finally, as I was falling asleep in my chair, I decided to ink the black part and cover what should be orange with tape.  I stamped the image in black and then stamped the orange pumpkin on a separate piece of card with the halloween from Stampin’ Up!s Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also covered the happy with tape.  The cat is part of a set from Stampin’ Up! called Tricky Treats (retired).  I then cut the banner with Bitty Banners, Framelits.

I used Memento Black for the cat image and halloween.  For the pumpkin, I used Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango.  The orange paper just came from my Halloween stash of papers.  The green behind it is Stampin’ Up! Old Olive.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Extra Large Oval punch for the cat, and behind the cat I used the Decorative Label punch. Yep, it looks simple, and I’m sure for some people it would be a piece of cake!  I think I should make cards during the day when I’m awake! 😉  Anyway…one more card to put in a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

Now on to my guest! 🙂  This guest has been featured before, Diane Herniman, from Canada:)  Diane doesn’t send many cards at a time, but they’re always awesome! 🙂  They all go straight to SAS4Kids! 🙂  Diane uses lots of personal photos of animals and plants from her home and yard:)  Here are some of Diane’s cards that she has sent over the last couple of months! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANope, not a card, this is the front of the envelope for the card I’m going to show you:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the back of the envelope!  Diane makes all her own envelopes using papers closely matching the themes of her cards.  She also adds a sticker to seal the envelope! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the outside of the card, you may be thinking, that looks like a regular card….

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s a side view, it’s an easel card:)

Here is the inside and the back! 🙂  I think Diane has a style all her own! 🙂  I couldn’t copy her cards if I tried!  I’ve held her cards in my hand, taken lots of photos, I still don’t believe I could make cards like hers!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s one of what Diane calls her “regular cards”.  Beautiful paper and an image from her garden:)

The inside, with what I’m sure is another photo from her garden, and an envelope:)

Another “regular card” and the inside:)  Diane’s cards just make me happy! 🙂  I can imagine her going to her garden and taking photos to share with our kids and their families:)

One more! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACard front, isn’t this so cute?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe inside and the back:)  Don’t like cats?  That’s ok, next time you can see her dogs! 😉

I hope you enjoyed the cards today! 🙂  Thanks for coming by, I hope to see you again soon! 🙂

Merry Monday #162, Friday Mashup #213 & SAS4Kids

I have a short post tonight with only two cards, but I made both of them:)  I’m actually entering another challenge, but the title was way too long! 😉  lol

My first card is for Merry Monday #162, their challenge is always a Christmas Challenge.  This week the challenge is to add one or more tags to your card.

162I’m also going to enter my card at the Doodle Panty challenge, Ants in my pantry digital challenge 6.  I know, what a long title, but their images are so cute, check them out! 🙂

This is a Doodle Pantry digital image called Charlie Sledding.  It’s a pre colored image, and I think it’ll be great for one of the kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂   Yes, I start early with Christmas, it’s so easy to get behind;) !   I used an embossing folder by Darice, some silver ribbon from Stampin’ Up!, a snowflake punch from Martha Stewart, and I printed the blue background paper on my computer.  The blue paper comes in the kit from Doodle Pantry:)  Oh, almost forgot,  The snowflake and the two glittery sides are Stampin’ Up! Glimmer Paper, Dazzling Diamonds.  I popped up the tag with Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Dimentionals.

My second card is for the challenge over at the Friday Mashup #213.

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project with the colors “Cajun Craze, Island Indigo and Garden Green”
  • Create a project with a “Father’s Day Theme”
  • or Mash it Up! and Create a project with “The challenge colors and a Father’s Day theme”.

abSDC15673I chose a Father’s Day Theme because I still had one card for Father’s Day that I had not posted yet:)  I love this card:)  I used a digital image from Fred She Said called, Emma In Her Cool Cap.  I used the pre colored version, but you can also get this image in black & white to color yourself:)  The papers are Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Soft Suede.  The heart border was made with a Stampin’ Up! punch called Confetti Hearts Border punch.  I took a few of the punch outs and added them on the top left.  I just printed the sentiment at the bottom of the image.

Thank you so much for coming by today! 🙂  I appreciate your interest! 🙂  I will be back in a few days with some more cards, hope to see you then! 🙂

Blog Candy Winners! Paper Pumpkin and SAS4Kids

Wow, another long title, sorry, I couldn’t resist! 🙂  There is a lot to cover, so lets get to it! 🙂

I did draw the Blog Candy winners! Anyone who know my Lawrence, knows he’s very generous! 🙂  Yep, he didn’t want to stop at 4 winners, he wanted to draw 6!  So I’ve been searching through my boxes (yes, still living out of boxes) for some extra Blog Candy;)  I was successful in my search, so I’ll post the winning names, and you will all have to look at my new list of prizes:)  But first, I have a card I made with my May Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin set! 🙂

04d5ca6e80621c44cf2a1d359a1a4d40So, this is the sample of what you can do with your May Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kit.  You can go on Pinterest and find a lot more samples, that’s what I did;)

And this is one of the cards I made:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe whole center portion I CASED from Patricia Allison, I found her card here on Pinterest.  I believe you need an account to see it, but signing up is free:)  Anyway….I cut the card base (supplied) in half and embossed the back (dark blue) with the stars embossing folder from Stampin’ Up!  Because the inside of the card base is white, I was able to sand off some of the stars and get it to look white in places.  I then mounted the whole thing on a white card base.

The central portion is almost all supplied in the kit!  The striped paper is the front of the card base.  The blue spotted paper is from one of the supplied gift bags, it has the balloon shaped cutout already done for you.  The yellow did come from a separate Designer Series Paper pack, but you could use the yellow tissue paper that’s supplied.  I cut the star out with a separate Stampin’ Up! punch, not included, also not included is the gem in the center of the star.   The Celebrate stamp is included, and I just stamped it on a white scrap and cut the ends with scissors.

Pinterest has a bunch of different samples, and I want to try a bunch of them! 🙂 This card will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂 You can also visit their blog challenge here🙂

Okay, now for the Winners of the Blog Candy, in no special order:

Angie Seyer

Karen Peterson

Vicki Luebke

Holly Scheibe

Bev Schoepke

Holly Blaskie

I need all of these ladies to please email me with your choices A-G, numbered in your preference from one to 7.  That means one will be left over for next time;) Please email me at

Now, just for fun, are some photos of Lawrence picking names from an Easter bucket! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is Lawrence helping with a digger, also named a hair clip;)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHe is so helpful! lol  Yes, it’s upside down! 😉  The rest of the names were pretty much the same;) lol  The first draw was everyone who commented, the second was everyone who sent in cards, and the rest of the draws were people who commented and sent cards:)

Here is my final list of prizes:

A-From Stampin’ Up, Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  I love this folder! 🙂

B-From Stampin’ Up, Tagtastic, cling mount stamp set.

Samples were part of the catalog display, not included.

C-From Stampin’ Up, You Brighten My Day, cling mount stamp set.

D- From me, die cut outs.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI cut these out myself and took a photo, all are included.  I have cats in black, top center and white so you can color yourself.  Kittens, in white, below the cats, and black.  I have puppies, in Stampin’ Up! Chocolate Chip and white.  There are two guitars one in silver and one in black.  Bottom left is a boy on a sled in black.  I love all of these cut outs, so I thought someone else might like them too:)

The last three items were purchased by me, but are brand new, and never used.  I was saving them for a future Blog Candy, but Lawrence feels very generous and he is so darn cute, how could I say no?! lol

E-simply sent-Happy Hello

This is a kit from Stampin’ Up! like the Paper Pumpkin, only simpler.  There are no stamps or ink, just card bases, embellishments and envelopes.

F-Stampin’ Up! Extreme Surfboard

This is a single wood mount stamp, great for guy cards:)

G-Stampin’ Up! Lotus Blossom

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a clear stamp set.  You need to have your own acrylic stamp blocks.

As an example-you could send me a list like:  G-1, A-2, D-3 etc

You will only get one prize, I will do my best to match you with what you like, but I will have Lawrence draw again to see what you win:)  Yay, winners!  I hope you’ll enjoy your final prize!! 🙂

Thank you all for coming by, even if you didn’t win.  I plan on having another drawing for Blog Candy in the Fall, probably Octoberish:)  I hope to see you again soon:)

Friday Mashup #212 and SAS4Kids

I made a card, YAY! 🙂  I’ve been so busy lately that I haven’t really had a lot of time to just sit down and make any cards:(  I also have a guest today, I didn’t add it on the title because they’ve been getting kind of long lately;)

So first up is the card I made for the Friday Mashup #212.

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:

  • Create a project with an “Ombre’ Element (background, embellishment, etc.)”
  • Create a project with an “Embellishment Cluster.”
  • or Mash it Up! and Create a project with an “Ombre’ element & embellishment cluster.”

I didn’t use a big embellishment cluster, just a small cluster of crystals and one pearl.  I did however use some Ombre’ digital paper:)  I found it on Pinterest, but this is the link.  You just need to scroll down a little:)  My main image is also digital, it can be found at Doodle Pantry, one of my favorite places!:)  My sentiment is in a set from Stampin’ Up! called Warm Words (retired).

It looks deceptively simple;)  I actually had to print it about 6 times to get the sizing just right.  I printed the background with the main image onto Matte photo paper.  I then added a small pearl to the purple shell near the bottom and 3 crystal bubbles.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment with Memento Black inkI used Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight for the backing cardstockHmmm, I guess it was pretty easy, except for the printing part;) lol

This card will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂  They also have a blog challenge that is for two weeks at a time:)  A new one just started, you can find it here🙂

For my guest today, I have a new card sender, at least to me;)  Some of her cards are A2, and some are a note card size, they’re all cute! 🙂  The guest today is Vicki Luebke from Ft. Wayne, IN.

Aren’t these adorable?!  I don’t know where she got all her images, but I found a number of them at Dollar Graphics Depot🙂 I’ve used images from there before as well:)  Here are some closer looks:)

I think these are just too cute, but I have a couple more:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love all the images and the layouts are great for the younger children! 🙂  Vicki did an awesome job of using cute and happy images with basic layouts that any age would find fun! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you enjoyed seeing all the cards! 🙂  I plan to come back soon, I have so much more to show you! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids and guests

Well, we’re leaving May behind and starting June, I can hardly believe how fast times flies by!  I have a one more Father’s Day card to share, and then we’re moving on! 🙂

I did not make these cards!  The cards I have today are made by people who send me cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids:)  I have volunteered to accept cards that are sent in from around the USA, I sort them, label them (if needed) and pack them up to deliver to a Children’s Hospital near my home:)  I have some wonderful cardmakers sending cards in for my hospital and I like to share their talents with you! 🙂

I have two cardmakers to highlight today:)  My first cardmaker actually has her own blog, her name is Andrea La Vigne, from TX.  You can find Andrea and the instructions for her cards here.  Both of the cards I’m showing are on her blog now, you just need to scroll down a little to find them both separately;)

Here is the first one:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love this card, it’s so great for a dad! 🙂  I know that this image is from Fred She Said, I’ve used it myself:)  Please visit Andrea for more details:)

Second card for Andrea:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANormally, I wouldn’t show someone elses cards if they have their own blog, but I love this card so much, that I asked Andrea for permission to show you all! 🙂   Don’t you love the colors?!!  I wish I had a hundred of these to share! 😉  If you love it too, be sure to go visit Andrea over on her blog to find out how she did it !:)

Next I have some cards that were sent in back in February.  These cards have since gone on to the hospital for a child to enjoy:)  I took photos to be able to share them here with you:)  These four cards were all made by Debbie Long, from Goose Creek, SC:)

Debbie sent multiples of these cards, I used some for Father’s Day, and the rest I’ve been using for masculine cards for the older patients.  These are great cards and could be used for any occasion! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA      SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at these, aren’t they handsome/adorable?!  I love the papers, colors, and image! 🙂  Debbie did a great job and I’m sure these cards were loved and appreciated! 🙂

I’d like thank all my card senders! 🙂  Everyone does a wonderful job and I know that any of the SAS4Kids hospitals that receive these cards are overwhelmed by the kindness of these gifts! 🙂

May is over, so I will be working on drawing the names for my May Blog Candy!  Anyone who made a comment or sent in cards in May was entered:)  I will have the winning names by June 15th! 🙂  Thank you to all who sent in cards and/or took the time to comment! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today to check out the cards! 🙂  I hope to be back soon:)
