Merry Monday #167, Freshly Made #197 & SAS4Kids

Wow, I have a lot going on today, and I also have a guest!  Are you ready?  Here is the info for Merry Monday #167:

167Here is the card I made, I wanted to do something different……

SDC17078bYes, there is a tiny heart, you probably need to click on it to see;)  There is a little green angel holding up a heart down by the “a” in Peace.  I was going through my storage and I found these little gift tags.  I outlined it with silver line peeloffs and the added the Holly leaf peeloffs.  The Merry Christmas is also a peeloff.  Peeloffs are very popular in other countries, you can get them in the USA.  I’ve found them here, look under stickers. I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red as my cardstock highlight color.

FMS+Final+197-001Freshly Made Sketches #197 is a sketch.  You all know I stay pretty close to the sketch;)

SDC17052Supplies for this card are all over the place!  I used some tree looking paper and the gray paper, both printed on my printer, from Raspberry Road.  Both are digital papers from different sets.  I should have written it down, but I didn’t:(  I  have tons of digital kits from Raspberry Road!  If anyone wants to know which sets, please just ask and I’ll look it up:)

The branch was cut from the same paper using a Quick Kutz die.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted in front of back, front won.  The moon was cut with the new Stampin’ Up! 2 inch circle punch, from Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry.  Of course, I used the Stampin’ Up! owl punch.  The eyes are Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo.  The owl gray front came from one of the Stampin’ Up! Halloween papers, I didn’t write that down either, I’m so sorry:(  But, I know the Happy Halloween stamp came from the Stampin’ Up! set Teeny Tiny Wishes🙂

Both of my cards are going into boxes for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂  SAS4Kids has a challenge blog, and this week the challenge is Christmas in July, check it out! 🙂

Now I have a guest today, Donna Wakefield from IN.  Donna is a repeating card donor and she also has a blog of her own.  You can go visit her and see what else she’s up to:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these too cute?!  Donna might say on her blog where she got these adorable penquins:)  I love all the blues! 🙂  All Donna’s cards will be going to one of my 3 hospitals, supplied by SAS4Kids! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERADonna send a number of these, and that’s ok, because I have 3 hospitals to share with! 🙂  These are awesome, and there are a couple more different designs! 🙂

Some really pretty girly cards!  I don’t know, maybe boys like flowers too:)  This looks like a Stampin’ Up! set:)  Really pretty colors! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAWow, these cards look really fun! 🙂  Who doesn’t like balloons or kites?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA    SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love this cute little birthday puppy, but the sand castle is my favorite today!  If you look close, you can see little footprints in the sand near the center!  Don’t you just love it? !  The sentiment is appropriate, because the whole card looks dreamy to me! 🙂

Thank you Donna for sending more fun and encouraging cards to our kids! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you enjoyed viewing all the cards! 🙂  I plan to be back soon with more cards to share! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids with guests

I have no personal card today, I have several I’m working on, but none are completely done:(  But that’s ok, because I have two guests who have sent in cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂 Today I have Holly Blaskie from MI, and Jill Blasche from TX.  Both of these ladies are repeat donors! 🙂

First up is Holly:

Holly has used one of my favorite images from Fred She Said called, Emma Blowing Bubbles🙂  She’s used a Clean and Simple design that really shows off the main image! 🙂  She’s also made two more:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI know I’ve shown some elaborate cards with lots of embellishments, and kids love them!  They also love C&S cards like these! 🙂  It’s been my experience that kids love cards! 🙂  I don’t think they would love it any more if it had sterling silver bubbles!  Kids love that someone took the time to make them a card!  They love that someone wrote something in that card, just for them! 🙂  Every card is important to us here at SAS4Kids! 🙂   We appreciate any style because we know you’re making them with love for the kids! 🙂

Clean & Simple is my personal favorite style! 🙂  Some people may not think so, but I struggle with card designs:(  I’m not a naturally born artist, I just want to be able to create!  Holly seems to have an easy flow to her cards, she might not agree, but that’s what I see:)

Two more wonderful cards, great for the kids! 🙂

I think these would be great cards for teens! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAWow, look at the awesome colors on this card! 🙂  I think this card would be great for a girl of any age! 🙂  Thank you Holly for all of your wonderful cards, I know the kids will really enjoy them! 🙂

Now on to Jill’s cards:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJill has a C&S style that’s stepped up a bit;)  Jill has awesome ribbons! 🙂  Look at these great ribbons to go with her main images! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA   SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese images also have matching ribbons!  Where does she find this stuff! ?  The blue one also has a gem that looks like the ribbon! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe dark purple with the bird and flowers, is a ribbon!  The sentiment on this card is awesome!  Sometimes all you have to believe in, is today!

How about these, are they fun or what?!  The watermelon on the right is made with a Stampin’ Up! set called, Work of Art. I know this because she ordered the set from me:)  What a great use of the stamp set, I think kids will love both of these cards! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are both cute cards!  If you click on the photo and enlarge it, you can see they’re a little different.  Both are embossed with dots, and both have colored dots, but the purple one is hand dotted with markers.  The blue card is dotted paper.  Jill asked which I liked better.  I think they’re both great, I’m sure a child will love either one!   Both are bright, cheerful and fun! 🙂  Thank you Jill for sending such wonderful cards to share with our kids! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today and looking at all the wonderful cards today! 🙂  I hope to see you again soon with one of my own cards as well as another guest! 🙂

Friday Mashup # 217 & SAS4Kids

Just a short post right now, I brought myself down to the wire for entering this cards into the Friday Mashup #217 challenge! 😦  I think during the summer, challenges should be for two weeks, just my personal opinion;)  With all the kids home from school and lots of extra activities, it’s sometimes hard to get any cards made! 😉  Anyway…..I got a card made, but didn’t have time to prepare my other photos, so I will be back later tonight or tomorrow with more cards:)

This week’s Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project with the “Sketch.”
  • Create a project with a “Pet theme.”
  • or Mash it Up and create a project with “Pets using the Sketch.”

FSS Emma 17036This is a Fred She Said digital image called, Emma & Rosey🙂  The set actually comes with the dress in a lot of different colors.  Or you can get just Emma, or either one in outline so you can color them yourself:)  I freely admit that I like to use pre-colored digital images because I just don’t color well! 😦  But Tracey does a wonderful job for me! 😉

The dog print paper I got from Etsy, I just entered “digital paper, dog paw prints” in the search bar.  I used Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight for the accent color, the sentiment is stamped in Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso.  The embossing folder if from Stampin’ Up!, it’s retired, but I love it:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe embossing folder runs the long way, so I cut my paper and ran it through my Big Shot.  I then taped the two pieces together with two small pieces of tape and then taped and glued the whole thing to my card.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a photo of how I tape and glue.  I want them to find my cards still in one piece in 100 years! lol  I use Tombow glue, you need to use little dots!  If you use too much of this glue, it will get your paper wet, just like any glue, but with tiny dots it will be fine and it will hold really well! 🙂

Tombow glueThis card will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids, of course;)  I’ll be back soon with more SAS4Kids cards to share! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  Feel free to add comments or questions:)

Butterfly Challenge #35

I made a card and had no challenge to enter it in:(   What to do?  I went out and found a challenge blog, of course! 🙂  It’s actually called the Butterfly Challenge and I’m going to enter my card into challenge #35! 🙂  I love butterflies, this should be fun! 🙂  Apparently they are working on a Letter challenge.  This week it’s a butterfly with the letter “T” and that stands for “Tallisman”.  I understand it to mean a charm. Here’s the card I made:

abSDC17007You can see my little charm upper, left corner.  It’s a little flower, my granddaughter approved my choice;)  My card is made with a new digital image by Fred She Said called, Doodled Flower Trio Cardfront.  I don’t know why she uses such long names, but they sure are gorgeous! 🙂  The set comes with lots of different color combos!  There is a SALE going on over at the Fred She Said store, but only until the 20th, so pop over there right away! 🙂

I used one of my favorite Stampin’ Up! embossing folders, I can’t believe they retired it, Framed Tulips.  I still love it and use it often! 🙂  The embossed cardstock is Pacific Point, and on top of that is Daffodil Delight, both Stampin’ Up!  I cut a small circle of Daffodil Delight and put my sentiment, that I stamped in Pacific Point, on top with a Stampin’ Dimentional.  The sentiment I used is from the Stampin’ Up! set, A Round Array.

I love Tracey’s uncluttered style! 🙂  This card will be perfect for one of the Send A Smile 4 Kids children! 🙂  I’m pretty sure I’ll be making more of these! 🙂  But since I can’t make cards fast enough for all our kids, I have two guests with me today who help make cards for SAS4Kids! 🙂  I know my card makers and I will be busy, because I’ve added two new hospitals!  I will not have three childrens hospitals to make and send cards to! 🙂

Here is my first guest card maker, Janelle Klapperich from SD.  Janelle has donated cards a number of times, and she’s sent in some different cards this time! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJanelle has told me most of the cards she sent in this box are made with a cutting machine.  She didn’t say which one, but they’re awesome, the kids will love them!! 🙂  Look at these, same car, different background papers! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA   SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow about these?  I had no idea you could do this!  Janelle really knows how to put a card together! 🙂

It seems to me this would take a long time cutting and putting them together!  It must be like a puzzle!  They sure do look great in hand! 🙂

On more machine cut card, and two made the “regular” way;)  Janelle’s cards are all great!  Thank you so much Janelle for sending all these cards in for the kids!! 🙂

Now, I have one more guest cardmaker tonight, she’s from MA, Judy McLeavey:)  Judy is a first time card maker for me, but she may have sent to one of our other locations:)

These two cards have the same basic layout, but they look different just using different paper:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJudy has used some really beautiful papers on her cards! 🙂  We can always use Thinking of you cards! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo simple layouts, but beautiful cards! 🙂

Two more great cards! 🙂  All of Judy’s cards will be sent to SAS4Kids, as well as Janelle’s:)  Thank you Judy for helping out with our cause! 🙂

Thank you for coming by today, I hope you’ll check out some of my links! 🙂  I hope you’ll come back again! 🙂

Two Digital Sales!

Just a quick post about 2 digital art sales.  These are my two favorite spots to go to for anything digital and they’re both having sales!!! 🙂  If you’ve ever wanted to try a digital image, now would be a good time! 🙂  First I’m going to show you two of my favorite cards with digital images.  If you’ve gone through my whole bog, or you’ve been with me since the beginning, you might remember these cards:)  First up is Doodle Pantry🙂

Poster3I really like this card and the truck image! 🙂  I was very proud of myself for using a striped embossing folder, and sponging it to match the truck:)  This is one of my early cards that I sent to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  This image is from Doodle Pantry called, Toy Truck Ants.  I thought it would be an awesome image for little boys! 🙂

Next a card from Fred She Said Designs.

Half-fold Card1I’m very proud of this card as well:)  I’ve received the most comments and compliments on this card:)  I love the Clean & Simple look, the pop of color and one of my favorite flowers, Tulips! 🙂  This is from Fred She Said, and is called, Parrot Tulip.

I love both of these stores and I’ve come to know the artists for both and consider them my friends.  I don’t feel they are competing, because they have very different styles and do very different images.  So I really couldn’t chose one or the other and tell you about their sales.  I hope you understand why I’m including them both, and I hope you’ll at least go visit both stores! 🙂  Now for the info you need! 🙂

Use coupon   BIGSUMMER
Thanks for coming by today and taking the time to look at my post! 🙂  I’ll be back soon with more cards! 🙂

Friday Mashup Challenge #216 & guests

Wow, a lot of prep for this post!  I started it last night by getting my photos ready, then uploading them today.  In the meantime, taking care of kids and dishes and cleaning, it’s a wonder I ever get to blog!  Anyway… I have a card for the Friday Mashup Challenge #216.

This weeks Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project with “a Summer Picnic theme”.
  • Create a project with “Sunshine”.
  • or Mash it Up! and create a project with ” a Summer Picnic and Sunshine theme”.

As always, I’m pretty literal, I have a Summer Picnic theme;)

abSDC16906If you click on the image, you can see all the little ants:)  This is a pre colored digital image from Doodle Pantry, appropriately called, Picnic Ants🙂 It’s a set and has some sentiments, printed papers, and plain colored papers.  My sentiment is from a Stampin’ Up! set called A Round Array (retired).  The set has 8 round designed sentiments and you could get a punch to match.  I promise I will be working with some new and current Stampin’ Up! products!  In any case, I used Stampin’ Up! cardstock for the back and ink, both Real Red.

I love how this came out and I think one of the kids will really enjoy receiving it, maybe I’ll make more! 🙂

Now, I have two guests lined up, we’ll see how many cards I can fit in:)  All of the following cards have already been sent to a hospital for the kids:)  My card will also be sent to the kids through the Send A Smile 4 Kids outreach.  First up, I have Angie Seyer, from SD.

These are so cute, wait until you see, all of Angie’s cards are cute! 🙂  I don’t have this set, but I know it’s from Stampin’ Up! called Fox & Friends (retired).  Angie uses this set a number of times in the cards she sent in:)  I will show more of these in the future:)

I do have this set, it’s also retired from Stampin’ Up!, called Toy Box.  I love the set, but I was having trouble coming up with new layouts:(  Angie has given me some great ideas with her cards! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s one more using the same Toy Box set:)  What a great layout!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is also a Stampin’ Up! set that I don’t have!  My hubby and I were both sure I had everything Stampin’ Up! 😉 lol  I had to look this set up, it’s called Forest Friends (retired).  I do have the sentiment stamp.  Stampin’ Up! Perfect Punches (retired).  So sad, I use this stamp set a lot!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI haven’t figured out what stamp set this is, but isn’t the card cute!?  Wonderful colors for a child! 🙂  Now something totally different from Angie.

I do have this Stampin’ Up! set, it’s called Papillon Potpourri, and it’s still available! 🙂  It has matching punches for the butterflies.  There are six in the set, three big and 3 smaller, both with punches:)  Of course, I have the stamps and the punches;) !  This is a great card with nice bright colors, someone is going to love this one! 🙂  I think I’ll enter this one in the SAS4Kids Challenge for this week, check it out! 🙂

Wow, that was fun, thanks Angie! 🙂  Now on to my next guest Karen Peterson:)  Karen has sent in cards that are great, but I don’t know anything about them.  Karen says they are all from Paper Wishes.  I’ve never heard of them, but she has made some great cards! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAKaren explained that she gets these sets that are kits.  Everything for the cards is in the kits, all you have to do is put them together.  This is a great boy card! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother great boy birthday card!  Really colorful, but masculine at the same time! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese two are beautiful!  I took a side photo so you could see how they stand on their own.  I had a little glare problem, but you can see these are covered with lots of gold!  Angie has done a beautiful job putting these cards together! 🙂  I have more cards from Angie that I will share in the Fall, she sent a number of Halloween cards, and some Christmas:)

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you enjoyed seeing the cards and have maybe gotten some ideas to use! 🙂  I hope to see you again soon! 🙂  I may change up my schedule some, it’s just too hard to post when Lawrence is running around! 😉    But I’ll be here! 🙂

Merry Monday #166, SAS4Kids and guests

I have another card! 🙂  I think I’m catching up with my schedule……for right now anyway;)  We’ll see how it goes:)  So today, I have a card for Merry Monday #166.   This is a two week challenge for the Summer.  Finally, I’m not posting my card on the last day! 😉  Here’s their challenge for the next two weeks:

166I know, penguins are so cute! 🙂  However, if I have a penguin stamp, I have no idea where it is:(  But not to worry, I went over to Doodle Pantry and used a digital image:)  I actually made a special request for this set it’s called, Winter Birthday.  I have a number of birthdays during the Winter months, so I figured other people must too:)  Now with most of my cards going to Send A Smile 4 Kids, it’s really nice to have a Winter Birthday set:)  So here is my card for this challenge:

Isn’t this too cute! ?  The other main image in the set is a snowman with a birthday cake.  The set includes some patterned paper, some plain papers, and some embellishments.  I used the patterned paper, the solid papers, the sentiment and the penguin, all from the same set.  I printed the penguin on my matte photo paper, trimmed it to the size I wanted, and then ran it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! (retired).  This card has been approved by all my grandchildren, at least the ones that live with me;)

Oh, dear, I almost forgot!  I’m going to enter this card in the  ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 7, over at Doodle Pantry.  They’re have a Sale going on right now, so go check them out here! 🙂

Now, on to my first guest, Terri Rizzo.  Terri sent cards in to me for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at this cute card! 🙂  I don’t know where Terri got this image, but I think it’s great for kids!  Here is a photo of the back also.  It has a little pull out that holds the card upright! 🙂  So simple, yet I’ve never thought to do it!  I know one of our kids will love this for their birthday! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother fun card from Terri:)  The one on the left looks like the cow and the words are both tipping over.  I wonder if she did that on purpose?

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATerri definitely has a sense of humor:)  I know this image came from Doodle Pantry, but I looked everywhere and can’t find it in the store.  If I find it, I’ll update this post:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOne more from Doodle Pantry.  This one is called, Toy Truck Ants.  I own this set too, I love it! 🙂

I know all of these images came from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  They come b&w and you have to color them yourself.  The one on the left is bubbles boy.  The blue and red cards are Superduper Boy, and Superduper Girl.  I love all these cards!  Great cards for kids and wonderful coloring by Terri! 🙂

Just a few more cards, I want to squeeze in some cards from Bev Schoepke.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t know where Bev got this cute ribbon, but I know she used the Cupcake Builder Punch from Stampin’ Up!  Too cute! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a great card too:)  Nice bright colors:)  Bev sent multiples of each of these cards, she also sent some Christmas cards that I’ll share at another time.  Thank you Bev and Terri for a wonderful group of cards!:)  All cards are appreciated by me and the kids we serve at Send A Smile 4 Kids!! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you enjoyed all the cards I was able to share! 🙂  Hope to see you again soon:)

Merry Monday #165 and SAS4Kids

Here’s another really short post.  I’ve been working on this card for two days!  Hubby has been off work all the kids are home and my daughter took two day trips and let me with everyone!  It’s been slow going making a card:(  But, everyone is finally in bed and I have a few minutes before I fall over and go to sleep!  This card actually took a while because I had to search for all the components and I changed my mind half way though;)

I’m going to enter this card in the Merry Monday #165 challenge🙂 This weeks challenge is candles and flowers:)  Of course, my card will be going into the Christmas box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

165Now, I was going in a totally different direction with this card, I even had the design “approved” by my daughter;)  I was going to use gold glitter paper as my background and gold ribbon.  Well, that’s not what I made;) lol

This is the paper I started with, I didn’t make it, I found it on Etsy listed as Bokeh Christmas Digital Paper.  I love this paper!  It’s actually a deeper red down on the left  and bottom.  I have so much trouble getting all the colors to look just right with the lighting I have available:(

The Bokeh looked like reflections of the candle light to me.  Anyway…..I used an image from Fred She Said called, Christmas Rose Coloured Set.  I cut it out with a Spellbinders die, and popped it up with Stampin’ Up! dimentionals.  I also used Stampin’ Up! 1/8″ Ribbon Taffeta (retired).  The top corner snow is called Snowflake Corner, by Memory Box.

I’m still living partially out of boxes, so I had to search for my ribbon and my Memory Box die, so annoying! 😦  I was going to use what I had on hand (gold) but then decided I really wanted the white:)  I hope you like my card, it really was Simply Made;)

Thanks for coming by to look at my blog! 🙂  Most people will probably be out watching fireworks, but two of my little ones are afraid of the noise, so I put them down early, hoping they would sleep through it.  So sad:(  Lawrence was actually excited about the fireworks until he remembered how loud they are:(   I hope you all have had a safe and happy 4th! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #193 and SAS4Kids

I made another card, that’s two this week! 🙂  Yay, me! 🙂  Ok, it’s a simple card, but I made it myself! 🙂  I also have a guest today, that’s always fun! 🙂  Am I excited, as excited as I can be at 9pm! lol  Hope you’re ready for some cards! 🙂

My card will be entered into the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #193.  Here’s their sketch for this week:

FMS Final 193-001If you’ve been here before, you know I stick pretty close to the sketches;)  Something a little different today, I used the supplies from the June Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin kit.

abSDC16829All the supplies for this card came out of the kit, I just put the supplies together to match the sketch.  Here’s a peek at what Stampin’ Up! shows for the June kit. You can contact me for info, or go to this site.

It’s fun getting the whole set sent right to your door:)  The kits aren’t all cards though, and it’s a surprise every month;)  No I don’t get to know ahead of time:(

Now, on to our guest for today! 🙂  I have cards from Jill Blasche, of TX today! 🙂  Jill does wonderful cards, her style is kind of like mine, all over the place! lol  But mostly clean & simple;)  So here’s what Jill sent in to Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo great cards, completely different! 🙂  I don’t know where Jill got these paper or images, but I like them!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATo more great cards, these look like little girl cards.  I love the kitty ribbon! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo more, completely different! 🙂

Boy cards, aren’t they great!?  We always run short of teen and boy cards:(  I do know where she got the sport squares.  I have the same pad of boys paper, I bought it last year at Michaels, or maybe the year before;)

One last cards from Jill:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love this card, it’s very neutral, so could be for a boy or a girl:)  Thank you Jill for all the wonderful cards for our kids! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  It’s the 4th of July weekend:)  I hope everyone has a safe and fun holiday!! 🙂  See you soon! 🙂
