Freshly Made Sketches #279 & Easter

I thought I would have so much time after I moved to my own apartment……it’s not turning out that way yet! 😦  Sorry there is so much time between posts, I still have hope that things will work out and I’ll have more time to craft πŸ™‚

I did make a card this week and I’ll enter it over at Freshly Made Sketches #279 πŸ™‚Β  I’ve made this card for a very special reason!Β  This card is kind of simple, and masculine. I had teen boys in mind while making this card.Β  I don’t think teen boys, want to be seen walking around with Easter bunnies or chicks on their cards! lolΒ  That would just be too much!Β  So I designed a card so they can also enjoy getting a card without looking childlike.Β  Here is the sketch #279:

FMS Final 279-001

I used a retired Stampin’ Up! set called “For Peeps Sake”.Β  I also used Stampin’ Up! papers and cardstock.Β  I’m pretty pleased with it, I hope it gives you some inspiration for some teen, boy cards πŸ™‚

I have donor cards today! πŸ™‚Β  This has become my custom, for anyone unaware, these are cards made by donors for Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  You can check out our blog and even join in the fun of challenges πŸ™‚

Today I have several ladies’ cards to share, first is Diane Herniman from Canada! πŸ™‚

Diane’s cards look like regular cards, but they’re not.Β  These are card fronts only!

These images show how Diane creates on every surface of her cards, no blank spaces for Diane, or the kids who receive her cards! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for your special cards for the Kids! πŸ™‚

Next is Debbie Caldwell of MI πŸ™‚

Debbie has some great ideas how to use the same image and make it look different! πŸ™‚

Okay, these aren’t Easter, I just loved them so much! πŸ™‚Β  I’m always looking for teen cards, and I thought of teen girls the minute I saw these! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Debbie for your great examples, and for sending your cards for the kids! πŸ™‚

Next is Donna Wakefield of IN πŸ™‚

I have three hospitals in IL, one of them is a religious hospital and I am the only SAS4K volunteer that accepts religious cards πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Donna for remembering this special hospital and all the other kids! πŸ™‚

My third donor is from TX, Roberta Giefer πŸ™‚

The last four cards look like they could be for older kids or teens πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Roberta for your great cards for our kids, lots of smiles here! πŸ™‚

Lastly IΒ  have Jill Blasche, also of TX and her friend Jan Kloss πŸ™‚Β  Jan will be first πŸ™‚

Jan sent some other cards, but these were her Easter cards πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jan, these are so cute, I know the kids will love these! πŸ™‚

Are you seeing double?Β  I have another hospital that requests cards with no embellishments.Β  Jill does a wonderful job of making cards for this hospital and shows how easy it is! πŸ™‚Β  The four cards at the top are regular cards for Jill and could be used at any of my hospitals.Β  But the last 8 cards, if you look closely, the cards on the left have all been modified in a small way for my “no embellishment” hospital πŸ™‚

The Easter bunnies in the eggs have paper flowers on the left and flower brads on the right. The Easter bunnies hiding in the grass, have paper bows on the left and ribbon on the right. Same goes for the blue flower cards.Β  The last card with the trees has paper “eggs” in the grass, the one on the right has gem “eggs”.Β  Simple changes that make a big difference! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for always thinking of ways to help me do the best job I can for all of my hospitals! πŸ™‚

Wonderful cards from all my card makers, even the ones not shown here! πŸ™‚Β  You can visit our Facebook page to see more cards that were sent in:

Thank you all for coming by, I love to show off the cards received for our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you can come by again soon, and also click on some of my links! πŸ™‚

  1. Jill

These are all such adorable, cheerful and creative cards. Janet keeps thanking us for all our work, but we need to thank her for all she does. These cards are nothing until she takes the time to sort, box and mail them to the various charities. Thank you, Janet, for all your dedication and hard work. It’s fun making cards for you and your hospitals!

  2. You’ve created an excellent teen boy card for Easter! And that is no small feat! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
