Hi everyone, I have a very short post today. I wanted to share some cards I’ve made and a couple of sites I use for clipart and background papers 🙂 I have some cards that I’ve made over the last 4 days, I don’t know how I got so many done, except that they have pretty simple layouts and they all use digital art 🙂
My first card I will enter into our own SAS4Kids challenge, which is currently “Anything goes for kids”. I didn’t receive very many Summer cards, so I decided to make some 🙂 I decided what girls love right now are Mermaids and Unicorns, so I made some Mermaids first 🙂
How cute is this little mermaid?! I found it on Etsy, who knew right? 🙂 The vendor didn’t have any matching papers so I found another site that seemed to match. But guess what? I asked the vendor if she could supply matching papers and she said “yes”! I paid extra for them, but guess what?! She’s having a SALE, $1.00 per set! 🙂 The Sale is until June 11th, but she said she will have another sale, a different one, after that! 🙂
No she didn’t supply me with any images for free, but she has tons of them, great for kids! 🙂 You can check her out on Etsy here, it’s called clipartland 🙂 These are digital images and papers, that I printed out on my personal printer. Here are some more cards.
Very simple cards, but I think kids will love them 🙂 I added some Stickles to the “pearls”. Of course it’s hard to tell here. All of the cards are flat, except the first one I showed. For that one I used some special foam. It’s pretty thin, thinner than a pop-up. I cut it out with the oval die I used for the image and then just glued it on the back. I think you can tell in the photo that it’s not flat 🙂
Lawrence wasn’t a lot of help on these cards 😦 He did say he thought a “girl” might like the ones that had crowns. lol Maybe he’ll like the next cards I make better 😉
I’d also like to share another shop where I get digital images, Fred She Said Designs. I didn’t make a card to show, but I’ve made plenty of them and you can search with the bar on the left. Tracy just put up a bunch of beautiful butterflies, but she has lots of images to choose from, she also has some cut files 🙂 You can also check out her blog here.
One last site that you may like for digital images is called Dollar Graphics Depot 🙂 They have some new language about “sharables” on the home page. I was confused so I asked for clarification. The response said we are free to use any of the images in the store to make cards to sell or give away, but you can’t give away or sell the digital files to others.
If you’ve never used digital images, you do need to set up folders on your computer to store the files. I also use Print Shop to change the size of my images and print them.
If you have questions, you can leave them here or send me an email 🙂 I hope you enjoyed my post today and you’ll come back again! 🙂 I’ll be preparing more donor cards to showcase 🙂
