Merry Monday #197, Easter & SAS4Kids

This has been a horrible month for me! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I had Strep Throat, a cold, and now a Sinus infection! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I am not a happy camper:(

What cheers me up is to make cards, sort cards, box cards & send cards!ย  Actually, anything that involves cards makes me smile! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  So I’m here to share some Easter cards with you! ๐Ÿ™‚

First, my card, is for Merry Monday #197.

197 aaSDC19704

One of my card makers used this embossing folder by Darise, I loved it so much, I had to get it!ย  It folds up at the corners and looks like a photo frame:)ย  Here’s a side view:

aSDC19709

For this card I used the Darise Embossing Folder, I think it’s actually called Photo Frame.I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, White Glimmer Paper, and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.ย  I used a digital image from BellasScrapsnClips on Etsy.ย  One more photo to show you the Wink of Stella:)

bbSDC19710

I put the Wink of Stella on all the snow, I think it looks really pretty! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Next I have some guests with Easter cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First up is Cyndie Reis of CA:)ย  Cyndie has sent in cards a couple of times now:)

Aren’t these cute!?ย  The colors, the papers the cutouts, all are so adorable! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you so much Cyndie for finding us and sending cards in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Holly Blaskie is a repeat sender from MI:)

Pretty colors and images, the kids will love these! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love these papers and colors, so Springy! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I adore this little lamb from Stampin’ Up! so cute for Easter! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Holly, your cards are always wonderful! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lastly I have Lee Mae Elkins of WA:)ย  Lee Mae has her own blog that you can visit here, http://boxesofdogs.blogspot.com/

Lee Mae has sent in a wide variety of cards and very few duplicates, where does she find the time?!

Some really great cards for the boys, and the ones on the right, I think would be great for teens:)

Simple layouts, but great papers and images make them special! ๐Ÿ™‚

More cute cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

These cards are adorable, love the papers and images!

I love all of these cards!ย  The two on the left are so different from the rest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The two on the right are also so stinkin’ cute!ย  Thank you Lee Mae for sending so many different cards, I know the kids will love all of them! ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I’m exhausted and ready for bed!ย  Maybe I’ll take a nap and get up again, who knows;)ย  Thanks so much for coming by today, I really appreciate your interest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m hoping to get well at some point soon so I can get back to some kind of schedule.ย  I’m sorry if I’m not as cherry as usual:(

I’m wishing all of you a very Happy Easter, I hope you can enjoy it with people you love! ๐Ÿ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #228 & SAS4Kids

I know I say this all the time, but……I am so far behind!ย  I missed a whole week, I’m so sorry! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I’m going to make up for it by showing you lots of cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First, I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #228 ๐Ÿ™‚

FMS Final 228-001

aSDC19687

This card is mostly digital, with my main image coming from Raspberry Road Designs ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can’t remember exactly which set it was from, but if you’d like to know just ask:)ย  The blue paper was also in the set, I printed it with the main image on Epson Presentation Paper-Matteย  I really like this paper because it’s nice and thick so you can print and cut things and still pop them up if you would like to.ย  The sentiment came from a stamp set that was gifted to me.ย  I think it was Markie’sย  Finest Paper, but I won’t swear to that;)ย  I mounted the whole thing onto a white base, because that’s what I usually do:)ย  Quite Simply Made, but I think a kid in the hospital is going to love it when added to a box of Send A Smile 4 Kids cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now for more SAS4Kids cards, I have a number of guests:)ย  We’ll see how many we can fit in;)ย  First up is Lisa Simokaitis of IL, Lisa is a first time sender to me:)

Lisa sent these really beautiful Easter cards and a number of others:)ย  Thank you Lisa for thinking of our kids, these are beautiful cards for our kids and/or their parents! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! ๐Ÿ™‚

Judy Martin is from PA, and has sent cards a few times:)

Judy has done a lot of water coloring on her cards, lovely! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aren’t these adorable! ?ย  I’m not sure about the chicks, but the other 3 cards are Lawn Fawn! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love how she used the pink polka dot cut-out on the green card! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Judy for being on my team! ๐Ÿ™‚

Donna Wakefield has sent cards in many times:)ย  Her cards are usually one of a kind, and they’re always great! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Donna has her own blog that you can go visit:)ย  http://designbydonna.blogspot.com/

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Don’t you just love these!?ย  Be sure to check out Donna’s blog to see how she makes her cards!ย  Thank you Donna for always keeping our kids in mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next is Andrea La Vigne from TX:)ย  Andrea has sent cards in more than a few times, and she also has a blog you can visit! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  http://andreaspaperantics.blogspot.com/

Andrea doesn’t send a lot of cards at a time, but what she sends are great cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย ย  Andrea also does a lot of water coloring:)ย  Thank you Andrea for always sending cards for the kids, I know they love your cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Karin Hendrickson is from MO, she also doesn’t send a lot of cards at one time, but she sends pretty often:)

Karin makes these really beautiful cards, I think they’re screen fold cards, but I’m not sure.ย  Beside Easter she sent a number for Mother’s Day, which hopefully I’ll remember to show you at a later time;)ย  I love all the cute images and the flower is just beautiful in hand! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a closer look, isn’t this wonderful! ?ย  She’s sent these in before for other holidays, these must be so much fun for the kids to sit next to their beds! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Karin for making such thoughtful, and fun cards for our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

I told you, tons of cards today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Two more guests!ย  First is Jan Kloss of TX:)ย  Jan is a friend of my friend Jill Blasche:)ย  They like to get together and craft, so you’ll see some of the same papers used by each, but their cards are not the same:)

Jan’s cards are so cute, I actually used some for Easter and some for Spring, she sent multiples of each of these! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Jan, I love seeing your cards in Jill’s boxes! ๐Ÿ™‚

Jill Blasche is a good friend of mine from TX:)ย  I love getting her cards, she always sends multiples so each of my three hospitals are sure to get some! ๐Ÿ™‚

On the left are two of Jill’s examples of how she makes for my “regular” hospitals and for my “no embellishment” hospital.ย  She is so clever, they are pretty much the same, but the “regular” hospitals get ribbon and gems, the “no embellishment hospital doesn’t.ย  Not so hard, if I didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference;)ย  On the right, you can see some of the paper Jan used, but the cards don’t look the same:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I love these two cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The one on the left is great for my “no embellishment” hospital and the one on the right is great for my other hospitals! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Same sentiment, but totally different cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Jill for always being open to a challenge and thinking of all my kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope I didn’t wear you all out today with all the wonderful examples of cards to make for kids, or anyone! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can’t express how much my card makers mean to me and the kids I serve! ๐Ÿ™‚

I want to thank everyone for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope I can come back sooner to share some more great cards with you all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Be sure to visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see more cards or to join in! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Tomorrow will start a new challenge, “For the Boys”.

Merry Monday #194, Easter, SAS4Kids

OMGoodness, I am soooo tired! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I found out today that I have Strep Throat:(ย  I’m going to do this post and head straight to bed!

I have a card for the challenge over at Merry Monday #194.ย  I actually made it a couple of days ago, but I’ve just been so tired:(ย  I’m going to show you my card and then I have one guest today with Easter cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

194

aSDC19477

I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red c/s and embossing folder, Petals aย  Plenty, one of my favorite embossing folders:)ย  The image came from an online seller that I believe is no longer in business, PC Hugs.ย  The sentiment I printed off my computer.ย  I think I used a Martha Stewart punch for the snowflake, and I put a sequin in the center.ย  I left a white border around my image, I think it looks like an old snapshot:)

My guest today is from Canada and I’ve shown her cards before, Diane Herniman:)ย  Diane make her special cards using a lot of photos from her personal garden:)

On the left is the back of the card, and on the right is the inside.ย  It’s a little strange because this is the first time I remember there being a blank area on one of Diane’s cards.

Here is a side view on the left.ย  I wanted to try and show you how the embossing folder folds upwards and makes a lovely frame for Diane’s flowers! ๐Ÿ™‚

On the far left is the handmade envelope, and then the back of the card.ย  On the right is the inside of the card, with photos from the garden:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

This is the outside of the card, you can see more detail of that embossing folder.ย  You put the image in the center and then carefully fold the edges up.ย  Reminds me of a photo frame:)

Ont he left is the inside of the card, and on the right, the outside.

The inside is on the left and the outside is on the right.ย  What adorable baby bunnies! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are a few Mother’s Day cards to get you started:)

On the left are the three insides that go with the cards on the right.ย  Diane sure knows how to pick papers and colors! ๐Ÿ™‚

Look at the gorgeous card with flowers from Diane’s garden!ย  The front of the card on the right shows the embossing folder really well, it’s a lovely design! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you Diane for sharing your works of heart with our kids in the hospital!ย  They will love all the Easter cards and they will love sharing these cards with their mothers! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have a new challenge up over on our SAS4Kids blog, pop over and check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I’m always happy to have visitors! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  hope to see you again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m going to have some hot tea and then go to bed!ย  I hope you’re all well and enjoying this weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Doodle Pantry #14, SAS4Kids, Guests

It seems I’ve settled into posting once a week, but I’m going to try and post twice a week:)ย  It’s just so darn busy around here!ย  With 7 people in one apartment, we just seem to recycle all the germs! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Anyway, I’m going to enter this card in the challenge at Doodle Pantry, ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 14. ย  Also, at our own, SAS4Kids, Anything Goes 4 Kids Challenge.

aSDC19170

aSDC19176

I actually made this card for my brother’s birthday.ย  My “baby” brother just turned 57, so hard to believe!ย  I like this card so much, I’m going to make more than a couple of them for the kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

I used an image from Doodle Pantry, they are one of our sponsors over at our SAS4Kids challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  This image is called Sweet Stuff and it’s free with any purchase! ๐Ÿ™‚ The stripe paper is also in the kit with other candies and papers:)

I used a number of Stampin’ Up! products and I will list them in this paragraph.ย  Embossing folder Large Polka Dot, cardstock, Real Red & Daffodil Delight, Stamp set A Round Array,ย  with circle punches 1″ round, 7/8″ scallop, and for the inside I used the 1/2″ circle punch for the gumballs, and Smoky Slate ink pad.

The little blue gumball was cut from one of the papers I printed from the DP kit:)

Now on to some guests! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I have quite a collection tonight of mixed cards and some Easter:)ย  My first guest is Robin Hayworth from NY:)ย  Robin is a retired Dr. and her cards are clean & simple! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aren’t these cute, I love them all!ย  These are great cards for not only the younger ones but up into the next age group:)ย  Great encouragement cards!

I love all the colors on these, bright and fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are some that would be great for the older kids!ย  The flowers look hand painted! ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you Robin for these great cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

My next guest is Kayla Ford from IL, my home state:)ย  Kayla is going to knock you out with her colors and papers!

What did I tell you, bright and fun!ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

Even the “plain” kite card is adorable!ย  These cards will bring sunshine to any room!ย  Thank you Kayla for sharing your talent with our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Jill Blasche from TX is next, she has been with me since I started and I love how I can ask her to make cards a certain way, and she does ๐Ÿ™‚

Jill has a lot of sentiment stamps that I love!ย  Look how different these cards are!

I had asked Jill to make some cards for teen boys, aren’t these great! ?ย  Not girly at all!

I hope you get a kick out of the ones on the left:)ย  My grandson, 4, colored these dinos, and I showed Jill, she asked if Lawrence would color some for her, and here they are!ย  I think she did an awesome job, and so does Lawrence! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  On the right, the tea cup card, has some beautiful gold stitching across the center, and I sent her the rose.ย  It’s new from Stampin’ Up! the stamp set is called Rose Wonder, but all I used was the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.ย  I used my Big Shot to cut it out of white card stock, then I colored it with Blendabilities (retired).ย  I love the way Jill put it on the sparkly craft cardstock and embossed it with dots all over! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Jill, for sharing with our kids and being a wonderful friend! ๐Ÿ™‚

This post is getting pretty long, so one more guest, Ruby Taylor, from MS:)

These are so cute and bright, Ruby made several of each design, so more kids can enjoy them! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Ruby and all of my card makers, you are talented and generous! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I appreciate every single one of you! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m excited every time I get a box to share with our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you everyone who has stopped by today to visit, I appreciate you too! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the cards and maybe got some inspiration for your own cards.ย  Please visit our sponsor, Doodle Pantry, and our SAS4Kids challenge blog! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Hope to see you again soon!

Happy Mother’s Day at SAS4Kids

Mother’s Day is coming next month! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I finally made some cards that I’ve been seeing everywhere!ย  I love these cards and I think they’re great for Mother’s Day:) So I’m going to get right to it.ย  I made all these cards myself:)ย  I’m going to enter one into the challenge over at Send A Smile 4 Kids, take a look:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is what the paper looked like before I cut it up.ย  It’s a sheet from Stampin’ Up! called Painted Blooms.ย  The other side is beautiful too! ๐Ÿ™‚

abSDC15175abSDC15169abSDC15178

I did the top row first. I used Soft Sky for the words and background.ย  I felt the words came out too light.ย  One the second card, I also used Soft Sky for the background, but Blushing Bride for the sentiment background.ย  I used Rose Red for the rest of the sentiments because I liked the way it looked;)ย  The third card, I used Crushed Curry, even though that wasn’t one of the colors listed for the paper package.ย  I thought it went better with the flower centers.

abSDC15172abSDC15174abSDC15170

On this row, I used Blackberry Bliss, Soft Sky and Rose Red for the backgrounds.ย  The center one has a little butterfly cut from the reverse side.ย  The card on the right has Dazzling Delights added to the purple flowers.ย  I couldn’t find any SU sentiments that I liked so I used a Mother’s Day stamp from Recollections, the Michaels brand.

There’s no shipping charges on any Stampin’ Up! order this week until Friday, April 10th! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Let me know if you would like to order anything:)

Here are some Birthday cards I made:)

abSDC15323

abSDC15181For this one, I used some paper out of a stack by Prima, called Firefly, I think it’s retired, but still beautiful:)ย  This is one of the more plain papers, my granddaughter picked it out:)ย  I cut it with a Memory Box die, Grand Happy Birthday.ย  I added a little bow in Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight.ย  The bird I got from Dozens Of Paper Cuts on Etsy.ย  I ordered two sets and I requested Stampin’ Up! Brights and Subtles.ย  Sue does a great job! ๐Ÿ™‚

abSDC15201Another bird from Dozens Of Paper Cuts. I used the same Memory Box Die as above.ย  I stamped the birthday hat from a SU set that I just can’t remember right now:(ย  I cut out the hat part and then cut a small circle with a Stampin’ Up! hand punch, I think the 1/16th.ย  The paper is Night of Navy, and the DSP is from the current Occasions catalog, it’s called Birthday Bash Specialty because it has some embossed gold foil.ย  I printed mine with My Digital Studio.ย  I’m going to use the “real” paper next time to get the gold embossing:)

abSDC15203Again I used Designer Series Paper, Birthday Bash Specialty, and Night of Navy. I used the same Memory Box Die.ย  The little dragon is from Lawn Fawn, called Critters Ever After.ย  It has a matching die set.ย  The balloons I cut out of SU cardstock, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight, and I think Old Olive, but I could be wrong about the green.ย  I colored the dragon with my Stampabilities markers.ย  I drew the balloon strings with my SU white pen.ย  I did use My Digital Studio to print my Birthday Bash paper, so it doesn’t have any gold in it:(ย  I like it, but I will use my paper package next time:)

I forgot to post some of my own Easter cards so I will add those here.ย  I made them for SAS4Kids, I was thinking teenager cards;)

abSDC15120

For these I used a new stamp set from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog called, For Peeps’ Sake.ย  The SU DSP is retired, Kaleidoscope.ย  I got it when it was in the Clearance Rack! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I used SU Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay as my background cardstock.

Please be sure to read my post about my May Blog Candy!

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m not sure what I’ll be posting yet, it will be a surprise for all of us;)

One last Easter post with a guest

Okay, I’m sneaking in with one more Easter card:)ย  My guest today is Gail Beggs from Illinois, my home state:)ย  Gail actually sells cards on ebay, but she sent me a lovely box of cards as a donation for the kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  You can find Gail and her cards here.ย  Gail sent a number of great cards for kids plus some Easter andย  Mother’s Day, which, surprise, I will show you as well:)ย  Now for the Easter cards:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese cards are both made with Stampin’ Up! products.ย  The embossing folder used is the same as the one I will be sending out in May to one lucky winner:)ย ย  You can read about the May Blog Candy here๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love everything about these cards, the colors, the embossing folder, the flowers, the crosses…… beautiful! ๐Ÿ™‚ ย  At this time, I am the only SAS4K hospital that accepts religious cards.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAIsn’t this a sweet Mother’s Day card?ย  The sentiment looks better in hand than in this photo.ย  I love the colors and the gentle flowers, someone’s mother will really enjoy this card:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow about this card, is this one too cute?ย  She sent a few of these, I think someone’s mom will love this one too:)ย  I love the image, colors and sentiment! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Gail is very creative and I know she has recently put up new cards:)

Take a look around the Send A Smile 4 Kids blog, this is the link for their card challenge. You can enter your cards and maybe win some freebies for yourself! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today:)ย  I do appreciate everyone who stops by and takes a look:)ย  I’ve been making my own cards and will be back again soon to show some off:)

SAS4K with another guest with Easter

I think this will be my last post with Easter cards……I may be able to squeeze in one more…..we’ll see:)ย  For today I have another Easter card made by Diane Herniman from Canada:)ย  Diane makes beautiful cards that I couldn’t CASE in a million years!ย  Diane uses lots of photos that she’s taken herself in her gardens!ย  They are truly one of a kind cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

This card, as well as the other cards she has sent to me, have already been boxed up and sent to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois:)ย  Diane and many others, donate their time and efforts to make sure the children at the hospitals served through Send A Smile 4 Kids, have cards to brighten their days at the hospital:)ย  I know it makes me and many others happy to do this for the children! ๐Ÿ™‚

What you’re going to see today is one card, with photos in and out, be sure and see all the photos:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the handmade envelope.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the back of the card. So cute for the kids:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the front of the card.ย  I love the bunny from Diane’s garden, and look at that cute paper! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the inside of Diane’s card.ย  Usually our cards are blank inside and on the backs, so don’t let this scare you.ย  SAS4Kids, does not expect all cards to look like this!ย  But isn’t it beautiful?ย  Look at those darling little bunnies in their nest.ย  Even though there are things inside this card, there is still room for a personal note:)

Diane has a talent that she is sharing with our children!ย  I am so thankful to have been able to receive some of her cards to share with the children in “my” hospital! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  However, if you have sent me cards for the kids, or are thinking about doing so, I love all the cards that come in through me!ย  Everyone has a different talent to share!ย  I have showcased other cards from other donors, and I appreciate every single one!ย  I know the children in the hospital appreciate every card that they receive!ย  I have spoken with “my” hospital, every card that I have sent in so far has been given to a child:)

At the Children’s Hospital of Illinois, the children are all different ages.ย  The different cards I receive are good for certain ages.ย  I leave it up to the staff at the hospital to determine who gets which card.ย  Some of your cards will be used by the children to give to their parents or siblings.ย  I will be posting some of the cards I’ve made soon, and you will see that my cards don’t look like this!ย  I’m proud of my cards, I try to make them for certain age groups, and most of them are pretty simple. I do the best job I can, with the children and parents in mind:)ย  I don’t compare my cards to Diane’s, I don’t compare anyone’s cards to Diane’s or anyone else that sends cards!ย  I know that anyone who makes cards for this group or any group has love in their heart to share! ๐Ÿ™‚

I have a lot more cards to share!ย  This month has been about Easter, April will be about Mother’s day.ย  I’ll also show some cards that don’t have these themes, but mostly I’ll be showing whatever the next holiday will be:)

I’ve decided to make a change to my Blog Candy for April.ย  It will instead be in May, 2015.ย  My next post will have all the Blog Candy info, so be sure to sign up to follow me! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by, I will be back real soon, I hope you will too! ๐Ÿ™‚
