November 2019 Update and cards

Hi everyone! 🙂  It’s been a roller coaster ride here since May!  More changes are heading my way and I just want to share that and then we’ll get to some cards.

We have been in the same apartment for 3 years and the rental company has decided not to renew our lease.  Our lease is up Dec. 31st, so we have been running around like crazy trying to find somewhere else to live!  Long story, short, we are buying a small house.  We will be moving on Dec. 23rd.  Yep, it’s as crazy as it sounds!

Once we’re settled in our house, I hope to be a lot more regular with my posts 🙂  Thank you for staying with me and being patient!! 🙂

Now, the cards I have today are all mine.  My craft room is a disaster! 😦  My photo taking area has already been packed and I took these photos on my work table.  I hope you get some inspiration from them 🙂  I’ve made all “Winter” cards.

I’ve used all papers from Echo Park, 6×6 pads of “My Favorite Winter”.  I used one sentiments from Stampin’ Up!  Also some plain cardstock, dies and punches from Stampin’ Up!  I did use some peel off stickers for the “Get Well” cards that will go to my seniors.  Everything else will go to Send A Smile 4 Kids!

You can enter our challenge and find out about how we support children at many hospitals across the USA, be sure to check out our page! 🙂

My broken arm has healed, but a few problems still remain and I’ve made all simple cards, because that’s all I can do right now.  I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at them! 🙂

Thanks for coming by! 🙂  I really do hope to do much better keeping you updated in the coming year! 🙂  I’ll try to get one more blog post out before Christmas! 🙂

I’m back, yay! :)

I have been gone so long, and I’m so sorry! 😦  Don’t ever get “old”, because everything takes longer to heal if you break it! 😦

I had 8 fractures in my broken arm and it was not fun or pretty!  But here I am, mostly recovered and ready to share more cards with you! 🙂  So let’s not waste another minute and get to some cards! 🙂

I still have two fingers on my right hand that will not work properly, but I’ve adapted 🙂  I’ve been making simple cards for about a month and have some to share with you 🙂

Today I’m showing you ways to use paper and images for Fall “themed” cards.  Here are two cards showing Fall “themed” cards for Birthdays.  On the right, I used a pumpkin embossing folder with some Fall paper and a digital image that I bought on Esty.  I added the words to the pumpkin digitally.  On the left, I used some Fall paper and an image that I also bought on Esty, plus a gold sentiment sticker.

Here I used two more digital images from Esty, Fall colored papers, and on the left a black Hello sentiment sticker, on the right, the image came with the Hello sentiment.

Here I used a 6×6 Fall paper pack from Carta Bella, called Fall Market.  I don’t like how the colors turned out in my photos 😦  The cards are actually very bright and colorful.

In case you forgot, or you’re new here, I send cards to Children’s Hospitals as a volunteer for Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I also, separately, send cards to a senior center in honor of my mother.  Please take a few minutes and check out the SAS4Kids blog and see how you can be a donor too! 🙂

Now I have some beautiful cards from one of my card donors, Lee Mae Elkins 🙂

I think all of Lee Mae’s cards “speak” for themselves, lots of sentiments, all with Fall themes.  Thank you so much Lee Mae for sharing your cards and talents with our kids! 🙂

You can do the same thing with Winter “themed” cards, I hope to show you some very soon! 🙂

Thank you for coming by, I am so thankful for your interest! 🙂  I hope you can come by again! 🙂  I am so happy and thankful to be back to my blog and sharing what I love! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge #183

Welcome to another post featuring Christmas and Winter cards! 🙂  I’ve been so busy, I almost forgot to do this post!  This post will be kinda long, so I hope you’re all ready! 🙂

Christmas is an exciting time of year for our kids in hospitals!  Well, it’s exciting for us getting ready to ship them cards!  I know that I love to get cards to share with the kids and see what our generous donors have made to bring smiles to kids faces! 🙂

My husband came home from work late and let me know that it’s snowing outside, as I’m sure it is in many parts of the USA!  So here is my card to share to get things going:

It’s a Winter Birthday card! 🙂  I heard that some people don’t quite understand what “every day cards with Christmas, Winter themes” actually means.  Here is a great example, well, I think so anyway 😉

I used a 6×6 paper pad by Echo Park, called Celebrate Winter.  What fun colors and images they have in this paper pad! 🙂  And it’s a Birthday card! 🙂  I know you shouldn’t start a sentence with “and”,  sorry 😉

I used Stampin’ Up! Basic Black cardstock and sentiment.  I’m not sure which set it came out of because it’s in my “favorites” box that I use all the time.  Both papers came from the same paper pad, and there are other fun papers as well 🙂  No I don’t get paid to promote Echo Park, I just love their paper pads, and they work well with Stampin’ Up! cardstock! 🙂

Next I have some great cards from repeat donor, Lee Mae Elkins from WA.  I know you’ll enjoy her cards! 🙂  Click on them to see their sentiments 😉  Here are some Christmas/Winter Birthdays!

Every day cards with Christmas/Winter themes 🙂

Here are a couple of Blank/no sentiment, Christmas cards 🙂

Some Merry Christmas for those of you missing the “official” Christmas cards 😉

And finally, some “other than Merry Christmas” cards 🙂

Thank you Lee Mae for giving everyone something to love! 🙂  Great examples of almost every kind of Winter/Christmas card! 🙂

I’d like to thank all of my donors for their efforts this year to bring happy smiles to kids faces! 🙂

Thank you for stopping by! 🙂  I hope we’ve given you some inspiration to get through the holiday card making season! 🙂  I hope you’ll come join us again for more cards! 🙂

Please stop by Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog to see more cards, or enter your own! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! 🙂

SAS4Kids with Fall or Holiday Wishes

Hello everyone! 🙂  What a beautiful day it is here where I live, lots of sunshine! 🙂  I have a short post for you today.  I haven’t been getting very many cards yet, so I have a few I’ve made 🙂  They’re general sentiments with a Fall and Winter themes 🙂

First, here is my card for today’s Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge 🙂

For my card, I used Stampin’ Up! cardstock, the pumpkin paper is from Carta Bella, Hello Fall.  The pumpkin image is from Etsy, I added the “Happy Birthday” with a digital file.  The pumpkin embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, and I used a Stampin’ Up! die to cut out the Happy Birthday pumpkin 🙂

I love this card, a great example of Fall theme with a general sentiment! 🙂  I have a couple more for you 🙂

This card info is below, except I used Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock on this one.

For both of these cards I used Echo Park, Celebrate Winter 🙂  All of my paper pads are 6×6, I think the graphics are just the right size for cards 🙂  Although I did buy the 12×12 solid paper pack.

I love the sentiments on both of these cards!  You may be surprised where I got the Celebrate Winter sentiment.

I cut it off the bottom of one of the solid 12×12 sheets, it runs across the bottom of the card stock!  I’ve probably seen it before, but it never occurred to me, that I could use it as a sentiment!   I don’t usually get the solid paper packs because Stampin’ Up! has such great colors, they match almost everything! 🙂  I did use Stampin’ Up! Real Red for behind the sentiment 😉

I hope you enjoyed my cards 🙂  Hopefully I’ll start getting some Winter and Christmas cards in so I can share them with you! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who donates cards to our cause, Send A Smile 4 Kids, we couldn’t do this without you! 🙂

If you’re just stopping by, I hope you’ve gotten some inspiration from my cards today 🙂  The holidays aren’t the only thing going on in any given month!  Kids still need general cards to fill in 🙂  I’ll be having more Winter and Christmas cards to share soon, I hope you’ll come back! 🙂
