Freshly Made Sketches #286 and Guests

Well, this is fast for me, twice in one week! 🙂  I have some cards to share and then I have cards from donors to share! 🙂  First I have a card I will be entering in the Freshly Made Sketches #286 challenge 🙂  Here’s the sketch 🙂

FMS Final 286-001

Ok, it’s really close to the sketch, and I like it, but I made two more! lol  Yep, my grandson was being really good and he let me play for a while! 🙂  Here’s the second one I made :

The first two cards are considered “no embellishment” cards.  Everything is flat and glued down.  Nothing extra that could be pulled off 😉

Now here’s the third card I made, a little different.

This one is technically not “no embellishment”.  I popped up the shark with dimentionals, it could be pulled off.  I used Avery Elle stamps and dies 🙂 I used Copics to color, only because I happen to have 3 markers, two greys and one purple. lol

One of our donors sent in some cards a while ago with the Avery Elle sharks.   I knew I wanted to use it for some teen cards! 🙂  Here are her cards for your inspiration! 🙂

Now, since I’ve already mailed out our Mother’s Day cards, here are some Father’s Day cards that I’ve already received 🙂  Vicki Luebke of IN is first, she’s sent in small groups of cards three times! 🙂

Thank you Vicki for these great Father’s Day cards, there seems to be one for almost every type of dad! 🙂

Here’s a few from Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂

Thank you Janelle, I love how different your cards are! 🙂  Love all the different Tee Shirts! 🙂

And lastly, here are a few from Debbie Caldwell of MI 🙂

The last four could be used for teen boys or Father’s Day, whatever might be needed more 🙂  Thank you Debbie for these great cards, I don’t have anything like it so far! 🙂

Thank you ladies for sending these cards early, I like to be prepared as early as I can 🙂  You never know what might happen around here to put me behind! 😉

Thank you card makers for your efforts for our kids, I know the kids will love to share these cards with their dads! 🙂  There is plenty of inspiration here for Father’s Day cards, lots of different ideas! 🙂    Please don’t think I have all I need!  There are plenty more dads that will still need cards!  Don’t forget I have three hospitals! 🙂

Don’t like making Father’s Day cards?  Make some masculine cards, they can be used for Father’s Day 😉  Masculine cards hard to make?  Be sure to check out my categories for more Father’s Day caed ideas.  Pinterest has some nice cards, also SplitCoastStampers! 🙂  A lot of people have trouble making masculine cards, you’re not alone!  Use other people’s sketches, take their idea and change it up with different papers or colors, make it your own! 🙂

Made it last year?  Not to worry, I’m hoping that we’ve had a turnover on kids being in the hospitals, so old ideas are new again for new kids! 😉  You can also take last years idea and make it look different! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate your interest in our cause! 🙂  If you’re stopping by just to get inspiration, we’re glad to have you too! 🙂  I hope you all will come again! 🙂

Freshly Made #240, SAS4Kids

I’m cutting it close, but I have some more Father’s Day cards! 🙂  First, I have the card I made 🙂  I will be submitting it to Freshly Made Sketches #240, and the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, Anything goes for Kids.

I wanted to use my new Foxy Friends from Stampin’ Up!, but two people had already entered Foxy Friends.  I went with my second choice, Best Birds from Stampin’ Up! This set is awesome!  It comes with two bird stamps and 5 bird dies!  I colored it with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.  I used a sponge dauber to add the color:)

As will most of my cards, this one will go in a box with SAS4Kids cards to go to my hospitals 🙂 I know it looks simple, but it’s granddaughter approved 🙂  I love all the colors!

Ok, now on to my guest cards for today! 🙂  First up is Debbie Caldwell of MI 🙂

Thank you Debbie for a great selection! 🙂  There are cards for boys and girls, young and older! 🙂  At this time, I have the only SAS4Kids religious hospital, there is even a card for them! 🙂  You are so thoughtful, thanks! 🙂

Next is Donna Wakefield of IN 🙂  Donna is a repeat sender 🙂

Really nice cards, Donna, thank you! 🙂  Also cards for different ages 🙂  I love how Donna used the same boat image in different ways! 🙂

Next is Holly Blaskie of MI 🙂  Holly is also a repeat sender 🙂

Holly picked some great designs and sent multiples of each 🙂  Thank you Holly for your great cards! 🙂

Next is Lee Mae Elkins of WA 🙂  I truly get cards from all over the US! 🙂  Lee Mae has also sent cards before 🙂

More great cards with something for everyone! 🙂  Thank you Lee Mae, the kids will love sharing these with their dads! 🙂

My last guest for today is Ann Williams of TN 🙂  Ann has also sent cards before, I have a great team of card makers! 🙂

Thank you Ann, for the fun and colorful cards! 🙂  The kids will love these, and I’m sure their dads will too! 🙂

All the card makers I have shown the past few weeks have really come through with great cards for dads! 🙂  I appreciate all the crafting you do for our kids and I know the kids do too! 🙂  You all have amazing skills, and I’m so happy you use those skills to share your cards with us! 🙂

I will be showing general cards all throughout the Summer 🙂  Take it easy on yourselves and enjoy your Summer! 🙂  I’m going to use everything I have on hand and then let you know what I need the most of 🙂  You are all the best team I could ever ask for, Thank you all! 🙂

It’s never too early for Fall, Halloween and dare I say, Christmas cards! lol

I hope to be back soon with more cards to share for your pleasure and inspiration! 🙂  Thank you all for coming by today! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #231 & SAS4Kids

I started feeling much better this week after taking some antibiotics! 🙂  No one knows what was exactly wrong, but the meds worked, YAY! 🙂

Today I have a card I made for Freshly Made Sketches #231.  I will also enter it into our own Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, which is For Moms or Special Females from kids:)

FMS Final 231-001SDC19882

Yes, I stay pretty close to the sketches;)  you’re probably thinking I cut the two pieces on the right.  Nope, I actually cut two very small strips of black.  I should have added one on the left of my image too, I still may, before sending to one of my hospitals 🙂

The back is black, on top of that is my background image.  I should have taken a photo because it’s not a very wide image and what I did was put one image on the left and the other on the right and there is white in the center.  You only see one image that way.  The background image is from PC Hugware.  They’re no longer in business:(  But, you can get the cute Nolan & the BullFrog from Fred She Said! 🙂

I was reminded of this image by my daughter telling her kids the other day how her and her brothers went fishing one year and when they came home they knocked on the door.  When I went to the door, they had this big bull frog right in my face, made me jump! lol Right away I thought of little Nolan taking his mom a bull frog for Mother’s Day 🙂

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes 🙂

Ok, that’s enough from me, I have two guests today, the first is Ann Merkins of MN 🙂

You really need to click on these and make them bigger! 🙂  Ann has told me she makes these cards with napkins!  She didn’t tell me how she does it though:(  They’re sparkly! 🙂

I have never seen napkins this pretty in my life! 🙂  They really make beautiful cards! 🙂

The card on the far left is so beautiful, the colors are stunning!  I really like the card on the far right too! 🙂  Ann made several quilt cards in different colors and designs, they’re all beautiful! 🙂  Thank you Ann for such wonderful cards for our kids to share with their moms! 🙂

Next I have Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂

You all know I love when you use the same papers, layouts or images in different ways! 🙂 The two cards on the left look really different, even though they’re basically the same 😉  Now I could split these up and send to two different hospitals, but I don’t think it would matter, even if they were on the same floor 😉

Janelle uses a lot of Stampin’ Up! products! 🙂  All three of the cards to the right are made with Botanical Blooms, stamp and die bundle.  Also the one above with the yellow flower 🙂  It’s still available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Occasions Catalog until May 31st! 🙂  Yes, I do sell Stampin’ Up!, I just don’t push anyone to buy it 😉

I didn’t buy this set, because I didn’t care for the examples I had seen 😦  If I had seen Janelle’s examples I would have had this already! 🙂  The green card in the center is gorgeous!   Janelle did such a great job, you should enlarge it 😉

Here’s a peek at some Father’s Day cards! 🙂  More Stampin’ Up! products! 🙂  These are all great Father’s Day cards! 🙂  I really love the plane, and I have that set! 🙂  Thank you Janelle for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids! 🙂  I’m sure the dads will be thrilled! 🙂

Well, I’m off to bed, I won’t stay well if I don’t get my sleep!  It snowed here last night and was still on the grass this morning!  I hope you all are having some better weather! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you all have a great week and come back again soon! 🙂

Merry Monday #162, Friday Mashup #213 & SAS4Kids

I have a short post tonight with only two cards, but I made both of them:)  I’m actually entering another challenge, but the title was way too long! 😉  lol

My first card is for Merry Monday #162, their challenge is always a Christmas Challenge.  This week the challenge is to add one or more tags to your card.

162I’m also going to enter my card at the Doodle Panty challenge, Ants in my pantry digital challenge 6.  I know, what a long title, but their images are so cute, check them out! 🙂

This is a Doodle Pantry digital image called Charlie Sledding.  It’s a pre colored image, and I think it’ll be great for one of the kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂   Yes, I start early with Christmas, it’s so easy to get behind;) !   I used an embossing folder by Darice, some silver ribbon from Stampin’ Up!, a snowflake punch from Martha Stewart, and I printed the blue background paper on my computer.  The blue paper comes in the kit from Doodle Pantry:)  Oh, almost forgot,  The snowflake and the two glittery sides are Stampin’ Up! Glimmer Paper, Dazzling Diamonds.  I popped up the tag with Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Dimentionals.

My second card is for the challenge over at the Friday Mashup #213.

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project with the colors “Cajun Craze, Island Indigo and Garden Green”
  • Create a project with a “Father’s Day Theme”
  • or Mash it Up! and Create a project with “The challenge colors and a Father’s Day theme”.

abSDC15673I chose a Father’s Day Theme because I still had one card for Father’s Day that I had not posted yet:)  I love this card:)  I used a digital image from Fred She Said called, Emma In Her Cool Cap.  I used the pre colored version, but you can also get this image in black & white to color yourself:)  The papers are Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Soft Suede.  The heart border was made with a Stampin’ Up! punch called Confetti Hearts Border punch.  I took a few of the punch outs and added them on the top left.  I just printed the sentiment at the bottom of the image.

Thank you so much for coming by today! 🙂  I appreciate your interest! 🙂  I will be back in a few days with some more cards, hope to see you then! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids and guests

Well, we’re leaving May behind and starting June, I can hardly believe how fast times flies by!  I have a one more Father’s Day card to share, and then we’re moving on! 🙂

I did not make these cards!  The cards I have today are made by people who send me cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids:)  I have volunteered to accept cards that are sent in from around the USA, I sort them, label them (if needed) and pack them up to deliver to a Children’s Hospital near my home:)  I have some wonderful cardmakers sending cards in for my hospital and I like to share their talents with you! 🙂

I have two cardmakers to highlight today:)  My first cardmaker actually has her own blog, her name is Andrea La Vigne, from TX.  You can find Andrea and the instructions for her cards here.  Both of the cards I’m showing are on her blog now, you just need to scroll down a little to find them both separately;)

Here is the first one:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love this card, it’s so great for a dad! 🙂  I know that this image is from Fred She Said, I’ve used it myself:)  Please visit Andrea for more details:)

Second card for Andrea:

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANormally, I wouldn’t show someone elses cards if they have their own blog, but I love this card so much, that I asked Andrea for permission to show you all! 🙂   Don’t you love the colors?!!  I wish I had a hundred of these to share! 😉  If you love it too, be sure to go visit Andrea over on her blog to find out how she did it !:)

Next I have some cards that were sent in back in February.  These cards have since gone on to the hospital for a child to enjoy:)  I took photos to be able to share them here with you:)  These four cards were all made by Debbie Long, from Goose Creek, SC:)

Debbie sent multiples of these cards, I used some for Father’s Day, and the rest I’ve been using for masculine cards for the older patients.  These are great cards and could be used for any occasion! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA      SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at these, aren’t they handsome/adorable?!  I love the papers, colors, and image! 🙂  Debbie did a great job and I’m sure these cards were loved and appreciated! 🙂

I’d like thank all my card senders! 🙂  Everyone does a wonderful job and I know that any of the SAS4Kids hospitals that receive these cards are overwhelmed by the kindness of these gifts! 🙂

May is over, so I will be working on drawing the names for my May Blog Candy!  Anyone who made a comment or sent in cards in May was entered:)  I will have the winning names by June 15th! 🙂  Thank you to all who sent in cards and/or took the time to comment! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today to check out the cards! 🙂  I hope to be back soon:)

Merry Monday #159, Father’s Day, and SAS4Kids

I have lots of cards to show you today! 🙂  First, I would like to remind everyone to check out the Blog Candy I have for the month of May! 🙂

Next, I have a new card to enter into the challenge over at Merry Monday #159.

Need a little bit of inspiration for your Christmas cards?! You’ve come to the right place! There is still plenty of time for you to play along with Merry Monday #159! This week’s challenge is brought to you by our super talented, Debbie:

“Remember…have fun creating a Christmas card using “non-evergreen tree(s)” Have fun!

abSDC16053I’m assuming these are non-evergreen trees, at least I embossed them in Gold;)  I used half of a stamp for the Stampin’ Up! Christmas set, The Newborn King.  I love this set! 🙂  I can tell you how to get it at a discounted price!  If you’re interested, just let me know:)  I know it looks easy, but it actually took me almost a dozen tries to get it so I was satisfied!

First I stamped and embossed the entire stamp, which has more trees where the Glory is.  I had trouble getting the embossing powder to be just right😦  Then, I decided to go a whole different way!  This card actually has three different stamps from the set of 4.  I tried just stamping the left side, but I kept getting residue from the right side:(  You can tell I’ve never done this already;) lol  Then I took one of the images I didn’t like and cut it in half to make a template.  Ok, it was late and I really haven’t done this before…..really, my first time!

I stamped and embossed the left side, did the same for the right, and finally added the star.  I’ll be prepared to do this again! 😉  I didn’t have any Stampin’ Up! Gold paper on hand, so I used some from Recollections.  If you click on the image and make it larger, you can see the sparkle in the Gold paper:)  I really like how it turned out! 🙂  Of course, this will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids:) I actually make my cards so they can be found, many years from now by archeologists, I’m sure it will last until Christmas! 😉 lol

Now be prepared to be overwhelmed by Father’s Day cards! 🙂  My guest today is Holly Blaskie, from MI:)  Holly has sent cards several times and has done a wonderful job each time!  I truly appreciate all the cardmakers who send cards to me for SAS4Kids!! 🙂

Two beach scenes, these are really nice, great images for June:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis one could be Father’s Day or any day for a kid who loves their dad:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA    SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo awesome trees! 🙂  Even though they both have trees, they are totally different! Holly has done a great job with both of these! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI know most dads love cars, and this one is really special:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow cool is this one?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love these!  The same sentiment, but totally different cards! 🙂  I’ll have to ask her about the footprints, I’m assuming it’s an embossing folder, but I’ve been wrong before;)  These could either be Father’s Day or just I Love You Dad cards:)

If you have a card for a kid, check out the challenge blog sponsored by Send A Smile 4 Kids, here🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I still have some Father’s Day cards to share, but I’ll also be adding more kids cards, so please come back and have a look! 🙂

SAS4Kids with guest for Father’s Day

Wow, this month is going by so fast!  We’re well on our way to Father’s Day! 🙂  I have some wonderful cards to share today!  I DID NOT make any of these cards!!  These are all guest cards, made by card senders to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

The first cards are from Diane Herniman from Canada:)  Diane has been showcased here before, she makes beautiful cards! 🙂 This is what she has sent in for Father’s Day:)

The card is on the left, it looks like a button down shirt:)  On the right is the envelope, isn’t it fun!?  Diane makes all her own envelopes!  In the front is the inside “shirt”, it says Dad, you’re awesome.  You then put it into the “shirt”, you’ll see it in some more photos:)

Here it is in place on these two cards, aren’t they great!?  I think the kids will really enjoy giving these to their dads! 🙂

I received 26 of these cards from Diane, all different!  She sent me directions to make them and she insists they’re easy to make!  We’ll see next year;)

Now I have a few cards from Donna Wakefield:)  Donna has also sent cards before that I’ve shared here.  Donna also does a wonderful job of making cards! 🙂

This one is really neat, I don’t think I’ve ever received one like this.  The tag pulls right out of the envelope!  And, it’s plaid, I love plaid!  My father was famous for his plaid shirts! 🙂

I really like this one, besides being plaid, it has a wonderful verse inside! 🙂  Now, it’s one of our rules at SAS4Kids, that the insides be blank for personal messages.  However, for my hospital, I called ahead and made sure these cards were okay to send with the messages;)  Donna has also sent one more with a message.

Diane and Donna both included sentiments, and I’m sure a tongue tied teenager will most likely appreciate not having to actually write a note themselves;)

The next card is from Gail Beggs:)  Now Gail sent in a box way back in March.  The box had lots of different cards, but only one Father’s Day.  I try to take photos of most of the cards when they come in, so even though this card has been sitting in the Father’s Day box since March, I can still share it with you all:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love the colors and layout in this card, Gail has done a wonderful job! 🙂

I have one more set of cards today, sent in by Jill Blasche of Texas.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJill sent 2 or 3 of each of these, they’re all blank inside:)  Wonderful cards for our kids to give their dads! 🙂  Jill has also sent cards before:)  We appreciate all of our card makers! 🙂  That’s why I want to remind everyone of my May Blog Candy! 🙂  Please scroll down or go here to find out more! 🙂

Thank you for coming by today! 🙂  I’ll be back with more cards soon! 🙂  Don’t forget to leave a comment and read up about the Blog Candy!  If you leave a comment, please follow me so you’ll know who the winners are in June! 🙂
