Freshly Made #105 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I have a Halloween card today for the Freshly Made Challenge #105.  I will be sending it to Send A Smile 4 Kids, but I will not be entering it there.  I already have two cards made and ready to show you tomorrow, or later today. It’s 1 am here now, so I may get to it later;)   One of those cards will be entered into the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge.

Here is the sketch for this week, you still have time to join before Monday, noon I think.

FMS Final 105-001This is not as easy as it looks!  Lining up those 4 squares was really hard! LOL  Really though, it was hard……

I think it turned out really cute and some child on a hospital ward here in the USA will, I hope, enjoy it! 🙂 This is my favorite little girl, Emma, by Fred She Said!  This image is called Halloween – Emma The Cat Decoupage Sheet + extras.  Honestly, I think it’s one of the longest names in the store!  But she is soooo cute, and she comes with the purple pumpkin paper, and she can be layered too:)  What a deal, you need to go to the store because you won’t believe how inexpensive this piece of digital art is!  Also, there is a SALE going on, but hurry, it’s only until Sept. 30th!

FSS-FALL SALE 2013Well, that’s all for right now, I hope you can come back later:)  Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Friday mashup #120 & Merry Monday-July

This is a post edit, in case you’ve already seen it.  I missed the deadline for Merry Monday….again:(  But here’s the happy news, I won a top pick from Merry Monday for the second card on this post! 🙂  That’s the one with the little Elf:)

Winner Badge for Merry MondayAnd that’s only the first thing I want to tell you.  If you scroll down and look at the Elf card, you will see the embossing folder I used.  It’s Petals-a-Plenty by Stampin’ Up!  I love this embossing folder and if you do too, you can have a chance to win one!!  All comments this month (August)  will be going into a drawing , and one lucky winner will receive a brand new Petals-a-Plenty Embossing Folder for FREE! 🙂

This is sponsored by me, Janet Kay:)  I’m happy to be a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator and would be happy to have you as a customer, as long as you live in the USA.  I’m a “no pressure” salesperson, so you won’t be seeing me trying to get you to buy anything. I pretty much sell to get enough money for supplies for the two charities I support, Send A Smile 4 Kids and my newest endeavor, Operation Write Home:)

These are two very worthy causes if you have the time, please consider at least one:) I have links for both on my sidebar, take a look and give it some thought:)

I hope to be back very soon so that you have as many chances to comment as pobbible:)  Thank you for taking the time to read my post and visit my blog! 🙂

Lots to show you today! 🙂  I’ve made two more cards with the sketch from Freshly Made #96.

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project for “Christmas / Hanukkah”.
  2. Create a project with “Stripes”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Christmas / Hanukkah project with Stripes”.

Here’s the card I made for the Friday Mashup #120:

Half-fold Card2This card features a pre-colored digital stamp by Fred She Said called, Little Fat Santa.  It also features some handmade, striped paper made by me! 🙂

I’m pretty sure there’s an easy way to make striped paper, and if you know how, please let me know, but this is what I did;)

christmas stripes sample 1I went to my favorite Print Shop program and selected “add a line”.  It allows you to make different sizes and colors.  Sounds easy?  Do you see how many stripes there are?!  It took me all day, in between dealing with my grandchildren!  I made a bunch of stripes in red, green and black.  I stored them on the side of the page.  Then I layered them one by one.  I finished two or three times and didn’t like it and changed it up.  I was up until 4am!  Here is how it looked when I was almost done, I put in a “shape” of white and covered the ends to make it all one size.  Then I added my images to the “white” side so I could print everything on one page.

christmas stripes sample2Here is a close-up of the tag I made:

Half-fold Card3I stamped on some thin, long paper, then I folded it in half and attached it with a silver, sparkle brad.  I left a little loop in the paper to make it stand out.  I also made a silver, sparkle snowflake with a retired Stampin’ Up! punch.  The red snowflake background paper is also Fred She Said, Christmas Papers 1-2009. The white cardstock was embossed with an old Embossing Folder by Cuttlebug.   The Santa and the tag are both popped- up with SU Stampin’ Dimentionals.

Now for my second card, I will be entering it over at Merry Monday-July. There was no sketch this month, the entire month has been “anything goes”!

July ChallengeHalf-fold Card1Same basic sketch, I just changed it up a little;)  I used my handmade paper, some leftover red snowflake, and regular cardstock embossed with a Stampin’ Up! folder called Petals-a-Plenty.  I believe this is my favorite embossing folder!:) At least for Christmas;)  The pre-colored digital image is from Fred She Said, Naughty or Nice Elf. The sentiment is also included with a few others:)  I used a silver glitter snowflake and a sparkly green brad.  Here I popped-up only the striped section.

Wow, that sure seems like a lot!  I hope you were able to make it all the way through;)

Thanks for coming by today!  I’m always happy to have visitors! 🙂  I don’t know what will be next, but I hope to be back soon!

JanetKay_RetroNoelP.S.  I’m not proofreading this so if you find errors, please let me know:)

Merry Monday-July & Freshly Made #96

Today I have one card, but I’m entering it in two challenges.  Merry Monday’s July challenge is Anything Goes, so I’m using the sketch from Freshly Made #96.

July Challengefms96sketchMy computer is acting up today:(  Excuse me if I hurry through this today, well, I’ll try anyway, it’s taken half and hour to get this far:(  It’s not this site, it’s the internet connection, slow, slow, slow! 😦

Here is my card:

Half-fold Card1I’ve tried to create a nice simple card today, last weeks was not all that simple;)  Of course, I used a really cute Fred She Said image;)  The set is called Naughty or Nice Elf . It’s been printed and cut out , layered onto some “real” sparkle paper by Stampin’ Up!  Under that is plain white cardstock embossed with a Sizzix Christmas folder with Holly leaves and berries.  The background color is one of my favorites from Stampin’ Up!, Garden Green.  I added one little embellishment from my stash.

Be sure to check out the Fred She Said store, there are beautiful new images!  I’ll be using some very soon:)

Okay, I’ve got to go for now, but I’ll be back soon with the card for the Friday Mashup🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #90 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I have two more cards today:)  The first card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #90.  Here is their sketch for this week, I’ve used it for both cards:

FMS Final 90-001Now for my first card:

How cute is this image?  The colors are actually much more vibrant in hand.  They almost look washed out here:(  I used Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  I used Real Red on the back, then a piece of Daffodil Delight.  I ran the Daffodil Delight through with the Textured Impressions folder-Stripes, then I highlighted it with a Stampin’ Spot of More Mustard.  I just swiped the little pad over the stripes a few times.  I think it matches the yellow on the truck;)  I used Pacific Point behind the truck, and a small piece of Real Red for the tag.

The truck image with the little ants is from doodle Pantry. They have quite a few ants running around doing different things, cute:)  The paper comes along with the set of three trucks and a few sentiments.

Now for my second card, using the same layout:

Poster2Both of my cards will be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂  It looks like the current blog challenge ends today, but there will be another one tomorrow, Sat. 16th.  Please be sure to visit their challenge blog and consider sending in some cards for the children:)  I have a link on the left side of my blog.

For this card, I also used Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  The background is Tempting Turquoise, Real Red behind the main image and more Tempting Turquoise for the Sentiment.  I used a stamp from the set Wishes Your Way, which I cut with the Modern Label punch.  I mounted that on a small scrap of Tempting Turquoise and rounded the edges on one side.  I used a Testured Impressions Embossing Folder called Cloudy Day from the Spring catalog on the left side of my card. Dazzling Details make the little bubbles sparkle, it’s hard to see here.

The colored, dotted paper came from somewhere new called Sassy Designs.    Good luck, when I visited their site they had over 500 paper packs.  Sorry, I didn’t find the exact page for you:(

My main image is Fred She Said, of course! 🙂  I’ve used this image before, I think it’s so cute!  The set is called Emma Blowing Bubbles.  The set comes with 4 different colored versions, or you can get just the black & white image separately.

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  See you soon:)

Freshly Made #89 and Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’m sorry I’m not making my regular posts.  I have to post when time allows, also whenever I can make cards;)

I have two cards for you today, I hope you like them:)  First up is a card I’m actually posting to two different blog challenges:  Freshly Made Sketch #89, and the Friday Mashup #113.

FMS Final 89-001

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:

  1. Create a project using “Hexagons”.
  2. Create a “Girly project”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Girly project using Hexagons”.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made and then I made it “girly” for the challenge at the Friday Mashup.  I’m a little tired of the tags, and I really don’t like hexagons, I don’t know why.

Here’s my card:

Poster3Yep, no tag at the bottom, I cut the bottom with my small scissors, and backed it with white cardstock, it kinda looks like tags.  The girl image was popped up a little by adding plain cardstock to the back.  I used Stampin’ Up! So Saffron cardstock for the back.  I’m not sure where I got the checkered paper:(  I also used Stampin’ Up! plain white bakers twine, small red flower button, and two different butterfly punches.

My pre-colored, digital image is from Fred She Said called,  Emma & Rosey and Just Emma.   I used Emma & Rosey, but you can also get Just Emma, or you can get either image in black & white.

I will most  send the Rosie card on to Send A Smile 4 Kids, but I made a specific card for them:)  Send A Smile 4 Kids sponsors a challenge blog with prizes!  I can’t enter this week because I am on the Design Team at Fred She Said and FSS is one of the prize sponsors for this challenge.  But don’t let that stop you from entering and/or sending cards to this great cause!

Half-fold Card1All of the products used on this card are Stampin’ Up!  except for this really cute pre-colored, digital image I found at doddle Pantry, oh, and the purple digital paper and the green paper under the sentiment.   Doodle Pantry is also a sometimes sponsor over at Send A Smile 4 Kids. I just love this image for kids, so fun! 🙂

Well, believe it or not, I am off to watch something on TV.  I know, I hardly ever watch TV anymore, but there is a summer program called Falling Skies about aliens, that I just love! LOL

Thanks for stopping by, have a great week! 🙂

Merry Monday #58

Wow, I have a bunch of info this week regarding challenges where you can win prizes! 🙂  Be sure to scroll all the way to the end for this exciting info! 🙂

First, I’d like to show you the sketch this week for Merry Monday #58:

MM New Look Sketches-003Now for my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1I don’t know about you, but I’m getting a little bored with all these banners.  I decided to do something a little different and used gems.  I had a terrible time trying to make them look straight with embossing under them:(  I had a number of steps, but still pretty simply made😉

I used Stampin’ Up! supplies except where noted.   Of course my first note would be my beautiful pre-colored digital image from Fred She Said.  This image is called, Winter Emma & The Chickadee.  She comes in 5 different colors.  You can get the uncolored version here.

The back layer is Garden Green, then Cherry Cobbler, white with SU embossing folder Petals A Plenty, more Garden Green and a tiny bit of Cherry Cobbler.  The little stamp comes from the Tags til Christmas set, cut out with the Stampin’ Up! Small Oval Punch.  I did use a small Spellbinders oval for the Cherry Cobbler behind it.  The gems are just some misc. ones hanging around.  On Emma’s coat, I used SU Dazzling Details to add some sparkle.

Really it wasn’t that hard to put together, once I decided what I wanted to do;)

Now, if you’d like to know where there are some challenges where you can win Fred She Said and other prizes, I have a few places for you to visit:

If you can’t get enough Christmas cards, check out Christmas Stampin’ All Year Long.

Spark your Creativity at Pin and Tack.

Like Pinterest?  Here’s a challenge for you:  {Pin} spirational challenges.

Top Tip Tuesday offers tips with some of their entries.

I think two of these are for a week and two are for the entire month.  Check them out to be sure, but be sure to have a look! 🙂

I actually have my next card ready, it’s drying right now.  I hope to post it MUCH latter today:)

Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #80

Another busy week for me, and I’m still sick! 😦  I hope I can feel better and get into some kind of routine soon!

Today I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches  #80.  They had another very simple sketch this week, that I had a lot of trouble with.  Here is their sketch:

FMS Final 80-001Here is my card:

Half-fold Card1Besides the Freshly Made Challenge, I will be putting this in my box to go to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I have a link for them on my sidebar.  This is a wonderful cause to share handmade cards with children in several different USA hospitals.  Some of the cards go to children directly, and some go to the children so they can give them to their family members:)  Right now they are collecting cards for children to give for Mother’s day:)  Please take a few minutes and visit their blog where they have challenges and prizes! 🙂

Now, about my card…….I used all Stampin’ Up! products, except where noted.  First, I will talk about my pre-colored, digital image from Fred She Said.  This image is called, Emma The Skipper.  You can find it on this page, along with the un-colored version so you can color it yourself.  It comes with a few sentiments:)  Fred She Said also has a blog where you can find out about new products and contests with prizes! 🙂

I did use die cuts from Spellbinders, but the rest is all Stampin’ Up!  I used a new embossing folder called Cloudy Day, pretty cool, also a new stamp set called Bloomin’ Marvelous. I took the small flower out of the set and stamped it for the background by inking with Daffodil Delight and stamping off once on scrap paper.  I didn’t want it to be too bright;)  I used Daffodil Delight ribbon and a new ribbon slider.  I cut the sentiment by hand, and used Wild Wasabi behind the image and for the background.

I have to go post this before the deadline, so off I go…

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I already have my next card made and hope to post it today or tomorrow:)

Merry Monday #55

Wow, I either get a whole lot done, or hardly anything!  I am so far behind this week:(  I’ve fallen today for the third time in as many weeks:(  I found myself resting a lot this week:(  Hopefully I’ll have no more of this falling down stuff and I can get back to work!

Today I have a card for the Merry Monday #55 challenge.  I’ve missed at least one of my favorite challenges every week  for the last three weeks and I’m going to try and fit all of them in this week!  This challenge is not a sketch challenge.  Merry Monday is mixing it up this year and adding different challenges besides just sketches:)

This is the challenge for this week:

55I went right across the middle and used a Spellbinder die, Paper Piercing, which is kinda hard to see, it’s around the brown shaped paper, and obviously, Angels:)

My Angel is a pre-colored, digital image from Fred She Said, called Emma The Caroling Angel Pre-Coloured Set.  I love so many of the Fred She Said images, it’s hard to choose sometimes!

This card is a lot more “busy” than usual, but it’s still pretty simple:)

Half-fold Card1Wow, when enlarged you can really see all the elements!  I will probably make another with a little less going on.  The printed papers I used are from Raspberry Road Designs, the set is called Shabby Flakes.  I tend to use a lot of their papers with my Fred She Said images:)  Anyway….. Raspberry Road is having a sale until March 31st.

I used three different snowflake stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!, inked and stamped with Craft Whisper White.  I didn’t emboss it, I thought that would be just too much;)  I used four different snowflake punches, with pink pearly gems.  I forgot to add my sparkle on the wings, I really wanted to get this on my blog tonight!  I’ll add it later;)

This was a really long post today, I hope I haven’t bored you to tears!  I hope to be back soon with my card for Freshly Made Sketches:)

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you’ll come back for more cards!

Merry Monday #51 & Freshly Made #75

Finally, I’ve made a card from scratch!  I am almost fully recovered from the flu or a bad cold, or a sinus infection, or maybe all three!  It took forever to get well, and I’m almost there!  No naps today!!  I’ve been so exhausted, just staying awake all day was a chore:(

Anyway, thanks for staying with me:)  I am going to enter this card into two challenges:  Merry Monday #51  & Freshly Made #75.  Freshly made is a sketch challenge, here is their sketch this week:

FMS Final 75-001Merry Monday is a tic tac toe challenge:

MM#51I used the sketch and the middle row, Punches, Digital and Cute.  Here is my card for you to decide:

Half-fold Card1My punches are all snowflakes, several different ones, mostly Martha Stewart.  My image is digital and I believe very cute! 🙂  Pre-colored digital image is from Fred She Said called, Emma the Hugger.  The set comes colored, un-colored and with several sentiments, including the one I used.

The red snowflake paper is also FSS, Christmas Papers 1 – 2009, it comes in several colors.  I used some red gems on my snowflakes, and some sparkle on the fur of Emma’s hat and coat.  I used Stampin’ Up! Basic Black for the background and behind my snowflakes.  I used SU Real Red behind my sentiment.

This is a simply made card.  Basically cut, punch, glue and embellish.  People always think I’m coloring these beautiful images, but Tracey over at Fred She Said, does all the work for me;)  Of course, her images also come in black and white so you can use your imagination to color if you like:)

Be sure to visit the Fred she Said blog, you can follow the blog and get updates on new products and contests!  Also pop over to Merry Monday and Freshly Made to see what everyone else is making, you can also enter your own cards! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  Hope to see you again soon:)

Merry Monday #49

UPDATE:  Yay, I received another Honorable Mention for this card!  I’m so excited!

Honourable Mention

Thank you all for following my blog!!! 🙂

It’s still Winter here so making Christmas cards doesn’t even seem strange!  I predicted an early Spring a few weeks ago, so it better hurry up and get here!!!  Of course I will still make Christmas cards every week;)

Here is the latest sketch challenge from Merry Monday:

MM#49Here is my card, I followed the sketch pretty closely:

Half-fold Card2I don’t know why this image looks blurry:(   Emma must have moved when I took the photo! lol  Honestly, I don’t know why it looks blurry here:(  But if you click on it, it looks fine:)

I used all Stampin’ Up! products except, the little “let it snow” stamp, and of course, the wonderful, pre-colored digital image from Fred She Said called Emma the Snow Angel.  Oh wait, I did use an embossing folder, but I’m not sure where I got it, sorry:(

I used digital plaid paper from My Digital Studio (Stampin’ Up!) called Frostwood Lodge.  I do love digital! 🙂  I love to be able to size things the way I like them to fit any project;)

Fred She Said will be having a Spring Term DT (Design Team) PARADE  Friday Feb.28th.  You’ll be able to pop over to the Fred She Said blog and see cards by all the DT members, new and continuing:)  If you go over there right now, you can see new images that Tracey just put up in the store:)  I imagine at least several members will make cards showcasing those images  on the 28th;)

I’m also going to submit this card to the World of Crafter site for their February General cards challenge, which is Plaid.  You do need to be a member, but it’s free to join!  Lots of fun things going on there!! General cards, Iris Folding, Tea Bag folding, just to name a few.  Lots of friendly people and lots to do! 🙂  Click here to visit their page:)

Thanks for coming by today:)  I hope you might take a few minutes and visit all the links I’ve provided:)  I know, I’m a busy, busy girl! 😉  See you soon! 🙂
