Freshly Made Sketches #286 and Guests

Well, this is fast for me, twice in one week! πŸ™‚Β  I have some cards to share and then I have cards from donors to share! πŸ™‚Β  First I have a card I will be entering in the Freshly Made Sketches #286 challenge πŸ™‚Β  Here’s the sketch πŸ™‚

FMS Final 286-001

aaaDSC00546

Ok, it’s really close to the sketch, and I like it, but I made two more! lolΒ  Yep, my grandson was being really good and he let me play for a while! πŸ™‚Β  Here’s the second one I made :

aaDSC00548

The first two cards are considered “no embellishment” cards.Β  Everything is flat and glued down.Β  Nothing extra that could be pulled off πŸ˜‰

Now here’s the third card I made, a little different.

aaDSC00550

This one is technically not “no embellishment”.Β  I popped up the shark with dimentionals, it could be pulled off.Β  I used Avery Elle stamps and dies πŸ™‚ I used Copics to color, only because I happen to have 3 markers, two greys and one purple. lol

One of our donors sent in some cards a while ago with the Avery Elle sharks.Β Β  I knew I wanted to use it for some teen cards! πŸ™‚Β  Here are her cards for your inspiration! πŸ™‚

aDSC00547

Now, since I’ve already mailed out our Mother’s Day cards, here are some Father’s Day cards that I’ve already received πŸ™‚Β  Vicki Luebke of IN is first, she’s sent in small groups of cards three times! πŸ™‚

Thank you Vicki for these great Father’s Day cards, there seems to be one for almost every type of dad! πŸ™‚

Here’s a few from Janelle Klapperich of SD πŸ™‚

Thank you Janelle, I love how different your cards are! πŸ™‚Β  Love all the different Tee Shirts! πŸ™‚

And lastly, here are a few from Debbie Caldwell of MI πŸ™‚

The last four could be used for teen boys or Father’s Day, whatever might be needed more πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Debbie for these great cards, I don’t have anything like it so far! πŸ™‚

Thank you ladies for sending these cards early, I like to be prepared as early as I can πŸ™‚Β  You never know what might happen around here to put me behind! πŸ˜‰

Thank you card makers for your efforts for our kids, I know the kids will love to share these cards with their dads! πŸ™‚Β  There is plenty of inspiration here for Father’s Day cards, lots of different ideas! πŸ™‚Β Β Β  Please don’t think I have all I need!Β  There are plenty more dads that will still need cards!Β  Don’t forget I have three hospitals! πŸ™‚

Don’t like making Father’s Day cards?Β  Make some masculine cards, they can be used for Father’s Day πŸ˜‰Β  Masculine cards hard to make?Β  Be sure to check out my categories for more Father’s Day caed ideas.Β  Pinterest has some nice cards, also SplitCoastStampers! πŸ™‚Β  A lot of people have trouble making masculine cards, you’re not alone!Β  Use other people’s sketches, take their idea and change it up with different papers or colors, make it your own! πŸ™‚

Made it last year?Β  Not to worry, I’m hoping that we’ve had a turnover on kids being in the hospitals, so old ideas are new again for new kids! πŸ˜‰Β  You can also take last years idea and make it look different! πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate your interest in our cause! πŸ™‚Β  If you’re stopping by just to get inspiration, we’re glad to have you too! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you all will come again! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #242 & SAS4Kids

Summer has been hard!Β Β  With all the grandkids home and lots of medical and other appointments, I’ve had less time to spend crafting! 😦 Β  Well, today, I found time to make one card! lolΒ  Yes, one! lolΒ Β  But, I have lots of cards sent in for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share!

First my card, I will enter it in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #242 and also at the challenge for Send A Smile 4 Kids πŸ™‚

FMS Final 242-001

a2SDC10663

OMGoodness, I love this new set from Stampin’ Up!, it’s called Best Birds πŸ™‚Β  You can also get a die set to go with it! πŸ™‚Β  I have to say, I love dies!Β  I cut a piece of magnet sheet and tape it (with very strong tape) to the back of my stamp box and they all stay right where I need them!Β  The stamps fit right on top of the dies πŸ™‚

Everything on this card is from Stampin’ Up! unless noted! πŸ™‚Β  I used a retired embossing folder with clouds for the background.Β  The So Saffron sun was die cut.Β  The bird is Marina Mist, and the branch is Pear Pizzazz.Β  The little thank you stamp is from Wishes Your Way (retired).

I had a lot of fun making this card, until I got Memento black ink fingerprints on it! 😦   It was so bad, I had to make a second one!Β  How disappointing! 😦  This card will be going into a box for one of my SAS4Kids hospitals πŸ™‚Β  I’m a little short of Thank You cards right now, so I’m going to try and make more πŸ™‚

I know you’re all waiting for more card inspiration and IΒ  have a bunch for you! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Judy Martin from PA πŸ™‚Β  Judy is a repeat sender, thank you Judy! πŸ™‚

Wonderful selection of cards, Judy! πŸ™‚Β  I love all the fun Summer and water cards! πŸ™‚Β  It was so much fun to add these to the boxes I just sent out!Β  Thank you Judy for being on my team! πŸ™‚

Next is Lisa Simokaitis from IL πŸ™‚Β  I love getting cards from my home state! πŸ™‚

Great cards Lisa! I love all the animals, I know the kids will too, thank you! πŸ™‚

Karen Peterson from NE is next πŸ™‚Β  Karen makes a lot of her cards from kits and they’re wonderful! πŸ™‚

Beautiful 3D flowers, Karen! πŸ™‚Β  These cards are shiny and have gold accents πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Karen! πŸ™‚

Last for tonight is Lillian Abrams of MI πŸ™‚Β  Lillian has a blog you can visit here πŸ™‚

The last two cards are 6×6, aren’t they adorable! ?Β  I love all these cards Lillian! These are all fun and colorful, just perfect for kids! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you so much! πŸ™‚

That’s all I have for today, I hope you all have enjoyed looking at these great inspirations! πŸ™‚Β Β  Please use all my links and check out all the sites mentioned! πŸ™‚

Thank you to all my card makers who make it possible for me to send cards through Send A Smile 4 Kids to my 3 hospitals in IL! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t do this without you!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see you all again soon! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made #240, SAS4Kids

I’m cutting it close, but I have some more Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  First, I have the card I made πŸ™‚Β  I will be submitting it to Freshly Made Sketches #240, and the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, Anything goes for Kids.

aSDC10593ab

I wanted to use my new Foxy Friends from Stampin’ Up!, but two people had already entered Foxy Friends.Β  I went with my second choice, Best Birds from Stampin’ Up! This set is awesome!Β  It comes with two bird stamps and 5 bird dies!Β  I colored it with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.Β  I used a sponge dauber to add the color:)

As will most of my cards, this one will go in a box with SAS4Kids cards to go to my hospitals πŸ™‚ I know it looks simple, but it’s granddaughter approved πŸ™‚Β  I love all the colors!

Ok, now on to my guest cards for today! πŸ™‚Β  First up is Debbie Caldwell of MI πŸ™‚

Thank you Debbie for a great selection! πŸ™‚Β  There are cards for boys and girls, young and older! πŸ™‚Β  At this time, I have the only SAS4Kids religious hospital, there is even a card for them! πŸ™‚Β  You are so thoughtful, thanks! πŸ™‚

Next is Donna Wakefield of IN πŸ™‚Β  Donna is a repeat sender πŸ™‚

Really nice cards, Donna, thank you! πŸ™‚Β  Also cards for different ages πŸ™‚Β  I love how Donna used the same boat image in different ways! πŸ™‚

Next is Holly Blaskie of MI πŸ™‚Β  Holly is also a repeat sender πŸ™‚

Holly picked some great designs and sent multiples of each πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Holly for your great cards! πŸ™‚

Next is Lee Mae Elkins of WA πŸ™‚Β  I truly get cards from all over the US! πŸ™‚Β  Lee Mae has also sent cards before πŸ™‚

More great cards with something for everyone! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Lee Mae, the kids will love sharing these with their dads! πŸ™‚

My last guest for today is Ann Williams of TN πŸ™‚Β  Ann has also sent cards before, I have a great team of card makers! πŸ™‚

Thank you Ann, for the fun and colorful cards! πŸ™‚Β  The kids will love these, and I’m sure their dads will too! πŸ™‚

All the card makers I have shown the past few weeks have really come through with great cards for dads! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate all the crafting you do for our kids and I know the kids do too! πŸ™‚Β  You all have amazing skills, and I’m so happy you use those skills to share your cards with us! πŸ™‚

I will be showing general cards all throughout the Summer πŸ™‚Β  Take it easy on yourselves and enjoy your Summer! πŸ™‚Β  I’m going to use everything I have on hand and then let you know what I need the most of πŸ™‚Β  You are all the best team I could ever ask for, Thank you all! πŸ™‚

It’s never too early for Fall, Halloween and dare I say, Christmas cards! lol

I hope to be back soon with more cards to share for your pleasure and inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you all for coming by today! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #231 & SAS4Kids

I started feeling much better this week after taking some antibiotics! πŸ™‚Β  No one knows what was exactly wrong, but the meds worked, YAY! πŸ™‚

Today I have a card I made for Freshly Made Sketches #231.Β  I will also enter it into our own Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, which is For Moms or Special Females from kids:)

FMS Final 231-001SDC19882

Yes, I stay pretty close to the sketches;)Β  you’re probably thinking I cut the two pieces on the right.Β  Nope, I actually cut two very small strips of black.Β  I should have added one on the left of my image too, I still may, before sending to one of my hospitals πŸ™‚

The back is black, on top of that is my background image.Β  I should have taken a photo because it’s not a very wide image and what I did was put one image on the left and the other on the right and there is white in the center.Β  You only see one image that way.Β  The background image is from PC Hugware.Β  They’re no longer in business:(Β  But, you can get the cute Nolan & the BullFrog from Fred She Said! πŸ™‚

I was reminded of this image by my daughter telling her kids the other day how her and her brothers went fishing one year and when they came home they knocked on the door.Β  When I went to the door, they had this big bull frog right in my face, made me jump! lol Right away I thought of little Nolan taking his mom a bull frog for Mother’s Day πŸ™‚

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes πŸ™‚

Ok, that’s enough from me, I have two guests today, the first is Ann Merkins of MN πŸ™‚

You really need to click on these and make them bigger! πŸ™‚Β  Ann has told me she makes these cards with napkins!Β  She didn’t tell me how she does it though:(Β  They’re sparkly! πŸ™‚

I have never seen napkins this pretty in my life! πŸ™‚Β  They really make beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

The card on the far left is so beautiful, the colors are stunning!Β  I really like the card on the far right too! πŸ™‚Β  Ann made several quilt cards in different colors and designs, they’re all beautiful! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Ann for such wonderful cards for our kids to share with their moms! πŸ™‚

Next I have Janelle Klapperich of SD πŸ™‚

You all know I love when you use the same papers, layouts or images in different ways! πŸ™‚ The two cards on the left look really different, even though they’re basically the same πŸ˜‰Β  Now I could split these up and send to two different hospitals, but I don’t think it would matter, even if they were on the same floor πŸ˜‰

Janelle uses a lot of Stampin’ Up! products! πŸ™‚Β  All three of the cards to the right are made with Botanical Blooms, stamp and die bundle.Β  Also the one above with the yellow flower πŸ™‚Β  It’s still available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Occasions Catalog until May 31st! πŸ™‚Β  Yes, I do sell Stampin’ Up!, I just don’t push anyone to buy it πŸ˜‰

I didn’t buy this set, because I didn’t care for the examples I had seen 😦  If I had seen Janelle’s examples I would have had this already! πŸ™‚Β  The green card in the center is gorgeous!Β Β  Janelle did such a great job, you should enlarge it πŸ˜‰

Here’s a peek at some Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  More Stampin’ Up! products! πŸ™‚Β  These are all great Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  I really love the plane, and I have that set! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Janelle for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I’m sure the dads will be thrilled! πŸ™‚

Well, I’m off to bed, I won’t stay well if I don’t get my sleep!Β  It snowed here last night and was still on the grass this morning!Β  I hope you all are having some better weather! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you all have a great week and come back again soon! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #228 & SAS4Kids

I know I say this all the time, but……I am so far behind!Β  I missed a whole week, I’m so sorry! 😦  I’m going to make up for it by showing you lots of cards! πŸ™‚Β  First, I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #228 πŸ™‚

FMS Final 228-001

aSDC19687

This card is mostly digital, with my main image coming from Raspberry Road Designs πŸ™‚Β  I can’t remember exactly which set it was from, but if you’d like to know just ask:)Β  The blue paper was also in the set, I printed it with the main image on Epson Presentation Paper-MatteΒ  I really like this paper because it’s nice and thick so you can print and cut things and still pop them up if you would like to.Β  The sentiment came from a stamp set that was gifted to me.Β  I think it was Markie’sΒ  Finest Paper, but I won’t swear to that;)Β  I mounted the whole thing onto a white base, because that’s what I usually do:)Β  Quite Simply Made, but I think a kid in the hospital is going to love it when added to a box of Send A Smile 4 Kids cards! πŸ™‚

Now for more SAS4Kids cards, I have a number of guests:)Β  We’ll see how many we can fit in;)Β  First up is Lisa Simokaitis of IL, Lisa is a first time sender to me:)

Lisa sent these really beautiful Easter cards and a number of others:)Β  Thank you Lisa for thinking of our kids, these are beautiful cards for our kids and/or their parents! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! πŸ™‚

Judy Martin is from PA, and has sent cards a few times:)

Judy has done a lot of water coloring on her cards, lovely! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these adorable! ?Β  I’m not sure about the chicks, but the other 3 cards are Lawn Fawn! πŸ™‚Β  I love how she used the pink polka dot cut-out on the green card! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Judy for being on my team! πŸ™‚

Donna Wakefield has sent cards in many times:)Β  Her cards are usually one of a kind, and they’re always great! πŸ™‚Β  Donna has her own blog that you can go visit:)Β  http://designbydonna.blogspot.com/

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Don’t you just love these!?Β  Be sure to check out Donna’s blog to see how she makes her cards!Β  Thank you Donna for always keeping our kids in mind! πŸ™‚

Next is Andrea La Vigne from TX:)Β  Andrea has sent cards in more than a few times, and she also has a blog you can visit! πŸ™‚Β  http://andreaspaperantics.blogspot.com/

Andrea doesn’t send a lot of cards at a time, but what she sends are great cards! πŸ™‚Β Β  Andrea also does a lot of water coloring:)Β  Thank you Andrea for always sending cards for the kids, I know they love your cards! πŸ™‚

Karin Hendrickson is from MO, she also doesn’t send a lot of cards at one time, but she sends pretty often:)

Karin makes these really beautiful cards, I think they’re screen fold cards, but I’m not sure.Β  Beside Easter she sent a number for Mother’s Day, which hopefully I’ll remember to show you at a later time;)Β  I love all the cute images and the flower is just beautiful in hand! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a closer look, isn’t this wonderful! ?Β  She’s sent these in before for other holidays, these must be so much fun for the kids to sit next to their beds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Karin for making such thoughtful, and fun cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

I told you, tons of cards today! πŸ™‚Β  Two more guests!Β  First is Jan Kloss of TX:)Β  Jan is a friend of my friend Jill Blasche:)Β  They like to get together and craft, so you’ll see some of the same papers used by each, but their cards are not the same:)

Jan’s cards are so cute, I actually used some for Easter and some for Spring, she sent multiples of each of these! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jan, I love seeing your cards in Jill’s boxes! πŸ™‚

Jill Blasche is a good friend of mine from TX:)Β  I love getting her cards, she always sends multiples so each of my three hospitals are sure to get some! πŸ™‚

On the left are two of Jill’s examples of how she makes for my “regular” hospitals and for my “no embellishment” hospital.Β  She is so clever, they are pretty much the same, but the “regular” hospitals get ribbon and gems, the “no embellishment hospital doesn’t.Β  Not so hard, if I didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference;)Β  On the right, you can see some of the paper Jan used, but the cards don’t look the same:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I love these two cards! πŸ™‚Β  The one on the left is great for my “no embellishment” hospital and the one on the right is great for my other hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  Same sentiment, but totally different cards! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for always being open to a challenge and thinking of all my kids! πŸ™‚

I hope I didn’t wear you all out today with all the wonderful examples of cards to make for kids, or anyone! πŸ™‚Β  I can’t express how much my card makers mean to me and the kids I serve! πŸ™‚

I want to thank everyone for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope I can come back sooner to share some more great cards with you all! πŸ™‚

Be sure to visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see more cards or to join in! πŸ™‚Β  Tomorrow will start a new challenge, “For the Boys”.

I was sick, and down for a while, but now I’m better and playing catch-up! πŸ™‚Β  I have lots to show you tonight, so lets get started! πŸ™‚Β  First I have a card that I made and I will submit it to two different challenges.Β  Merry Monday #184 and Freshly Made #217.

184Freshly Made Sketches, has a sketch;)

FMS Final 217-001My card stayed pretty much to the sketch, which is what I normally do;)

aSDC18622

UPDATE:Β  My card has the honor of wining the Merry Monday #184 challenge! πŸ™‚

Winner Badge

For this card I used a digital image from Raspberry Road Designs, from the Christmas Cookies collection.Β  I also used one of the papers from the paper pack that goes with this collection.Β  I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red, and either Wild Wasabi or Pear Pizzazz for the words.Β  I cut the words with a die from Elizabeth Craft Designs, and the middle rectangle, I cut with Lawn Fawn Small Stitched Rectangles.Β  I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop-up my sentiment:)

I’m pretty pleased that I was able to pull a card of any kind together in the last couple days, so I hope you like it:)

I have 5 guests today!Β  I will be showing only a few cards from each guest, and then I’m done showing Christmas cards for this year!Β  So hold on tight, here we go! πŸ™‚

My first guest is Lee Mae Elkins:)Β  This is the second time Lee Mae has sent cards to me, personally, for my hospitals:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALee Mae sent a nice selection of cards:)Β  I have to admit, it was really hard to pick just a few from each guest.Β  I picked these because I thought they were all so much fun! πŸ™‚Β  Kids love animals of just about any kind and dress them up for Christmas and it’s all the better! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Lee Mae for sending such wonderful cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

Next is Kayla Ford from IL, not too far from where I live:)Β  Kayla is a repeat sender:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAll of Kayla’s cards are bright and cheerful, with lots of colors and patterns! πŸ™‚Β  Kayla’s cards remind me of quilts:)Β  Thank you so much Kayla for thinking of our kids again to cheer them for Christmas! πŸ™‚

My next guest has sent in a number of times before, Andrea La Vigne from TX:)Β  Andrea has her own blog that you can check out to see how she makes her cards:)Β  Pop over to see her blog Andrea’s Antics, hereπŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these all cute! ?Β  Andrea does wonderful coloring and water coloring! πŸ™‚ I know the Reindeer is from one of our sponsors at SAS4Kids, but I’m sorry, I don’t know which one:(Β  Maybe someone could fill us in on that?Β  I love how Andrea positioned him on her card! πŸ™‚Β  Great cards Andrea, thank you for being a repeat sender, I know the kids love your cards! πŸ™‚

Holly Blaskie from MI, is my next guest:)Β  Holly is also a repeat sender:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHolly used some really cute cats this time, and some really pretty silver accents:)Β  The tall card next to the kitty has the silver, but it looks kind of black:(Β  Holly sent in 75 cards this time, it was hard to pick just 4!Β  Thank you Holly for your continued support of our kids, they will really love these cards! πŸ™‚

My last Christmas cards for this year were sent in by Geri Dean and her sister Melanie Carruth of MN:)Β  Geri and her sister sent in an amazing 151 cards! πŸ™‚Β  I know everyone can’t send in that many, and I assure you, every card counts toward a box for a hospital!Β  Don’t ever feel rushed or that you have to do as many as someone else!Β  I don’t care if you send 5 cards, you are making a difference in a child’s life! πŸ™‚Β  Every card made and sent, is a happy smile in an envelope to a child! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANow aren’t these fun! πŸ™‚Β  The first cards are made with Lawn Fawn, I have those little birds! πŸ™‚Β  I’ve made some of these little penguins, and Geri has these wonderful horse stamps that she uses a lot:)Β  Here she’s added Christmas paper and a sentiment to really dress it up!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOk, there were a lot of cards, I really had a hard time narrowing it down!Β  I love the soft, cute animals in the first set, and the last card is genius! πŸ™‚Β  The tree card had the background paper and sentiment added, and then included is a set of stickers that a child can decorate themselves!Β  I’ve never seen this, what a great idea! πŸ™‚Β  They can put on the tree and the little ornaments any way they want to, what fun! πŸ™‚Β  I took off the paper clips and put the cards and stickers into a clear envelope along with a regular envelope.Β  Geri and Melanie always send in great cards, thank you ladies for working so hard to made Christmas a wonderful time of the year! πŸ™‚

I want to thank every single card maker who spent time making cards to bring a smile to the faces of our kids here at Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  Without all of you, we would not be able to do what we, the volunteers, do! πŸ™‚Β  The world is a crazy place, I believe we, cardmakers and volunteers,Β  are doing an important job, that affects lots of kids all over the USA!Β  I am so proud to share your talents and pieces of art with our kids!:)

I thank you all for your help making Christmas brighter for so many! πŸ™‚

I wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to continue working with you through the next year! πŸ™‚

Friday Mashup #236, SAS4Kids & Guests

I’ve been sick and in hiding for 4 or 5 days:(Β  I’m tired of being sick, so I’m here to share some Christmas cards! πŸ™‚Β Β  Hopefully, I’ll stay awake! πŸ˜‰Β  I’m going to submit this first card to theΒ  Friday Mashup #236πŸ™‚

FM236

This week’s Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project inspired byΒ Christmas Cookies.
  • Create a project with Dies.
  • or Mash it Up!Β and create aΒ project using Christmas Cookies and Dies.

aaSDC18599From Stampin’ Up! I used Red Glimmer paper and sequins.Β  The main image is from Doodle Pantry called, Milk and Cookies.Β  If you click on it to make it bigger, it gets blurry:(Β  I don’t know why, it didn’t happen until I added my Watermark:(

I also made a card for Freshly Made Sketches, but with being sick, I missed their deadline:(Β  But here’s my card:) I’m going to enter it into the Challenge over at Doodle Pantry, Ants in my Pantry Digital Challenge 12.

aaSDC18601I used the same Stampin’ Up! Red Glimmer paper, and the same Doodle Pantry image.Β  I changed the layout to match the sketch, and used some cookie border that I found in my stash:)Β  I think it’s pretty cute and I’m sure a kid will love it next year, when I send it out for Send A Smile 4 Kids:)

Now, on to my guests who have sent in cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  These cards have already been sent out:)Β  My first guest is a friend of mine who I know through Stampin’ Up! πŸ™‚Β  She knows how much I love SAS4Kids, so she sent in some cards:)Β  Welcome Debbie Essay from PA:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI believe all of Debbie’s cards were made with Stampin’ Up! products, but since my head is still full of cotton balls, I’m not going to look them all up unless you ask;)Β  Aren’t these cute! πŸ™‚Β  The kids are going to love them! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANow I know off the top of my head, that the tree, candy can and the gingerbread men, all came from the same set.Β  It has stamps with matching dies (retired).Β  Now look at these snowglobes, they’re from the 2015 Holiday catalog and I think they’re still available:)Β  The set also includes a ballerina.Β  I love how she did the two cards on the right.Β  It reminds me of how you make a card and then step it up for the second card:) I remember this set is called Sparkly Seasons.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese Santa’s remind me of the step it up cards too.Β  Santa is here on the left, then in both cards on the right:)Β  Great coloring, Debbie:)Β  I love the snowman card also:)Β  I’m sure kids will be getting these cards this week and next:)Β  Thank you Debbie for joining us and sharing your talents! πŸ™‚

My next guest is a first time sender:)Β  Hopefully we’ll see more of her cards in the future:)Β  Please welcome Ann Merkins from MN:)Β  Ann has shared with me that she makes most of her cards with napkins! πŸ™‚Β  They have a beautiful sparkly shine to them:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI checked out the snowmen and if you click on them to make them bigger, you can see some of the sparkle;)Β  Beautiful cards! ;0

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t know where Ann finds these, I’ve never seen napkins like this!Β  The kids are really going to love all the sparkle and shine! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #210 Simply Made

I have a really simple card today, although it take me longer than I thought it would;)Β  I tend to start with one idea and then change it a couple times before deciding on my final layout:)Β  Today, there is a really good reason for a simple card, you can read about it here at Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  I’ve had a request from one of my hospitals for cards with NO embellishments!Β  I know, seriously!Β  I always try my best to fulfill requests, so I thought the Freshly Made Sketch #210 was a really good place to start! πŸ™‚ Here’s their sketch:

FMS Final 210-001Looks pretty simple, right?Β  Well, my card is pretty simple too:)

aSDC18093This may not be the most simple card I’ve ever made, but it must be pretty close!Β  There are no embellishments on this card!Β  The sentiment and the branch are both rubber stamped.Β  The birds are rubber stamped and then colored with my Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities (discontinued).Β  The stamp set is from Lawn Fawn, Winter Sparrows, as well as the dies.Β  Please stare at my wonderful coloring, since you know I hardly ever color! lol

I’ve chosen a guest who has done a wonderful job showing off her cards with no embellishments!Β  This is only the second box of cards I’ve received from Ruby Haugen of MN.Β  Ruby has done a really good job and I welcome her to my blog:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAll of Ruby’s cards have really cute, kid friendly, images! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI believe Ruby used mostly colored pencils to color her images:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERARuby has used some wonderful papers and colors! πŸ™‚Β  She’s also layered her papers and images so they are almost flat! All of her embellishments are paper!Β  There is nothing on these cards that can be pulled off that isn’t safe for children who may put things in their mouths! πŸ™‚

Thank you Ruby for your wonderful cards, I know the kids will love these cards with fun colors and great images! πŸ™‚

Over on the SAS4Kids challenge blog there’s still one week left to enter cards for the Celebration Cards 4 Kids card challenge!Β  On November 7th we will be starting Happy Holidays 4 Kids!Β  Enter our challenge or just check out what others have made! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate your support! πŸ™‚Β  Come again soon for more cards! πŸ™‚

Merry Monday #176, Freshly Made #209, and a tribute to a cardmaker

I have a lot to share with you tonight!Β  Two cards and then a tribute to a fellow cardmaker with lots of card photos!Β Β  First, I have a need for some very simple cards to send on behalf of Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  I’ve made two to share with you tonight, the first one if for Merry Monday #176. I know if you go to their page, the title is very confusing, because this is #176, but the page says #175.Β  I know it’s #176 because I entered #175 last week;)

Merry Monday #176

I found this challenge, well, a challenge.Β  I was over thinking what I wanted to do.Β  I keep thinking I should add more, but that would defeat my purpose of a simple card.Β  Did I mention I was asked to make cards with no embellishments?

aSDC18018For this card, I cut some of the new Red Foil paper from Stampin’ Up!Β  I cut the paper A2 size and then used a die to cut out the center, creating a frame for the rest of the card.Β  Now here is where you might be confused.Β  The image is a pre colored digital image.Β  Actually, everything, including the black “chalkboard” are all digital images.

I printed the “chalkboard” with a white border around it, then added my “frame”.Β  The black is actually much blacker in hand, not so white and the colors pop more than I was able to get in my photo:(Β  But, you can see the shimmer on the left side of my foil paper;)

FMS Final 209-001Yep, here’s where I got my inspiration;)

aSDC18022But I made two cards! πŸ™‚Β  This card will be entered into the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #209. This is what I did with the center of my “frame”.Β  The same info applies to this card, all digital! πŸ˜‰Β  Now if you’ve never made a digital card, please don’t think it’s an easy way out!Β  Even with this simple design, I had tons of problems! 😦  I tried to print both on one piece of paper, but the program said I had used too much memory, so I deleted one whole card!Β  Still wouldn’t print, and it wouldn’t save either!!Β  I had to close the program and start all over!Β  How frustrating!Β  Then it would only let me do one card image, so I had to print one, and then flip the paper over and print again!

I don’t give up that easily!Β  It did let me save the last one so I can make more if I would like to:)Β  Maybe with added snowflakes, but I’ll have to stamp them because the program wouldn’t let me do that either! Modern conveniences to help make our lives easier, right?! lol

_____________________________________________________

This next section is my tribute to the mother of one of my friends and fellow cardmakers.Β  My friend, Jill Blasche, who has sent many cards for SAS4Kids, sent in a large box which included a good number of cards from her mother, Helen Matrisciani.Β  I emailed Jill when the cards arrived and she told me her mother had a fall and was in the hospital:(

I kept in touch with Jill over the next few days, and her mother had come home and seemed to be getting better.Β  Then I didn’t hear anything for a few days, and I was worried.Β  I sent a message to Jill and found out her mother had passed:(Β  I don’t know all the details and it doesn’t really matter. Someone I cared about had lost her mother, I was so incredibly sad! 😦  It’s difficult to know what to say or do:(Β  How do you help?Β  All I could do was pray for my friend and her family.

I lost my mother only a year and a half ago, I understand how hard it is! 😦  Jill lived very near her mother, they did lots of things together!  Jill wanted me to express how much she treasured her time doing things with her mother! They loved making cards together and would share ideas back and forth.  Jill said that her mother gave her her love of art and crafts:) Jill said her mother was a very giving person, and I believe it! Helen was 93 years young when she passed.  I believe she will be missed by many, and remembered with love!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALooking at Helen’s cards, I can see where Jill gets her talent for using the same images or paper and making the cards very different!Β  The paper on the ghost card is the same as the skeleton only turned sideways.Β  And look at the two skeletons, both are very different cards using a very similar image.Β  Jill was a little embarrassed that I had said she uses the same paper, but actually, I am very impressed!Β  It’s a talent to use the same images or papers and make your cards look different!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother example, lots of similar images, but different papers and layouts! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANot too scary:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these fun?!Β  Helen truly sent cards for all ages! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love these Halloween pumpkins, lots of color!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are the last four cards I’m sharing.Β  Helen sent in an incredible 78 cards! πŸ™‚Β  I love this orange hats floating in the air and the cards on the right are bright and shiny with lots of glitter glue that won’t come off! πŸ™‚Β  What an amazing group of cards and they have already been shipped out to my hospitals, I know they will be loved by our kids!

It’s truly not what we take with us, it’s what we leave behind.Β  Loving children with handed down gifts and memories to last forever! πŸ™‚

Hugs and prayers, Jill!

Freshly Made #208, The Friday Mashup #230 & SAS4Kids

I got another card made! πŸ™‚Β  And, I’m going to enter it into two different challenges!Β  The first one is Freshly Made Sketches #208, the second one isΒ  The Friday Mashup #230.

FMS Final 208-001FM230F

This week’s Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project featuring Donuts or Baked Goods.
  • Create a project with a Friendship Theme.
  • or Mash it Up!Β and create a Friendship themed project with Donuts.

This is so sad, I have no donuts:(Β  So I substituted baked goods:)

aaSDC17964I wanted to meet the both of the challenge rules and still make a card that a child will love.Β  I think I did it! πŸ™‚Β  What kid isn’t going to love Gingerbread cookies?Β  The central image and the background paper are digital images from Raspberry Road Designs.Β  The set I used is called Christmas Tradition, I used two sets, the Paper and the Side Clusters Set 1.Β  The sentiment, which I thought was perfect, I found in a set called Fancy Pie, from Doodle Pantry.

I can’t remember what die I used for the circle, but the oval punches are both Stampin’ Up!Β  I also used Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Garden Green cardstock.Β  The sequins are Stampin’ Up! and I used some Dazzling Details on the snowflake.Β  Of course, this card was approved by my grandchildren;)

Even though I didn’t use a stamp set on this card, I’d like to mention that Stampin’ Up! is having a 15% off sale on stamp sets next week Oct. 19th thru Oct. 23rd.Β  I’d be happy to order some sets for you is you don’t have a demonstrator:)Β  If you have a demonstrator, be sure to ask about the 15% off sale! πŸ™‚

Now, I just can’t walk away from Halloween yet;)Β  I have a special guest today from Canada, Diane Herniman! πŸ™‚Β  Diane makes cards like I’ve never seen!Β  All my cardmakers are special, I love all their different styles! πŸ™‚Β  Diane’s cards are just another different style:)Β  I couldn’t copy them if I tried!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere is the card front, is that wonderful?!Β  All of Diane’s cards are different! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’m sorry the back is so blurry, but the cards are all shipped already and I can’t redo:(Β  But you can see that a cat card is coming up, right?Β  Look at the inside of this one, very detailed:)
