SAS4Kids and More Fall

Here we are with another card for Send A Smile 4 Kids πŸ™‚Β  I also have some cards with other sentiments on Fall themed paper πŸ™‚Β  My post this week will be short, sorry 😦  My computer was down for over two days and I got really far behind on everything! 😦  I did make it back online in time to post my card for today’s challenge, yay! πŸ™‚

So, here’s my card, made especially for a kid at one of “my” SAS4Kids hospitals πŸ™‚

aDSC00613

This card was made with an adorable, pre-colored, digital image from Fred She Said Designs πŸ™‚Β  It’s called Halloween Rosey and it’s in the store πŸ™‚Β  It comes pre-colored or uncolored in a set.

I also used a new color from Stampin’ Up! called Gorgeous Grape.Β  The Die Cuts are Stampin’ Up! as well as the Halloween Paper (retired), Washi Tape (retired), and the thick Whisper White card base πŸ™‚Β  I found this sentiment in my stash of stamps.

The new Stampin’ Up Holiday catalog will be out next week and I’ll have it on my sidebar to the right if you’d like to check out what’s new for this holiday season! πŸ™‚

The current challenge #178 is Cute Fall or Halloween cards 4 kids or Anything Goes, please stop by and check out the other DT cards and enter your card! πŸ™‚

Now I have donor Alissa McKinney of IN! πŸ™‚Β  Alissa sent in some really cute cards with different sentiments and Fall/Halloween themed papers πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Alissa for continuing to be one of my donors, I know the kids will love your cards! πŸ™‚

DSC00599

Lots of leaves, pumpkins, owls, and wonderful colors! πŸ™‚Β  Sentiments include: You’re so sweet, A Halloween hello, Hello, You brighten my day, Happy Birthday, Happy day, and Enjoy the little things πŸ™‚Β  Lots of inspiration here! πŸ™‚

Winter “themed” cards can look similar using Winter papers and adding general sentiments such as these above πŸ™‚Β  Winter has sledding, penguins, skating, snowball fights, moose, deer, snowmen, or snow women πŸ˜‰Β  I’ll be showing you some Winter cards coming up soon πŸ™‚

I’m sorry for such a short post today, the computer being offline has really messed with me and a lot of the things I do 😦  Please come back again to see what is going on with more cards! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate your interest in my blog and Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #308 & SAS4Kids

OMGoodness, it’s been too long again! 😦  I thought when school started it would calm down here……not so much πŸ˜‰Β  But, I made a card!Β  Big laugh for those of you who send in cards for my hospitals!Β Β  Yes, I made one card! lolΒ  And I’m going to enter that card at Freshly Made Sketches #308.Β  Here’s their sketch πŸ™‚

FMS Final 308-001

Those of you who know me, know that I stick pretty close to the sketch, so here’s my card:

aDSC01409

Everything on this card is Stampin’ Up!Β  Almost everything is from the new Holiday catalog that you can see here on my page, upper right.Β  The sentiment is from an older set, but still Stampin’ Up!Β  I used the new Christmas Quilt Stamp set, Quilt Builder Framelits Dies, Quilted Christmas 6×6 Designer Series Paper, Stitched Felt Embellishments and the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Quite a mouthful, but I can hardly wait to use it for other occasions than Christmas!Β  Also used is Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Cardstock, and one of the sheets from the Designer paper stack.Β  I hope you like it πŸ™‚

Now, on to my guests! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Janelle Klapperich of SD πŸ™‚

Thank you Janelle for these great Halloween cards and I love the Dinos! πŸ™‚

Next, I have Andrea La Vigne of TX, who has a blog of her own that you can see here πŸ™‚

Ok, the last one on the right, is because I just thought they were so darn cute! πŸ™‚Β  Not for Halloween, just because πŸ˜‰Β  Thank you Andrea for these wonderful cards, these are sure to please! πŸ™‚

Last is Lillian Abrams from MI πŸ™‚Β  Lillian says she has a friend who colored a lot of the cards and then she put them together, great job ladies! πŸ™‚Β  Now this is a set up to get you in the mood for……..Christmas! πŸ™‚

Thank you Lillian and your friend for these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  Look at all the girls cards, we need some boy cards πŸ˜‰Β  Boy images are so hard to find 😦  Although I’m sure they would like Santa and the snowmen! πŸ™‚

Thank you ladies for all your effort and dedication! πŸ™‚Β  You make the world kids live in a better place! πŸ™‚

Thank you all for coming to visit today, I hope you found some inspiration, and had some fun! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate every one of you, even if you don’t make cards! πŸ™‚

I hope to see you again! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #304 & SAS4Kids

Thanks for coming back to visit, I’m excited to be here today! πŸ™‚Β  It’s been a long week with my 3 year old granddaughter visiting with her brother 6.Β  They don’t get along very well, so there’s been a lot of arguing 😦  Grandchildren are so strange, they just don’t get that grandma has enough love for all of them!

So here’s what is going on today, believe it or not, I actually asked for another granddaughter to visit and keep the 3 year old busy, so as I’m trying to write this blog, I have three kids running around and hubby has gone to work some overtime!Β  I know, glutton for punishment! πŸ˜‰

I have a card to share and I also have a bunch of cards from donors to share, so I hope you have time to stick around! πŸ™‚

First, I have a card that I will share with Freshly Made Sketches #304. Then I will also share it over on the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog.Β  You can also make a card and share with either or both of these challenges! πŸ™‚Β  Here is the sketch for this week:

FMS Final 304-001

And here is my card:

aDSC01178

For this card I used all Stampin’ Up! products.Β  Everything is in the new holiday catalog that you can find on this page, top right.Β  You can contact me if you would like to order anything πŸ™‚Β  The background paper is the only thing that is retired, it’s Motley Monsters.

DSC01181

The word paper, the cat and the hat all come from the new Spooky Night paper.

DSC01180

The stamp set, Spooky Cat, comes in a bundle with the cat punch.Β  I cut the cat out of the paper with the punch.Β  I cut a strip of the worded paper, and then I fussy cut one of the hats out of the paper. I used a Stampin’ Up! punch to cut my So Saffron moon and then one of the Layering Circle Framelits to cut the back circle.Β  This card was a lot of fun to make, and I’m hoping one of our SAS4K children will love it! πŸ™‚Β  Here’s a look at the set:

20170614_Holiday17_en-US-page53

Ok, enough about me, now on to my guests! πŸ™‚

First up is Donna Wakefield from IN πŸ™‚

Thanks Donna for these great cards!Β  I’m sure the kids will enjoy them and have lots of fun showing them off! πŸ™‚Β  Donna has also used a number of Stampin’ Up! products πŸ™‚Β  I know for sure I will be using that cute scarecrow! πŸ™‚

Next is Barbara Roe of CA πŸ™‚

Ok, the first two are holiday cards, but I love them so much I have to share! πŸ™‚Β  I also love the turkey, same image, two totally different cards! πŸ™‚

I love when the same papers or images are used to create different cards! πŸ˜‰

Thank you Barbara, I love your papers and images, these will be loved throughout the season or even longer! πŸ™‚

Lastly I have Lisa Simokaitis who lives not too far from me here in IL πŸ™‚Β  Look closely at Lisa’s cards, these are one of the best uses of stickers, 3D stickers, and 3D embellishments I’ve ever seen! πŸ™‚

Thank you Lisa, these are wonderful cards for Halloween and Thanksgiving! πŸ™‚Β  I don’t often get a lot of Thanksgiving cards so these are a real treat πŸ™‚

Thank you all of my team donors, you’ve all done a wonderful job of expressing yourselves for our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I don’t think I can ever thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication! πŸ™‚Β  It may seem small in the light of current events, but you are making a difference in a child’s life, be proud! πŸ™‚

Thank you to any and all of you who have taken the time to look through my post! πŸ™‚Β  You’re welcome to join us on our mission or just pass through and get inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  If you have time, take a look at the Freshly Made Sketches blog, and also the SAS4Kids blog! πŸ™‚

Merry Monday #218 & SAS4Kids

I know, it’s Thursday and in the middle of the day, but I finally got a card done and wanted to post it! πŸ™‚ Β  Maybe I can even make another card and have two cards this week!Β  I can always dream! lol

I have a card for Merry Monday the #218 challenge! πŸ™‚Β  I will also submit it to the current challenge over at Send A Smile 4 Kids ! πŸ™‚Β  Here is the challenge over at Merry Monday πŸ™‚

218

1asdc11475

I love plaid so I had fun making this card! πŸ™‚Β  I used Wink of Stella on the roof and chimney for the snow, it looks really pretty πŸ™‚Β  The card wouldn’t stay flat for me to take the photo, so it’s looks a little lopsided.Β  The circle is actually sized correctly.

The paper on the left is from Stampin’ Up!, Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.Β  I also cut the little cottage out of another sheet of paper from the same series.Β  I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red, and Early Espresso card stock.Β  The plaid paper came from an Etsy store.

I used a Stampin’ Up! matching stamp set called Candy Cane Christmas for the sentiment and the little mint candies.Β  The current holiday catalog runs until Jan. 3, 2017, but may run short close to the end.Β  You can contact me to purchase Stampin’ Up! products πŸ™‚

Do I have guest cards today?Β  Of course I do! πŸ™‚Β  First up is Ann Williams of TX πŸ™‚

Thank you Ann for these wonderful Halloween cards! πŸ™‚

Next is Nanci Simmons of FL πŸ™‚

Thank you Nanci, great non-scary cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

Next up is Janelle Klapperich of SD πŸ™‚

Thank you Janelle for the Halloween and the great Fall cards as well ! πŸ™‚

One more set of cards for today from Debbie Eassy of PA πŸ™‚

Thank you Debbie, wonderful cards for the kids to enjoy! πŸ™‚

I’d like to thank all of my card donors, what awesome cards for all of our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I’m pleased to see so many of you using Stampin’ Up! products! πŸ™‚Β  It’s so much fun for me to see new examples of Stampin’ Up! cards! πŸ™‚Β  I am so thankful to have all of you on “my” team! πŸ™‚

Even if you don’t donate cards, I still appreciate you coming by and seeing all the wonderful examples of cards we have to share! πŸ™‚

Be sure to stop by Merry Monday and our own challenge at SAS4Kids! πŸ™‚Β  I still have some Halloween and Fall to share and then it will be on to Christmas! πŸ™‚Β  I love Christmas cards, I think they’re my favorites……maybe πŸ˜‰Β  lolΒ  I actually love all handmade cards! πŸ™‚

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you can come by again soon! πŸ™‚

Doodle Pantry & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’ve been sick for a few days, and I’m afraid it may get worse, before it gets better 😦  Probably just a cold, I don’t understand how they can make you feel so miserable! 😦

I have the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog near the top on the right side of my page! πŸ™‚Β  You can order now if you’re interested, I’d be happy to be your Demonstrator! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginnings of Fall ! πŸ™‚Β  I love Fall and I have a number of cards to share with you today! πŸ™‚

First is my card for the Doodle Pantry sponsorship of Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  I will enter it in both blogs πŸ™‚

asdc11212

Hmmm, it looks blurry here, but if you click to enlarge, it looks just fine πŸ™‚ I used some misc. paper on the right, a couple stickers on the left, and an digital image by one of our sponsors, Doodle Pantry! πŸ™‚Β  To make the card, I used Thinlits-Circle Card die (retired) by Stampin’ Up!Β  It’s so easy to make this cute card ! πŸ™‚

Now for some fun SAS4Kids donor cards! πŸ™‚Β  First I want to show some cards from my friend,Β  Jill Blasche of TX πŸ™‚Β  She has made some great examples of Fall themed cards that aren’t Halloween.Β  She also has sent in some cards made for two of my hospitals and then changed them up just a little, so they can go to my hospital with no embellishments πŸ™‚

Ok, the orange one looks kind of Halloween, but it doesn’t have to be πŸ˜‰Β  Both cards are made two ways.Β  On the orange card, it’s made with googly eyes on the left, and on the right, it has just card stock eyes.Β  On the leaf card, on the right, you can see she used some string and a button.Β  On the left there is a paper button and just a strip of card stock in brown.Β  All of the cards are great and with minimal effort, changed into a card with no embellishments!

Again, the black card could be Halloween, but it has a general sentiment.Β  The black card on the left has ribbon, and the one on the right has card stock that looks like a ribbon πŸ™‚Β  The pumpkin card has a nice Fall theme, with a general sentiment.Β  the one on the right has ribbon and three gems.Β  The one on the right has green card stock and three punched holes to represent gems, very clever πŸ™‚

Two more that look like Halloween, but have general sentiments, and two more that are very Fall looking πŸ™‚

Four general cards included in the box, I love the birds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for all these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚

Next I have cards from Diane Herniman from ON, Canada πŸ™‚Β  Diane makes wonderful cards with flowers from her garden and her dog, birds, and other live or flying things in her yard!

This is the front and inside of one of Diane’s cards.

On the left is the front and back of the card, and on the right is the inside πŸ™‚

All card fronts, gorgeous photos! πŸ™‚

On the left are two fronts and on the right is the envelope and card front πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for your beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

Next is Yara Baird from WA,and she has a blog you can visit HERE.Β  Yara may have sent to other volunteers at SAS4Kids, but she is new to me πŸ™‚ Yara has sent in a wide variety in her box! πŸ™‚

Summer all the way to New Year! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Yara for your wonderful cards! I know the kids will enjoy these cards! πŸ™‚

I know, it’s a long blog, but I’ve been gone a while πŸ˜‰Β  One last donor, and that is Vicki Luebke of IN πŸ™‚Β  Vicki sends in a lot of cards, she is really good with encouragement cards! πŸ™‚

Great cards, Vicki, wonderful selection! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Vicki for your continued support of our kids! πŸ™‚

All of the card makers on my team are talented and generous!! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t do my job without all of you! πŸ™‚

It’s taken me two days to finish this or more, I can’t remember, I hate being sick! 😦

I want to thank all of my cardmakers and everyone who has stopped by today for some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to be back soon with a brain that’s not filled with oatmeal!

Merry Monday #176, Freshly Made #209, and a tribute to a cardmaker

I have a lot to share with you tonight!Β  Two cards and then a tribute to a fellow cardmaker with lots of card photos!Β Β  First, I have a need for some very simple cards to send on behalf of Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  I’ve made two to share with you tonight, the first one if for Merry Monday #176. I know if you go to their page, the title is very confusing, because this is #176, but the page says #175.Β  I know it’s #176 because I entered #175 last week;)

Merry Monday #176

I found this challenge, well, a challenge.Β  I was over thinking what I wanted to do.Β  I keep thinking I should add more, but that would defeat my purpose of a simple card.Β  Did I mention I was asked to make cards with no embellishments?

aSDC18018For this card, I cut some of the new Red Foil paper from Stampin’ Up!Β  I cut the paper A2 size and then used a die to cut out the center, creating a frame for the rest of the card.Β  Now here is where you might be confused.Β  The image is a pre colored digital image.Β  Actually, everything, including the black “chalkboard” are all digital images.

I printed the “chalkboard” with a white border around it, then added my “frame”.Β  The black is actually much blacker in hand, not so white and the colors pop more than I was able to get in my photo:(Β  But, you can see the shimmer on the left side of my foil paper;)

FMS Final 209-001Yep, here’s where I got my inspiration;)

aSDC18022But I made two cards! πŸ™‚Β  This card will be entered into the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #209. This is what I did with the center of my “frame”.Β  The same info applies to this card, all digital! πŸ˜‰Β  Now if you’ve never made a digital card, please don’t think it’s an easy way out!Β  Even with this simple design, I had tons of problems! 😦  I tried to print both on one piece of paper, but the program said I had used too much memory, so I deleted one whole card!Β  Still wouldn’t print, and it wouldn’t save either!!Β  I had to close the program and start all over!Β  How frustrating!Β  Then it would only let me do one card image, so I had to print one, and then flip the paper over and print again!

I don’t give up that easily!Β  It did let me save the last one so I can make more if I would like to:)Β  Maybe with added snowflakes, but I’ll have to stamp them because the program wouldn’t let me do that either! Modern conveniences to help make our lives easier, right?! lol

_____________________________________________________

This next section is my tribute to the mother of one of my friends and fellow cardmakers.Β  My friend, Jill Blasche, who has sent many cards for SAS4Kids, sent in a large box which included a good number of cards from her mother, Helen Matrisciani.Β  I emailed Jill when the cards arrived and she told me her mother had a fall and was in the hospital:(

I kept in touch with Jill over the next few days, and her mother had come home and seemed to be getting better.Β  Then I didn’t hear anything for a few days, and I was worried.Β  I sent a message to Jill and found out her mother had passed:(Β  I don’t know all the details and it doesn’t really matter. Someone I cared about had lost her mother, I was so incredibly sad! 😦  It’s difficult to know what to say or do:(Β  How do you help?Β  All I could do was pray for my friend and her family.

I lost my mother only a year and a half ago, I understand how hard it is! 😦  Jill lived very near her mother, they did lots of things together!  Jill wanted me to express how much she treasured her time doing things with her mother! They loved making cards together and would share ideas back and forth.  Jill said that her mother gave her her love of art and crafts:) Jill said her mother was a very giving person, and I believe it! Helen was 93 years young when she passed.  I believe she will be missed by many, and remembered with love!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALooking at Helen’s cards, I can see where Jill gets her talent for using the same images or paper and making the cards very different!Β  The paper on the ghost card is the same as the skeleton only turned sideways.Β  And look at the two skeletons, both are very different cards using a very similar image.Β  Jill was a little embarrassed that I had said she uses the same paper, but actually, I am very impressed!Β  It’s a talent to use the same images or papers and make your cards look different!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother example, lots of similar images, but different papers and layouts! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANot too scary:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these fun?!Β  Helen truly sent cards for all ages! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love these Halloween pumpkins, lots of color!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are the last four cards I’m sharing.Β  Helen sent in an incredible 78 cards! πŸ™‚Β  I love this orange hats floating in the air and the cards on the right are bright and shiny with lots of glitter glue that won’t come off! πŸ™‚Β  What an amazing group of cards and they have already been shipped out to my hospitals, I know they will be loved by our kids!

It’s truly not what we take with us, it’s what we leave behind.Β  Loving children with handed down gifts and memories to last forever! πŸ™‚

Hugs and prayers, Jill!
