Freshly Made Sketches #311 & guests

Hello! 🙂  It seems like I never have time to make cards myself anymore 😦  But I made one today, plus I have guest cards to share, I hope you’re ready! 🙂

My card will be submitted at Freshly Made Sketches #311 I will also post it on the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog 🙂  I’m thinking this card would be good for a teen 😉  Here’s this weeks sketch:

FMS Final 311-001

Here’s my card:

I thought it was a little hard to see, so I took the photo again with a green background.

aDSC01518

It’s hard to tell about the silver accents in either photo I think 😦

Well, on to my guest donors 🙂  First I have Deborah Caldwell of MI 🙂

Thanks Debbie for these great Christmas cards! 🙂  I love to get cards early for a holiday! 🙂  Some of our kids need to mail their cards and I like to have plenty of time for them to get where they need to go 🙂

Next I have Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂  Janelle sent her cards in Oct. so I have some Fall and some early Christmas to share 🙂

Thank you Janelle for the great cards and the early Christmas! 🙂

Now I want to share some cards from Trish Cudney of MN 🙂  Trish sent in Winter cards! 🙂  Winter cards are really important, Christmas isn’t the only thing going on during Dec., Jan., and Feb.

Lots of Thinking of You, and “no sentiment” cards, these can be used for anything in the Winter! 🙂  Really cute examples of layouts and look at those same images with different layouts and papers, you know I love those! 🙂  Also, don’t be afraid to send up to 10 of the same card.  I have 4 hospitals now and can divide them up 🙂

Thank you Trish for sending some early Christmas cards! 🙂 Trish shared that the papers she used were 6×6 pads from Echo Park, “A Perfect Winter” and Carta Bella, “Cabin Fever”.

I appreciate you all and the wonderful cards you send for our kids! 🙂  I can’t imagine our kids without holiday and general cards, I don’t even want to 😦  It must be so exciting to receive a card while in the hospital! 🙂  You are the ones spreading those smiles, be proud! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today and looking at the great cards that donors share! 🙂  If you are part of our group, I’m so glad you’re here! 🙂  If you just come by for inspiration, I hope you found some! 🙂  I appreciate every one of you!! 🙂

Please take a few minutes and check out both of the blogs linked above for more card ideas! 🙂  Hope to see you again soon! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #308 & SAS4Kids

OMGoodness, it’s been too long again! 😦  I thought when school started it would calm down here……not so much 😉  But, I made a card!  Big laugh for those of you who send in cards for my hospitals!   Yes, I made one card! lol  And I’m going to enter that card at Freshly Made Sketches #308.  Here’s their sketch 🙂

FMS Final 308-001

Those of you who know me, know that I stick pretty close to the sketch, so here’s my card:

aDSC01409

Everything on this card is Stampin’ Up!  Almost everything is from the new Holiday catalog that you can see here on my page, upper right.  The sentiment is from an older set, but still Stampin’ Up!  I used the new Christmas Quilt Stamp set, Quilt Builder Framelits Dies, Quilted Christmas 6×6 Designer Series Paper, Stitched Felt Embellishments and the Quilt Top Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.

Quite a mouthful, but I can hardly wait to use it for other occasions than Christmas!  Also used is Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green Cardstock, and one of the sheets from the Designer paper stack.  I hope you like it 🙂

Now, on to my guests! 🙂  First I have Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂

Thank you Janelle for these great Halloween cards and I love the Dinos! 🙂

Next, I have Andrea La Vigne of TX, who has a blog of her own that you can see here 🙂

Ok, the last one on the right, is because I just thought they were so darn cute! 🙂  Not for Halloween, just because 😉  Thank you Andrea for these wonderful cards, these are sure to please! 🙂

Last is Lillian Abrams from MI 🙂  Lillian says she has a friend who colored a lot of the cards and then she put them together, great job ladies! 🙂  Now this is a set up to get you in the mood for……..Christmas! 🙂

Thank you Lillian and your friend for these wonderful cards! 🙂  Look at all the girls cards, we need some boy cards 😉  Boy images are so hard to find 😦  Although I’m sure they would like Santa and the snowmen! 🙂

Thank you ladies for all your effort and dedication! 🙂  You make the world kids live in a better place! 🙂

Thank you all for coming to visit today, I hope you found some inspiration, and had some fun! 🙂  I appreciate every one of you, even if you don’t make cards! 🙂

I hope to see you again! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #306 & SAS4Kids

It’s the first day of Fall here in the Midwest and it hit 93 today!  I love Fall, but that’s a tad hot for me!  I hope it’s nicer where you are! 🙂  Today I have some cards of my own.  These cards are made for younger kids and are very simple!  I’m not kidding about this! 🙂  I wanted to share these cards because they are simple for one, and for two it gives an example of what I mean when I say “everyday sentiments with Fall themes”.

My first card is for Freshly Made Sketches #306.  Here is their sketch:

FMS Final 306-001

2aDSC01294

If you’ve been here before, you know I stick pretty close to the sketch 😉  I used an ESTY digital image and a sentiment by TLC.  All the papers are Stampin’ Up!  This card I made thinking of teen girls.  Life is tough for teens and being in the hospital is really tough!  Notice the Fall leaves embossing folder, the Fall leaves strip and the Fall colors 🙂

Next I have a card made for the challenge at our own Send A Smile 4 Kids blog, Fall colors for kids.

aDSC01255

All of the cards I’m showing next are mine.  I have weird signatures and watermarks going on 😦  My Print Shop program decided to stop working and I had to do the best I could on my own, not a pretty sight, sorry 😦  But please pay attention to the sentiments and the “Fall themes”.

On the cowardly lion, the one on the left says “Have Courage”, the one on the right has a medal and says “You did it”.

I notice the sizes are all wonky too, I don’t know why, sorry again 😦

Next time I’ll be back with more cards from my SAS4Kids donors! 🙂  Cards are starting to come in for Fall and Halloween, I hope you’re getting excited, because I am! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you enjoyed my cards, even though they are very simple and intended mostly for younger kids 😉  I hope to make some more teen cards soon 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #304 & SAS4Kids

Thanks for coming back to visit, I’m excited to be here today! 🙂  It’s been a long week with my 3 year old granddaughter visiting with her brother 6.  They don’t get along very well, so there’s been a lot of arguing 😦  Grandchildren are so strange, they just don’t get that grandma has enough love for all of them!

So here’s what is going on today, believe it or not, I actually asked for another granddaughter to visit and keep the 3 year old busy, so as I’m trying to write this blog, I have three kids running around and hubby has gone to work some overtime!  I know, glutton for punishment! 😉

I have a card to share and I also have a bunch of cards from donors to share, so I hope you have time to stick around! 🙂

First, I have a card that I will share with Freshly Made Sketches #304. Then I will also share it over on the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog.  You can also make a card and share with either or both of these challenges! 🙂  Here is the sketch for this week:

FMS Final 304-001

And here is my card:

aDSC01178

For this card I used all Stampin’ Up! products.  Everything is in the new holiday catalog that you can find on this page, top right.  You can contact me if you would like to order anything 🙂  The background paper is the only thing that is retired, it’s Motley Monsters.

DSC01181

The word paper, the cat and the hat all come from the new Spooky Night paper.

DSC01180

The stamp set, Spooky Cat, comes in a bundle with the cat punch.  I cut the cat out of the paper with the punch.  I cut a strip of the worded paper, and then I fussy cut one of the hats out of the paper. I used a Stampin’ Up! punch to cut my So Saffron moon and then one of the Layering Circle Framelits to cut the back circle.  This card was a lot of fun to make, and I’m hoping one of our SAS4K children will love it! 🙂  Here’s a look at the set:

20170614_Holiday17_en-US-page53

Ok, enough about me, now on to my guests! 🙂

First up is Donna Wakefield from IN 🙂

Thanks Donna for these great cards!  I’m sure the kids will enjoy them and have lots of fun showing them off! 🙂  Donna has also used a number of Stampin’ Up! products 🙂  I know for sure I will be using that cute scarecrow! 🙂

Next is Barbara Roe of CA 🙂

Ok, the first two are holiday cards, but I love them so much I have to share! 🙂  I also love the turkey, same image, two totally different cards! 🙂

I love when the same papers or images are used to create different cards! 😉

Thank you Barbara, I love your papers and images, these will be loved throughout the season or even longer! 🙂

Lastly I have Lisa Simokaitis who lives not too far from me here in IL 🙂  Look closely at Lisa’s cards, these are one of the best uses of stickers, 3D stickers, and 3D embellishments I’ve ever seen! 🙂

Thank you Lisa, these are wonderful cards for Halloween and Thanksgiving! 🙂  I don’t often get a lot of Thanksgiving cards so these are a real treat 🙂

Thank you all of my team donors, you’ve all done a wonderful job of expressing yourselves for our kids! 🙂  I don’t think I can ever thank you enough for all your hard work and dedication! 🙂  It may seem small in the light of current events, but you are making a difference in a child’s life, be proud! 🙂

Thank you to any and all of you who have taken the time to look through my post! 🙂  You’re welcome to join us on our mission or just pass through and get inspiration! 🙂  If you have time, take a look at the Freshly Made Sketches blog, and also the SAS4Kids blog! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #295 & Guests

It’s been busy around here but I found time to make a card! 🙂  I’m glad you could join us for some inspiration! 🙂  I’m back with another card for Freshly Made Sketchs #295.  Here is their sketch for this week.

FMS Final 295-001

Here is my card for this week 🙂

aDSC00827

Yes, another card for the kids we serve at Send A Smile 4 Kids 🙂  I used an adorable pre-colored digi from Fred She Said called “Emma in the Leaves Coloured“.  You can also get it uncolored in the section named Autumn.  I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry.  I also used the Stampin’ Up! Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  Included in the set are circles, squares and ovals.  I do have some buttons shaped like leaves, but couldn’t find them, so I used some foiled leave that I found in my stash 🙂

I like having Seasonal cards with different sentiments for the kids.  There’s more going on in every Season besides a holiday or Birthday! 😉  You can add encouraging words, general sentiments, as well as Happy Fall, Happy Halloween,Merry Christmas, etc.

I have guest cards today to share, I know everyone likes to see what everyone else is making! 🙂  First I have Jill Blasche of TX 🙂  Jill makes and sends in lots of cards! 🙂

Thank you Jill for this wide variety of wonderful cards! 🙂  Jill sent multiples of most of these cards! 🙂  A lot of cards for our Peds ICU!

Next I have Vicki Luebke of IN 🙂  Vicki also sends lots of cards and specializes in sending Encouragement cards! 🙂  Not sure what to send as an Encouragement card?  Look at some of these sentiments 🙂

The little boy with the frog is also Fred She Said, it’s called “Nolan & The Bullfrog“.  Thank you Vicki for these great cards for our boys and girls! 🙂

Lastly I have cards from Dr. Robin Hayworth of NY 🙂  Robyn has sent many cards 🙂

Robin doesn’t just send to me, I’ve seen thank yous on our gratitude page.  Robin is sending to several of our volunteers! 🙂  Thank you Robin for your dedication to our kids, with your beautiful cards! 🙂

Lots of variety today for just about everyone! 🙂  I’d like to thank, not just these three ladies, but all of my donors for their wonderful cards and their inspiration to me! 🙂

For the Send A Smile blog post, please visit here 🙂

If you come by just to visit, I’m thankful for your interest! 🙂  It’s easy to be a donor if you’d like to give it a try, please visit here, and then check out our other links at the top of the page 🙂

Thank you all for coming by! 🙂  I hope to see you again soon! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #292, SAS4Kids

Welcome back! 🙂  I’ve been making cards again! 🙂  I love all the sunshine we’ve been getting, it makes me so happy! 🙂  It also gives me a lot of energy! 🙂  My grandson has been allowing me to make some cards by being really good! 🙂

I made and will enter into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #292, a fun Summer card, I hope you like it! 🙂  Here’s the sketch:

FMS Final 292-001

aDSC00737

This is where I found this digital image on Etsy. Prettygrafikdesign.

I used Stampin’ Up! papers, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzaz, and a retired DSP.  Isn’t he so cute! ?  Reminded me of my grandson:)  That’s not the only cute card I made, here are a few more:

Some of my images and papers are also from Clipartland, also on Etsy. I had lots of fun making these simple layouts with the cute images! 🙂  I also used more cardstock from Stampin’ Up!, Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, and Pacific Point.  The printed papers came from Etsy on one of the sites already given above.

I don’t think we have enough African American images on our cards 😦  I was thrilled to find some cute ones on Etsy! 🙂  Although I have to say, it’s disappointing to just find “white” kids colored “brown”.  At least these images have ethnic hair.

I’m having trouble finding teen boy or girl images, if anyone knows a source, please let me know!  A lot of our “kids” are teens.

I haven’t gotten a lot of Summer cards, that’s one of the reasons I decided to make some.  I made quite a few of these cards 😉  I did just this Saturday get a package from Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂  Here are some of her cards:

On the left are two cards.  On the right is the inside of the blue “hat” card.  Not a great photo, but I believe you can tell one of the balloons is popping out 🙂

Janelle let me keep one of the jellyfish cards for my grandson, she is so sweet! 🙂  He loves jellyfish and put this card in a place of honor so he can see it every day! 🙂

I love all of these cards, fun and colorful, sure to bring smiles to lots of faces! 🙂  Thank you so much Janelle for sending them in! 🙂

I hope everyone is enjoying their Summer so far! 🙂  I want to thank everyone who makes and sends in cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂  Be sure to check out our blog! 🙂  The current challenge is “For the boys“, and I will also post my card there 🙂  You can join the fun too! 🙂

Thank you all for coming by! 🙂  I appreciate your interest, even if you don’t send in cards! 🙂  I hope you all have found some inspiration! 🙂  Hope to see you all again soon! 🙂

SAS4Kids Anything goes for kids

Hi everyone, I have a very short post today.  I wanted to share some cards I’ve made and a couple of sites I use for clipart and background papers 🙂  I have some cards that I’ve made over the last 4 days, I don’t know how I got so many done, except that they have pretty simple layouts and they all use digital art 🙂

My first card I will enter into our own SAS4Kids challenge, which is currently “Anything goes for kids”.  I didn’t receive very many Summer cards, so I decided to make some 🙂  I decided what girls love right now are Mermaids and Unicorns, so I made some Mermaids first 🙂

a705

How cute is this little mermaid?!  I found it on Etsy, who knew right? 🙂  The vendor didn’t have any matching papers so I found another site that seemed to match.  But guess what?  I asked the vendor if she could supply matching papers and she said “yes”!  I paid extra for them, but guess what?!   She’s having a SALE, $1.00 per set! 🙂  The Sale is until June 11th, but she said she will have another sale, a different one, after that! 🙂

No she didn’t supply me with any images for free, but she has tons of them, great for kids! 🙂  You can check her out on Etsy here, it’s called clipartland 🙂  These are digital images and papers, that I printed out on my personal printer.  Here are some more cards.

Very simple cards, but I think kids will love them 🙂  I added some Stickles to the “pearls”.  Of course it’s hard to tell here.  All of the cards are flat, except the first one I showed.  For that one I used some special foam.  It’s pretty thin, thinner than a pop-up.  I cut it out with the oval die I used for the image and then just glued it on the back.  I think you can tell in the photo that it’s not flat 🙂

Lawrence wasn’t a lot of help on these cards 😦  He did say he thought a “girl” might like the ones that had crowns. lol  Maybe he’ll like the next cards I make better 😉

I’d also like to share another shop where I get digital images, Fred She Said Designs.  I didn’t make a card to show, but I’ve made plenty of them and you can search with the bar on the left.  Tracy just put up a bunch of beautiful butterflies, but she has lots of images to choose from, she also has some cut files 🙂  You can also check out her blog here.

One last site that you may like for digital images is called Dollar Graphics Depot 🙂  They have some new language about “sharables” on the home page.  I was confused so I asked for clarification.  The response said we are free to use any of the images in the store to make cards to sell or give away, but you can’t give away or sell the digital files to others.

If you’ve never used digital images, you do need to set up folders on your computer to store the files.  I also use Print Shop to change the size of my images and print them.

If you have questions, you can leave them here or send me an email 🙂  I hope you enjoyed my post today and you’ll come back again! 🙂  I’ll be preparing more donor cards to showcase 🙂
