Freshly Made Sketches #289 and SAS4Kids

I’m back, today I have guest cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids, and a card for Freshly Made Sketches #289.  So off we go with the sketch for Freshly Made 🙂

FMS Final 289-001

Here is my card:

a675

For this card I used some images from Fred She Said’s store called Daisies & LadyBugs.  Right now she has brand new butterflies! 🙂  There are lots of options in her sets.  Here I used a cloud background in JPG format.  The flower and ladybugs are PNGs.  The JPG format has a white background, the PNGs have a clear background so you can layer your images.

I fussy cut the flower including the ladybugs and left it hang over the left side and bottom of the cloud background I cut in a square.  I think this will make a really cute card for one of our kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids 🙂

Now we have Father’s Day cards sent in by our SAS4Kids donors! 🙂  First I have Diane Herniman from Canada 🙂

The insides and the backs of Diane’s cards are always decorated too!  Thank you Diane for your continued support of our kids in the hospital ! 🙂

Now some cards from Brenda Zellner of WI 🙂  Brenda has done an awesome job of taking the same images and making them look different! 🙂

Oh, my, I see I’ve done it again 😦  My hands are getting shaky and my eyes are not as good as they used to be, I can see in some of my photos today, that they are a little   blurry 😦  I look at every one of these when I put the names on them, apparently my eyes are getting bad enough that I don’t see the blurry ones until I post them here 😦  I’m so sorry, please forgive me.  I’m going to have to dig out my tripod 😦

Thank you Brenda for these wonderful Father’s Day cards! 🙂  I love how you used the same image more than once! 🙂

On to Tammy Gullett of IA 🙂

Tammy sent in multiples of her cards as well using the same images but different backgrounds 🙂  Thank you Tammy, I’m so glad you were able to make some cards! 🙂  Please take care of yourself! 🙂

Donna Wakefield is next, she has a blog, but I don’t have the address right now.  When she sends it to me I’ll come back and add it 🙂

Thank you Donna for these great cards for kids to share with their dads! 🙂  Thanks for taking my challenge of sending at least 10 cards! 🙂

Lastly I have Jill Blasche of TX, and her card making friend, Jan Kloss, also of TX 🙂  I don’t know how far they live apart, but they get together and make cards for our kids, what could be more fun ? 🙂

Jill Blasche

Ok, now I know these cards were not blurry on the preview page, but the last two are blurry here 😦  Try clicking on the blurry images.  The plane cards are beautiful, I’d like for you to really see them!

Jan Kloss

Jan sent multiples of each of these cards 🙂  Thank you Jill and Jan for the wonderful cards! 🙂  I’m so glad you can get together, have fun and share what you make with our kids! 🙂

I want to thank all of “my” card makers for continuing to support such a good cause! 🙂  Even though I make fewer cards now, I really enjoy receiving boxes and sorting your cards into boxes for my hospitals! 🙂  You are all so talented and generous, the world is a better place because of you! 🙂

If you’re just stopping by for some inspiration, I hope you found something that you might be able make! 🙂  There is plenty of inspiration here for next year as well ! 🙂

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend ! 🙂  Please remember those who have fought and fallen to preserve our way of life!

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #286 and Guests

Well, this is fast for me, twice in one week! 🙂  I have some cards to share and then I have cards from donors to share! 🙂  First I have a card I will be entering in the Freshly Made Sketches #286 challenge 🙂  Here’s the sketch 🙂

FMS Final 286-001

aaaDSC00546

Ok, it’s really close to the sketch, and I like it, but I made two more! lol  Yep, my grandson was being really good and he let me play for a while! 🙂  Here’s the second one I made :

aaDSC00548

The first two cards are considered “no embellishment” cards.  Everything is flat and glued down.  Nothing extra that could be pulled off 😉

Now here’s the third card I made, a little different.

aaDSC00550

This one is technically not “no embellishment”.  I popped up the shark with dimentionals, it could be pulled off.  I used Avery Elle stamps and dies 🙂 I used Copics to color, only because I happen to have 3 markers, two greys and one purple. lol

One of our donors sent in some cards a while ago with the Avery Elle sharks.   I knew I wanted to use it for some teen cards! 🙂  Here are her cards for your inspiration! 🙂

aDSC00547

Now, since I’ve already mailed out our Mother’s Day cards, here are some Father’s Day cards that I’ve already received 🙂  Vicki Luebke of IN is first, she’s sent in small groups of cards three times! 🙂

Thank you Vicki for these great Father’s Day cards, there seems to be one for almost every type of dad! 🙂

Here’s a few from Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂

Thank you Janelle, I love how different your cards are! 🙂  Love all the different Tee Shirts! 🙂

And lastly, here are a few from Debbie Caldwell of MI 🙂

The last four could be used for teen boys or Father’s Day, whatever might be needed more 🙂  Thank you Debbie for these great cards, I don’t have anything like it so far! 🙂

Thank you ladies for sending these cards early, I like to be prepared as early as I can 🙂  You never know what might happen around here to put me behind! 😉

Thank you card makers for your efforts for our kids, I know the kids will love to share these cards with their dads! 🙂  There is plenty of inspiration here for Father’s Day cards, lots of different ideas! 🙂    Please don’t think I have all I need!  There are plenty more dads that will still need cards!  Don’t forget I have three hospitals! 🙂

Don’t like making Father’s Day cards?  Make some masculine cards, they can be used for Father’s Day 😉  Masculine cards hard to make?  Be sure to check out my categories for more Father’s Day caed ideas.  Pinterest has some nice cards, also SplitCoastStampers! 🙂  A lot of people have trouble making masculine cards, you’re not alone!  Use other people’s sketches, take their idea and change it up with different papers or colors, make it your own! 🙂

Made it last year?  Not to worry, I’m hoping that we’ve had a turnover on kids being in the hospitals, so old ideas are new again for new kids! 😉  You can also take last years idea and make it look different! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate your interest in our cause! 🙂  If you’re stopping by just to get inspiration, we’re glad to have you too! 🙂  I hope you all will come again! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids with donor cards

I’m back, I’m so sorry I’ve been gone so long!  Today I have a card I made with the SAS4Kids blog challenge in mind 🙂  The challenge ending May 5th is, Punches and/or Die Cuts.

5-1-2017

This card is actually for one of my granddaughters.  She just turned 12 and is very picky about her cards.  I did use a punch, and a die cut.  Her favorite color is red, at least for now 😉  She was very happy to get a “grown-up” card 🙂  She may feel differently next year, I guess we’ll see. lol

Now for some great cards from our SAS4Kids donors! 🙂  First up is Holly Blaskie of MI.

I love these cards, they are great examples of making different cards using almost the same supplies! 🙂  Thank you Holly for these beautiful cards, that either boys or girls will love to share with their moms! 🙂

Next is Tammy Gullett of IA 🙂

I love Tammy’s cards too! 🙂  Similar products with different outcomes 🙂  Now I know both of these ladies have other supplies, they have both been donating a long time! 🙂  So it’s not that they don’t have other supplies to use 😉  This is a great way to make cards that look different so everyone doesn’t get the same card 🙂

It’s also great for kids because they are often picky, they might pick one card over another to share because of the color or image, you just never know!  I could send all of these cards to the same hospital and everyone would feel they have a different card! 🙂 Plus, I have three hospitals, even making multiples of the same card would reach different patients, and in this case, moms! 🙂

It’s great for card makers, you have all your supplies out, cutting different colors, using different inks or papers, makes it easy for you to supply more cards with less effort 🙂  We want your card making to be fun! 🙂

Thank you Tammy for continuing to share your wonderful cards! 🙂

Next I have Lee Mae Elkins of WA 🙂  Lee Mae actually makes almost all different cards, she makes very few multiples, that’s just the way she rolls! 🙂  Of course, this is fine with us as well, whatever you have time to do and what makes you happy, makes us and our kids happy! 🙂

Thank you Lee Mae, for these beautiful cards! 🙂

All the cards shared today, on my last few posts and those that were went in but not pictured here, have all been sent! 🙂  My husband and I took them to the Post Office today! 🙂  Thanks to everyone who has donated for Mother’s Day,  I sent over 300 cards for the kids to share with their moms for Mother’s Day! 🙂

If you’ve come by just to check out the cards shared, I hope you’ve enjoyed the wonderful gifts made to share with the kids at my three hospitals! 🙂

I appreciate everyone who makes and sends cards for our kids! 🙂  I appreciate everyone who stops by and visits my blog, and thank you to all who join our challenge over at SAS4Kids! 🙂

I hope you’ll come back again to see the amazing cards, even the cards that I make 😉

Merry Monday #218 & SAS4Kids

I know, it’s Thursday and in the middle of the day, but I finally got a card done and wanted to post it! 🙂   Maybe I can even make another card and have two cards this week!  I can always dream! lol

I have a card for Merry Monday the #218 challenge! 🙂  I will also submit it to the current challenge over at Send A Smile 4 Kids ! 🙂  Here is the challenge over at Merry Monday 🙂

218

1asdc11475

I love plaid so I had fun making this card! 🙂  I used Wink of Stella on the roof and chimney for the snow, it looks really pretty 🙂  The card wouldn’t stay flat for me to take the photo, so it’s looks a little lopsided.  The circle is actually sized correctly.

The paper on the left is from Stampin’ Up!, Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper.  I also cut the little cottage out of another sheet of paper from the same series.  I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red, and Early Espresso card stock.  The plaid paper came from an Etsy store.

I used a Stampin’ Up! matching stamp set called Candy Cane Christmas for the sentiment and the little mint candies.  The current holiday catalog runs until Jan. 3, 2017, but may run short close to the end.  You can contact me to purchase Stampin’ Up! products 🙂

Do I have guest cards today?  Of course I do! 🙂  First up is Ann Williams of TX 🙂

Thank you Ann for these wonderful Halloween cards! 🙂

Next is Nanci Simmons of FL 🙂

Thank you Nanci, great non-scary cards for our kids! 🙂

Next up is Janelle Klapperich of SD 🙂

Thank you Janelle for the Halloween and the great Fall cards as well ! 🙂

One more set of cards for today from Debbie Eassy of PA 🙂

Thank you Debbie, wonderful cards for the kids to enjoy! 🙂

I’d like to thank all of my card donors, what awesome cards for all of our kids! 🙂  I’m pleased to see so many of you using Stampin’ Up! products! 🙂  It’s so much fun for me to see new examples of Stampin’ Up! cards! 🙂  I am so thankful to have all of you on “my” team! 🙂

Even if you don’t donate cards, I still appreciate you coming by and seeing all the wonderful examples of cards we have to share! 🙂

Be sure to stop by Merry Monday and our own challenge at SAS4Kids! 🙂  I still have some Halloween and Fall to share and then it will be on to Christmas! 🙂  I love Christmas cards, I think they’re my favorites……maybe 😉  lol  I actually love all handmade cards! 🙂

Thank you for stopping by today, I hope you can come by again soon! 🙂

Doodle Pantry & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’ve been sick for a few days, and I’m afraid it may get worse, before it gets better 😦  Probably just a cold, I don’t understand how they can make you feel so miserable! 😦

I have the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog near the top on the right side of my page! 🙂  You can order now if you’re interested, I’d be happy to be your Demonstrator! 🙂

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginnings of Fall ! 🙂  I love Fall and I have a number of cards to share with you today! 🙂

First is my card for the Doodle Pantry sponsorship of Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂  I will enter it in both blogs 🙂

asdc11212

Hmmm, it looks blurry here, but if you click to enlarge, it looks just fine 🙂 I used some misc. paper on the right, a couple stickers on the left, and an digital image by one of our sponsors, Doodle Pantry! 🙂  To make the card, I used Thinlits-Circle Card die (retired) by Stampin’ Up!  It’s so easy to make this cute card ! 🙂

Now for some fun SAS4Kids donor cards! 🙂  First I want to show some cards from my friend,  Jill Blasche of TX 🙂  She has made some great examples of Fall themed cards that aren’t Halloween.  She also has sent in some cards made for two of my hospitals and then changed them up just a little, so they can go to my hospital with no embellishments 🙂

Ok, the orange one looks kind of Halloween, but it doesn’t have to be 😉  Both cards are made two ways.  On the orange card, it’s made with googly eyes on the left, and on the right, it has just card stock eyes.  On the leaf card, on the right, you can see she used some string and a button.  On the left there is a paper button and just a strip of card stock in brown.  All of the cards are great and with minimal effort, changed into a card with no embellishments!

Again, the black card could be Halloween, but it has a general sentiment.  The black card on the left has ribbon, and the one on the right has card stock that looks like a ribbon 🙂  The pumpkin card has a nice Fall theme, with a general sentiment.  the one on the right has ribbon and three gems.  The one on the right has green card stock and three punched holes to represent gems, very clever 🙂

Two more that look like Halloween, but have general sentiments, and two more that are very Fall looking 🙂

Four general cards included in the box, I love the birds! 🙂  Thank you Jill for all these wonderful cards! 🙂

Next I have cards from Diane Herniman from ON, Canada 🙂  Diane makes wonderful cards with flowers from her garden and her dog, birds, and other live or flying things in her yard!

This is the front and inside of one of Diane’s cards.

On the left is the front and back of the card, and on the right is the inside 🙂

All card fronts, gorgeous photos! 🙂

On the left are two fronts and on the right is the envelope and card front 🙂  Thank you Diane for your beautiful cards! 🙂

Next is Yara Baird from WA,and she has a blog you can visit HERE.  Yara may have sent to other volunteers at SAS4Kids, but she is new to me 🙂 Yara has sent in a wide variety in her box! 🙂

Summer all the way to New Year! 🙂  Thank you Yara for your wonderful cards! I know the kids will enjoy these cards! 🙂

I know, it’s a long blog, but I’ve been gone a while 😉  One last donor, and that is Vicki Luebke of IN 🙂  Vicki sends in a lot of cards, she is really good with encouragement cards! 🙂

Great cards, Vicki, wonderful selection! 🙂  Thank you Vicki for your continued support of our kids! 🙂

All of the card makers on my team are talented and generous!! 🙂  I couldn’t do my job without all of you! 🙂

It’s taken me two days to finish this or more, I can’t remember, I hate being sick! 😦

I want to thank all of my cardmakers and everyone who has stopped by today for some inspiration! 🙂  I hope to be back soon with a brain that’s not filled with oatmeal!

Freshly Made Sketches #242 & SAS4Kids

Summer has been hard!   With all the grandkids home and lots of medical and other appointments, I’ve had less time to spend crafting! 😦   Well, today, I found time to make one card! lol  Yes, one! lol   But, I have lots of cards sent in for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share!

First my card, I will enter it in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #242 and also at the challenge for Send A Smile 4 Kids 🙂

OMGoodness, I love this new set from Stampin’ Up!, it’s called Best Birds 🙂  You can also get a die set to go with it! 🙂  I have to say, I love dies!  I cut a piece of magnet sheet and tape it (with very strong tape) to the back of my stamp box and they all stay right where I need them!  The stamps fit right on top of the dies 🙂

Everything on this card is from Stampin’ Up! unless noted! 🙂  I used a retired embossing folder with clouds for the background.  The So Saffron sun was die cut.  The bird is Marina Mist, and the branch is Pear Pizzazz.  The little thank you stamp is from Wishes Your Way (retired).

I had a lot of fun making this card, until I got Memento black ink fingerprints on it! 😦   It was so bad, I had to make a second one!  How disappointing! 😦  This card will be going into a box for one of my SAS4Kids hospitals 🙂  I’m a little short of Thank You cards right now, so I’m going to try and make more 🙂

I know you’re all waiting for more card inspiration and I  have a bunch for you! 🙂  First I have Judy Martin from PA 🙂  Judy is a repeat sender, thank you Judy! 🙂

Wonderful selection of cards, Judy! 🙂  I love all the fun Summer and water cards! 🙂  It was so much fun to add these to the boxes I just sent out!  Thank you Judy for being on my team! 🙂

Next is Lisa Simokaitis from IL 🙂  I love getting cards from my home state! 🙂

Great cards Lisa! I love all the animals, I know the kids will too, thank you! 🙂

Karen Peterson from NE is next 🙂  Karen makes a lot of her cards from kits and they’re wonderful! 🙂

Beautiful 3D flowers, Karen! 🙂  These cards are shiny and have gold accents 🙂  Thank you Karen! 🙂

Last for tonight is Lillian Abrams of MI 🙂  Lillian has a blog you can visit here 🙂

The last two cards are 6×6, aren’t they adorable! ?  I love all these cards Lillian! These are all fun and colorful, just perfect for kids! 🙂  Thank you so much! 🙂

That’s all I have for today, I hope you all have enjoyed looking at these great inspirations! 🙂   Please use all my links and check out all the sites mentioned! 🙂

Thank you to all my card makers who make it possible for me to send cards through Send A Smile 4 Kids to my 3 hospitals in IL! 🙂  I couldn’t do this without you!! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! 🙂  I hope to see you all again soon! 🙂

aSDC10593ab

I wanted to use my new Foxy Friends from Stampin’ Up!, but two people had already entered Foxy Friends.  I went with my second choice, Best Birds from Stampin’ Up! This set is awesome!  It comes with two bird stamps and 5 bird dies!  I colored it with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.  I used a sponge dauber to add the color:)

As will most of my cards, this one will go in a box with SAS4Kids cards to go to my hospitals 🙂 I know it looks simple, but it’s granddaughter approved 🙂  I love all the colors!

Ok, now on to my guest cards for today! 🙂  First up is Debbie Caldwell of MI 🙂

Thank you Debbie for a great selection! 🙂  There are cards for boys and girls, young and older! 🙂  At this time, I have the only SAS4Kids religious hospital, there is even a card for them! 🙂  You are so thoughtful, thanks! 🙂

Next is Donna Wakefield of IN 🙂  Donna is a repeat sender 🙂

Really nice cards, Donna, thank you! 🙂  Also cards for different ages 🙂  I love how Donna used the same boat image in different ways! 🙂

Next is Holly Blaskie of MI 🙂  Holly is also a repeat sender 🙂

Holly picked some great designs and sent multiples of each 🙂  Thank you Holly for your great cards! 🙂

Next is Lee Mae Elkins of WA 🙂  I truly get cards from all over the US! 🙂  Lee Mae has also sent cards before 🙂

More great cards with something for everyone! 🙂  Thank you Lee Mae, the kids will love sharing these with their dads! 🙂

My last guest for today is Ann Williams of TN 🙂  Ann has also sent cards before, I have a great team of card makers! 🙂

Thank you Ann, for the fun and colorful cards! 🙂  The kids will love these, and I’m sure their dads will too! 🙂

All the card makers I have shown the past few weeks have really come through with great cards for dads! 🙂  I appreciate all the crafting you do for our kids and I know the kids do too! 🙂  You all have amazing skills, and I’m so happy you use those skills to share your cards with us! 🙂

I will be showing general cards all throughout the Summer 🙂  Take it easy on yourselves and enjoy your Summer! 🙂  I’m going to use everything I have on hand and then let you know what I need the most of 🙂  You are all the best team I could ever ask for, Thank you all! 🙂

It’s never too early for Fall, Halloween and dare I say, Christmas cards! lol

I hope to be back soon with more cards to share for your pleasure and inspiration! 🙂  Thank you all for coming by today! 🙂
