SAS4Kids #187 cards 4 boys

I can hardly believe it’s been a month since I was last here!  I had planned on at least one more post in February, but I was sick 😦  Thankfully I’m much better now, just in time for the monthly SAS4kids post! 🙂

I’m glad you’re here and hope you enjoy the inspiration I have to share with you today 🙂  My card is a “boy” card, I know a lot of you have trouble with boy cards, I do too.  But this card actually came together pretty quickly 🙂

My Project

This card is using Stampin’ Up! stamp set Enjoy Life, all the images are silhouettes.  The sentiment is also from the set.  For the background I used a free image from Fred She Said Designs. Go here and scroll down below the bride, you will see I asked for this stand alone background, and Tracey graciously supplied it for free! 🙂  I resized it on my Print Shop program and I think it works great for this card! 🙂  It’s so easy to put together, I think I will make some cards for all of my hospitals! 🙂

I received some cards from a brand new (to me) donor 🙂  Her name is Jaydee and to visit her blog you can go here, Stampin! with Jaydee.  Jaydee sent about 240 cards!  It was almost impossible to decide what to share!  Some of the cards were duplicates, but there were plenty of cards for me to choose from! 🙂

OMGoodness, thank you so much Jaydee! 🙂  There are so many more, please visit her blog above the cards 🙂  These cards will be shared with 4 different hospitals in IL & IN! 🙂

While I’ve been sick, I received a several more boxes that haven’t been gone through yet as I didn’t want to touch the cards while I had germs!  I will be sharing more cards from other donors soon! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest in Send A Smile 4 Kids and the inspiration our donors share with our kids! 🙂

I am a Stampin’ Up! Demo, so I do receive monies from products I sell.  I do not receive any compensation for any products I showcase on my blog from anyone.

SAS4Kids- Easter

Welcome back! 🙂  I had intended to post another blog entry this month, and the month just flew by too fast, sorry 😦  But here I am, and today, I have a card to share for kids with Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

I saw a card on Pinterest with these eggs by PaperTrey Ink and I thought they were adorable! 🙂  The green paper is Stampin’ Up! and the Happy Easter die is from Memory Box.  It was fun to put together with Stampin’ Up! inks 🙂

I have a couple of guests cards today 🙂  Please enjoy the Winter cards made by Trish Cudney of MN, where it’s still Winter as well as in IL!

Here are two cards showing what I mean by Seasonal, everyday cards 🙂  Happy Birthday and a miss you card.  Nice winter themes and paper, but with everyday sentiments 🙂

I love blue Winter cards, it’s my favorite color! 🙂  You can click on them to make them larger.  Winter themes with no sentiment can be used for any occasion! 🙂

Thank you Trish for these wonderful cards! 🙂  The kids will still be able to enjoy them during the deep freeze here in IL&IN! 🙂

Now I have some more Easter cards, this time from Vicki Luebke of IN 🙂

Thank you Vicki, for these super fun, colorful and cheerful cards! 🙂

I would like to thank all of my donors for their continued support of our SAS4K, kids! 🙂  You help bring cheer to our kids all year long, and I know they will have large smiles on their faces when receiving these cards and all the cards sent in so far this year! 🙂

If you’re not a donor, that’s fine with us, we hope you enjoy our inspiration and hope you might join us at some point! 🙂

Thank you all for stopping by, I’m thankful for your interest! 🙂  I really do plan on having another post around the 15th of the month 🙂  If you sign up to follow me, you’ll receive my post in your email 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids Valentines

Yes, SAS4Kids has been off for the month December.  I meant to come on anyway and show some cards, but you know how that goes during the holidays 😉

Going forward with the SAS4Kids challenge blog, it’s been decided that there will be only one challenge posted on the first Saturday of each month.  That will give people a whole month to join in the challenge! 🙂

SAS4Kids will continue to do our “work” of sending or delivering cards to Children’s Hospitals! 🙂  We still have awesome volunteers ready to accept your cards for the kids! 🙂

I will still try to post twice a month, or maybe 3 times, depends on what’s going on 😉  I haven’t been receiving as many cards as in previous years, I hope we aren’t wearing you out! 😦

I have a Valentine card for you today 🙂  I’ve been trying to make more “boy” cards 🙂  I never seem to get enough “boy” cards 😦  So here is what I made for Valentine’s Day 🙂

This card is on Stampin’ Up! Real Red, with Basic Black, and I used my Stampin’ Up! dies to cut the image.  The image is from Etsy, at a store called TeaBreakArt. I found it listed under SVG files, but it also comes with a PNG image that’s great for cards 🙂  The white heart paper came from my stash, could be Stampin’ Up! but it would be discontinued, sorry 😦  I hope a boy will enjoy this card, but I guess girls might like it too 😉

Here are some cards from Sandra Borsheim of MN 🙂  I may have shown the next three shares on our FB page, but it’s all I’ve gotten so far.

Some cards from Ruby Haugen of MN 🙂

And finally, some cards from Donna Wakefield of IN 🙂

Thank you ladies for sharing your wonderful cards with us and our kids! 🙂  You are all so generous and talented! 🙂

This may seem like a lot of Valentine cards, but I assure you, I will need more! 😉  I have 4 hospitals and they all receive Valentine cards 🙂

Thank you all for stopping by, I appreciate your interest whether you make cards for SAS4Kids or you just come for some inspiration! 🙂  I hope to be back soon with more cards 🙂  If you follow my blog, you will get an update whenever I post one 🙂

I wish you all a very Happy New Year!! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge #183

Welcome to another post featuring Christmas and Winter cards! 🙂  I’ve been so busy, I almost forgot to do this post!  This post will be kinda long, so I hope you’re all ready! 🙂

Christmas is an exciting time of year for our kids in hospitals!  Well, it’s exciting for us getting ready to ship them cards!  I know that I love to get cards to share with the kids and see what our generous donors have made to bring smiles to kids faces! 🙂

My husband came home from work late and let me know that it’s snowing outside, as I’m sure it is in many parts of the USA!  So here is my card to share to get things going:

It’s a Winter Birthday card! 🙂  I heard that some people don’t quite understand what “every day cards with Christmas, Winter themes” actually means.  Here is a great example, well, I think so anyway 😉

I used a 6×6 paper pad by Echo Park, called Celebrate Winter.  What fun colors and images they have in this paper pad! 🙂  And it’s a Birthday card! 🙂  I know you shouldn’t start a sentence with “and”,  sorry 😉

I used Stampin’ Up! Basic Black cardstock and sentiment.  I’m not sure which set it came out of because it’s in my “favorites” box that I use all the time.  Both papers came from the same paper pad, and there are other fun papers as well 🙂  No I don’t get paid to promote Echo Park, I just love their paper pads, and they work well with Stampin’ Up! cardstock! 🙂

Next I have some great cards from repeat donor, Lee Mae Elkins from WA.  I know you’ll enjoy her cards! 🙂  Click on them to see their sentiments 😉  Here are some Christmas/Winter Birthdays!

Every day cards with Christmas/Winter themes 🙂

Here are a couple of Blank/no sentiment, Christmas cards 🙂

Some Merry Christmas for those of you missing the “official” Christmas cards 😉

And finally, some “other than Merry Christmas” cards 🙂

Thank you Lee Mae for giving everyone something to love! 🙂  Great examples of almost every kind of Winter/Christmas card! 🙂

I’d like to thank all of my donors for their efforts this year to bring happy smiles to kids faces! 🙂

Thank you for stopping by! 🙂  I hope we’ve given you some inspiration to get through the holiday card making season! 🙂  I hope you’ll come join us again for more cards! 🙂

Please stop by Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog to see more cards, or enter your own! 🙂

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! 🙂

Personal share with a senior center

Hi Ladies 🙂  Some of you know that I have a personal card share with a senior center.  For those of you who don’t know, it is in no way part of Send A Smile 4 Kids!  This is personal in honor of my mother who has passed.  My Mother lived in the same town since I was born, more than 50 years!  My siblings and I all grew up there.  My brother still lives in the same house.

My mother really enjoyed the senior center after my father passed.  She made many friends, went on trips, and enjoyed many other activities 🙂  After she passed a few years ago, I decided to do something nice for the seniors that attend there now, in honor of my mother 🙂  Since I am a card maker, I make cards for the seniors to send to their family and friends 🙂

I’ve decided to share some of these cards with you so you can see how I make cards that are flat for mailing 🙂  You can send me cards for “my” seniors, but, of course, you don’t “have” to.  This is not part of SAS4Kids!

These cards are as “flat” as can be made.  The Post Office loves to add on postage, but I don’t want the seniors to have to do that 🙂  They do not have glitter, buttons, brads, bows, large gems or anything that might make them bulky.  You can use layers, without pop-ups 😉

The cards I send are some of the same sentiments as SAS4Kids:

Winter, Christmas, Valentines, Spring, Easter, Patriotic, Summer, Fall, Thanksgiving, Get Well, Sympathy, Miss You, Hi/Hello, Thinking of you, or Birthday.  All cards are blank.

I’m sorry for such a long explanation 😦  Here are some samples I made this week:

I love how the first card came out! 🙂  It’s a layout I use a lot, but it’s so pretty with the pinks and gold.  I used a paper pad from Michaels, Recollections,” Sugarblush.”  It has pink Santa’s that I’m using for the kids 🙂  I used two gold cardstock papers that I bought at Micheals in the individual section. I also used Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo, and their new snowflakes that are available from Nov. 1st to Nov. 30th only.  I can help you order them if you don’t have a demo 🙂  I also used all Stampin’ Up! punches and dies.  The sentiments were printed on my computer.

Next I have the masculine cards I made:)

This card is the same layout as the first pink one above.  I think it still needs something, a snowflake?  Suggestions?

For these three cards I used a paper pad from Carta Bella called, “Let It Snow”.  For these three cards I used general sentiments.  Any “theme” paper can be made into a general sentiment card. This last card is a great example of using Fall paper and making it into one of the sentiments we use all the time 🙂  It could just as easily say Hi/Hello, Smile, Happy Birthday, or any other sentiment you have 🙂

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the cards I made! 🙂  I will be back again on Nov. 3rd with a card post for Send A Smile 4 Kids, I hope you will come back! 🙂

Thank you to anyone already sending cards for “my seniors”! 🙂

SAS4Kids with Fall or Holiday Wishes

Hello everyone! 🙂  What a beautiful day it is here where I live, lots of sunshine! 🙂  I have a short post for you today.  I haven’t been getting very many cards yet, so I have a few I’ve made 🙂  They’re general sentiments with a Fall and Winter themes 🙂

First, here is my card for today’s Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge 🙂

For my card, I used Stampin’ Up! cardstock, the pumpkin paper is from Carta Bella, Hello Fall.  The pumpkin image is from Etsy, I added the “Happy Birthday” with a digital file.  The pumpkin embossing folder is from Cuttlebug, and I used a Stampin’ Up! die to cut out the Happy Birthday pumpkin 🙂

I love this card, a great example of Fall theme with a general sentiment! 🙂  I have a couple more for you 🙂

This card info is below, except I used Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock on this one.

For both of these cards I used Echo Park, Celebrate Winter 🙂  All of my paper pads are 6×6, I think the graphics are just the right size for cards 🙂  Although I did buy the 12×12 solid paper pack.

I love the sentiments on both of these cards!  You may be surprised where I got the Celebrate Winter sentiment.

I cut it off the bottom of one of the solid 12×12 sheets, it runs across the bottom of the card stock!  I’ve probably seen it before, but it never occurred to me, that I could use it as a sentiment!   I don’t usually get the solid paper packs because Stampin’ Up! has such great colors, they match almost everything! 🙂  I did use Stampin’ Up! Real Red for behind the sentiment 😉

I hope you enjoyed my cards 🙂  Hopefully I’ll start getting some Winter and Christmas cards in so I can share them with you! 🙂

Thank you to everyone who donates cards to our cause, Send A Smile 4 Kids, we couldn’t do this without you! 🙂

If you’re just stopping by, I hope you’ve gotten some inspiration from my cards today 🙂  The holidays aren’t the only thing going on in any given month!  Kids still need general cards to fill in 🙂  I’ll be having more Winter and Christmas cards to share soon, I hope you’ll come back! 🙂

Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge #180

Hello visitors! 🙂  I’m so happy to be here for the SAS4Kids Celebration Cards 4 Kids Challenge #180! 🙂  I’m posting my card and you can go to our blog to see the other cards made for the challenge, and you can join in too! 🙂  Here is my card:

I was thinking boy, Winter, Birthday 🙂  I used a Birthday die from Stampin’ Up!, and all Stampin’ Up! cardstock.  The printed paper is from a stack by Carta Bella, called Cabin Fever, I love this paper stack.  If you can’t find the paper anymore, you can get it digital from Snap Click Supply.  I used the digital 6×6 paper #1&2.  I have a nice Cannon printer and I used Matte, photo paper.

This post will be a little long, I have two guests to share their cards! 🙂  First is Brenda Zellner 🙂

Most of Brenda’s cards are Winter cards, but there are some Christmas included as well 🙂  Thank you Brenda for these wonderful cards, they are perfect for our kids! 🙂

Next I have cards from Paula Kysilka 🙂  Paula lives in FL but truly understands Winter, and Christmas from a lot of other states! 🙂

Thank you Paula, these are also wonderful cards that our kids will love! 🙂  Thank you both for sharing your talents! 🙂

Lots of these cards have general sentiments, and very few actual “Merry Christmas” cards.  I’ve been asked to send more cards that have Non-“Merry Christmas” sentiments, such as “Happy Holidays”, “Seasons Greetings”, and such.  I know it’s a sign of the times we live in, but it makes me sad just the same 😦

I want to thank all of my donors who can “go with the flow” and adjust to whatever our hospitals ask for! 🙂

Thank you all for stopping by! 🙂  I hope you’ll come back again and maybe join our challenge! 🙂  You don’t have to make cards to enjoy our wonderful card makers efforts! 🙂

I hope you all can celebrate the holiday season whatever way makes you happy! 🙂
