Happy New 2020…a little late

Hello all, thanks for coming by! πŸ™‚Β  I have 3 grandchildren staying with me, and a bum left knee, but, I’m going to try and keep up better!Β  I am so thankful for anyone who still has my posts saved to show up when I post! πŸ™‚

Today I have some Valentine cards from Debbie Caldwell, one of my Send A Smile 4 Kids donors πŸ™‚

My granddaughter just loves these cards! πŸ™‚Β  She thought the paper was so cute, that she begged me to buy it so she and I can make cards for her school! πŸ™‚

Thank you Debbie for these wonderful cards, I know the kids at our hospitals are going to love them! πŸ™‚

Thank you everyone for stopping by! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you’ll continue to check in and see what is going on πŸ™‚Β  I’m hoping to become more regular with my posts πŸ™‚

I can’t go to my basement right now and craft because of my knee, but I have lots of cards upstairs to share with you all and my hospitals! πŸ™‚

Send A Smile 4 Kids Valentines

Yes, SAS4Kids has been off for the month December.Β  I meant to come on anyway and show some cards, but you know how that goes during the holidays πŸ˜‰

Going forward with the SAS4Kids challenge blog, it’s been decided that there will be only one challenge posted on the first Saturday of each month.Β  That will give people a whole month to join in the challenge! πŸ™‚

SAS4Kids will continue to do our “work” of sending or delivering cards to Children’s Hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  We still have awesome volunteers ready to accept your cards for the kids! πŸ™‚

I will still try to post twice a month, or maybe 3 times, depends on what’s going on πŸ˜‰Β  I haven’t been receiving as many cards as in previous years, I hope we aren’t wearing you out! 😦

I have a Valentine card for you today πŸ™‚Β  I’ve been trying to make more “boy” cards πŸ™‚Β  I never seem to get enough “boy” cards 😦  So here is what I made for Valentine’s Day πŸ™‚

This card is on Stampin’ Up! Real Red, with Basic Black, and I used my Stampin’ Up! dies to cut the image.Β  The image is from Etsy, at a store called TeaBreakArt. I found it listed under SVG files, but it also comes with a PNG image that’s great for cards πŸ™‚Β  The white heart paper came from my stash, could be Stampin’ Up! but it would be discontinued, sorry 😦  I hope a boy will enjoy this card, but I guess girls might like it too πŸ˜‰

Here are some cards from Sandra Borsheim of MN πŸ™‚Β  I may have shown the next three shares on our FB page, but it’s all I’ve gotten so far.

Some cards from Ruby Haugen of MN πŸ™‚

And finally, some cards from Donna Wakefield of IN πŸ™‚

Thank you ladies for sharing your wonderful cards with us and our kids! πŸ™‚Β  You are all so generous and talented! πŸ™‚

This may seem like a lot of Valentine cards, but I assure you, I will need more! πŸ˜‰Β  I have 4 hospitals and they all receive Valentine cards πŸ™‚

Thank you all for stopping by, I appreciate your interest whether you make cards for SAS4Kids or you just come for some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to be back soon with more cards πŸ™‚Β  If you follow my blog, you will get an update whenever I post one πŸ™‚

I wish you all a very Happy New Year!! πŸ™‚

Merry Monday #191, Valentines, SAS4Kids

I think this is going to be a long post loaded with card photos today! πŸ™‚Β  I’m starting this Sat. night, we’ll see if I get done before Sunday;) lol

First, I have the card I made for Merry Monday #191.Β  Actually, I made three, everyone kept coming by my desk and saying “try it this way”.Β  Good grandma that I am, I agreed:)Β  Here’s their challenge this week:)

The one on the left, is the one I wanted, until I made it and then the snow seemed too big:(Β  The one on the right, my younger granddaughter wanted with the bunny:)

This is the one my older granddaughter wanted me to make.Β  I really like her idea so this is the one I’m going to enter in the challenge:)Β  I used some digital images from three different artists on Etsy.Β  For the base, I used Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist:)

Now, because Sunday is Valentine’s Day, all of my guests have sent in Valentine’s for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share! πŸ™‚Β  My first guest is Sandy Borsheim of MN.Β  Sandy has sent in cards a number of times:)

I think by now, everyone knows my fondness for cards that are the same, but different;)Β  Same images, different papers:)

My next guest has also sent cards a number of times, Brenda Zellner of WI:)

I don’t know where Brenda gets her images, but they’re very cute! πŸ™‚

All of my guests today have sent in more cards than I’m showing!Β  I’m choosing samples from a number of card makers to make sure more of our Valentine’s get shown, before I start Easter:)

So we’re on to Deborah Caldwell of MI:)

All of the cute animals holding hearts are from Doodle Pantry, they’re from a set called With Heart.

Here’s another animal from With Heart, and the basket of hearts is from Spring TrimmingsπŸ™‚

One last set from With Heart. Not only did Deborah send Valentine’s, she sent some misc. cards and some Easter that I’ll show soon:)

Cyndie Reis of CA is my next guest, she sent 5 cards, but they’re all great!Β  Here are the two Valentine’s she sent:)

These are so darn cute, I love them both! πŸ™‚

My last guest for today is Lee Mae Elkins of WA:)Β  Lee Mae has only sent me cards a few times, but they’re always nice:)

I don’t know where Lee Mae gets her images either, but they sure are cute! πŸ™‚

Lee Mae has cards for boys and girls:)

I hope you got a ton of ideas from all these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you ladies, all of you, for sharing your time and talents with our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate every single one of my card makers!Β  It doesn’t mater to me if you send 5 cards or 100, you are an important part of what we do at SAS4Kids, thank you! πŸ™‚

I want to thank everyone who’s stopped by to enjoy all of these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you come again!Β  I don’t have very many Easter cards yet, but I’ll be sharing what I do have and I have lots of misc. cards to share if I run out of Easter! πŸ™‚

Stop by Merry Monday and the SAS4Kids challenge blog, lots more to see! πŸ™‚

The Friday Mashup #242, Valentines

Hmmm, I was hoping that when I came back, so would the “old” way to add a post.Β  No such luck:(Β  I’m forging ahead with the “new” way to add a blog post, so I hope it goes faster than last time:)

Welcome back! πŸ™‚ I have another card and I have a guest as well:)Β  So first off, I have my card that I made for the Friday Mashup #242.

The Mashup Challenge this week is:
  • Create a project for your Valentine.
  • Create a project featuring a Candy image.
  • or Mash it Up!! and create a V-day Candy themed project

I didn’t take this photo straight on so it looks a little strange, at least to me;)Β  Everything is actually straight and even:)Β  I made this card with Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge (retired), Rose Red & Blushing Bride ink, and a stamp that I know is Stampin’ Up!, but I’m not sure of the set.

The main image is from Fred She Said called Valentine’s Day-Better than Chocolate.Β  Behind the heart, I used Baked Brown Sugar, and the background cardstock is Blushing Bride, both by Stampin’ Up!Β  A little different from me, but I love the finished card! πŸ™‚

My guest today is a repeat sender, Vicki Luebke of IN:)Β  Vicki sent a few Valentine’s in this box, but mostly she sent Winter themed cards:)Β  Because I made a card with Fred She Said today, I’m going to show you her Winter cards because she also used a lot of Fred She Said images:)

All of the Fred She Said images are listing in the shop under Christmas, here is the main link:)

Aren’t these cute?!Β  I love when the same image is used in different ways!Β  This is called Emma the Skating Elf.Β  I also love that she used 4 of the 6 colors available in the set! πŸ™‚

On the left is Emma the Snow Angel.Β  This was a special request by me for Tracey the shop owner, wasn’t that sweet of her?!Β  I love it! πŸ™‚Β  On the right is Catchin’ Flakes, this one reminds me of my brother when he was small:)

The image on the left is Hat Tipping Snowman, and the one on the right is Winter Westie.Β  Most of these sets also come with the plain digi that you can color yourself:)Β  Vicki has done a great job with her designs! Even though the snowmen have the same layout, they look very different:)Β  All of these cards are great! Even if they went to kids in the same hospital on the same unit, each child would feel they have a special card!

I have a lot of FSS images!Β  I think this is the first image I bought, and it’s still my favorite, this is Emma the Hugger! I, myself, have used this image many times, it just makes me happy! πŸ™‚

I have a few more from Vicki I’d like to share:)

Vicki does an excellent job of making encouraging cards, and they’re so cute! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these adorable?!Β  I believe all these images are from Dollar Graphics Depot.Β  All of their images are only one dollar!Β  I love Vicki’s clean and simple designs! πŸ™‚

These are the last images for Vicki today.Β  Both of these images are rubber stamps from Stampin’ Up! (retired).Β  Thank you Vicki for sharing your talents with our kids!Β  All of these cards will be donated to hospitals through Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Thank you to Vicki and all card makers who make and send cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, even if you don’t send cards, I hope you’ve gotten some inspiration for your own cards! πŸ™‚Β  Hope to see you again soon! πŸ™‚

The Friday Mashup #241 & SAS4kids

Once again, I’ve gotten behind:(Β  Once of my card makers challenged me to make a card and post it before the weekend is up.Β  Okay, she said it wasn’t a real challenge, but it got me up and motivated:)

I have a very simple card this week.Β  I have a unit on one of my hospitals for small kids, so this is what I made for the challenge over at the Friday Mashup #241πŸ™‚Β  This card, of course, is for one of my Send A Smile 4 Kids hospitals! πŸ™‚

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:Β
  • Create a project featuring a Monkey or Zoo Animals.
  • or Create a project with a Fancy Folds.
  • or Mash it up! and create a Fancy Folded Project with a Monkey.

The image on this card came from Doodle Pantry, and is simply called, Funky Sock Monkey. I think this is a great card for small kids, a large cute image and very little that could fall off! πŸ™‚

I blog with WordPress, it seems I can no longer add my blogs posts the way I used to:(Β  I have to use their new & improved method:(Β  I guess I’m an old fuddy duddy, because I’m not too fond of changes, especially when I’m made it do it! 😦  So my posts are going to look a little different….maybe even strange, until I get used to this new version.Β  I hope it doesn’t look too different;)

Now on to my guest for today, Donna Wakefield! πŸ™‚Β  Donna is from IN, and has donated quite a few times:)Β  I have some Valentines of hers to share, but first, I want to show you these awesome Star Wars cards she made! πŸ™‚

You’ll have to use some imagination, because the photos do not do them justice!Β  These cards have lots of sparkle and shine! πŸ™‚Β  The cards on the left has silver stars, and the card on the right has silver words, the top right is a black square with lots of silver sparkle, with a silver star, and the blue paper on the left side of the right card is one that when you tip it around, it changes, really pretty! πŸ™‚

The card on the left has white background paper, but all the design is silver.Β  The Star Wars words are silver and it has some more of the black with silver.Β  The card on the right has the same things going on:)

I hate to admit, the only Star Wars movie I’ve ever seen was the first one.Β  Yes, I’m that old! lol These cards have more sparkle and the card on the right has blue paper that is actually darker than it appears and the words are all blue foil! πŸ™‚

Donna also sent in some Valentines:)Β  I guess I need to keep my comments down or this post will be a mile long:(

Ah, ha, I learned something new!!Β  I’m hoping you can click on them and make them larger if you want to:)Β  Donna made some Star Wars Valentines!Β  Aren’t they cute?!Β  I think the kids are going to love them! πŸ™‚

Ha, learned something else new!Β  Boy this is taking me forever to write!Β  I’m sure I’ll get better with practice! πŸ™‚

These are all cute Valentines by Donna and I know the kids will love them! They are probably at the hospitals waiting to be handed out! πŸ™‚Β  Or they may have already been handed out, that is totally up to the hospitals to decide how they are distributed:)Β  I want to thank Donna for the wide selection of cards, she did a great job! πŸ™‚

I don’t mind multiples of the same card as I have three hospitals and I’m sure a number of different floors to be spread around:)

I want to thank all of my card makers, without you, none of this would be possible! πŸ™‚Β  You can come here for inspiration or you can join in the fun of sending cards to children’s hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  Just visit our web site to get more information SAS4Kids.

Thank you all for coming by to visit, I hope you come again! πŸ™‚Β  You can also visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see what others are making:)

Doodle Pantry, Send A Smile 4 Kids, Valentines

It was a rough two weeks with the 4 grandkids home from school!Β  But we all survived and now it’s back to work for me, minus the distractions;)Β  lol

I have one card today, it’s a Valentine for two different challenges:)Β  The first is our own SAS4Kids challenge blog where it’s Valentines or Love Cards 4 Kids!

The second,Β  ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 13, is sponsoring the current challenge at SAS4Kids! So here’s my card:

1aSDC18793A nice simply made card:) For the main image I used the Doodle Pantry set, With Heart.Β  The brown paper is digital paper from the set.Β  I printed it on Canon Matte Photo Paper, it’s thick, almost like cardstock.Β  I printed it and waited for a little while, and then embossed it with a folder from Stampin’ up! called, Happy Heart.

Then after embossing, I used a paper nail file to just lift off the tops of some of the hearts leaving white exposed.Β  From Stampin’ Up! I also used their Hearts Border punch, Real Red cardstock and a stamp that I don’t remember what set it came out of.Β  The stamp was used out of a set and not returned properly:( Β  My goal was to make a card that could be used by either a boy or girl;)

Now, on to a guest! πŸ™‚Β  I’m featuring Ruby Haugen from MN today:)Β  Ruby sent in two boxes of cards separately.Β  One box is all Winter themed cards, and the second box is Valentines! πŸ™‚Β  I really want to share the Winter themed cards because they’re all my favorite color, blue! πŸ™‚ so lets see what Ruby has sent in for our kids at SAS4Kids! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOoooh, I love blue, especially blue snow, I don’t know why:)Β  Ruby colors her images with colored pencils.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are all just great!Β  I love the papers, and layouts! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t think Ruby sent any copies, I believe she sent all one of a kinds:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese last two are a little bit teal colored, still in the blue family, love them! πŸ™‚Β  These are all great examples of Winter cards!Β  But you could also add Happy Birthday to some of these cards, or thinking of you.Β  Ruby put a lot of love in these cards and it shows! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Ruby! πŸ™‚

I’m going to save Ruby’s Valentines until my next post.Β  I’ve been trying to do this during the hours the kids aren’t sleeping, big mistake:(

Thanks for coming by today, be sure and check out the blogs that I’ve linked! πŸ™‚Β  Also please check out the two new Stampin’ Up! catalogs near the top on the right:)Β  There’s is a big sale going on! πŸ™‚

Please come visit again soon! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches 172 & SAS4Kids

Hi everyone! πŸ™‚Β  I’m on a little early today, the kids are all in a bedroom listening to music and coloring:)Β  I should have at least 15 minutes of quiet;)Β  Today I have another card for Send A Smile 4 Kids:)Β  I’m going to enter it in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches 172.Β  Here’s their sketch for this week:

FMS Final 172-001Here’s my card:

Doodle Pantry1a

I think this card could also be a Valentine, but I’ve made it for Mother’s Day.Β  I’m hoping someΒ  little boy will want to send this to his mom:) The image is from Doodle Pantry and is called, Lil Gorilla Jungle. I used a Cuttlebug embossing folder, added some typed words onto a heart that came with the Gorilla set, and used some heart paper that I printed some time ago and found in my stash.

I use Print Shop 23.1 for almost all of my digital work.Β  I’m just so used to it, I’ve had it for years! The version of Gorilla I used was pre-colored, but the set also has an uncolored version that you can choose how to color yourself:)Β  I know I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, and I think Smoky Slate behind the Gorilla.Β  The Gorilla is popped up a little with extra layers of cardstock, also the heart.

I’m off to eat dinner, yep, my 15 minutes is up! lolΒ  I must feed the little monsters:)

Thanks for stopping by today, I’m always glad to have visitors! πŸ™‚Β  See you soon:)

Doodle Pantry Valentines

Well, everyone survived the flu, but now we all have colds!Β  Bummer:(Β Β  I was sick this weekend, but I got up and made some cards, because tomorrow, Jan. 20th, there will be some new images over at Doodle Pantry, and a sale!

I got to use some of the brand new images to make some cards to show you how cute they are! πŸ™‚ I don’t even know what the set will be called yet, but you’ll know these images when you see them;)Β  And then tomorrow, I’ll be posting two more cards!Β  I want to make at least 2 more after that because they will all be going to Send A Smile 4 Kids! Doodle Pantry sponsors at SAS4K quite often and you could win some free digis:)

Click here to learn about SAS4K:Β  A blog dedicated to collecting and distributing handmade cards to children who are inpatient at Children’s Hospitals. Please send us your handmade kids’ cards for holidays, birthdays, and everyday cheer. Help us put a smile on our kids’ faces!

I’m working with the pre-colored digital images, but the sets almost always have images you can color yourself.Β  Ok, enough talking, on to my cards:)

Doodle Pantry Val 1c

Doodle Pantry Val 1dAren’t these adorable?!Β  Hmmm, what do you call “boy” Valentines, probably not adorable? lolΒ  Well, I think they’re adorable!Β  The truck was a special request I made, and then Laurie surprised me and made a whole set for boys! πŸ™‚Β  How awesome is that?!

I did a little resizing and some punching.Β  Please feel free to ask if you have questions, I’m happy to share! πŸ™‚ I’m off to make two more cards while it’s quiet and before I fall asleep.

Thanks for stopping by today, I appreciate all my followers and everyone that happens to drop by! πŸ™‚

More Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’ve been feeling kinda depressed lately:(Β Β  I made myself sit down and make 3 more cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  It helps to think of other people when I get overwhelmed.Β  I sat for about 3 hours under my special light that simulates sunlight, that helps too.Β  So if Winter is getting you down, take a seat and make some cards.Β  Don’t forget to turn on some upbeat, happy music:)

I wasn’t feeling terribly creative, I hope the kids will still be happy with what I’ve made.Β  I used all pre-colored, digital images from Doodle Pantry. Laurie’s images are so cute and cheerful, I love to work with them! πŸ™‚Β  I do not get any compensation, or free images from Doodle Pantry, I just love their images! πŸ™‚Β  And a lot of you know that I’m coloring challenged! lol

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAIt’s not that I don’t think my cards are cute, I just used very similar layouts for most of my cards this week.Β  I think the beaver would be nice for a boy, I tried to not make it too cutsie.Β  Both of the papers for the beaver card, come with the kit.Β  Hmmm, I’m really having a hard time concentrating:(Β  I used two different sets today, one is With Heart, a portion of theΒ  proceeds from this set willΒ  be donated to Operation Write Home.Β  The little beaver comes from the set, Loving Critters.Β  Trust me, you can spend days looking at everything in the Doodle Pantry store!Β  You can also color most of the images yourself as well.

Well, I’m off to bed, I will be up early with all the grandchildren;)Β  Thank you for stopping by today, I do appreciate all my followers and anyone who happens to drop in! πŸ™‚Β  Life is short, make it matter:)
