Send A Smile 4 Kids & guests June 2018

OMGoodness, I can’t believe I haven’t been here since March, I’m so sorry!!Β  There is never a dull moment around here!!Β  School is out for the Summer and my grandson is home with me all day πŸ™‚Β  He turned 7 in May, and he asks lots of questions! lolΒ  I also have four of my granddaughters right down the street, and I had my grandson’s half sister here for 5 weeks, from the end of March.Β  Okay, I remember, I didn’t get much done while she was here, she just turned 4 in April! lol

I joined the design team at Send A Smile 4 kids, and I will attempt to post a blog twice a month.Β  I’ll try really hard, honest πŸ™‚Β  I have a card I made for this weeks challenge at SAS4Kids, and I’ll show you in case you missed it πŸ™‚Β  You can also go other there and check out the other cards! πŸ™‚Β  Here’s my card:

For this card, I used a paper package by the loose paper at Michaels.Β  It was intended for scrapbooking, but I cut the papers all down and made a number of cards, some you may see later πŸ˜‰ I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red for my base and banner.Β  I used a stamp from my stash, the printed paper and the stickers came in the package.Β  I really like how it came out, I think it will be great for a teen or pre-teen.Β  I’m thinking boy, but who knows πŸ™‚ I guess there are more female super heroes now, but I can only think of two at the moment.

Okay, on we go, I have two guests for you today, the first guest is Barbara Suits of CO.Β  Barbara makes awesome shaped cards!Β  Barbara does not claim that she designed any of these cards, she just made them for our kids πŸ™‚

Thank you Barbara for sharing your talents with us! πŸ™‚Β  I know our kids will enjoy every one of these cards! πŸ™‚

Next I have a donor who sent cards about a year ago and I didn’t hear from her for a while.Β  Here are the newest cards sent to me for our kids from Paula Kysilka of FL πŸ™‚

Thank youΒ Paula, your cards are wonderful and I’m sure the kids will enjoy the insides as well as the outsides! πŸ™‚

There have been some changes on my blog site since the last time I posted and it seems I can’t post as many cards as I used to 😦   Please know that I love and appreciate all the cards I receive for our kids, I just don’t have room for them all!

I’d like to thank all of my card donors for the love and care they put into the cards they make for our kids! πŸ™‚Β  Without you we would have very little to share! πŸ™‚

If anyone would like to be a volunteer or a donor, please let us know on our FB page, Send A Smile 4 Kids-USA, or our contact page at SAS4Kids πŸ™‚

Thank you all for coming by today whether you are part of our group or just searching for inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate your interest whoever you are! πŸ™‚Β  Hopefully I’ll be back in two weeks, see you then! πŸ™‚

Doodle Pantry & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’ve been sick for a few days, and I’m afraid it may get worse, before it gets better 😦  Probably just a cold, I don’t understand how they can make you feel so miserable! 😦

I have the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog near the top on the right side of my page! πŸ™‚Β  You can order now if you’re interested, I’d be happy to be your Demonstrator! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginnings of Fall ! πŸ™‚Β  I love Fall and I have a number of cards to share with you today! πŸ™‚

First is my card for the Doodle Pantry sponsorship of Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  I will enter it in both blogs πŸ™‚

asdc11212

Hmmm, it looks blurry here, but if you click to enlarge, it looks just fine πŸ™‚ I used some misc. paper on the right, a couple stickers on the left, and an digital image by one of our sponsors, Doodle Pantry! πŸ™‚Β  To make the card, I used Thinlits-Circle Card die (retired) by Stampin’ Up!Β  It’s so easy to make this cute card ! πŸ™‚

Now for some fun SAS4Kids donor cards! πŸ™‚Β  First I want to show some cards from my friend,Β  Jill Blasche of TX πŸ™‚Β  She has made some great examples of Fall themed cards that aren’t Halloween.Β  She also has sent in some cards made for two of my hospitals and then changed them up just a little, so they can go to my hospital with no embellishments πŸ™‚

Ok, the orange one looks kind of Halloween, but it doesn’t have to be πŸ˜‰Β  Both cards are made two ways.Β  On the orange card, it’s made with googly eyes on the left, and on the right, it has just card stock eyes.Β  On the leaf card, on the right, you can see she used some string and a button.Β  On the left there is a paper button and just a strip of card stock in brown.Β  All of the cards are great and with minimal effort, changed into a card with no embellishments!

Again, the black card could be Halloween, but it has a general sentiment.Β  The black card on the left has ribbon, and the one on the right has card stock that looks like a ribbon πŸ™‚Β  The pumpkin card has a nice Fall theme, with a general sentiment.Β  the one on the right has ribbon and three gems.Β  The one on the right has green card stock and three punched holes to represent gems, very clever πŸ™‚

Two more that look like Halloween, but have general sentiments, and two more that are very Fall looking πŸ™‚

Four general cards included in the box, I love the birds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for all these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚

Next I have cards from Diane Herniman from ON, Canada πŸ™‚Β  Diane makes wonderful cards with flowers from her garden and her dog, birds, and other live or flying things in her yard!

This is the front and inside of one of Diane’s cards.

On the left is the front and back of the card, and on the right is the inside πŸ™‚

All card fronts, gorgeous photos! πŸ™‚

On the left are two fronts and on the right is the envelope and card front πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for your beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

Next is Yara Baird from WA,and she has a blog you can visit HERE.Β  Yara may have sent to other volunteers at SAS4Kids, but she is new to me πŸ™‚ Yara has sent in a wide variety in her box! πŸ™‚

Summer all the way to New Year! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Yara for your wonderful cards! I know the kids will enjoy these cards! πŸ™‚

I know, it’s a long blog, but I’ve been gone a while πŸ˜‰Β  One last donor, and that is Vicki Luebke of IN πŸ™‚Β  Vicki sends in a lot of cards, she is really good with encouragement cards! πŸ™‚

Great cards, Vicki, wonderful selection! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Vicki for your continued support of our kids! πŸ™‚

All of the card makers on my team are talented and generous!! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t do my job without all of you! πŸ™‚

It’s taken me two days to finish this or more, I can’t remember, I hate being sick! 😦

I want to thank all of my cardmakers and everyone who has stopped by today for some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to be back soon with a brain that’s not filled with oatmeal!

Freshly Made Sketches #242 & SAS4Kids

Summer has been hard!Β Β  With all the grandkids home and lots of medical and other appointments, I’ve had less time to spend crafting! 😦 Β  Well, today, I found time to make one card! lolΒ  Yes, one! lolΒ Β  But, I have lots of cards sent in for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share!

First my card, I will enter it in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #242 and also at the challenge for Send A Smile 4 Kids πŸ™‚

FMS Final 242-001

a2SDC10663

OMGoodness, I love this new set from Stampin’ Up!, it’s called Best Birds πŸ™‚Β  You can also get a die set to go with it! πŸ™‚Β  I have to say, I love dies!Β  I cut a piece of magnet sheet and tape it (with very strong tape) to the back of my stamp box and they all stay right where I need them!Β  The stamps fit right on top of the dies πŸ™‚

Everything on this card is from Stampin’ Up! unless noted! πŸ™‚Β  I used a retired embossing folder with clouds for the background.Β  The So Saffron sun was die cut.Β  The bird is Marina Mist, and the branch is Pear Pizzazz.Β  The little thank you stamp is from Wishes Your Way (retired).

I had a lot of fun making this card, until I got Memento black ink fingerprints on it! 😦   It was so bad, I had to make a second one!Β  How disappointing! 😦  This card will be going into a box for one of my SAS4Kids hospitals πŸ™‚Β  I’m a little short of Thank You cards right now, so I’m going to try and make more πŸ™‚

I know you’re all waiting for more card inspiration and IΒ  have a bunch for you! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Judy Martin from PA πŸ™‚Β  Judy is a repeat sender, thank you Judy! πŸ™‚

Wonderful selection of cards, Judy! πŸ™‚Β  I love all the fun Summer and water cards! πŸ™‚Β  It was so much fun to add these to the boxes I just sent out!Β  Thank you Judy for being on my team! πŸ™‚

Next is Lisa Simokaitis from IL πŸ™‚Β  I love getting cards from my home state! πŸ™‚

Great cards Lisa! I love all the animals, I know the kids will too, thank you! πŸ™‚

Karen Peterson from NE is next πŸ™‚Β  Karen makes a lot of her cards from kits and they’re wonderful! πŸ™‚

Beautiful 3D flowers, Karen! πŸ™‚Β  These cards are shiny and have gold accents πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Karen! πŸ™‚

Last for tonight is Lillian Abrams of MI πŸ™‚Β  Lillian has a blog you can visit here πŸ™‚

The last two cards are 6×6, aren’t they adorable! ?Β  I love all these cards Lillian! These are all fun and colorful, just perfect for kids! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you so much! πŸ™‚

That’s all I have for today, I hope you all have enjoyed looking at these great inspirations! πŸ™‚Β Β  Please use all my links and check out all the sites mentioned! πŸ™‚

Thank you to all my card makers who make it possible for me to send cards through Send A Smile 4 Kids to my 3 hospitals in IL! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t do this without you!! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see you all again soon! πŸ™‚

aSDC10593ab

I wanted to use my new Foxy Friends from Stampin’ Up!, but two people had already entered Foxy Friends.Β  I went with my second choice, Best Birds from Stampin’ Up! This set is awesome!Β  It comes with two bird stamps and 5 bird dies!Β  I colored it with Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, and Tempting Turquoise.Β  I used a sponge dauber to add the color:)

As will most of my cards, this one will go in a box with SAS4Kids cards to go to my hospitals πŸ™‚ I know it looks simple, but it’s granddaughter approved πŸ™‚Β  I love all the colors!

Ok, now on to my guest cards for today! πŸ™‚Β  First up is Debbie Caldwell of MI πŸ™‚

Thank you Debbie for a great selection! πŸ™‚Β  There are cards for boys and girls, young and older! πŸ™‚Β  At this time, I have the only SAS4Kids religious hospital, there is even a card for them! πŸ™‚Β  You are so thoughtful, thanks! πŸ™‚

Next is Holly Blaskie of MI πŸ™‚Β  Holly is also a repeat sender πŸ™‚

Holly picked some great designs and sent multiples of each πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Holly for your great cards! πŸ™‚

Thank you Ann, for the fun and colorful cards! πŸ™‚Β  The kids will love these, and I’m sure their dads will too! πŸ™‚

All the card makers I have shown the past few weeks have really come through with great cards for dads! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate all the crafting you do for our kids and I know the kids do too! πŸ™‚Β  You all have amazing skills, and I’m so happy you use those skills to share your cards with us! πŸ™‚

I will be showing general cards all throughout the Summer πŸ™‚Β  Take it easy on yourselves and enjoy your Summer! πŸ™‚Β  I’m going to use everything I have on hand and then let you know what I need the most of πŸ™‚Β  You are all the best team I could ever ask for, Thank you all! πŸ™‚

It’s never too early for Fall, Halloween and dare I say, Christmas cards! lol

Merry Monday #197, Easter & SAS4Kids

This has been a horrible month for me! 😦  I had Strep Throat, a cold, and now a Sinus infection! 😦  I am not a happy camper:(

What cheers me up is to make cards, sort cards, box cards & send cards!Β  Actually, anything that involves cards makes me smile! πŸ™‚Β  So I’m here to share some Easter cards with you! πŸ™‚

First, my card, is for Merry Monday #197.

197 aaSDC19704

One of my card makers used this embossing folder by Darise, I loved it so much, I had to get it!Β  It folds up at the corners and looks like a photo frame:)Β  Here’s a side view:

aSDC19709

For this card I used the Darise Embossing Folder, I think it’s actually called Photo Frame.I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, White Glimmer Paper, and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.Β  I used a digital image from BellasScrapsnClips on Etsy.Β  One more photo to show you the Wink of Stella:)

bbSDC19710

I put the Wink of Stella on all the snow, I think it looks really pretty! πŸ™‚Β  Next I have some guests with Easter cards! πŸ™‚Β  First up is Cyndie Reis of CA:)Β  Cyndie has sent in cards a couple of times now:)

Aren’t these cute!?Β  The colors, the papers the cutouts, all are so adorable! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you so much Cyndie for finding us and sending cards in! πŸ™‚

Holly Blaskie is a repeat sender from MI:)

Pretty colors and images, the kids will love these! πŸ™‚

I love these papers and colors, so Springy! πŸ™‚Β  I adore this little lamb from Stampin’ Up! so cute for Easter! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Holly, your cards are always wonderful! πŸ™‚

Lastly I have Lee Mae Elkins of WA:)Β  Lee Mae has her own blog that you can visit here, http://boxesofdogs.blogspot.com/

Lee Mae has sent in a wide variety of cards and very few duplicates, where does she find the time?!

Some really great cards for the boys, and the ones on the right, I think would be great for teens:)

Simple layouts, but great papers and images make them special! πŸ™‚

More cute cards! πŸ™‚

These cards are adorable, love the papers and images!

I love all of these cards!Β  The two on the left are so different from the rest! πŸ™‚Β  The two on the right are also so stinkin’ cute!Β  Thank you Lee Mae for sending so many different cards, I know the kids will love all of them! πŸ™‚

Well, I’m exhausted and ready for bed!Β  Maybe I’ll take a nap and get up again, who knows;)Β  Thanks so much for coming by today, I really appreciate your interest! πŸ™‚Β  I’m hoping to get well at some point soon so I can get back to some kind of schedule.Β  I’m sorry if I’m not as cherry as usual:(

I’m wishing all of you a very Happy Easter, I hope you can enjoy it with people you love! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #228 & SAS4Kids

I know I say this all the time, but……I am so far behind!Β  I missed a whole week, I’m so sorry! 😦  I’m going to make up for it by showing you lots of cards! πŸ™‚Β  First, I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #228 πŸ™‚

FMS Final 228-001

aSDC19687

This card is mostly digital, with my main image coming from Raspberry Road Designs πŸ™‚Β  I can’t remember exactly which set it was from, but if you’d like to know just ask:)Β  The blue paper was also in the set, I printed it with the main image on Epson Presentation Paper-MatteΒ  I really like this paper because it’s nice and thick so you can print and cut things and still pop them up if you would like to.Β  The sentiment came from a stamp set that was gifted to me.Β  I think it was Markie’sΒ  Finest Paper, but I won’t swear to that;)Β  I mounted the whole thing onto a white base, because that’s what I usually do:)Β  Quite Simply Made, but I think a kid in the hospital is going to love it when added to a box of Send A Smile 4 Kids cards! πŸ™‚

Now for more SAS4Kids cards, I have a number of guests:)Β  We’ll see how many we can fit in;)Β  First up is Lisa Simokaitis of IL, Lisa is a first time sender to me:)

Lisa sent these really beautiful Easter cards and a number of others:)Β  Thank you Lisa for thinking of our kids, these are beautiful cards for our kids and/or their parents! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! πŸ™‚

Judy Martin is from PA, and has sent cards a few times:)

Judy has done a lot of water coloring on her cards, lovely! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these adorable! ?Β  I’m not sure about the chicks, but the other 3 cards are Lawn Fawn! πŸ™‚Β  I love how she used the pink polka dot cut-out on the green card! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Judy for being on my team! πŸ™‚

Donna Wakefield has sent cards in many times:)Β  Her cards are usually one of a kind, and they’re always great! πŸ™‚Β  Donna has her own blog that you can go visit:)Β  http://designbydonna.blogspot.com/

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Don’t you just love these!?Β  Be sure to check out Donna’s blog to see how she makes her cards!Β  Thank you Donna for always keeping our kids in mind! πŸ™‚

Next is Andrea La Vigne from TX:)Β  Andrea has sent cards in more than a few times, and she also has a blog you can visit! πŸ™‚Β  http://andreaspaperantics.blogspot.com/

Andrea doesn’t send a lot of cards at a time, but what she sends are great cards! πŸ™‚Β Β  Andrea also does a lot of water coloring:)Β  Thank you Andrea for always sending cards for the kids, I know they love your cards! πŸ™‚

Karin Hendrickson is from MO, she also doesn’t send a lot of cards at one time, but she sends pretty often:)

Karin makes these really beautiful cards, I think they’re screen fold cards, but I’m not sure.Β  Beside Easter she sent a number for Mother’s Day, which hopefully I’ll remember to show you at a later time;)Β  I love all the cute images and the flower is just beautiful in hand! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a closer look, isn’t this wonderful! ?Β  She’s sent these in before for other holidays, these must be so much fun for the kids to sit next to their beds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Karin for making such thoughtful, and fun cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

I told you, tons of cards today! πŸ™‚Β  Two more guests!Β  First is Jan Kloss of TX:)Β  Jan is a friend of my friend Jill Blasche:)Β  They like to get together and craft, so you’ll see some of the same papers used by each, but their cards are not the same:)

Jan’s cards are so cute, I actually used some for Easter and some for Spring, she sent multiples of each of these! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jan, I love seeing your cards in Jill’s boxes! πŸ™‚

Jill Blasche is a good friend of mine from TX:)Β  I love getting her cards, she always sends multiples so each of my three hospitals are sure to get some! πŸ™‚

On the left are two of Jill’s examples of how she makes for my “regular” hospitals and for my “no embellishment” hospital.Β  She is so clever, they are pretty much the same, but the “regular” hospitals get ribbon and gems, the “no embellishment hospital doesn’t.Β  Not so hard, if I didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference;)Β  On the right, you can see some of the paper Jan used, but the cards don’t look the same:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I love these two cards! πŸ™‚Β  The one on the left is great for my “no embellishment” hospital and the one on the right is great for my other hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  Same sentiment, but totally different cards! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for always being open to a challenge and thinking of all my kids! πŸ™‚

I hope I didn’t wear you all out today with all the wonderful examples of cards to make for kids, or anyone! πŸ™‚Β  I can’t express how much my card makers mean to me and the kids I serve! πŸ™‚

I want to thank everyone for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope I can come back sooner to share some more great cards with you all! πŸ™‚

Be sure to visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see more cards or to join in! πŸ™‚Β  Tomorrow will start a new challenge, “For the Boys”.

Doodle Pantry #14, SAS4Kids, Guests

It seems I’ve settled into posting once a week, but I’m going to try and post twice a week:)Β  It’s just so darn busy around here!Β  With 7 people in one apartment, we just seem to recycle all the germs! 😦

Anyway, I’m going to enter this card in the challenge at Doodle Pantry, ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 14. Β  Also, at our own, SAS4Kids, Anything Goes 4 Kids Challenge.

aSDC19170

aSDC19176

I actually made this card for my brother’s birthday.Β  My “baby” brother just turned 57, so hard to believe!Β  I like this card so much, I’m going to make more than a couple of them for the kids! πŸ™‚

I used an image from Doodle Pantry, they are one of our sponsors over at our SAS4Kids challenge! πŸ™‚Β  This image is called Sweet Stuff and it’s free with any purchase! πŸ™‚ The stripe paper is also in the kit with other candies and papers:)

I used a number of Stampin’ Up! products and I will list them in this paragraph.Β  Embossing folder Large Polka Dot, cardstock, Real Red & Daffodil Delight, Stamp set A Round Array,Β  with circle punches 1″ round, 7/8″ scallop, and for the inside I used the 1/2″ circle punch for the gumballs, and Smoky Slate ink pad.

The little blue gumball was cut from one of the papers I printed from the DP kit:)

Now on to some guests! πŸ™‚Β  I have quite a collection tonight of mixed cards and some Easter:)Β  My first guest is Robin Hayworth from NY:)Β  Robin is a retired Dr. and her cards are clean & simple! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these cute, I love them all!Β  These are great cards for not only the younger ones but up into the next age group:)Β  Great encouragement cards!

I love all the colors on these, bright and fun! πŸ™‚

Here are some that would be great for the older kids!Β  The flowers look hand painted! πŸ™‚ Thank you Robin for these great cards! πŸ™‚

My next guest is Kayla Ford from IL, my home state:)Β  Kayla is going to knock you out with her colors and papers!

What did I tell you, bright and fun!Β  πŸ™‚

Even the “plain” kite card is adorable!Β  These cards will bring sunshine to any room!Β  Thank you Kayla for sharing your talent with our kids! πŸ™‚

Jill Blasche from TX is next, she has been with me since I started and I love how I can ask her to make cards a certain way, and she does πŸ™‚

Jill has a lot of sentiment stamps that I love!Β  Look how different these cards are!

I had asked Jill to make some cards for teen boys, aren’t these great! ?Β  Not girly at all!

I hope you get a kick out of the ones on the left:)Β  My grandson, 4, colored these dinos, and I showed Jill, she asked if Lawrence would color some for her, and here they are!Β  I think she did an awesome job, and so does Lawrence! πŸ™‚Β  On the right, the tea cup card, has some beautiful gold stitching across the center, and I sent her the rose.Β  It’s new from Stampin’ Up! the stamp set is called Rose Wonder, but all I used was the Rose Garden Thinlits Dies.Β  I used my Big Shot to cut it out of white card stock, then I colored it with Blendabilities (retired).Β  I love the way Jill put it on the sparkly craft cardstock and embossed it with dots all over! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill, for sharing with our kids and being a wonderful friend! πŸ™‚

This post is getting pretty long, so one more guest, Ruby Taylor, from MS:)

These are so cute and bright, Ruby made several of each design, so more kids can enjoy them! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Ruby and all of my card makers, you are talented and generous! πŸ™‚Β  I appreciate every single one of you! πŸ™‚Β  I’m excited every time I get a box to share with our kids! πŸ™‚

Thank you everyone who has stopped by today to visit, I appreciate you too! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing the cards and maybe got some inspiration for your own cards.Β  Please visit our sponsor, Doodle Pantry, and our SAS4Kids challenge blog! πŸ™‚Β  Hope to see you again soon!

The Friday Mashup #241 & SAS4kids

Once again, I’ve gotten behind:(Β  Once of my card makers challenged me to make a card and post it before the weekend is up.Β  Okay, she said it wasn’t a real challenge, but it got me up and motivated:)

I have a very simple card this week.Β  I have a unit on one of my hospitals for small kids, so this is what I made for the challenge over at the Friday Mashup #241πŸ™‚Β  This card, of course, is for one of my Send A Smile 4 Kids hospitals! πŸ™‚

FM241

This week’s Mashup Challenge is:Β
  • Create a project featuring a Monkey or Zoo Animals.
  • or Create a project with a Fancy Folds.
  • or Mash it up! and create a Fancy Folded Project with a Monkey.

aSDC19013

The image on this card came from Doodle Pantry, and is simply called, Funky Sock Monkey. I think this is a great card for small kids, a large cute image and very little that could fall off! πŸ™‚

I blog with WordPress, it seems I can no longer add my blogs posts the way I used to:(Β  I have to use their new & improved method:(Β  I guess I’m an old fuddy duddy, because I’m not too fond of changes, especially when I’m made it do it! 😦  So my posts are going to look a little different….maybe even strange, until I get used to this new version.Β  I hope it doesn’t look too different;)

Now on to my guest for today, Donna Wakefield! πŸ™‚Β  Donna is from IN, and has donated quite a few times:)Β  I have some Valentines of hers to share, but first, I want to show you these awesome Star Wars cards she made! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

You’ll have to use some imagination, because the photos do not do them justice!Β  These cards have lots of sparkle and shine! πŸ™‚Β  The cards on the left has silver stars, and the card on the right has silver words, the top right is a black square with lots of silver sparkle, with a silver star, and the blue paper on the left side of the right card is one that when you tip it around, it changes, really pretty! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

The card on the left has white background paper, but all the design is silver.Β  The Star Wars words are silver and it has some more of the black with silver.Β  The card on the right has the same things going on:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I hate to admit, the only Star Wars movie I’ve ever seen was the first one.Β  Yes, I’m that old! lol These cards have more sparkle and the card on the right has blue paper that is actually darker than it appears and the words are all blue foil! πŸ™‚

Donna also sent in some Valentines:)Β  I guess I need to keep my comments down or this post will be a mile long:(

Ha, learned something else new!Β  Boy this is taking me forever to write!Β  I’m sure I’ll get better with practice! πŸ™‚

These are all cute Valentines by Donna and I know the kids will love them! They are probably at the hospitals waiting to be handed out! πŸ™‚Β  Or they may have already been handed out, that is totally up to the hospitals to decide how they are distributed:)Β  I want to thank Donna for the wide selection of cards, she did a great job! πŸ™‚

I don’t mind multiples of the same card as I have three hospitals and I’m sure a number of different floors to be spread around:)

I want to thank all of my card makers, without you, none of this would be possible! πŸ™‚Β  You can come here for inspiration or you can join in the fun of sending cards to children’s hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  Just visit our web site to get more information SAS4Kids.

Thank you all for coming by to visit, I hope you come again! πŸ™‚Β  You can also visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see what others are making:)

Merry Monday #187, Valentines & SAS4Kids

It is COLD where I am, and I made a Christmas card, but we’re also going to look at some Valentines today, so lets get started! πŸ™‚

First, my card is for the Merry Monday Challenge #187. The theme this week is plaids:)

187I love plaids! πŸ™‚Β  I actually use them a lot, just not lately:(Β  So here’s what I made:

aSDC18865I made a card like this one a while back with a red Moose.Β  I liked it so much, I decided to use the green fox:)Β  Everything I used came from a digital store on Esty.Β  I actually took the image over to a photo program and made the plain green from one of the fox’s stripes.Β  Then I ran that plain green through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! (retired).Β  I also used a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! on the top right.Β  It’s hard to see because it’s from Teeny, Tiny, Wishes;)Β  I wanted to keep the sentiment small to not disturb the scene:)

After embossing my paper, I rubbed it gently with a nail file to bring out the white.Β  Pretty easy:)Β  I plan to make a lot of the plaid animal cards for next Christmas!Β  I think they will be great for guys in my Send A Smile for Kids hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  People tend to think of kids as small, and I understand that, but we also serve “kids” up to 18, sometimes 20.Β  Please keep them in mind when making cards! πŸ™‚

Now for some extra fun today, I have a guest who has sent in cards many times! πŸ™‚Β  She sends her cards down all the way from Canada, Diane Herniman:)Β  I always feel the need to tell people you don’t have to make cards like Diane’s!Β  Diane’s cards are unique:)Β  I’ve never seen anyone make cards like hers!Β  That doesn’t necessarily make her’s better than any of yours, just different:)Β  I appreciate all the different styles of my card makers and I know the kids do too! πŸ™‚Β  So enjoy Diane’s cards, and don’t feel that I compare them to anyone elses:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI, personally, have three hospitals.Β  One of my hospitals has asked for cards without embellishments.Β  Here is how Diane has chosen to address that problem:)Β  The first card on the left, is a copy of the second card!Β  She made the second card with lots of stickers made with foil and they stick up a bit.Β  She just copied it and now there is a card without embellishments;)Β  Great idea!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are the insides, the card on the left is “flat”, and the card on the right has a big foil sticker!Β  Both are great cards, and I’m sure whoever gets them will be happy! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are the backs of the cards.Β  If you’ve never seen Diane’s cards, she uses every available surface for the kids enjoyment.Β  The one on the left is the “plain” one and the one on the right has the same type of foil stickers:)Β  Great job Diane, I would never have thought of doing this! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow about this one?Β  Boy cards are so hard for me sometimes, Diane does a great job! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’m always surprised when I get a box from Diane:)Β  She calls this a ordinary card:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve never seen this type of card before!Β  At the top is how it looks when you start to open it.Β  They how it looks closed, and finally when it’s open.Β  What a great, fun card! πŸ™‚Β  I had to see more of these!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACards for boys and girls, yay! πŸ™‚Β  I think boys will find these just as much fun as girls! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t like to pick favorites, because I love them all, but I have to say this one is my favorite! πŸ™‚Β  Click on this map to enlarge it and see all the 3D items on here! πŸ™‚Β  Amazing work Diane! πŸ™‚Β  I don’t know how Diane thinks of these things!Β  I’d love to see the face of the boy that gets this one! πŸ™‚

No pressure Diane, I don’t expect something this flashy all the time, but it’s fun to open these cards once in a while! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for thinking overtime to come up with great ideas!Β  I could never do what you do!Β  I have them here in hand and I still couldn’t copy them if I tried!

I hope you all enjoyed Diane’s cards:)Β  As you might imagine, Diane doesn’t send a lot of these cards.Β  I still need you, all of the card makers on my team, to make and send cards.Β  Diane usually send 24-28 cards, and that’s great!Β  But, remember, I have three hospitals, over 300 kids!Β  I need you, and I appreciate everything you do for our kids!!! πŸ™‚

I get excited every time I get a box of cards! πŸ™‚Β  I can’t wait to open them and see what you’ve made! πŸ™‚Β  Every card I receive is a special gift for a child! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you for supporting our work with SAS4Kids! πŸ™‚Β  Please be sure to take a look at our SAS4Kids challenge blog! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope if you don’t send us cards, that you are finding some great inspiration here! πŸ™‚Β  Please come back again for some more great cards! πŸ™‚

Doodle Pantry, Send A Smile 4 Kids, Valentines

It was a rough two weeks with the 4 grandkids home from school!Β  But we all survived and now it’s back to work for me, minus the distractions;)Β  lol

I have one card today, it’s a Valentine for two different challenges:)Β  The first is our own SAS4Kids challenge blog where it’s Valentines or Love Cards 4 Kids!

The second,Β  ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 13, is sponsoring the current challenge at SAS4Kids! So here’s my card:

1aSDC18793A nice simply made card:) For the main image I used the Doodle Pantry set, With Heart.Β  The brown paper is digital paper from the set.Β  I printed it on Canon Matte Photo Paper, it’s thick, almost like cardstock.Β  I printed it and waited for a little while, and then embossed it with a folder from Stampin’ up! called, Happy Heart.

Then after embossing, I used a paper nail file to just lift off the tops of some of the hearts leaving white exposed.Β  From Stampin’ Up! I also used their Hearts Border punch, Real Red cardstock and a stamp that I don’t remember what set it came out of.Β  The stamp was used out of a set and not returned properly:( Β  My goal was to make a card that could be used by either a boy or girl;)

Now, on to a guest! πŸ™‚Β  I’m featuring Ruby Haugen from MN today:)Β  Ruby sent in two boxes of cards separately.Β  One box is all Winter themed cards, and the second box is Valentines! πŸ™‚Β  I really want to share the Winter themed cards because they’re all my favorite color, blue! πŸ™‚ so lets see what Ruby has sent in for our kids at SAS4Kids! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOoooh, I love blue, especially blue snow, I don’t know why:)Β  Ruby colors her images with colored pencils.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are all just great!Β  I love the papers, and layouts! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t think Ruby sent any copies, I believe she sent all one of a kinds:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALots of Winter fun for kids! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese last two are a little bit teal colored, still in the blue family, love them! πŸ™‚Β  These are all great examples of Winter cards!Β  But you could also add Happy Birthday to some of these cards, or thinking of you.Β  Ruby put a lot of love in these cards and it shows! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Ruby! πŸ™‚

I’m going to save Ruby’s Valentines until my next post.Β  I’ve been trying to do this during the hours the kids aren’t sleeping, big mistake:(

Thanks for coming by today, be sure and check out the blogs that I’ve linked! πŸ™‚Β  Also please check out the two new Stampin’ Up! catalogs near the top on the right:)Β  There’s is a big sale going on! πŸ™‚

Please come visit again soon! πŸ™‚
