Send A Smile 4 Kids Challenge #183

Welcome to another post featuring Christmas and Winter cards! πŸ™‚Β  I’ve been so busy, I almost forgot to do this post!Β  This post will be kinda long, so I hope you’re all ready! πŸ™‚

Christmas is an exciting time of year for our kids in hospitals!Β  Well, it’s exciting for us getting ready to ship them cards!Β  I know that I love to get cards to share with the kids and see what our generous donors have made to bring smiles to kids faces! πŸ™‚

My husband came home from work late and let me know that it’s snowing outside, as I’m sure it is in many parts of the USA!Β  So here is my card to share to get things going:

aDSC00886

It’s a Winter Birthday card! πŸ™‚Β  I heard that some people don’t quite understand what “every day cards with Christmas, Winter themes” actually means.Β  Here is a great example, well, I think so anyway πŸ˜‰

I used a 6×6 paper pad by Echo Park, called Celebrate Winter.Β  What fun colors and images they have in this paper pad! πŸ™‚Β  And it’s a Birthday card! πŸ™‚Β  I know you shouldn’t start a sentence with “and”,Β  sorry πŸ˜‰

I used Stampin’ Up! Basic Black cardstock and sentiment.Β  I’m not sure which set it came out of because it’s in my “favorites” box that I use all the time.Β  Both papers came from the same paper pad, and there are other fun papers as well πŸ™‚Β  No I don’t get paid to promote Echo Park, I just love their paper pads, and they work well with Stampin’ Up! cardstock! πŸ™‚

Next I have some great cards from repeat donor, Lee Mae Elkins from WA.Β  I know you’ll enjoy her cards! πŸ™‚Β  Click on them to see their sentiments πŸ˜‰Β  Here are some Christmas/Winter Birthdays!

Every day cards with Christmas/Winter themes πŸ™‚

Here are a couple of Blank/no sentiment, Christmas cards πŸ™‚

Some Merry Christmas for those of you missing the “official” Christmas cards πŸ˜‰

And finally, some “other than Merry Christmas” cards πŸ™‚

Thank you Lee Mae for giving everyone something to love! πŸ™‚Β  Great examples of almost every kind of Winter/Christmas card! πŸ™‚

I’d like to thank all of my donors for their efforts this year to bring happy smiles to kids faces! πŸ™‚

Thank you for stopping by! πŸ™‚Β  I hope we’ve given you some inspiration to get through the holiday card making season! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you’ll come join us again for more cards! πŸ™‚

Please stop by Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge blog to see more cards, or enter your own! πŸ™‚

Happy Thanksgiving to you all! πŸ™‚

SAS4Kids, Happy Holidays or AG

Hello everyone! πŸ™‚Β  Are you getting excited for Christmas or something like it?!Β  I’ve had a request from one of my hospitals for more generic sentiments instead of “Merry Christmas”.Β  I didn’t pick the title, but it reminded me that some people don’t celebrate Christmas.Β  Feel free to send in cards with different sentiments like: Happy Holidays, Seasons Greetings, Holiday Wishes.Β  There are lots to choose from lately, but you can also make “Christmas” cards and leave the sentiment off πŸ˜‰

I have my own card to share that you can find over on the SAS4Kids blog πŸ™‚Β  Check it out for other cards with inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  Here is my card:

DSC00871

I used the same paper pad as last week, “Sugarblush”, by Recollections, from Michaels.Β  The black with snowflakes was printed off my computer, as well as the sentiment.Β  I thought pink would be fun for the kids πŸ™‚

Now I have a guest this week, Debbie Caldwell from MI πŸ™‚Β  Debbie is a repeat sender and she’s made some great cards for the kids that are Post Office friendly for the kids to share with their family or friends πŸ™‚

Debbie has used some great papers, a lot are the same with different layouts πŸ™‚Β  She used some great layouts more than once as well πŸ™‚Β  These cards all still look different and will not all go to the same hospital, so these are great choices! πŸ™‚Β  These are more Winter cards than Christmas, but she also sent Christmas that I will share another week πŸ™‚

Thank you Debbie for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids in the hospital! πŸ™‚Β  I know these cards will be loved! πŸ™‚

Thank you to all my card makers for sharing their talents! πŸ™‚Β  Your cards bring lots of smiles to our kids! πŸ™‚

If you’re just stopping by for some inspiration, I hope you found some! πŸ™‚Β  We are happy to share what we do for kids in the hospital to help cheer them and make them smile! πŸ™‚ We have volunteers in a number of states, we would be happy to accept your donation of cards, if you would like to share πŸ™‚Β  We appreciate A2 cards as they are easier to mail.Β  You can contact any of our volunteers on our contact page and see if the size cards you make would be acceptable πŸ™‚

If you already make and donate cards, I’m pretty sure you’ve had this conversation with your volunteer πŸ™‚

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you’ll visit again! πŸ™‚

Personal share with a senior center

Hi Ladies πŸ™‚Β  Some of you know that I have a personal card share with a senior center.Β  For those of you who don’t know, it is in no way part of Send A Smile 4 Kids!Β  This is personal in honor of my mother who has passed.Β  My Mother lived in the same town since I was born, more than 50 years!Β  My siblings and I all grew up there.Β  My brother still lives in the same house.

My mother really enjoyed the senior center after my father passed.Β  She made many friends, went on trips, and enjoyed many other activities πŸ™‚Β  After she passed a few years ago, I decided to do something nice for the seniors that attend there now, in honor of my mother πŸ™‚Β  Since I am a card maker, I make cards for the seniors to send to their family and friends πŸ™‚

I’ve decided to share some of these cards with you so you can see how I make cards that are flat for mailing πŸ™‚Β  You can send me cards for “my” seniors, but, of course, you don’t “have” to.Β  This is not part of SAS4Kids!

These cards are as “flat” as can be made.Β  The Post Office loves to add on postage, but I don’t want the seniors to have to do that πŸ™‚Β  They do not have glitter, buttons, brads, bows, large gems or anything that might make them bulky.Β  You can use layers, without pop-ups πŸ˜‰

The cards I send are some of the same sentiments as SAS4Kids:

Winter, Christmas, Valentines, Spring, Easter, Patriotic, Summer, Fall, Thanksgiving, Get Well, Sympathy, Miss You, Hi/Hello, Thinking of you, or Birthday.Β  All cards are blank.

I’m sorry for such a long explanation 😦  Here are some samples I made this week:

DSC00852

DSC00855

DSC00856

I love how the first card came out! πŸ™‚Β  It’s a layout I use a lot, but it’s so pretty with the pinks and gold.Β  I used a paper pad from Michaels, Recollections,” Sugarblush.”Β  It has pink Santa’s that I’m using for the kids πŸ™‚Β  I used two gold cardstock papers that I bought at Micheals in the individual section. I also used Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo, and their new snowflakes that are available from Nov. 1st to Nov. 30th only.Β  I can help you order them if you don’t have a demo πŸ™‚Β  I also used all Stampin’ Up! punches and dies.Β  The sentiments were printed on my computer.

Next I have the masculine cards I made:)

DSC00853

This card is the same layout as the first pink one above.Β  I think it still needs something, a snowflake?Β  Suggestions?

DSC00858

DSC00859

For these three cards I used a paper pad from Carta Bella called, “Let It Snow”.Β  For these three cards I used general sentiments.Β  Any “theme” paper can be made into a general sentiment card. This last card is a great example of using Fall paper and making it into one of the sentiments we use all the time πŸ™‚Β  It could just as easily say Hi/Hello, Smile, Happy Birthday, or any other sentiment you have πŸ™‚

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed the cards I made! πŸ™‚Β  I will be back again on Nov. 3rd with a card post for Send A Smile 4 Kids, I hope you will come back! πŸ™‚

Thank you to anyone already sending cards for “my seniors”! πŸ™‚

Now, on to some cards! πŸ™‚Β  I have two cards from one of our sponsors, Fred She Said Designs πŸ™‚Β  This link goes right to the page of this set called Christmas Poinsettia Packs: Red or Blue πŸ™‚

My Project2

This first card was made with items in the pack, except for the shiny gold medallion behind the flower.Β  The medallion is from Stampin’ Up!, it’s retired, but I had a few left over from last year.Β  It’s just an idea how you can make the pack items look a little different.Β  I also used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock for my base layer πŸ™‚

aDSC00439

This is the second card I made using the Christmas Poinsettia Pack, from Fred She Said πŸ™‚Β  I’m sorry, parts of this look a little blurry to me 😦  I hope you all can see it okay πŸ™‚Β  I used just the Poinsettia from the pack and mounted the whole thing of Stampin’ Up! Real Red.Β  The black paper is from Carta Bella, Christmas Delivery paper pack #2.Β  Nope, I don’t have it sitting around, I bought it from Snap Click Supply.Β  It’s a digital paper pack, and it printed out beautifully on Canon, Matte, photo paper.

Behind the black designer paper is just some Stampin’ Up! Basic Black. For the Memory Box, Holly Vine, I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green. I used a set by Avery Elle called Winter Woodland Wonders for the “Merry Christmas” sentiment. Lastly, I used a retired embellishment for the middle of my flower from Stampin’ Up!

The Poinsettia was so easy to cut out once it was printed, also on Canon, Matte, photo paper.Β  This card shows that you can take items you have sitting around, add a FSS Christmas Poinsettia and you have a beautiful card! πŸ™‚

Now, I will be giving away, free, to one of my commenters, one of two Stampin’ Up! Party Pandas stamp sets! πŸ™‚Β  All you have to do is make a comment on my blog and you will be entered to win! πŸ™‚

I made a card for this occasion, the set is usually for Birthdays, but I saw a panda with a Christmas hat somewhere and thought it was so cute! πŸ™‚

DSC00468

I used Stampin’ Up!Β  Real Red cardstock.Β  The tree is from Peaceful Pines, the sentiment from Snowflake Sentiments, The hat is from Jolly Friends, it also had a punch for the hat, and of course, the panda is from Party Pandas, all sets from Stampin’ Up! I believe they are all retired, but Stampin’ Up! has a lot of sets that are similar and the new Holiday catalog will be coming out before you know it! πŸ™‚

I cut down the hat and white hat band, it was a little too big, but it helped to have the punch πŸ˜‰Β  The panda actually has a card in his hand.Β  I cut out his arms and made a little Christmas gift and colored it with Stampin’ Up! markers.Β  I drew the bow right onto his lower face πŸ˜‰Β  The inks I used were Crushed Curry, Old Olive, Real Red and Early Espresso on the tree trunk.

I am personally supplying 3 Stampin’ Up! stamp sets.Β  One on Dena’s blog and 2 on my blog.Β  I have two sets of Party Pandas πŸ™‚Β  These were very popular and very cute! πŸ™‚

DSC00469

I enjoyed making all these cards and encourage you to check out Fred She Said and Stampin’ Up!

Thank you so much for supporting Send a Smile 4 Kids and our wonderful sponsors of this blog hop. Good luck in the drawings! Leave a comment here and hop for more chances at many prizes.

THE NEXT STOP IS: Anne Slattery

Doodle Pantry & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I’ve been sick for a few days, and I’m afraid it may get worse, before it gets better 😦  Probably just a cold, I don’t understand how they can make you feel so miserable! 😦

I have the new Stampin’ Up! Holiday catalog near the top on the right side of my page! πŸ™‚Β  You can order now if you’re interested, I’d be happy to be your Demonstrator! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is well and enjoying the beginnings of Fall ! πŸ™‚Β  I love Fall and I have a number of cards to share with you today! πŸ™‚

First is my card for the Doodle Pantry sponsorship of Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  I will enter it in both blogs πŸ™‚

asdc11212

Hmmm, it looks blurry here, but if you click to enlarge, it looks just fine πŸ™‚ I used some misc. paper on the right, a couple stickers on the left, and an digital image by one of our sponsors, Doodle Pantry! πŸ™‚Β  To make the card, I used Thinlits-Circle Card die (retired) by Stampin’ Up!Β  It’s so easy to make this cute card ! πŸ™‚

Now for some fun SAS4Kids donor cards! πŸ™‚Β  First I want to show some cards from my friend,Β  Jill Blasche of TX πŸ™‚Β  She has made some great examples of Fall themed cards that aren’t Halloween.Β  She also has sent in some cards made for two of my hospitals and then changed them up just a little, so they can go to my hospital with no embellishments πŸ™‚

Ok, the orange one looks kind of Halloween, but it doesn’t have to be πŸ˜‰Β  Both cards are made two ways.Β  On the orange card, it’s made with googly eyes on the left, and on the right, it has just card stock eyes.Β  On the leaf card, on the right, you can see she used some string and a button.Β  On the left there is a paper button and just a strip of card stock in brown.Β  All of the cards are great and with minimal effort, changed into a card with no embellishments!

Again, the black card could be Halloween, but it has a general sentiment.Β  The black card on the left has ribbon, and the one on the right has card stock that looks like a ribbon πŸ™‚Β  The pumpkin card has a nice Fall theme, with a general sentiment.Β  the one on the right has ribbon and three gems.Β  The one on the right has green card stock and three punched holes to represent gems, very clever πŸ™‚

Two more that look like Halloween, but have general sentiments, and two more that are very Fall looking πŸ™‚

Four general cards included in the box, I love the birds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for all these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚

Next I have cards from Diane Herniman from ON, Canada πŸ™‚Β  Diane makes wonderful cards with flowers from her garden and her dog, birds, and other live or flying things in her yard!

This is the front and inside of one of Diane’s cards.

On the left is the front and back of the card, and on the right is the inside πŸ™‚

All card fronts, gorgeous photos! πŸ™‚

On the left are two fronts and on the right is the envelope and card front πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for your beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

Next is Yara Baird from WA,and she has a blog you can visit HERE.Β  Yara may have sent to other volunteers at SAS4Kids, but she is new to me πŸ™‚ Yara has sent in a wide variety in her box! πŸ™‚

Summer all the way to New Year! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Yara for your wonderful cards! I know the kids will enjoy these cards! πŸ™‚

I know, it’s a long blog, but I’ve been gone a while πŸ˜‰Β  One last donor, and that is Vicki Luebke of IN πŸ™‚Β  Vicki sends in a lot of cards, she is really good with encouragement cards! πŸ™‚

Great cards, Vicki, wonderful selection! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Vicki for your continued support of our kids! πŸ™‚

All of the card makers on my team are talented and generous!! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t do my job without all of you! πŸ™‚

It’s taken me two days to finish this or more, I can’t remember, I hate being sick! 😦

I want to thank all of my cardmakers and everyone who has stopped by today for some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to be back soon with a brain that’s not filled with oatmeal!

Merry Monday #197, Easter & SAS4Kids

This has been a horrible month for me! 😦  I had Strep Throat, a cold, and now a Sinus infection! 😦  I am not a happy camper:(

What cheers me up is to make cards, sort cards, box cards & send cards!Β  Actually, anything that involves cards makes me smile! πŸ™‚Β  So I’m here to share some Easter cards with you! πŸ™‚

First, my card, is for Merry Monday #197.

197 aaSDC19704

One of my card makers used this embossing folder by Darise, I loved it so much, I had to get it!Β  It folds up at the corners and looks like a photo frame:)Β  Here’s a side view:

aSDC19709

For this card I used the Darise Embossing Folder, I think it’s actually called Photo Frame.I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, White Glimmer Paper, and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.Β  I used a digital image from BellasScrapsnClips on Etsy.Β  One more photo to show you the Wink of Stella:)

bbSDC19710

I put the Wink of Stella on all the snow, I think it looks really pretty! πŸ™‚Β  Next I have some guests with Easter cards! πŸ™‚Β  First up is Cyndie Reis of CA:)Β  Cyndie has sent in cards a couple of times now:)

Aren’t these cute!?Β  The colors, the papers the cutouts, all are so adorable! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you so much Cyndie for finding us and sending cards in! πŸ™‚

Holly Blaskie is a repeat sender from MI:)

Pretty colors and images, the kids will love these! πŸ™‚

I love these papers and colors, so Springy! πŸ™‚Β  I adore this little lamb from Stampin’ Up! so cute for Easter! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Holly, your cards are always wonderful! πŸ™‚

Lastly I have Lee Mae Elkins of WA:)Β  Lee Mae has her own blog that you can visit here, http://boxesofdogs.blogspot.com/

Lee Mae has sent in a wide variety of cards and very few duplicates, where does she find the time?!

Some really great cards for the boys, and the ones on the right, I think would be great for teens:)

Simple layouts, but great papers and images make them special! πŸ™‚

More cute cards! πŸ™‚

These cards are adorable, love the papers and images!

I love all of these cards!Β  The two on the left are so different from the rest! πŸ™‚Β  The two on the right are also so stinkin’ cute!Β  Thank you Lee Mae for sending so many different cards, I know the kids will love all of them! πŸ™‚

Well, I’m exhausted and ready for bed!Β  Maybe I’ll take a nap and get up again, who knows;)Β  Thanks so much for coming by today, I really appreciate your interest! πŸ™‚Β  I’m hoping to get well at some point soon so I can get back to some kind of schedule.Β  I’m sorry if I’m not as cherry as usual:(

I’m wishing all of you a very Happy Easter, I hope you can enjoy it with people you love! πŸ™‚

The one on the left, is the one I wanted, until I made it and then the snow seemed too big:(Β  The one on the right, my younger granddaughter wanted with the bunny:)

aSDC19169

This is the one my older granddaughter wanted me to make.Β  I really like her idea so this is the one I’m going to enter in the challenge:)Β  I used some digital images from three different artists on Etsy.Β  For the base, I used Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist:)

Now, because Sunday is Valentine’s Day, all of my guests have sent in Valentine’s for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share! πŸ™‚Β  My first guest is Sandy Borsheim of MN.Β  Sandy has sent in cards a number of times:)
