Freshly Made Sketches #242 & SAS4Kids

Summer has been hard!ย ย  With all the grandkids home and lots of medical and other appointments, I’ve had less time to spend crafting! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ ย  Well, today, I found time to make one card! lolย  Yes, one! lolย ย  But, I have lots of cards sent in for Send A Smile 4 Kids to share!

First my card, I will enter it in the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #242 and also at the challenge for Send A Smile 4 Kids ๐Ÿ™‚

FMS Final 242-001

OMGoodness, I love this new set from Stampin’ Up!, it’s called Best Birds ๐Ÿ™‚ย  You can also get a die set to go with it! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I have to say, I love dies!ย  I cut a piece of magnet sheet and tape it (with very strong tape) to the back of my stamp box and they all stay right where I need them!ย  The stamps fit right on top of the dies ๐Ÿ™‚

Everything on this card is from Stampin’ Up! unless noted! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I used a retired embossing folder with clouds for the background.ย  The So Saffron sun was die cut.ย  The bird is Marina Mist, and the branch is Pear Pizzazz.ย  The little thank you stamp is from Wishes Your Way (retired).

I had a lot of fun making this card, until I got Memento black ink fingerprints on it! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย ย  It was so bad, I had to make a second one!ย  How disappointing! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  This card will be going into a box for one of my SAS4Kids hospitals ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m a little short of Thank You cards right now, so I’m going to try and make more ๐Ÿ™‚

I know you’re all waiting for more card inspiration and Iย  have a bunch for you! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First I have Judy Martin from PA ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Judy is a repeat sender, thank you Judy! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wonderful selection of cards, Judy! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love all the fun Summer and water cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  It was so much fun to add these to the boxes I just sent out!ย  Thank you Judy for being on my team! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next is Lisa Simokaitis from IL ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love getting cards from my home state! ๐Ÿ™‚

Great cards Lisa! I love all the animals, I know the kids will too, thank you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Karen Peterson from NE is next ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Karen makes a lot of her cards from kits and they’re wonderful! ๐Ÿ™‚

Beautiful 3D flowers, Karen! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  These cards are shiny and have gold accents ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Karen! ๐Ÿ™‚

Last for tonight is Lillian Abrams of MI ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Lillian has a blog you can visit here ๐Ÿ™‚

The last two cards are 6×6, aren’t they adorable! ?ย  I love all these cards Lillian! These are all fun and colorful, just perfect for kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you so much! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s all I have for today, I hope you all have enjoyed looking at these great inspirations! ๐Ÿ™‚ย ย  Please use all my links and check out all the sites mentioned! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you to all my card makers who make it possible for me to send cards through Send A Smile 4 Kids to my 3 hospitals in IL! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I couldn’t do this without you!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope to see you all again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #197, Easter & SAS4Kids

This has been a horrible month for me! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I had Strep Throat, a cold, and now a Sinus infection! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I am not a happy camper:(

What cheers me up is to make cards, sort cards, box cards & send cards!ย  Actually, anything that involves cards makes me smile! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  So I’m here to share some Easter cards with you! ๐Ÿ™‚

First, my card, is for Merry Monday #197.

197 aaSDC19704

One of my card makers used this embossing folder by Darise, I loved it so much, I had to get it!ย  It folds up at the corners and looks like a photo frame:)ย  Here’s a side view:

For this card I used the Darise Embossing Folder, I think it’s actually called Photo Frame.I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red cardstock, White Glimmer Paper, and Wink of Stella clear glitter brush.ย  I used a digital image from BellasScrapsnClips on Etsy.ย  One more photo to show you the Wink of Stella:)

I put the Wink of Stella on all the snow, I think it looks really pretty! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Next I have some guests with Easter cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First up is Cyndie Reis of CA:)ย  Cyndie has sent in cards a couple of times now:)

Aren’t these cute!?ย  The colors, the papers the cutouts, all are so adorable! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you so much Cyndie for finding us and sending cards in! ๐Ÿ™‚

Holly Blaskie is a repeat sender from MI:)

Pretty colors and images, the kids will love these! ๐Ÿ™‚

I love these papers and colors, so Springy! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I adore this little lamb from Stampin’ Up! so cute for Easter! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Holly, your cards are always wonderful! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lastly I have Lee Mae Elkins of WA:)ย  Lee Mae has her own blog that you can visit here, http://boxesofdogs.blogspot.com/

Lee Mae has sent in a wide variety of cards and very few duplicates, where does she find the time?!

Some really great cards for the boys, and the ones on the right, I think would be great for teens:)

Simple layouts, but great papers and images make them special! ๐Ÿ™‚

More cute cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

These cards are adorable, love the papers and images!

I love all of these cards!ย  The two on the left are so different from the rest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The two on the right are also so stinkin’ cute!ย  Thank you Lee Mae for sending so many different cards, I know the kids will love all of them! ๐Ÿ™‚

Well, I’m exhausted and ready for bed!ย  Maybe I’ll take a nap and get up again, who knows;)ย  Thanks so much for coming by today, I really appreciate your interest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m hoping to get well at some point soon so I can get back to some kind of schedule.ย  I’m sorry if I’m not as cherry as usual:(

I’m wishing all of you a very Happy Easter, I hope you can enjoy it with people you love! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #194, Easter, SAS4Kids

OMGoodness, I am soooo tired! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I found out today that I have Strep Throat:(ย  I’m going to do this post and head straight to bed!

I have a card for the challenge over at Merry Monday #194.ย  I actually made it a couple of days ago, but I’ve just been so tired:(ย  I’m going to show you my card and then I have one guest today with Easter cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red c/s and embossing folder, Petals aย  Plenty, one of my favorite embossing folders:)ย  The image came from an online seller that I believe is no longer in business, PC Hugs.ย  The sentiment I printed off my computer.ย  I think I used a Martha Stewart punch for the snowflake, and I put a sequin in the center.ย  I left a white border around my image, I think it looks like an old snapshot:)

My guest today is from Canada and I’ve shown her cards before, Diane Herniman:)ย  Diane make her special cards using a lot of photos from her personal garden:)

On the left is the back of the card, and on the right is the inside.ย  It’s a little strange because this is the first time I remember there being a blank area on one of Diane’s cards.

Here is a side view on the left.ย  I wanted to try and show you how the embossing folder folds upwards and makes a lovely frame for Diane’s flowers! ๐Ÿ™‚

On the far left is the handmade envelope, and then the back of the card.ย  On the right is the inside of the card, with photos from the garden:)

This is the outside of the card, you can see more detail of that embossing folder.ย  You put the image in the center and then carefully fold the edges up.ย  Reminds me of a photo frame:)

Ont he left is the inside of the card, and on the right, the outside.

The inside is on the left and the outside is on the right.ย  What adorable baby bunnies! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here are a few Mother’s Day cards to get you started:)

On the left are the three insides that go with the cards on the right.ย  Diane sure knows how to pick papers and colors! ๐Ÿ™‚

Look at the gorgeous card with flowers from Diane’s garden!ย  The front of the card on the right shows the embossing folder really well, it’s a lovely design! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you Diane for sharing your works of heart with our kids in the hospital!ย  They will love all the Easter cards and they will love sharing these cards with their mothers! ๐Ÿ™‚

We have a new challenge up over on our SAS4Kids blog, pop over and check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I’m always happy to have visitors! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  hope to see you again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m going to have some hot tea and then go to bed!ย  I hope you’re all well and enjoying this weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #187, Valentines & SAS4Kids

It is COLD where I am, and I made a Christmas card, but we’re also going to look at some Valentines today, so lets get started! ๐Ÿ™‚

First, my card is for the Merry Monday Challenge #187. The theme this week is plaids:)

187I love plaids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I actually use them a lot, just not lately:(ย  So here’s what I made:

aSDC18865I made a card like this one a while back with a red Moose.ย  I liked it so much, I decided to use the green fox:)ย  Everything I used came from a digital store on Esty.ย  I actually took the image over to a photo program and made the plain green from one of the fox’s stripes.ย  Then I ran that plain green through my Cuttlebug using an embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! (retired).ย  I also used a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! on the top right.ย  It’s hard to see because it’s from Teeny, Tiny, Wishes;)ย  I wanted to keep the sentiment small to not disturb the scene:)

After embossing my paper, I rubbed it gently with a nail file to bring out the white.ย  Pretty easy:)ย  I plan to make a lot of the plaid animal cards for next Christmas!ย  I think they will be great for guys in my Send A Smile for Kids hospitals! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  People tend to think of kids as small, and I understand that, but we also serve “kids” up to 18, sometimes 20.ย  Please keep them in mind when making cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now for some extra fun today, I have a guest who has sent in cards many times! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  She sends her cards down all the way from Canada, Diane Herniman:)ย  I always feel the need to tell people you don’t have to make cards like Diane’s!ย  Diane’s cards are unique:)ย  I’ve never seen anyone make cards like hers!ย  That doesn’t necessarily make her’s better than any of yours, just different:)ย  I appreciate all the different styles of my card makers and I know the kids do too! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  So enjoy Diane’s cards, and don’t feel that I compare them to anyone elses:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI, personally, have three hospitals.ย  One of my hospitals has asked for cards without embellishments.ย  Here is how Diane has chosen to address that problem:)ย  The first card on the left, is a copy of the second card!ย  She made the second card with lots of stickers made with foil and they stick up a bit.ย  She just copied it and now there is a card without embellishments;)ย  Great idea!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are the insides, the card on the left is “flat”, and the card on the right has a big foil sticker!ย  Both are great cards, and I’m sure whoever gets them will be happy! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are the backs of the cards.ย  If you’ve never seen Diane’s cards, she uses every available surface for the kids enjoyment.ย  The one on the left is the “plain” one and the one on the right has the same type of foil stickers:)ย  Great job Diane, I would never have thought of doing this! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHow about this one?ย  Boy cards are so hard for me sometimes, Diane does a great job! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’m always surprised when I get a box from Diane:)ย  She calls this a ordinary card:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve never seen this type of card before!ย  At the top is how it looks when you start to open it.ย  They how it looks closed, and finally when it’s open.ย  What a great, fun card! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I had to see more of these!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACards for boys and girls, yay! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I think boys will find these just as much fun as girls! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t like to pick favorites, because I love them all, but I have to say this one is my favorite! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Click on this map to enlarge it and see all the 3D items on here! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Amazing work Diane! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I don’t know how Diane thinks of these things!ย  I’d love to see the face of the boy that gets this one! ๐Ÿ™‚

No pressure Diane, I don’t expect something this flashy all the time, but it’s fun to open these cards once in a while! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Diane for thinking overtime to come up with great ideas!ย  I could never do what you do!ย  I have them here in hand and I still couldn’t copy them if I tried!

I hope you all enjoyed Diane’s cards:)ย  As you might imagine, Diane doesn’t send a lot of these cards.ย  I still need you, all of the card makers on my team, to make and send cards.ย  Diane usually send 24-28 cards, and that’s great!ย  But, remember, I have three hospitals, over 300 kids!ย  I need you, and I appreciate everything you do for our kids!!! ๐Ÿ™‚

I get excited every time I get a box of cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can’t wait to open them and see what you’ve made! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Every card I receive is a special gift for a child! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you for supporting our work with SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Please be sure to take a look at our SAS4Kids challenge blog! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope if you don’t send us cards, that you are finding some great inspiration here! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Please come back again for some more great cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Doodle Pantry, Send A Smile 4 Kids, Valentines

It was a rough two weeks with the 4 grandkids home from school!ย  But we all survived and now it’s back to work for me, minus the distractions;)ย  lol

I have one card today, it’s a Valentine for two different challenges:)ย  The first is our own SAS4Kids challenge blog where it’s Valentines or Love Cards 4 Kids!

The second,ย  ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 13, is sponsoring the current challenge at SAS4Kids! So here’s my card:

1aSDC18793A nice simply made card:) For the main image I used the Doodle Pantry set, With Heart.ย  The brown paper is digital paper from the set.ย  I printed it on Canon Matte Photo Paper, it’s thick, almost like cardstock.ย  I printed it and waited for a little while, and then embossed it with a folder from Stampin’ up! called, Happy Heart.

Then after embossing, I used a paper nail file to just lift off the tops of some of the hearts leaving white exposed.ย  From Stampin’ Up! I also used their Hearts Border punch, Real Red cardstock and a stamp that I don’t remember what set it came out of.ย  The stamp was used out of a set and not returned properly:( ย  My goal was to make a card that could be used by either a boy or girl;)

Now, on to a guest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m featuring Ruby Haugen from MN today:)ย  Ruby sent in two boxes of cards separately.ย  One box is all Winter themed cards, and the second box is Valentines! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I really want to share the Winter themed cards because they’re all my favorite color, blue! ๐Ÿ™‚ so lets see what Ruby has sent in for our kids at SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOoooh, I love blue, especially blue snow, I don’t know why:)ย  Ruby colors her images with colored pencils.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are all just great!ย  I love the papers, and layouts! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t think Ruby sent any copies, I believe she sent all one of a kinds:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese last two are a little bit teal colored, still in the blue family, love them! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  These are all great examples of Winter cards!ย  But you could also add Happy Birthday to some of these cards, or thinking of you.ย  Ruby put a lot of love in these cards and it shows! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Ruby! ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m going to save Ruby’s Valentines until my next post.ย  I’ve been trying to do this during the hours the kids aren’t sleeping, big mistake:(

Thanks for coming by today, be sure and check out the blogs that I’ve linked! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Also please check out the two new Stampin’ Up! catalogs near the top on the right:)ย  There’s is a big sale going on! ๐Ÿ™‚

Please come visit again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #181 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

It’s been a busy week for me here!ย  The kids are off school for 5 days!ย  I’ve been busy filling my boxes to ship to my three hospitals!ย  It will be Christmas before you know it!ย  If only January and February would fly by so fast!;)ย  I haven’t had much time for making cards, but I looked at the Merry Monday #181 challenge and I had a card sitting on my desk that I hadn’t blogged yet, and it’s blue! ๐Ÿ™‚

181So here it is and I will be entering it over at Merry Monday #181๐Ÿ™‚

aSDC18214A friend of mine sent me the tree branches and the blue trees (triangles).ย  I love the colors! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I used some Stampin’ Up! Marina Mist cardstock and ink.ย  The embossing folder is also Stampin’ Up! (retired).ย  I used some sequins from Stampin’ Up! that I got last Christmas, and a misc. stamp I had in my stash.ย  I love this card and I know just who I’m going to send it to, but it won’t be SAS4Kids, I have a personal use for this card;)

Now, I have some guest cards to share with you:)ย  These cards were all sent in to me to share with my hospitals for Send A Smile 4 Kids๐Ÿ™‚ย  My first guest is a new sender for me, Lee Mae Elkins from the state ofย  WA ๐Ÿ™‚

Look at these fun cards, I love the images, papers and layouts, simple but very effective! ๐Ÿ™‚

More fun cards, and look at the beaver card!ย  It’s a great example of a Winter themed card, that’s not Christmas:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAIt looks like Lee Mae has used Glossy Accents or something like it on quite a few of her cards.ย  A lot of her images are shiny and raised a little, very nice touch! ๐Ÿ™‚

These dinos are so cute for Christmas!ย  I love the fox with it’s mug of, I’m sure, hot chocolate! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Lee Mae for sharing all of these wonderful cards with our kids at SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

My next guest has sent me many cards for my hospitals, Janelle Klapperich from SD:)ย  I had made a special request and Janelle came through for me! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I had asked for cards with no embellishments and these cards are perfect! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJanelle had put buttons on some of her cards and I asked if she would add paper buttons instead.ย  You can see some here on the snowman’s scarf:)ย  The second set is perfect as well, great for “not so young” kids and also flat! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJanelle had made some of these for me previously, using real buttons, and she replaced them with small black paper buttons:)ย  This is a Stampin’ Up! paper from last year.ย  When it came out, I wasn’t that fond of it, but Janelle has shown me a number of ways to make this paper really shine:)ย  I love both these cards, great for teens with lots of texture, but still flat! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thank you Janelle for helping me out with my special request! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I have other senders who will also do special requests, I have wonderful cardmakers! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope if you’re still making Christmas cards, you’ve gotten some ideas! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope you come by again soon for more inspiration! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Please go by and check out the SAS4Kids challenge blog, this week is Anything goes for Kids:)

Friday Mashup #234, Fred She Said & SAS4Kids

Here I am again with lots of cards to share! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First is the card I’ll be entering in the Friday Mashup #234.

This week’s Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the colors Mint, Pool, White and Slate
  • Create a project with a Winter theme .
  • or Mash it Up!ย and create aย project using the a Winter theme and the Colors above.

I’ve not been doing real well with the color challenges this year, so I choose the Winter theme:)

a18267I love this new image from Fred She Said, it’s called Dancing Penguin DIGI & COL! ๐Ÿ™‚ ย ย ย

I’ve actually made a number of cards with this image and it was hard to pick just one to enter.ย  I’ll show you one more and save the rest for later;)

a18218I love both of these cards!ย  The little penguin is sooo cute!ย  This card I made with a strip of Stampin’ Up! specialty paper called Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.ย  This whole set of papers is beautiful! ๐Ÿ™‚

The first card I made with Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Basic Black.ย  I used a misc. stamp that I had laying around.ย  The striped paper is from ESTY, from a seller called The Little Llama. I’ve bought digital paper from her before that I love!ย  If you need a link, just let me know:)ย  I’m always happy to answer questions or receive comments! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now I would like to move on to a guest that sent in cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m happy to show cards from Diane Herniman from Canada:) Diane is a repeat sender, and her cards are very different than most:)ย ย  Diane makes all her own envelopes, and she really almost has to, a lot of her cards are large! ๐Ÿ™‚

On top is the back, Diane says to not use the back is just a waste of space!ย  I’m sure the kids appreciate the games and puzzles Diane puts on the back of all her cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAYou need to click on this last one to see how beautiful the paper is she used! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOn top, there is the back and the center.ย  On the left is the envelope, isn’t it cute?!ย  And finally the front, with a photo of one of Diane’s dogs:)ย  Thank you Diane for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

My second guest is a repeat sender also, her name is Nanci Simmons:)ย  Nanci sent in multiples of her cards:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANanci sent some in with ribbon before with these shapes, but these are different.ย  She used stamps and papers this time instead of ribbon:)ย  Look at these cute owls and penguins, the kids are going to love these! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese will be great for older kids or for the kids to share with their parents or staff! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Nanci for sharing with our kids for Christmas! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope you’ll come back soon for more wonderful cards to inspire you! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Be sure to check out the Friday Mashup and the SAS4Kids blog challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #175 & SAS4Kids

I got another card done, only took me three days! lolย  With all that goes on here, it’s a wonder I ever get a card done!ย  I’m actually working 3 different cards that are kind of the same, only not, if you know what I mean;)ย  Anyway….I did finish one of them and I thought I would enter it in the challenge over at Merry Monday #175, and it’s done before the last day, yay! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Here is their challenge for this week:

Merry Monday #175aSDC17953Hmmm, now that I’m looking at it here, it looks like I followed the photo almost like a sketch.ย  That’s really strange, because the other cards I’m working on are totally different.ย  I chose this one because my granddaughters voted, they liked the plaid moose ๐Ÿ˜‰ lolย  I did too, it was not intentional on my part:)

I used two different digital images from Esty.ย  The background which is the trees with the tan color, and the plaid moose.ย  I added a small “snow” covering at the bottom from just some torn cardstock.ย  That layer was added to a Stampin’ Up! Real Red that was embossed with the Stampin’ Up! Tulip Embossing Folder.ย  Finally I put the whole thing onto a white card base.ย  I think it looks even better in hand;)ย  This card will be going into a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids, as will all the cards I showcase today! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, that means I have a guest today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Janelle Klapperich is from SD, she has sent many cards before to be shared with our kids at SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I believe Janelle has told me before what cutting machine she is using, but today, I can’t remember:(ย ย  I guess I should have written it down, maybe she’ll let us know:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOMGoodness, I have seen so many cute cards since volunteering for SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook how adorable these are, the kids are going to love all of these! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAJanelle has used great papers with her cute images!ย  These trees are gorgeous for and older child or a parent! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI will have more of Janelle’s Christmas cards in a later post.ย  I thought I would show these two Fall cards to end with.ย  These are both just beautiful!ย  I love the papers, sentiments and the beautiful leaf embellishments!ย  I will still be sending out Fall and Thanksgiving cards for a while ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thank you Janelle for your wonderful cards and for thinking of our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Send A Smile 4 Kids has it’s own challenge blog that you can visit here for more ideas, or add your own card for a chance to win a prize! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope you’ve enjoyed the cards and will come back soon to see more! ๐Ÿ™‚

Merry Monday #170 and SAS4Kids

I’m back with one of my own cards and a guest cardmaker who sends cards to me for Send A Smile 4 Kids๐Ÿ™‚ย  My card is going to be entered into the challenge over at Merry Monday #170 ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I think I’m even early this time because it’s a two week challenge for Sept. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  This challenge is to use Holly on your card.

aSDC17419For my card, I used a beautiful image from Fred She Said called, Poinsettia & Holly Pre-Coloured Set. It comes with red flowers or white, and a number of different versions:)ย  I used Stampin’ Up! products to finish off my card.ย  Real Red cardstock for my base, Hand-Penned Holidays (retired) stamp set, Dazzling Details on the flower centers, and Crystal Effects on the berries to give it some depth and shine:)ย  I finished my card with the gold embossed sentiment.ย  Yes, I still use a Stamp-a-ma-jig;)

aSDC17421Here’s a closer look, the flower centers are sparlky, it’s hard to tell about the berries, but it’s easy to see in hand:)ย  This card will be going into a box for SAS4Kids because we try to send enough cards at Christmas for the kids to give cards to their parents or caregivers:)

Now for my guest I have Janelle Klapperich:)ย  I’ve shown cards by Janelle before, she has great cards with lots of different designs:)ย  Today I have some misc. cards and some Halloween.

Aren’t these cute?!ย  I know, I say that all the time, but I just love kids cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m sure these are made with a cutting machine, but I don’t know which one, maybe Janelle will let us know:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo cards that I know were made with Stampin’ Up! products!ย  Work of Art stamp set, and Wetlands stamp set.ย  I love the colors Janelle used! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAMore Stampin’ Up! products:)ย  Just changing out a little and making them different:)

Merry Monday #169, SAS4Kids & Stampin’ Up! sneak peek

OMGoodness, it feels like forever since I made a post! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I have been so busy with school starting and everything that goes with it!ย  But, today, I have a card I made, and a guest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  So we’ll get right down to business! ๐Ÿ™‚

I made my card for Merry Monday #169.ย  The challenge is to use Light Green, Dark Green and Red:)ย  I will also enter it into the challenge blog over at Send A Smile 4 Kids, which this week is “Anything Goes”๐Ÿ™‚

169My card is using some brand new products from Stampin’ Up! that will be available Sept. 1, 2015! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  If you would be interested the new catalog or any of the products you see here, please email me at bspruce2000@yahoo.com:)

abSDC17305This card is made with the new Jingle All the Way stamp set and the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I bought them as a bundle and saved 15%! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, also come with, as you might guess, another die with a horse and sleigh.ย  I actually combined two different edgelits on one line for my card.ย  I also used a new Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.ย  The sentiment is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set, and yes, it’s curved:)

I used the little house edgelet on the left and cut it from Whisper White, then I colored it with my Stampin’ Write Real Red Marker.ย  On the right, I used the tree edgelit and cut the trees from Garden Green.ย  I just cut the trees and a small extra piece that I used to glue my trees to the house card stock.ย  I topped it off with some Stampin’ Up! Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine (retired).ย  I’m very please with how this turned out! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I actually got the idea for this card from the new Holiday Catalog;)ย  You can find the stamp set and the dies on page 12 of the new catalog:)ย  The embossing folder is on the top left of page 24:)

Is it Halloween yet?ย  Well, you’re going to think so when you see the next cards by my guest, Karen Peterson! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Karen is from NE and she has used some card kits from Paper Wishes.ย  I don’t know anything about Paper Wishes, except that Karen sends in some really great cards for our kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Isn’t this a great card?!ย  The top photo is the front with the card closed, then I took a photo of the side view open.ย  Finally I took a photo of the inside that you can see from looking at the front open.ย  It’s an advanced easel card, I think it will be a great teen card.ย  I don’t think it’s too scary, what do you think?

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s an envelope made with stickers, I love it! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  It goes with the next card.

I love this card, do you think it’s too scary?ย  I think it’s fine for a teen, not for a younger one.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the inside and the front of another card:)ย  Hmmm, now that I’m seeing them here, they all look like teen cards:)ย  Not to worry, I know I’m getting more Halloween cards very soon! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m usually very short on teen cards, so these are great!ย  Thank you so much Karen for supporting our kids and our work through Send A Smile 4 Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

That’s all I have for today, but I hope to be back soon with more Fall/Halloween cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I’m always thankful for your interest! ๐Ÿ™‚
