Freshly Made Sketches #295 & Guests

It’s been busy around here but I found time to make a card! πŸ™‚Β  I’m glad you could join us for some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  I’m back with another card for Freshly Made Sketchs #295.Β  Here is their sketch for this week.

FMS Final 295-001

Here is my card for this week πŸ™‚

Yes, another card for the kids we serve at Send A Smile 4 Kids πŸ™‚Β  I used an adorable pre-colored digi from Fred She Said called “Emma in the Leaves Coloured“.Β  You can also get it uncolored in the section named Autumn.Β  I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, and Crushed Curry.Β  I also used the Stampin’ Up! Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.Β  Included in the set are circles, squares and ovals.Β  I do have some buttons shaped like leaves, but couldn’t find them, so I used some foiled leave that I found in my stash πŸ™‚

I like having Seasonal cards with different sentiments for the kids.Β  There’s more going on in every Season besides a holiday or Birthday! πŸ˜‰Β  You can add encouraging words, general sentiments, as well as Happy Fall, Happy Halloween,Merry Christmas, etc.

I have guest cards today to share, I know everyone likes to see what everyone else is making! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Jill Blasche of TX πŸ™‚Β  Jill makes and sends in lots of cards! πŸ™‚

Thank you Jill for this wide variety of wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  Jill sent multiples of most of these cards! πŸ™‚Β  A lot of cards for our Peds ICU!

Next I have Vicki Luebke of IN πŸ™‚Β  Vicki also sends lots of cards and specializes in sending Encouragement cards! πŸ™‚Β  Not sure what to send as an Encouragement card?Β  Look at some of these sentiments πŸ™‚

The little boy with the frog is also Fred She Said, it’s called “Nolan & The Bullfrog“.Β  Thank you Vicki for these great cards for our boys and girls! πŸ™‚

Lastly I have cards from Dr. Robin Hayworth of NY πŸ™‚Β  Robyn has sent many cards πŸ™‚

Robin doesn’t just send to me, I’ve seen thank yous on our gratitude page.Β  Robin is sending to several of our volunteers! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Robin for your dedication to our kids, with your beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

Lots of variety today for just about everyone! πŸ™‚Β  I’d like to thank, not just these three ladies, but all of my donors for their wonderful cards and their inspiration to me! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #289 and SAS4Kids

I’m back, today I have guest cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids, and a card for Freshly Made Sketches #289.Β  So off we go with the sketch for Freshly Made πŸ™‚

FMS Final 289-001

Here is my card:

For this card I used some images from Fred She Said’s store called Daisies & LadyBugs.Β  Right now she has brand new butterflies! πŸ™‚Β  There are lots of options in her sets.Β  Here I used a cloud background in JPG format.Β  The flower and ladybugs are PNGs.Β  The JPG format has a white background, the PNGs have a clear background so you can layer your images.

I fussy cut the flower including the ladybugs and left it hang over the left side and bottom of the cloud background I cut in a square.Β  I think this will make a really cute card for one of our kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids πŸ™‚

Now we have Father’s Day cards sent in by our SAS4Kids donors! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Diane Herniman from Canada πŸ™‚

The insides and the backs of Diane’s cards are always decorated too!Β  Thank you Diane for your continued support of our kids in the hospital ! πŸ™‚

Now some cards from Brenda Zellner of WI πŸ™‚Β  Brenda has done an awesome job of taking the same images and making them look different! πŸ™‚

Oh, my, I see I’ve done it again 😦  My hands are getting shaky and my eyes are not as good as they used to be, I can see in some of my photos today, that they are a littleΒ Β  blurry 😦  I look at every one of these when I put the names on them, apparently my eyes are getting bad enough that I don’t see the blurry ones until I post them here 😦  I’m so sorry, please forgive me.Β  I’m going to have to dig out my tripod 😦

Thank you Brenda for these wonderful Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  I love how you used the same image more than once! πŸ™‚

On to Tammy Gullett of IA πŸ™‚

Tammy sent in multiples of her cards as well using the same images but different backgrounds πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Tammy, I’m so glad you were able to make some cards! πŸ™‚Β  Please take care of yourself! πŸ™‚

Donna Wakefield is next, she has a blog, you can visit here here πŸ™‚

Thank you Donna for these great cards for kids to share with their dads! πŸ™‚Β  Thanks for taking my challenge of sending at least 10 cards! πŸ™‚

Lastly I have Jill Blasche of TX, and her card making friend, Jan Kloss, also of TX πŸ™‚Β  I don’t know how far they live apart, but they get together and make cards for our kids, what could be more fun ? πŸ™‚

Jill Blasche

Ok, now I know these cards were not blurry on the preview page, but the last two are blurry here 😦  Try clicking on the blurry images.Β  The plane cards are beautiful, I’d like for you to really see them!

Jan Kloss

Jan sent multiples of each of these cards πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill and Jan for the wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  I’m so glad you can get together, have fun and share what you make with our kids! πŸ™‚

I want to thank all of “my” card makers for continuing to support such a good cause! πŸ™‚Β  Even though I make fewer cards now, I really enjoy receiving boxes and sorting your cards into boxes for my hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  You are all so talented and generous, the world is a better place because of you! πŸ™‚

If you’re just stopping by for some inspiration, I hope you found something that you might be able make! πŸ™‚Β  There is plenty of inspiration here for next year as well ! πŸ™‚

I hope everyone is enjoying their Memorial Day weekend ! πŸ™‚Β  Please remember those who have fought and fallen to preserve our way of life!

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #231 & SAS4Kids

I started feeling much better this week after taking some antibiotics! πŸ™‚Β  No one knows what was exactly wrong, but the meds worked, YAY! πŸ™‚

Today I have a card I made for Freshly Made Sketches #231.Β  I will also enter it into our own Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge, which is For Moms or Special Females from kids:)

FMS Final 231-001SDC19882

Yes, I stay pretty close to the sketches;)Β  you’re probably thinking I cut the two pieces on the right.Β  Nope, I actually cut two very small strips of black.Β  I should have added one on the left of my image too, I still may, before sending to one of my hospitals πŸ™‚

The back is black, on top of that is my background image.Β  I should have taken a photo because it’s not a very wide image and what I did was put one image on the left and the other on the right and there is white in the center.Β  You only see one image that way.Β  The background image is from PC Hugware.Β  They’re no longer in business:(Β  But, you can get the cute Nolan & the BullFrog from Fred She Said! πŸ™‚

I was reminded of this image by my daughter telling her kids the other day how her and her brothers went fishing one year and when they came home they knocked on the door.Β  When I went to the door, they had this big bull frog right in my face, made me jump! lol Right away I thought of little Nolan taking his mom a bull frog for Mother’s Day πŸ™‚

The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Teeny Tiny Wishes πŸ™‚

Ok, that’s enough from me, I have two guests today, the first is Ann Merkins of MN πŸ™‚

You really need to click on these and make them bigger! πŸ™‚Β  Ann has told me she makes these cards with napkins!Β  She didn’t tell me how she does it though:(Β  They’re sparkly! πŸ™‚

I have never seen napkins this pretty in my life! πŸ™‚Β  They really make beautiful cards! πŸ™‚

The card on the far left is so beautiful, the colors are stunning!Β  I really like the card on the far right too! πŸ™‚Β  Ann made several quilt cards in different colors and designs, they’re all beautiful! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Ann for such wonderful cards for our kids to share with their moms! πŸ™‚

Next I have Janelle Klapperich of SD πŸ™‚

You all know I love when you use the same papers, layouts or images in different ways! πŸ™‚ The two cards on the left look really different, even though they’re basically the same πŸ˜‰Β  Now I could split these up and send to two different hospitals, but I don’t think it would matter, even if they were on the same floor πŸ˜‰

Janelle uses a lot of Stampin’ Up! products! πŸ™‚Β  All three of the cards to the right are made with Botanical Blooms, stamp and die bundle.Β  Also the one above with the yellow flower πŸ™‚Β  It’s still available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Occasions Catalog until May 31st! πŸ™‚Β  Yes, I do sell Stampin’ Up!, I just don’t push anyone to buy it πŸ˜‰

I didn’t buy this set, because I didn’t care for the examples I had seen 😦  If I had seen Janelle’s examples I would have had this already! πŸ™‚Β  The green card in the center is gorgeous!Β Β  Janelle did such a great job, you should enlarge it πŸ˜‰

Here’s a peek at some Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  More Stampin’ Up! products! πŸ™‚Β  These are all great Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚Β  I really love the plane, and I have that set! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Janelle for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I’m sure the dads will be thrilled! πŸ™‚

Well, I’m off to bed, I won’t stay well if I don’t get my sleep!Β  It snowed here last night and was still on the grass this morning!Β  I hope you all are having some better weather! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I hope you all have a great week and come back again soon! πŸ™‚

The Friday Mashup #242, Valentines

Hmmm, I was hoping that when I came back, so would the “old” way to add a post.Β  No such luck:(Β  I’m forging ahead with the “new” way to add a blog post, so I hope it goes faster than last time:)

Welcome back! πŸ™‚ I have another card and I have a guest as well:)Β  So first off, I have my card that I made for the Friday Mashup #242.

The Mashup Challenge this week is:
  • Create a project for your Valentine.
  • Create a project featuring a Candy image.
  • or Mash it Up!! and create a V-day Candy themed project

I didn’t take this photo straight on so it looks a little strange, at least to me;)Β  Everything is actually straight and even:)Β  I made this card with Stampin’ Up! Gorgeous Grunge (retired), Rose Red & Blushing Bride ink, and a stamp that I know is Stampin’ Up!, but I’m not sure of the set.

The main image is from Fred She Said called Valentine’s Day-Better than Chocolate.Β  Behind the heart, I used Baked Brown Sugar, and the background cardstock is Blushing Bride, both by Stampin’ Up!Β  A little different from me, but I love the finished card! πŸ™‚

My guest today is a repeat sender, Vicki Luebke of IN:)Β  Vicki sent a few Valentine’s in this box, but mostly she sent Winter themed cards:)Β  Because I made a card with Fred She Said today, I’m going to show you her Winter cards because she also used a lot of Fred She Said images:)

All of the Fred She Said images are listing in the shop under Christmas, here is the main link:)

Aren’t these cute?!Β  I love when the same image is used in different ways!Β  This is called Emma the Skating Elf.Β  I also love that she used 4 of the 6 colors available in the set! πŸ™‚

On the left is Emma the Snow Angel.Β  This was a special request by me for Tracey the shop owner, wasn’t that sweet of her?!Β  I love it! πŸ™‚Β  On the right is Catchin’ Flakes, this one reminds me of my brother when he was small:)

The image on the left is Hat Tipping Snowman, and the one on the right is Winter Westie.Β  Most of these sets also come with the plain digi that you can color yourself:)Β  Vicki has done a great job with her designs! Even though the snowmen have the same layout, they look very different:)Β  All of these cards are great! Even if they went to kids in the same hospital on the same unit, each child would feel they have a special card!

I have a lot of FSS images!Β  I think this is the first image I bought, and it’s still my favorite, this is Emma the Hugger! I, myself, have used this image many times, it just makes me happy! πŸ™‚

I have a few more from Vicki I’d like to share:)

Vicki does an excellent job of making encouraging cards, and they’re so cute! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these adorable?!Β  I believe all these images are from Dollar Graphics Depot.Β  All of their images are only one dollar!Β  I love Vicki’s clean and simple designs! πŸ™‚

These are the last images for Vicki today.Β  Both of these images are rubber stamps from Stampin’ Up! (retired).Β  Thank you Vicki for sharing your talents with our kids!Β  All of these cards will be donated to hospitals through Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Thank you to Vicki and all card makers who make and send cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, even if you don’t send cards, I hope you’ve gotten some inspiration for your own cards! πŸ™‚Β  Hope to see you again soon! πŸ™‚

Friday Mashup #234, Fred She Said & SAS4Kids

Here I am again with lots of cards to share! πŸ™‚Β  First is the card I’ll be entering in the Friday Mashup #234.

This week’s Mashup Challenge:
  • Create a project using the colors Mint, Pool, White and Slate
  • Create a project with a Winter theme .
  • or Mash it Up!Β and create aΒ project using the a Winter theme and the Colors above.

I’ve not been doing real well with the color challenges this year, so I choose the Winter theme:)

a18267I love this new image from Fred She Said, it’s called Dancing Penguin DIGI & COL! πŸ™‚ Β Β Β

I’ve actually made a number of cards with this image and it was hard to pick just one to enter.Β  I’ll show you one more and save the rest for later;)

a18218I love both of these cards!Β  The little penguin is sooo cute!Β  This card I made with a strip of Stampin’ Up! specialty paper called Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.Β  This whole set of papers is beautiful! πŸ™‚

The first card I made with Stampin’ Up! Real Red and Basic Black.Β  I used a misc. stamp that I had laying around.Β  The striped paper is from ESTY, from a seller called The Little Llama. I’ve bought digital paper from her before that I love!Β  If you need a link, just let me know:)Β  I’m always happy to answer questions or receive comments! πŸ™‚

Now I would like to move on to a guest that sent in cards for Send A Smile 4 KidsπŸ™‚Β  I’m happy to show cards from Diane Herniman from Canada:) Diane is a repeat sender, and her cards are very different than most:)Β Β  Diane makes all her own envelopes, and she really almost has to, a lot of her cards are large! πŸ™‚

On top is the back, Diane says to not use the back is just a waste of space!Β  I’m sure the kids appreciate the games and puzzles Diane puts on the back of all her cards! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAYou need to click on this last one to see how beautiful the paper is she used! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOn top, there is the back and the center.Β  On the left is the envelope, isn’t it cute?!Β  And finally the front, with a photo of one of Diane’s dogs:)Β  Thank you Diane for sharing these wonderful cards with our kids! πŸ™‚

My second guest is a repeat sender also, her name is Nanci Simmons:)Β  Nanci sent in multiples of her cards:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANanci sent some in with ribbon before with these shapes, but these are different.Β  She used stamps and papers this time instead of ribbon:)Β  Look at these cute owls and penguins, the kids are going to love these! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese will be great for older kids or for the kids to share with their parents or staff! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Nanci for sharing with our kids for Christmas! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope you’ll come back soon for more wonderful cards to inspire you! πŸ™‚Β  Be sure to check out the Friday Mashup and the SAS4Kids blog challenge! πŸ™‚

Merry Monday #178 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

Sorry I’ve only had one post this week:(Β  I didn’t really see any challenges that I wanted to do, and Christmas cards are trickling in:(Β  Today, I finally got my act together and made a card for Merry Monday #178πŸ™‚

178I don’t know what’s wrong with me, this challenge seems like it would be so easy, but I just couldn’t think of anything to do:(Β  Today I had an idea, I think my problem is, I keep thinking of my hospital that requested no embellishments.Β  I look at the other entries and examples and see ribbon, and gems and sequins, and I can’t use any of that.Β  So, I had an idea for a flat card, I hope you like it:)

aSDC18200I made this card with Peel Offs.Β  If you’ve never seen them, they are sticker outlines.Β  A lot of people put them on other papers and then cut them out.Β  Or, I’ve seen them on white cardstock that’s been colored or painted.Β  I put my Peel Offs straight on Stampin’ Up! Real Red and backed it with Stampin’ Up! Champagne Glimmer Paper.Β  The base cardstock is also Real Red, and I mounted the whole thing on top of a sturdy white card base:)Β  It looks more elegant in hand than in the photo. I’m pleased with it and I hope one of the kids will like it or like it enough to share with their parents:)

Now for some guests that have sent in Christmas already! πŸ™‚Β  I actually show them in the order they were received.Β  I keep a big log book with the names of my card senders, the date they sent in cards, how many, and I take a photo of as many cards as I can fit in one photo, to keep track of who sends what for Send A Smile 4 KidsπŸ™‚Β  First guest today will be Nanci Simmons of FL.Β  Nanci has sent cards before and actually has another entry already in my log book! πŸ™‚Β  Here are some of her cards from the 10/21 box:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANanci sent multiples ofΒ  each of these cards, that are all a little bit different:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACan you see the ribbon?Β  Nancy makes a lot of these type cards with shapes and ribbons:)Β  I love them, and I’m sure the kids do too! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Nanci! πŸ™‚Β  I will be showing more of Nanci’s cards in a future post:)

Next I have Vicki Luebke of IN.Β  Vicki has also sent cards before for the kids! πŸ™‚Β  Vicki sent in some Fall cards and these great Christmas cards!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAYou might be thinking my camera is not showing the right color.Β  But it’s right, this is a different kind of color for Christmas, but it’s actually really pretty.Β  I love all of these cards, great images and layouts! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a great card, and I asked, I can send this type of card to my “no embellishment” hospital:)Β  Nice image and papers by Stampin’ Up!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are some nice cards with images from Fred She Said.Β  I love when you can show the same image with two different layouts! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Vicki! πŸ™‚

One last guest today, Sandy Borsheim from MN:)Β  Sandy has only sent cards to me personally once before, but I believe she has sent to SAS4Kids before:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are great cards that I can send to one of my hospitals that is the onlyΒ  hospital SAS4Kids serves that accepts religious cards.Β  I love all of these! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAIt’s amazing to me that I can get so many cards, and they are all so different! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAA lot of Sandy’s cards are flat so I will be able to use some of them for my “no embellishment” hospital:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASandy has also sent multiples of some of her cards:)Β  Thank you Sandy for the get selection! πŸ™‚

A big thank you to all of my cardmakers and everyone who takes the time to send in cards for the kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids!!Β  Check out the SAS4Kids challenge blog page, this week starts Happy Holidays 4 Kids!Β  You have two weeks to make and submit a card for this challenge.Β  If you like, send the cards to our volunteers to share with our kids! πŸ™‚

Thank you all for stopping by today! πŸ™‚Β  I’m thankful for your interest! πŸ™‚Β  Hope to see you again soon! πŸ™‚

Tis’ The Season…#52, Christmas that is

This week I mailed out to my hospitals, all my Halloween boxes of cards for Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  I will still be accepting Thanksgiving and Fall cards, but it’s time to get in the mood for Christmas cards! πŸ™‚Β  It may seem early, but we need cards not just for the kids, but for the kids to give to their parents, siblings, favorite staff members! πŸ™‚Β  That’s a lot of Christmas cards! πŸ˜‰Β  Of course, there are the every day cards that can be made with Winter themes and colors! πŸ™‚Β  I love Christmas, I hope you do too! πŸ™‚

And, I made a Christmas card! πŸ™‚Β  I’m going to enter it over at Tis’ The Season….#52.Β  I’ve never entered a challenge at TTS, so this should be fun! πŸ™‚Β  Their challenge is Christmas all year, this week they have a sketch.

ts52fFor those of you who know me, you will be surprised that I didn’t follow the sketch exactly, but I’m not far off;)

SDC17912You may also be surprised that I made a square card.Β  I almost never make square cards, but this design just worked out better that way:)Β  No, I didn’t make the bokeh by hand:(Β  I bought it on Esty, I’m not sure where, sorry:(Β  But I love it!Β  The vine is from Memory Box, as well as the ornament and the ornament background shape.Β  You may not be able to see it well, but the ornament was cut from Stampin’ Up! Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper, it’s beautiful! πŸ™‚

The ornament background was cut from Stampin’ Up! Red Foil Sheets, they’re in the new holiday catalog.Β  I also cut the berries from the Red Foil using my Owl Builder Punch.Β  The Owl Builder punch has so many uses, it’s amazing!Β  The Holly is also a Memory Box die, and I used Stampin’ Up! Garden Green. The silver ribbon is also Stampin’ Up!

I’m very thrilled the way it turned out, especially since I was going to go another way at the beginning.Β  I couldn’t find the die I wanted to use, so I went with another die, and the whole concept changed:)Β  Life is just full of surprises! πŸ™‚

Now, I have even more inspiration for you with some guests!Β  First up is Vicki Luebke of IN!Β  Vicki is a repeat sender, and I love the way she makes cards that can easily go into an envelope and be mailed! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI actually love when cardmakers use the same papers and change the layouts and/or images! πŸ™‚Β  I love all of these, they’re so cute!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese 4 cards are all Fred She Said images, I love FSS! πŸ™‚Β  Here’s the store link for Emma the Hugger, but you can scroll through the Christmas list and find all of these images! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Vicki for all these wonderful Christmas cards! πŸ™‚Β  I know they’ll be loved whatever hospital gets them! πŸ™‚

Next I have Alissa McKinney from IN also:)Β  This is the first time Alissa has sent in cards to us, but she’s off to a good start!Β  Alissa has told me she bought a Silhouette Portrait, and she buys cards online to cut out her images.Β  I have a vague idea how this works, so I hope you understand:)

Alissa has used lots of designs and bright colors, perfect for kids!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these cute?!Β  Mugs of Coco and a fun Santa.Β  All of the main images are popped up.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAll of Alissa’s images are colorful and fun, but wait for the next ones!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at all these fun Santas enjoying the sunshine on the beach!Β  These are so cute!Β  I think the kids will have a good laugh when they image Santa taking a break from his work to go to the beach!Β  Thank you so much Alissa for these great cards!Β  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! πŸ™‚

Now because it is still Fall, I want to end with a few Fall cards also using Fred She Said images.Β  These cards are made by a repeat sender, Holly Blaskie from MI:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the link for Emma in the Leaves, that’s the one with the leaves in the air.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere is the link for Raking, I love both of these images and have used them quite a bit myself! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Holly for these great Fall cards for the kids, I know they’ll enjoy them! πŸ™‚

All of these cards will be going into boxes for Send A Smile 4 Kids!Β  Thank you to all the cardmakers who make this possible for the kids! πŸ™‚Β  SAS4Kids also has a challenge blog where you can enter a card or just check out what others are making! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I’m thankful for your interest, even if you don’t send in cards;)Β  I hope you come again to see more cards for inspiration! πŸ™‚

UPDATES Merry Monday #170 and Fred She Said Sale

I have a couple updates for the blog post below this one:)Β  This is what Janelle had to say about her cards:

The cutting machine I use is a Cricut, and the woobly things behind the ghosts are called action wobble springs.Β  I purchased them at Hobby Lobby–package of 6 for $3.50 or so.Β

This is what Tracey had to say about her Fred She Said Sale.Β  Fred She Said is one of the sponsors over at Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Hey all!

I had a customer have a problem with the discount code expiring.Β  It seems the setup I have to now use to make discounts sets the expiry date one day earlier to what I set it at.Β  I can’t make rhyme nor reason of it.Β  I am so sorry if this created any inconvenience for anybody.Β

I have extended the sale to SEPT 7th midnight EDT… which actually means I take the coupon down the next morning ( SEP 8) while I drink my coffee, so this kind of thing doesn’t happen again :S

For email orders, add the code to the text of your email order request. Online orders – there will be a plaee to apply the code when you checkout.Β Β
Note: if you decide to add more stuff to your cart after you apply the discount code, please delete the code and reapply it to reflect accurate discount when checking out.
:)*Β  Fred
I’ll be back soon with more cards! πŸ™‚

Merry Monday #170 and SAS4Kids

I’m back with one of my own cards and a guest cardmaker who sends cards to me for Send A Smile 4 KidsπŸ™‚Β  My card is going to be entered into the challenge over at Merry Monday #170 πŸ™‚Β  I think I’m even early this time because it’s a two week challenge for Sept. πŸ™‚Β  This challenge is to use Holly on your card.

aSDC17419For my card, I used a beautiful image from Fred She Said called, Poinsettia & Holly Pre-Coloured Set. It comes with red flowers or white, and a number of different versions:)Β  I used Stampin’ Up! products to finish off my card.Β  Real Red cardstock for my base, Hand-Penned Holidays (retired) stamp set, Dazzling Details on the flower centers, and Crystal Effects on the berries to give it some depth and shine:)Β  I finished my card with the gold embossed sentiment.Β  Yes, I still use a Stamp-a-ma-jig;)

aSDC17421Here’s a closer look, the flower centers are sparlky, it’s hard to tell about the berries, but it’s easy to see in hand:)Β  This card will be going into a box for SAS4Kids because we try to send enough cards at Christmas for the kids to give cards to their parents or caregivers:)

Now for my guest I have Janelle Klapperich:)Β  I’ve shown cards by Janelle before, she has great cards with lots of different designs:)Β  Today I have some misc. cards and some Halloween.

Aren’t these cute?!Β  I know, I say that all the time, but I just love kids cards! πŸ™‚Β  I’m sure these are made with a cutting machine, but I don’t know which one, maybe Janelle will let us know:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATwo cards that I know were made with Stampin’ Up! products!Β  Work of Art stamp set, and Wetlands stamp set.Β  I love the colors Janelle used! πŸ™‚

I love all the Fall colors and papers!Β  Janelle has great matching skills! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese little ghosts are so cute, they are on some kind of spring thingy (technical term), and they wobble! πŸ™‚Β  The kids are going to love these! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother great example of changing it a little to make it different! πŸ™‚Β  Look at that awesome spider web on the right card, that’s a new Stampin’ Up! product from the Holiday catalog! πŸ™‚Β  You can see it on the right sidebar near the top:)

Freshly Made #199, Friday Mashup #221, SAS4Kids

Hi everyone, I’ve been busy, as always! πŸ™‚Β  The kids start school this week, so they’re taking time today to be especially loud!Β  It will probably take me hours to get this posted!Β  Oh, what fun! πŸ˜‰Β  Right now we are listening to two different types of music, kids songs and Christmas music! lolΒ  Never a dull moment here! πŸ˜‰

I have a guest with me today, Nanci Simmons from FL:)Β  I’ll be showing her cards after I post mine:)Β  I’m going to be posting my card to three different challenges, a first for me! πŸ™‚Β  I usually post one card for each challenge, but I’m pressed for time this week:(

The challenges I will be entering are:Β  Freshly Made Sketches #199.

The Friday Mashup #221.

FM221Here’s your Mashup Challenge :

  • Create a project using shades ofΒ Dijon, Olive, Razzleberry.
  • Create a project inspired by Summer Flowers.
  • or Mash it Up! and create a “Summer Flowers Project using the colors above.

And Send A Smile 4 Kids, Clean and Simple Challenge.

That’s a big job for one little CAS card!

abSDC17225This card has an amazing pre-colored, digital image by Fred She Said Designs! πŸ™‚Β  The image I’m using is called Wheelbarrow Digi & Pre-Coloured.Β  The sentiment is a Stampin’ Up! stamp, I don’t know what set it’s from, because I bought just this one stamp:(Β  Maybe someone reading this will know:)Β  The saying seems very appropriate for our SAS4Kids hospitals:)Β  It says:Β  “Every day holds the possibility of a miracle” by Elizabeth David. Β

At the bottom I added a strip of Daffodil Delight, embossed with a retired Stampin’ Up! embossing folder, Needlepoint Border.Β  I added a samll piece of Wild Wassabi.Β  I’d be hard pressed to make it much more clean and simple, although I could, just don’t want to;) lolΒ  The background color is also Stampin’ Up!, Pacific Point, one of my favorite blues! πŸ™‚

Well, that’s my card for today, now on to my guest, Nanci Simmons! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAΒ  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAre these too cute! ?Β  Nanci has sent multiples of her cards, but they’re all a little bit different:)Β  Different papers make the cards different enough for two kids to receive the same card on the same hospital unit:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAΒ  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAYou can see that Nanci is a master at changing a few things to make the cards different! πŸ™‚Β  These are all hand colored! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAMore hand colored cared, all are great for boys! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI’ve never tried these, but Nanci says they are easy and fun to make:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAΒ  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at these 4 cards! πŸ™‚Β  Nanci is so good at matching paper and styles! πŸ™‚Β  I love all of these and once again, these could all go to the same hospital unit and everyone would be happy! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAΒ  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALast two cards tonight, I love both of these! πŸ™‚Β  I love Nanci’s wide variety of papers, colors and layouts! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Nanci, all these cards will be great for our kids! πŸ™‚ All these cards, as well as my card, are going to hospitals sponsored by Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I’m thankful for your interest! πŸ™‚Β  Even if you don’t send cards to SAS4Kids, you can still get plenty of good ideas from all the cards posted:)Β  I am always interested in your comments or questions! πŸ™‚Β  Have a great week! πŸ™‚
