A card by me…..no laughing! Plus SAS4Kids guest

Ok, laughing will be allowed, only to yourself! 🙂  You all may know that I sell Stampin’ Up!, I love Stampin’ Up!, but I have found these cute little critters by Lawn Fawn! 🙂  First off, if you haven’t been here before, I don’t color!  At least not often, I just don’t do it well, which you will see in just one minute! lol  Ok, I can laugh! 😉

I made this card, my first card using Lawn Fawn stamps!  It’s not for a challenge, it’s for one of my granddaughters:)  I’ll be sending her some cut out images she can color, I’m sure much better than me, but it’s the thought that counts, right?  So cut me a little slack, here’s my card:)

aSDC17609First off, I have to admit that it didn’t come out the way I planned.  The birthday is in the wrong place, and there was an ink smudge on the lower right that I had to cover up:(  I did use two colors on the tree and the Platypus;)  Ok, I know it’s not great, but maybe passable?  She has always loved the Platypus, and I think it’s cute with the hat:)  I don’t have the birthday cake or the balloon sets:(  I managed with what I have on hand.  I did use a Stampin’ Up! sentiment and I actually colored with the Stampin’ Up! Blendabilities:)  Sadly you can’t get them anymore, there was a production quality issue:(

I spent a lot of time coloring the tree and Platypus, so I wasn’t going to give up on this card no matter what!  I guess I could have cut them out with the dies, but I wanted to try it this way.  I did cut out the little hat by hand! 😉 lol  Hopefully, I will get better at this! 🙂

Now on to some cards made by my guests! 🙂  My first guest is Kayla Ford from my home state of IL:)  Kayla sent in a box of 37 Halloween cards for sharing with Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAll 4 of these cards with the same image, and yet they all look very different! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThese are completely different! 🙂  I love the fun colors, these will be good for even young ones:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAMaybe the scary house for some tweens, but the three others are great for younger kids! 🙂  Thank you Kala for these wonderful cards for our kids! 🙂

Today, I have a second guest, she is a repeat sender, Vicki Luebke from IN:)  Vicki has sent cards quite a few times, I always enjoy her cards! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are some not-too-scary cards for the older kids:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are some great for any age! 🙂  Vicki uses great papers and colors! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at these great Fall cards! 🙂  Thank you Vicki for sending all these great cards for kids!  All the cards today from my guests are going to Send A Smile 4 Kids!   I will entering one of these cards into the SAS4K Challenge, go over and take a look, you can enter too! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today! 🙂  I love to hear your comments, try not to laugh too hard! 😉  I’ll be back again with more Fall & Halloween cards! 🙂  Let me know if you’ve seen enough, I have plenty of general cards to share as well! 🙂

Merry Monday #170 and SAS4Kids

I’m back with one of my own cards and a guest cardmaker who sends cards to me for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂  My card is going to be entered into the challenge over at Merry Monday #170 🙂  I think I’m even early this time because it’s a two week challenge for Sept. 🙂  This challenge is to use Holly on your card.

easy-christmas-ideas-151

aSDC17419For my card, I used a beautiful image from Fred She Said called, Poinsettia & Holly Pre-Coloured Set. It comes with red flowers or white, and a number of different versions:)  I used Stampin’ Up! products to finish off my card.  Real Red cardstock for my base, Hand-Penned Holidays (retired) stamp set, Dazzling Details on the flower centers, and Crystal Effects on the berries to give it some depth and shine:)  I finished my card with the gold embossed sentiment.  Yes, I still use a Stamp-a-ma-jig;)

aSDC17421Here’s a closer look, the flower centers are sparlky, it’s hard to tell about the berries, but it’s easy to see in hand:)  This card will be going into a box for SAS4Kids because we try to send enough cards at Christmas for the kids to give cards to their parents or caregivers:)

Now for my guest I have Janelle Klapperich:)  I’ve shown cards by Janelle before, she has great cards with lots of different designs:)  Today I have some misc. cards and some Halloween.

Merry Monday #169, SAS4Kids & Stampin’ Up! sneak peek

OMGoodness, it feels like forever since I made a post! 😦  I have been so busy with school starting and everything that goes with it!  But, today, I have a card I made, and a guest! 🙂  So we’ll get right down to business! 🙂

I made my card for Merry Monday #169.  The challenge is to use Light Green, Dark Green and Red:)  I will also enter it into the challenge blog over at Send A Smile 4 Kids, which this week is “Anything Goes”🙂

169My card is using some brand new products from Stampin’ Up! that will be available Sept. 1, 2015! 🙂  If you would be interested the new catalog or any of the products you see here, please email me at bspruce2000@yahoo.com:)

abSDC17305This card is made with the new Jingle All the Way stamp set and the Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies! 🙂  I bought them as a bundle and saved 15%! 🙂  The Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies, also come with, as you might guess, another die with a horse and sleigh.  I actually combined two different edgelits on one line for my card.  I also used a new Embossing Folder called Softly Falling.  The sentiment is from the Jingle All the Way stamp set, and yes, it’s curved:)

I used the little house edgelet on the left and cut it from Whisper White, then I colored it with my Stampin’ Write Real Red Marker.  On the right, I used the tree edgelit and cut the trees from Garden Green.  I just cut the trees and a small extra piece that I used to glue my trees to the house card stock.  I topped it off with some Stampin’ Up! Lucky Limeade Baker’s Twine (retired).  I’m very please with how this turned out! 🙂  I actually got the idea for this card from the new Holiday Catalog;)  You can find the stamp set and the dies on page 12 of the new catalog:)  The embossing folder is on the top left of page 24:)

Is it Halloween yet?  Well, you’re going to think so when you see the next cards by my guest, Karen Peterson! 🙂  Karen is from NE and she has used some card kits from Paper Wishes.  I don’t know anything about Paper Wishes, except that Karen sends in some really great cards for our kids at Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Isn’t this a great card?!  The top photo is the front with the card closed, then I took a photo of the side view open.  Finally I took a photo of the inside that you can see from looking at the front open.  It’s an advanced easel card, I think it will be a great teen card.  I don’t think it’s too scary, what do you think?

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s an envelope made with stickers, I love it! 🙂  It goes with the next card.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I love this card, do you think it’s too scary?  I think it’s fine for a teen, not for a younger one.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the inside and the front of another card:)  Hmmm, now that I’m seeing them here, they all look like teen cards:)  Not to worry, I know I’m getting more Halloween cards very soon! 🙂  I’m usually very short on teen cards, so these are great!  Thank you so much Karen for supporting our kids and our work through Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

That’s all I have for today, but I hope to be back soon with more Fall/Halloween cards! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today, I’m always thankful for your interest! 🙂

Merry Monday #167, Freshly Made #197 & SAS4Kids

Wow, I have a lot going on today, and I also have a guest!  Are you ready?  Here is the info for Merry Monday #167:

167Here is the card I made, I wanted to do something different……

SDC17078bYes, there is a tiny heart, you probably need to click on it to see;)  There is a little green angel holding up a heart down by the “a” in Peace.  I was going through my storage and I found these little gift tags.  I outlined it with silver line peeloffs and the added the Holly leaf peeloffs.  The Merry Christmas is also a peeloff.  Peeloffs are very popular in other countries, you can get them in the USA.  I’ve found them here, look under stickers. I used Stampin’ Up! Real Red as my cardstock highlight color.

FMS+Final+197-001Freshly Made Sketches #197 is a sketch.  You all know I stay pretty close to the sketch;)

SDC17052Supplies for this card are all over the place!  I used some tree looking paper and the gray paper, both printed on my printer, from Raspberry Road.  Both are digital papers from different sets.  I should have written it down, but I didn’t:(  I  have tons of digital kits from Raspberry Road!  If anyone wants to know which sets, please just ask and I’ll look it up:)

The branch was cut from the same paper using a Quick Kutz die.  I couldn’t decide if I wanted in front of back, front won.  The moon was cut with the new Stampin’ Up! 2 inch circle punch, from Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry.  Of course, I used the Stampin’ Up! owl punch.  The eyes are Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo.  The owl gray front came from one of the Stampin’ Up! Halloween papers, I didn’t write that down either, I’m so sorry:(  But, I know the Happy Halloween stamp came from the Stampin’ Up! set Teeny Tiny Wishes🙂

Both of my cards are going into boxes for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂  SAS4Kids has a challenge blog, and this week the challenge is Christmas in July, check it out! 🙂

Now I have a guest today, Donna Wakefield from IN.  Donna is a repeating card donor and she also has a blog of her own.  You can go visit her and see what else she’s up to:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAren’t these too cute?!  Donna might say on her blog where she got these adorable penquins:)  I love all the blues! 🙂  All Donna’s cards will be going to one of my 3 hospitals, supplied by SAS4Kids! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERADonna send a number of these, and that’s ok, because I have 3 hospitals to share with! 🙂  These are awesome, and there are a couple more different designs! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Some really pretty girly cards!  I don’t know, maybe boys like flowers too:)  This looks like a Stampin’ Up! set:)  Really pretty colors! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAWow, these cards look really fun! 🙂  Who doesn’t like balloons or kites?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA    SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI love this cute little birthday puppy, but the sand castle is my favorite today!  If you look close, you can see little footprints in the sand near the center!  Don’t you just love it? !  The sentiment is appropriate, because the whole card looks dreamy to me! 🙂

Thank you Donna for sending more fun and encouraging cards to our kids! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you enjoyed viewing all the cards! 🙂  I plan to be back soon with more cards to share! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #190, SAS4Kids, Guest

What do I have today?  Well, I have another deceptively easy card;)  There has got to be a way to make this cards that’s simple, although I tried Stampin’ Up! markers,  I wasn’t thrilled with the colors….I’m getting carried away…

Ok, I made a card! 🙂  I’m very pleased that I’ve made three cards this week! 🙂  My card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #190. Here’s their sketch:

FMS Final 190-001A lot of you may know that I stay pretty close to the sketches I do, so you won’t be surprised to see my card;)

abSDC16655So, I can see you’re thinking, how could this possibly be not simple?  As I started to tell you, I tried using my markers, but the orange just wasn’t bright enough:(  I tried different ways to use ink pads for both the black and orange with varying degrees of success:(  Finally, as I was falling asleep in my chair, I decided to ink the black part and cover what should be orange with tape.  I stamped the image in black and then stamped the orange pumpkin on a separate piece of card with the halloween from Stampin’ Up!s Teeny Tiny Wishes.  I also covered the happy with tape.  The cat is part of a set from Stampin’ Up! called Tricky Treats (retired).  I then cut the banner with Bitty Banners, Framelits.

I used Memento Black for the cat image and halloween.  For the pumpkin, I used Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango.  The orange paper just came from my Halloween stash of papers.  The green behind it is Stampin’ Up! Old Olive.  I used the Stampin’ Up! Extra Large Oval punch for the cat, and behind the cat I used the Decorative Label punch. Yep, it looks simple, and I’m sure for some people it would be a piece of cake!  I think I should make cards during the day when I’m awake! 😉  Anyway…one more card to put in a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! 🙂

Now on to my guest! 🙂  This guest has been featured before, Diane Herniman, from Canada:)  Diane doesn’t send many cards at a time, but they’re always awesome! 🙂  They all go straight to SAS4Kids! 🙂  Diane uses lots of personal photos of animals and plants from her home and yard:)  Here are some of Diane’s cards that she has sent over the last couple of months! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANope, not a card, this is the front of the envelope for the card I’m going to show you:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the back of the envelope!  Diane makes all her own envelopes using papers closely matching the themes of her cards.  She also adds a sticker to seal the envelope! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the outside of the card, you may be thinking, that looks like a regular card….

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s a side view, it’s an easel card:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the inside and the back! 🙂  I think Diane has a style all her own! 🙂  I couldn’t copy her cards if I tried!  I’ve held her cards in my hand, taken lots of photos, I still don’t believe I could make cards like hers!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s one of what Diane calls her “regular cards”.  Beautiful paper and an image from her garden:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

The inside, with what I’m sure is another photo from her garden, and an envelope:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Another “regular card” and the inside:)  Diane’s cards just make me happy! 🙂  I can imagine her going to her garden and taking photos to share with our kids and their families:)

One more! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAFront and back of the envelope:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACard front, isn’t this so cute?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe inside and the back:)  Don’t like cats?  That’s ok, next time you can see her dogs! 😉

I hope you enjoyed the cards today! 🙂  Thanks for coming by, I hope to see you again soon! 🙂

Freshly Made #105 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

I have a Halloween card today for the Freshly Made Challenge #105.  I will be sending it to Send A Smile 4 Kids, but I will not be entering it there.  I already have two cards made and ready to show you tomorrow, or later today. It’s 1 am here now, so I may get to it later;)   One of those cards will be entered into the Send A Smile 4 Kids challenge.

Here is the sketch for this week, you still have time to join before Monday, noon I think.

FMS Final 105-001This is not as easy as it looks!  Lining up those 4 squares was really hard! LOL  Really though, it was hard……

Poster2

I think it turned out really cute and some child on a hospital ward here in the USA will, I hope, enjoy it! 🙂 This is my favorite little girl, Emma, by Fred She Said!  This image is called Halloween – Emma The Cat Decoupage Sheet + extras.  Honestly, I think it’s one of the longest names in the store!  But she is soooo cute, and she comes with the purple pumpkin paper, and she can be layered too:)  What a deal, you need to go to the store because you won’t believe how inexpensive this piece of digital art is!  Also, there is a SALE going on, but hurry, it’s only until Sept. 30th!

FSS-FALL SALE 2013Well, that’s all for right now, I hope you can come back later:)  Thanks for stopping by! 🙂

Freshly Made #103 & Send A Smile 4 Kids

Wow, I have 5 cards to share today!  All of them are Halloween or Fall.  I won’t share a lot of details today because there are so many cards.  I will say they are all based on the same Freshly Made Sketch #103.  Here’s the sketch:

FMS Final 103-001The first card is the one I made that is closest to the sketch, so I will start with the images by Doodle Pantry. You can click on any of my cards to make them larger:

Half-fold Card1This one is Franken-Birdie, from Doodle Pantry.

Half-fold Card3Ok, I thought he was cute and I love the ribbon, even if it doesn’t look the best here, it’s shiny black, orange and purple squares are really a standout! See previous card for the links;)

Half-fold Card2This one is Pumpkin Carving Ants, also by Doodle Pantry. On this same page, at Doodle Pantry, you can see a pumpkin image Free with any purchase Sept 5th thru Sept 24th.  Here is where you can get a Free image just for joining this months challenge.  They have uncolored digis, but you know I’m loving their Pre-colored images;)

Now, I have two more cards, both made with digital images from Fred She Said.

Half-fold Card5Here’s Emma in the Leaves, from Fred She Said.

Half-fold Card4And my last card for today, Halloween Rosey, from Fred She Said.  I’ll be making extras of all these cards to share with Send A Smile 4 Kids, and Operation Write Home.  On the 15th of Sept., Sunday for those of you here in the US, Fred She Said will be one of the sponsors for the Glitter n Sparkle Challenge.  Head over there on Sunday and enter to win Fred She Said or other digital prizes!

OMGoodness, I’m exhausted!  I’m getting too old for these late nights!  Hopefully you won’t be reading this at 1am, unless you’re in Australia (Robyn), in that case it won’t actually be 1am;)  lol

Thanks for stopping by, I’m grateful for your interest! 🙂   I hope to be back soon with more cards for you to see! 🙂

Friday Mashup #82

I thought I was done with Halloween, but here is one more for the Friday Mashup #82.

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:
  1. Make a project with a “Witch”.
  2. Or Make a project using “Bleach”.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a project with a “Witch using a Bleach Technique“.

I don’t like bleach, so I just made a card with a witch.  I really don’t care for witches either so I had to get creative.  Here’s the card I made, you can click on it to make it larger:

I used an unusual amount of different products to make this card, well, I think so anyway;)  For the main image, I used digital wordart from Raspberry Road Designs called Haunted Dreams Wordart.   It was really easy to use!  AND they are having a 50% off sale until Oct. 31, 2012!

Now on with the card info;)  The paper I used is Stampin’ Up! digital paper.  The background plaid is from Howlstooth & Scaringbone, you can get the paper, or the digital paper.  I used digital paper, I like to resize my paper to “fit” my cards.  The “moon” is also digital Crushed Curry.  Hmmm, actually all the paper is digital, I print my “paper” on cardstock and then cut it out.  My card is layered just like you would layer any card, the main image is popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The “moon” was cut out with a Spellbinders Circle Die, and then I sponged Basic Black around the edges.  I used the bat stamp from the Stampin’ Up! set Wicked Cool.  I printed my main digital image on digital Very Vanilla.  I even printed the black background papers digitally, only because I was printing everything else anyway.

To finish it off, I added three colored, sparkly adhesive embellishments from Michaels.  I was going to put either 3 orange or 3 black, but my granddaughters were my design consultants today, they are 6 & 7, and they wanted both!

Thanks for stopping by today:)  Be sure to stop by the Friday Mashup and check out the other cards! 🙂

Freshly Made #57

This card is for Freshly Made #57. I noticed that a lot of people made Christmas cards this week for the challenge, but I’m still in Halloween mode;)  I did use a Christmas stamp set though, more on that later.  Here is this weeks sketch:

Looks simple, but it’s seems to be the simple ones that give me so much trouble;)  Here is the card I finally made, you can click on it to make it larger:

Yep, I used the new Christmas stamp set, Scentsational Season by Stampin’ Up!.  I also used the matching Framelit Dies, Holiday Collection.  The whole set is really cute!  I don’t know why I picked it for a Halloween card, just popped into my head:)

The dotted paper is from the DSP set Frightful Sight. This is the regular paper which is retired, but I also have it in digital form from My Digital Studio, still available:)  The top paper looks orange, but it’s actually More Mustard.  The stamp pad I used is Lucky Limeade, as well as the ribbon, and one of the background layers.

The spider web is one of those scratch on things I found in my stash, as well as the skull.  I love how it all came together:)

Thanks for coming by today:) My next card should be a Christmas card.  See you soon!

Friday Mashup #80

Here I am with another challenge card for the Friday Mashup, #80!  Wow, this year is going by so fast!  Here are the challenge rules and sketch:

So here is the “Mashup” Challenge:
  1. Make a project with the “Sketch”.
  2. Or Make a project using Faux Washi Tape.
  3. Or “Mash it Up” and create a project using the “Sketch and Faux Washi Tape“.

You know I like to “Mash it Up”, but this week I used only the sketch.  I’m making way too many cards this week to make my own Faux Washi Tape, but I did go have a look and may try it another time;)

Now for my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

When I bought this Stampin’ Up! set, I thought it was kinda creepy!  But it turns out, 2 of my grandchildren are into creepy! lol   I made another card like this that you can find on my “other” blog.  For  this card I found a sample in the holiday mini catalog from SU, 9/1/2011-1/3/2012, page 10.  I felt the papers had images too large for cards, just my opinion;)  Anyway, I bought the paper for My Digital Studio.  You don’t actually have to have MDS to use the papers, just some form of print program.

The stamp set is called  Piece of Poison, and the paper is called Pick Your Poison. I also used SU cardstock, Basic Black, Old Olive, and Tangerine Tango.  The ink pads are SU, Basic Black and Tangerine Tango.   The small piece of ribbon is Stampin’ Up! from the new holiday catalog,  I did use a Martha Stewart punch for the “goo”, and a little circle embellishment from Michaels.

If you have any other questions about products or technique, be sure to ask:)

Thanks for coming by today:)  Be sure to check out the Friday Mashup to see more wonderful cards, feel free to join it the fun! 🙂  See ya soon:)
