SAS4Kids #187 cards 4 boys

I can hardly believe it’s been a month since I was last here!Β  I had planned on at least one more post in February, but I was sick 😦  Thankfully I’m much better now, just in time for the monthly SAS4kids post! πŸ™‚

I’m glad you’re here and hope you enjoy the inspiration I have to share with you today πŸ™‚Β  My card is a “boy” card, I know a lot of you have trouble with boy cards, I do too.Β  But this card actually came together pretty quickly πŸ™‚

My Project

This card is using Stampin’ Up! stamp set Enjoy Life, all the images are silhouettes.Β  The sentiment is also from the set.Β  For the background I used a free image from Fred She Said Designs. Go here and scroll down below the bride, you will see I asked for this stand alone background, and Tracey graciously supplied it for free! πŸ™‚Β  I resized it on my Print Shop program and I think it works great for this card! πŸ™‚Β  It’s so easy to put together, I think I will make some cards for all of my hospitals! πŸ™‚

I received some cards from a brand new (to me) donor πŸ™‚Β  Her name is Jaydee and to visit her blog you can go here, Stampin! with Jaydee.Β  Jaydee sent about 240 cards!Β  It was almost impossible to decide what to share!Β  Some of the cards were duplicates, but there were plenty of cards for me to choose from! πŸ™‚

OMGoodness, thank you so much Jaydee! πŸ™‚Β  There are so many more, please visit her blog above the cards πŸ™‚Β  These cards will be shared with 4 different hospitals in IL & IN! πŸ™‚

While I’ve been sick, I received a several more boxes that haven’t been gone through yet as I didn’t want to touch the cards while I had germs!Β  I will be sharing more cards from other donors soon! πŸ™‚

Thanks for coming by today, I appreciate your interest in Send A Smile 4 Kids and the inspiration our donors share with our kids! πŸ™‚

I am a Stampin’ Up! Demo, so I do receive monies from products I sell.Β  I do not receive any compensation for any products I showcase on my blog from anyone.

SAS4Kids- Easter

Welcome back! πŸ™‚Β  I had intended to post another blog entry this month, and the month just flew by too fast, sorry 😦  But here I am, and today, I have a card to share for kids with Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

I saw a card on Pinterest with these eggs by PaperTrey Ink and I thought they were adorable! πŸ™‚Β  The green paper is Stampin’ Up! and the Happy Easter die is from Memory Box.Β  It was fun to put together with Stampin’ Up! inks πŸ™‚

I have a couple of guests cards today πŸ™‚Β  Please enjoy the Winter cards made by Trish Cudney of MN, where it’s still Winter as well as in IL!

Here are two cards showing what I mean by Seasonal, everyday cards πŸ™‚Β  Happy Birthday and a miss you card.Β  Nice winter themes and paper, but with everyday sentiments πŸ™‚

I love blue Winter cards, it’s my favorite color! πŸ™‚Β  You can click on them to make them larger.Β  Winter themes with no sentiment can be used for any occasion! πŸ™‚

Thank you Trish for these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  The kids will still be able to enjoy them during the deep freeze here in IL&IN! πŸ™‚

Now I have some more Easter cards, this time from Vicki Luebke of IN πŸ™‚

Thank you Vicki, for these super fun, colorful and cheerful cards! πŸ™‚

I would like to thank all of my donors for their continued support of our SAS4K, kids! πŸ™‚Β  You help bring cheer to our kids all year long, and I know they will have large smiles on their faces when receiving these cards and all the cards sent in so far this year! πŸ™‚

If you’re not a donor, that’s fine with us, we hope you enjoy our inspiration and hope you might join us at some point! πŸ™‚

Thank you all for stopping by, I’m thankful for your interest! πŸ™‚Β  I really do plan on having another post around the 15th of the month πŸ™‚Β  If you sign up to follow me, you’ll receive my post in your email πŸ™‚

Send A Smile 4 Kids March 2018

I am so sorry that I have been so slow in posting! 😦  I’m going to try and post at least twice a month πŸ™‚Β  I’m going to be joining the SAS4Kids Design Team in May, 2018 πŸ™‚Β  Hopefully that will keep me on track with twice a month πŸ™‚

I’m going to be entering this card into the SAS4Kids challenge, Anything Goes/Cards for Boys.Β Β  Here is my card for boys:

This card was made with a stamp from Stampin’ Up! called Magical Day.Β  I used a sentiment from my stash and digital paper that I found on Esty.Β  The circles are both dies from Stampin’ Up!Β  This card was fun and easy, I’m hoping a boy at one of our hospitals will really like it! πŸ™‚

Now on to some guests! πŸ™‚Β  First I have Janelle Klapperich of SD with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards! πŸ™‚

Thank you Janelle, for these wonderful cards! πŸ™‚Β  I love how you made Mother’s Day cards with only sentiments and beautiful papers! πŸ™‚Β  Your Father’s Day cards are simple but effective πŸ™‚Β  A wonderful section of each! πŸ™‚Β  I’m assuming you will send more Father’s Day cards πŸ˜‰

Next is Diane Herniman from Canada πŸ™‚Β  Diane and Janelle are both repeat senders and I appreciate their continued support of our kids! πŸ™‚

Diane always finds such wonderful papers! πŸ™‚Β  Her cards are also very unique πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Diane for these beautiful cards for Mother’s Day, I’m sure our kids will love sharing them with their moms! πŸ™‚

I am so thankful for those of you who support our cause! πŸ™‚Β  I’m also thankful for those just coming by to look and get some inspiration! πŸ™‚Β  Please visit again and hopefully I will be making more posts per month! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #324 & Easter

Hello again! πŸ™‚Β  I know, I’ve been gone a long time again 😦  I hope you all are making Easter cards! πŸ™‚Β  Easter is early this year, April 1st!Β  Hard to believe there are only a few weeks to get your cards sent in! πŸ™‚Β  I have some cards to show you that I’ve been working on πŸ™‚Β  My first card is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #324.Β  I will also be posting on the SAS4Kids challenge blog, you can too! πŸ™‚

First up is the sketch I worked from:

FMS Final 324-001My Project (201802152018) c

For this card I used a retired Stampin’ Up! set, Basket Bunch πŸ™‚Β  I think it’s such a cute set, I wish we still had it for sale! πŸ™‚Β  It comes with all the stamps and dies, I just used a little ink and it was all done! πŸ™‚Β  I find these minimal sketches very challenging, I’m so used to putting so much more on a card!

Here are a few more cards I made for Easter, not very exciting, but I’m sure some kids is going to love them! πŸ™‚Β  I also found making “boy” Easter cards to be a challenge!Β  I hope some of you are making “boy” cards! πŸ˜‰

Donor cards for Easter have been very slow coming in, but I have some cards to share πŸ™‚Β  First up is Diane Herniman from Canada πŸ™‚Β  Diane was joined by her daughter, Dawn to make these great cards! πŸ™‚

Thank you Diane and Dawn, beautiful cards! πŸ™‚Β  Lots of variety here for kids of all ages! πŸ™‚

I also have cards to share from Ruby Haugen of MN:)

Thank you Ruby for always sending such adorable cards! πŸ™‚

I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at all the Easter cards! πŸ™‚Β  Hopefully you’ve gotten some inspiration, or decided you’d like to send in cards to our cause as well! πŸ™‚Β  It seems most of our volunteers have a good supply of cards, except holidays.Β  Easter will be very soon!Β  Please try to get cards to your volunteers at least 2 weeks prior to a holiday! πŸ™‚Β  After Easter/Spring is Mother’s Day and then Father’s Day, I know, hard to believe! πŸ™‚

Please let me know if you would like to become a volunteer! πŸ™‚Β  You get to choose your hospitals, and donors would send you cards to share with that hospital or hospitals πŸ™‚

Kids love to receive cards and handmade cards are the best! πŸ™‚

Thank you for coming by today, it’s always fun to share the wonderful cards received for our kids! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see you sooner next time! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #228 & SAS4Kids

I know I say this all the time, but……I am so far behind!Β  I missed a whole week, I’m so sorry! 😦  I’m going to make up for it by showing you lots of cards! πŸ™‚Β  First, I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #228 πŸ™‚

FMS Final 228-001

This card is mostly digital, with my main image coming from Raspberry Road Designs πŸ™‚Β  I can’t remember exactly which set it was from, but if you’d like to know just ask:)Β  The blue paper was also in the set, I printed it with the main image on Epson Presentation Paper-MatteΒ  I really like this paper because it’s nice and thick so you can print and cut things and still pop them up if you would like to.Β  The sentiment came from a stamp set that was gifted to me.Β  I think it was Markie’sΒ  Finest Paper, but I won’t swear to that;)Β  I mounted the whole thing onto a white base, because that’s what I usually do:)Β  Quite Simply Made, but I think a kid in the hospital is going to love it when added to a box of Send A Smile 4 Kids cards! πŸ™‚

Now for more SAS4Kids cards, I have a number of guests:)Β  We’ll see how many we can fit in;)Β  First up is Lisa Simokaitis of IL, Lisa is a first time sender to me:)

Lisa sent these really beautiful Easter cards and a number of others:)Β  Thank you Lisa for thinking of our kids, these are beautiful cards for our kids and/or their parents! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! πŸ™‚

Judy Martin is from PA, and has sent cards a few times:)

Judy has done a lot of water coloring on her cards, lovely! πŸ™‚

Aren’t these adorable! ?Β  I’m not sure about the chicks, but the other 3 cards are Lawn Fawn! πŸ™‚Β  I love how she used the pink polka dot cut-out on the green card! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Judy for being on my team! πŸ™‚

Donna Wakefield has sent cards in many times:)Β  Her cards are usually one of a kind, and they’re always great! πŸ™‚Β  Donna has her own blog that you can go visit:)Β  http://designbydonna.blogspot.com/

Don’t you just love these!?Β  Be sure to check out Donna’s blog to see how she makes her cards!Β  Thank you Donna for always keeping our kids in mind! πŸ™‚

Next is Andrea La Vigne from TX:)Β  Andrea has sent cards in more than a few times, and she also has a blog you can visit! πŸ™‚Β  http://andreaspaperantics.blogspot.com/

Andrea doesn’t send a lot of cards at a time, but what she sends are great cards! πŸ™‚Β Β  Andrea also does a lot of water coloring:)Β  Thank you Andrea for always sending cards for the kids, I know they love your cards! πŸ™‚

Karin Hendrickson is from MO, she also doesn’t send a lot of cards at one time, but she sends pretty often:)

Karin makes these really beautiful cards, I think they’re screen fold cards, but I’m not sure.Β  Beside Easter she sent a number for Mother’s Day, which hopefully I’ll remember to show you at a later time;)Β  I love all the cute images and the flower is just beautiful in hand! πŸ™‚

Here’s a closer look, isn’t this wonderful! ?Β  She’s sent these in before for other holidays, these must be so much fun for the kids to sit next to their beds! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Karin for making such thoughtful, and fun cards for our kids! πŸ™‚

I told you, tons of cards today! πŸ™‚Β  Two more guests!Β  First is Jan Kloss of TX:)Β  Jan is a friend of my friend Jill Blasche:)Β  They like to get together and craft, so you’ll see some of the same papers used by each, but their cards are not the same:)

Jan’s cards are so cute, I actually used some for Easter and some for Spring, she sent multiples of each of these! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jan, I love seeing your cards in Jill’s boxes! πŸ™‚

Jill Blasche is a good friend of mine from TX:)Β  I love getting her cards, she always sends multiples so each of my three hospitals are sure to get some! πŸ™‚

On the left are two of Jill’s examples of how she makes for my “regular” hospitals and for my “no embellishment” hospital.Β  She is so clever, they are pretty much the same, but the “regular” hospitals get ribbon and gems, the “no embellishment hospital doesn’t.Β  Not so hard, if I didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference;)Β  On the right, you can see some of the paper Jan used, but the cards don’t look the same:)

I love these two cards! πŸ™‚Β  The one on the left is great for my “no embellishment” hospital and the one on the right is great for my other hospitals! πŸ™‚Β  Same sentiment, but totally different cards! πŸ™‚Β  Thank you Jill for always being open to a challenge and thinking of all my kids! πŸ™‚

I hope I didn’t wear you all out today with all the wonderful examples of cards to make for kids, or anyone! πŸ™‚Β  I can’t express how much my card makers mean to me and the kids I serve! πŸ™‚

I want to thank everyone for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope I can come back sooner to share some more great cards with you all! πŸ™‚

Be sure to visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see more cards or to join in! πŸ™‚Β  Tomorrow will start a new challenge, “For the Boys”.

Freshly Made Sketches #190, SAS4Kids, Guest

What do I have today?Β  Well, I have another deceptively easy card;)Β  There has got to be a way to make this cards that’s simple, although I tried Stampin’ Up! markers,Β  I wasn’t thrilled with the colors….I’m getting carried away…

Ok, I made a card! πŸ™‚Β  I’m very pleased that I’ve made three cards this week! πŸ™‚Β  My card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #190. Here’s their sketch:

FMS Final 190-001A lot of you may know that I stay pretty close to the sketches I do, so you won’t be surprised to see my card;)

abSDC16655So, I can see you’re thinking, how could this possibly be not simple?Β  As I started to tell you, I tried using my markers, but the orange just wasn’t bright enough:(Β  I tried different ways to use ink pads for both the black and orange with varying degrees of success:(Β  Finally, as I was falling asleep in my chair, I decided to ink the black part and cover what should be orange with tape.Β  I stamped the image in black and then stamped the orange pumpkin on a separate piece of card with the halloween from Stampin’ Up!s Teeny Tiny Wishes.Β  I also covered the happy with tape.Β  The cat is part of a set from Stampin’ Up! called Tricky Treats (retired).Β  I then cut the banner with Bitty Banners, Framelits.

I used Memento Black for the cat image and halloween.Β  For the pumpkin, I used Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango.Β  The orange paper just came from my Halloween stash of papers.Β  The green behind it is Stampin’ Up! Old Olive.Β  I used the Stampin’ Up! Extra Large Oval punch for the cat, and behind the cat I used the Decorative Label punch. Yep, it looks simple, and I’m sure for some people it would be a piece of cake!Β  I think I should make cards during the day when I’m awake! πŸ˜‰Β  Anyway…one more card to put in a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚

Now on to my guest! πŸ™‚Β  This guest has been featured before, Diane Herniman, from Canada:)Β  Diane doesn’t send many cards at a time, but they’re always awesome! πŸ™‚Β  They all go straight to SAS4Kids! πŸ™‚Β  Diane uses lots of personal photos of animals and plants from her home and yard:)Β  Here are some of Diane’s cards that she has sent over the last couple of months! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANope, not a card, this is the front of the envelope for the card I’m going to show you:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the back of the envelope!Β  Diane makes all her own envelopes using papers closely matching the themes of her cards.Β  She also adds a sticker to seal the envelope! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the outside of the card, you may be thinking, that looks like a regular card….

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s a side view, it’s an easel card:)

Here is the inside and the back! πŸ™‚Β  I think Diane has a style all her own! πŸ™‚Β  I couldn’t copy her cards if I tried!Β  I’ve held her cards in my hand, taken lots of photos, I still don’t believe I could make cards like hers!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s one of what Diane calls her “regular cards”.Β  Beautiful paper and an image from her garden:)

The inside, with what I’m sure is another photo from her garden, and an envelope:)

Another “regular card” and the inside:)Β  Diane’s cards just make me happy! πŸ™‚Β  I can imagine her going to her garden and taking photos to share with our kids and their families:)

One more! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACard front, isn’t this so cute?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAΒ  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe inside and the back:)Β  Don’t like cats?Β  That’s ok, next time you can see her dogs! πŸ˜‰

I hope you enjoyed the cards today! πŸ™‚Β  Thanks for coming by, I hope to see you again soon! πŸ™‚

SAS4Kids Easter/Spring with Guest

It’s Easter/Spring cards over at Send A Smile 4 Kids! πŸ™‚Β  Maybe you’re thinking it’s too late to send in Easter cards:(Β  Not for my location! πŸ™‚Β  I have until March 23rd to get my box in.Β  So if you’re done with your cards, or if you’re almost done, please send them in! πŸ™‚Β  If you still want to send them in, go ahead, I’ll save them until next year:)

If you’re just starting your Easter cards and you’re looking for inspiration, I’ve got some! πŸ™‚Β  Today my guest is Holly Blaskie from MI.Β  I’ve shown some of Holly’s cards before, she does a wonderful job with colors, papers and themes! πŸ™‚Β  I love the way she can use the same supplies and make cards that look really different, yet similar:) Lets see how many I can fit in today:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAFour cards almost exactly the same.Β  See how just the different colors, can make the cards feel different?Β  Cardstock and Washi tape, I bet the kids will love them! πŸ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are two different layouts with the same paper.Β  I think they have a completely different feel.Β  The eggs feel like a younger child, and the flowers feel like an older child, maybe a parent.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI get the same feeling from these two cards.Β  I don’t know if that was Holly’s intention, but she sure did a great job! πŸ™‚Β  These are wonderful cards with thought and effort put into every one!Β  I know the kids will love all of these cards, no matter which one they get! πŸ™‚

Thanks to Holly for allowing me to share her beautiful cards with you all today! πŸ™‚Β  Check out the SAS4Kids blog challenge page! πŸ™‚Β  You can see more samples of cards for our kids:)Β  My location is the only Hospital right now accepting religious cards.Β  Always upbeat and cheerful, please no Angels waiting at the gates of Heaven.Β  Suggested sentiments:Β  Praying for you, Hugs & Prayers, You’re in my thoughts and prayers, all are good sentiments.Β  I will accept cheerful animal angels, such as cats, or bears.

Praying Birdie

This image is available at Doodle Pantry, very cute:)

This image is available at Fred She Said Designs.Β  Fred She Said is only taking email orders right now, but you can still get it.

These are both digital artwork and are downloadable to print out on your own printer.Β  Just suggestions on cheerful angels and prayers.

Thank you for coming by today!Β  I will be back by soon with some more Easter cards:)

Freshly Made Sketches #82

Two cards in one day!Β  I know, I have to make them when I have the time;) I was actually up very late last night making cards…..couldn’t sleep:(Β  This card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. Β  I will also be putting it into the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids and sending it off:)Β  The Mother’s Day challenge just ended and they are on to Birthdays, check it out! πŸ™‚

Here is the sketch for this weeks Freshly Made challenge:

FMS Final 82-001Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1I personally love this card….so cheerful and Springy:)Β  My pre-colored digital images are from Fred She Said, of course;)Β  I used three different sets here.Β  The pink paper with the flowers is a new collaboration between Fred She Said and Bearly Mine Designs.Β  The set is called, FSS-BMD Floral Surprise Papers Set, it hasΒ beautiful papers full of flowers! πŸ™‚Β  I also used Wee Hummingbird & PetuniasΒ  and Hibiscus. Β I took the Hibiscus to my Print Shop program, flipped it, printed it, cut it out and then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the Wee Hummingbird is also popped up.

I used Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede and Garden Green cardstock.Β  The Garden Green was run through my Big Shot using the new Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint Border embossing folder. You can’t tell very well this size, but if you enlarge the photo you can see that I used SU Dazzling Details to highlight a couple of the flowers and all over the pink paper. Lastly I used a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! set Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of my favorite sets! I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up perfectly;)

Another card with quite a few steps, but still Simply MadeπŸ˜‰Β  I hope you like this card:)

Thanks for stopping by again today, I’m always happy to have you! πŸ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #81

“Baby” (almost 2) Lawrence took a nice nap today, and I stayed awake!Β  I really wanted to make two more cards!Β  Today’s cards are for the challenge Freshly Made Sketches #81. Β I’d still like to try and get one more card done, or at least started tonight, so here is the sketch this week:

FMS Final 81-001I have two cards today, so be sure to scroll to the end:)Β  Here is my first card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card2Both the cards today will be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids.Β  They also have a challenge blog with prizes! πŸ™‚Β  Be sure to check them out! πŸ™‚

Lots of Stampin’ Up! products used today on both cards, but both images are from Fred She Said.Β  This first image is from a set called Wee Hummingbird & Petunias. Β There is a un-colored digi set and a pre-colored set.Β  You probably have already guessed that I used the pre-colored set;)Β  There are 7 different colors of flowers and also images of the flowers and birds separately.

I used Garden Green fromΒ  a Stampin’ Up! paper pack, and plain Daffodil Delight.Β  I also used glue from Stampin’ Up! and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up my sentiment and main image.Β  The little yellow gems were in my stash of craft items.

Now for my second card, you can also click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card3Another beautiful pre-colored image from Fred She Said!Β  This image is from a set called Hummingbird & Columbine, you can get the images pre-colored or black and white to color yourself.Β  There are three different colors of flowers and also images of just flowers or just birds.

More Stampin’ Up! papers:)Β  The blue polka dots are from a paper pack of Bright colors, I also used Bashful Blue and Pacific Point.Β  The leaves on the left are from a Stampin’ Up! Little Leaves Sizzlits die.

Thanks for coming by today!

Friday Mashup #104

Yay, I received an honor by being chosen this week, not as the winner, but as a runner up.Β  Still very much an honor:)Β  Here’s my badge:

It rained today, but that’s good…..it didn’t snow!!Β  The birds are also making some hanky panky, so Spring must be around the corner…….right?Β Β  This card fits right in with the weather today.

Here is the challenge for this week over at the Friday Mashup:

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using an “Umbrella Image”.
  2. Create a “Double Z Fold Card”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Double Z Fold Card with an Umbrella Image”.

I didn’t mash it up this week, just used the umbrella image.Β  This card will also be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 kids.Β  The sentiment reads: “Every storm cloud runs out of rain eventually”.

I couldn’t find an umbrella on my favorite Fred She Said site, so I had to go find one somewhere else:(Β  Luckily, I found this very cute image:

Half-fold Card2

It comes with the cloud paper and a few other things:)Β  I found it over at Clear Dollar Stamps, appropriately called Rainy Day.Β  Yes, it’s pre-colored;)Β  You may remember that I am pretty hopeless at coloring.

I used the same sketch as my last card, it worked well, I think:)Β  I used Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, my favorite yellow:)Β  Stampin’ Up! embossing folder and Spellbinders dies.Β  A very simply made card:)

I don’t make just digital cards.Β  All the elements for this card were printed on my favorite paper from Target, photo project paper, matte.Β  I believe it’s a store brand, it has a big green arrow in the bottom left corner that says up & up.Β  I print my images on the brochure, matte setting.Β  I then cut everything out and assemble it with glue, tape and or pop-ups.Β  For this card, I used all three;)

Thanks for coming by today! πŸ™‚Β  I hope to have my next card in a couple, few days, see you then! πŸ™‚
