Freshly Made Sketches #228 & SAS4Kids

I know I say this all the time, but……I am so far behind!ย  I missed a whole week, I’m so sorry! ๐Ÿ˜ฆย  I’m going to make up for it by showing you lots of cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  First, I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge #228 ๐Ÿ™‚

FMS Final 228-001

aSDC19687

This card is mostly digital, with my main image coming from Raspberry Road Designs ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can’t remember exactly which set it was from, but if you’d like to know just ask:)ย  The blue paper was also in the set, I printed it with the main image on Epson Presentation Paper-Matteย  I really like this paper because it’s nice and thick so you can print and cut things and still pop them up if you would like to.ย  The sentiment came from a stamp set that was gifted to me.ย  I think it was Markie’sย  Finest Paper, but I won’t swear to that;)ย  I mounted the whole thing onto a white base, because that’s what I usually do:)ย  Quite Simply Made, but I think a kid in the hospital is going to love it when added to a box of Send A Smile 4 Kids cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now for more SAS4Kids cards, I have a number of guests:)ย  We’ll see how many we can fit in;)ย  First up is Lisa Simokaitis of IL, Lisa is a first time sender to me:)

Lisa sent these really beautiful Easter cards and a number of others:)ย  Thank you Lisa for thinking of our kids, these are beautiful cards for our kids and/or their parents! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope to see more of your cards in the future! ๐Ÿ™‚

Judy Martin is from PA, and has sent cards a few times:)

Judy has done a lot of water coloring on her cards, lovely! ๐Ÿ™‚

Aren’t these adorable! ?ย  I’m not sure about the chicks, but the other 3 cards are Lawn Fawn! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love how she used the pink polka dot cut-out on the green card! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Judy for being on my team! ๐Ÿ™‚

Donna Wakefield has sent cards in many times:)ย  Her cards are usually one of a kind, and they’re always great! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Donna has her own blog that you can go visit:)ย  http://designbydonna.blogspot.com/

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Don’t you just love these!?ย  Be sure to check out Donna’s blog to see how she makes her cards!ย  Thank you Donna for always keeping our kids in mind! ๐Ÿ™‚

Next is Andrea La Vigne from TX:)ย  Andrea has sent cards in more than a few times, and she also has a blog you can visit! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  http://andreaspaperantics.blogspot.com/

Andrea doesn’t send a lot of cards at a time, but what she sends are great cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย ย  Andrea also does a lot of water coloring:)ย  Thank you Andrea for always sending cards for the kids, I know they love your cards! ๐Ÿ™‚

Karin Hendrickson is from MO, she also doesn’t send a lot of cards at one time, but she sends pretty often:)

Karin makes these really beautiful cards, I think they’re screen fold cards, but I’m not sure.ย  Beside Easter she sent a number for Mother’s Day, which hopefully I’ll remember to show you at a later time;)ย  I love all the cute images and the flower is just beautiful in hand! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here’s a closer look, isn’t this wonderful! ?ย  She’s sent these in before for other holidays, these must be so much fun for the kids to sit next to their beds! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Karin for making such thoughtful, and fun cards for our kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

I told you, tons of cards today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Two more guests!ย  First is Jan Kloss of TX:)ย  Jan is a friend of my friend Jill Blasche:)ย  They like to get together and craft, so you’ll see some of the same papers used by each, but their cards are not the same:)

Jan’s cards are so cute, I actually used some for Easter and some for Spring, she sent multiples of each of these! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Jan, I love seeing your cards in Jill’s boxes! ๐Ÿ™‚

Jill Blasche is a good friend of mine from TX:)ย  I love getting her cards, she always sends multiples so each of my three hospitals are sure to get some! ๐Ÿ™‚

On the left are two of Jill’s examples of how she makes for my “regular” hospitals and for my “no embellishment” hospital.ย  She is so clever, they are pretty much the same, but the “regular” hospitals get ribbon and gems, the “no embellishment hospital doesn’t.ย  Not so hard, if I didn’t tell you, you probably wouldn’t see the difference;)ย  On the right, you can see some of the paper Jan used, but the cards don’t look the same:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I love these two cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  The one on the left is great for my “no embellishment” hospital and the one on the right is great for my other hospitals! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Same sentiment, but totally different cards! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thank you Jill for always being open to a challenge and thinking of all my kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope I didn’t wear you all out today with all the wonderful examples of cards to make for kids, or anyone! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can’t express how much my card makers mean to me and the kids I serve! ๐Ÿ™‚

I want to thank everyone for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope I can come back sooner to share some more great cards with you all! ๐Ÿ™‚

Be sure to visit the SAS4Kids challenge blog to see more cards or to join in! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Tomorrow will start a new challenge, “For the Boys”.

Freshly Made Sketches #190, SAS4Kids, Guest

What do I have today?ย  Well, I have another deceptively easy card;)ย  There has got to be a way to make this cards that’s simple, although I tried Stampin’ Up! markers,ย  I wasn’t thrilled with the colors….I’m getting carried away…

Ok, I made a card! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I’m very pleased that I’ve made three cards this week! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  My card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches #190. Here’s their sketch:

FMS Final 190-001A lot of you may know that I stay pretty close to the sketches I do, so you won’t be surprised to see my card;)

abSDC16655So, I can see you’re thinking, how could this possibly be not simple?ย  As I started to tell you, I tried using my markers, but the orange just wasn’t bright enough:(ย  I tried different ways to use ink pads for both the black and orange with varying degrees of success:(ย  Finally, as I was falling asleep in my chair, I decided to ink the black part and cover what should be orange with tape.ย  I stamped the image in black and then stamped the orange pumpkin on a separate piece of card with the halloween from Stampin’ Up!s Teeny Tiny Wishes.ย  I also covered the happy with tape.ย  The cat is part of a set from Stampin’ Up! called Tricky Treats (retired).ย  I then cut the banner with Bitty Banners, Framelits.

I used Memento Black for the cat image and halloween.ย  For the pumpkin, I used Stampin’ Up! Tangerine Tango.ย  The orange paper just came from my Halloween stash of papers.ย  The green behind it is Stampin’ Up! Old Olive.ย  I used the Stampin’ Up! Extra Large Oval punch for the cat, and behind the cat I used the Decorative Label punch. Yep, it looks simple, and I’m sure for some people it would be a piece of cake!ย  I think I should make cards during the day when I’m awake! ๐Ÿ˜‰ย  Anyway…one more card to put in a box for Send A Smile 4 Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now on to my guest! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  This guest has been featured before, Diane Herniman, from Canada:)ย  Diane doesn’t send many cards at a time, but they’re always awesome! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  They all go straight to SAS4Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Diane uses lots of personal photos of animals and plants from her home and yard:)ย  Here are some of Diane’s cards that she has sent over the last couple of months! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERANope, not a card, this is the front of the envelope for the card I’m going to show you:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is the back of the envelope!ย  Diane makes all her own envelopes using papers closely matching the themes of her cards.ย  She also adds a sticker to seal the envelope! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s the outside of the card, you may be thinking, that looks like a regular card….

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s a side view, it’s an easel card:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAย  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Here is the inside and the back! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I think Diane has a style all her own! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I couldn’t copy her cards if I tried!ย  I’ve held her cards in my hand, taken lots of photos, I still don’t believe I could make cards like hers!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere’s one of what Diane calls her “regular cards”.ย  Beautiful paper and an image from her garden:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAย SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

The inside, with what I’m sure is another photo from her garden, and an envelope:)

Another “regular card” and the inside:)ย  Diane’s cards just make me happy! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I can imagine her going to her garden and taking photos to share with our kids and their families:)

One more! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAย  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAFront and back of the envelope:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERACard front, isn’t this so cute?!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAย  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThe inside and the back:)ย  Don’t like cats?ย  That’s ok, next time you can see her dogs! ๐Ÿ˜‰

I hope you enjoyed the cards today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Thanks for coming by, I hope to see you again soon! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAS4Kids Easter/Spring with Guest

It’s Easter/Spring cards over at Send A Smile 4 Kids! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Maybe you’re thinking it’s too late to send in Easter cards:(ย  Not for my location! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I have until March 23rd to get my box in.ย  So if you’re done with your cards, or if you’re almost done, please send them in! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  If you still want to send them in, go ahead, I’ll save them until next year:)

If you’re just starting your Easter cards and you’re looking for inspiration, I’ve got some! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Today my guest is Holly Blaskie from MI.ย  I’ve shown some of Holly’s cards before, she does a wonderful job with colors, papers and themes! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I love the way she can use the same supplies and make cards that look really different, yet similar:) Lets see how many I can fit in today:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAFour cards almost exactly the same.ย  See how just the different colors, can make the cards feel different?ย  Cardstock and Washi tape, I bet the kids will love them! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAHere are two different layouts with the same paper.ย  I think they have a completely different feel.ย  The eggs feel like a younger child, and the flowers feel like an older child, maybe a parent.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERASAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI get the same feeling from these two cards.ย  I don’t know if that was Holly’s intention, but she sure did a great job! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  These are wonderful cards with thought and effort put into every one!ย  I know the kids will love all of these cards, no matter which one they get! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks to Holly for allowing me to share her beautiful cards with you all today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Check out the SAS4Kids blog challenge page! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  You can see more samples of cards for our kids:)ย  My location is the only Hospital right now accepting religious cards.ย  Always upbeat and cheerful, please no Angels waiting at the gates of Heaven.ย  Suggested sentiments:ย  Praying for you, Hugs & Prayers, You’re in my thoughts and prayers, all are good sentiments.ย  I will accept cheerful animal angels, such as cats, or bears.

Praying Birdie

This image is available at Doodle Pantry, very cute:)

This image is available at Fred She Said Designs.ย  Fred She Said is only taking email orders right now, but you can still get it.

These are both digital artwork and are downloadable to print out on your own printer.ย  Just suggestions on cheerful angels and prayers.

Thank you for coming by today!ย  I will be back by soon with some more Easter cards:)

Freshly Made Sketches #82

Two cards in one day!ย  I know, I have to make them when I have the time;) I was actually up very late last night making cards…..couldn’t sleep:(ย  This card is for the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. ย  I will also be putting it into the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids and sending it off:)ย  The Mother’s Day challenge just ended and they are on to Birthdays, check it out! ๐Ÿ™‚

Here is the sketch for this weeks Freshly Made challenge:

FMS Final 82-001Here’s my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1I personally love this card….so cheerful and Springy:)ย  My pre-colored digital images are from Fred She Said, of course;)ย  I used three different sets here.ย  The pink paper with the flowers is a new collaboration between Fred She Said and Bearly Mine Designs.ย  The set is called, FSS-BMD Floral Surprise Papers Set, it hasย beautiful papers full of flowers! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I also used Wee Hummingbird & Petuniasย  and Hibiscus. ย I took the Hibiscus to my Print Shop program, flipped it, printed it, cut it out and then popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, the Wee Hummingbird is also popped up.

I used Stampin’ Up! Soft Suede and Garden Green cardstock.ย  The Garden Green was run through my Big Shot using the new Stampin’ Up! Needlepoint Border embossing folder. You can’t tell very well this size, but if you enlarge the photo you can see that I used SU Dazzling Details to highlight a couple of the flowers and all over the pink paper. Lastly I used a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! set Teeny Tiny Wishes, one of my favorite sets! I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line it up perfectly;)

Another card with quite a few steps, but still Simply Made๐Ÿ˜‰ย  I hope you like this card:)

Thanks for stopping by again today, I’m always happy to have you! ๐Ÿ™‚

Freshly Made Sketches #81

“Baby” (almost 2) Lawrence took a nice nap today, and I stayed awake!ย  I really wanted to make two more cards!ย  Today’s cards are for the challenge Freshly Made Sketches #81. ย I’d still like to try and get one more card done, or at least started tonight, so here is the sketch this week:

FMS Final 81-001I have two cards today, so be sure to scroll to the end:)ย  Here is my first card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card2Both the cards today will be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 Kids.ย  They also have a challenge blog with prizes! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Be sure to check them out! ๐Ÿ™‚

Lots of Stampin’ Up! products used today on both cards, but both images are from Fred She Said.ย  This first image is from a set called Wee Hummingbird & Petunias. ย There is a un-colored digi set and a pre-colored set.ย  You probably have already guessed that I used the pre-colored set;)ย  There are 7 different colors of flowers and also images of the flowers and birds separately.

I used Garden Green fromย  a Stampin’ Up! paper pack, and plain Daffodil Delight.ย  I also used glue from Stampin’ Up! and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop up my sentiment and main image.ย  The little yellow gems were in my stash of craft items.

Now for my second card, you can also click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card3Another beautiful pre-colored image from Fred She Said!ย  This image is from a set called Hummingbird & Columbine, you can get the images pre-colored or black and white to color yourself.ย  There are three different colors of flowers and also images of just flowers or just birds.

More Stampin’ Up! papers:)ย  The blue polka dots are from a paper pack of Bright colors, I also used Bashful Blue and Pacific Point.ย  The leaves on the left are from a Stampin’ Up! Little Leaves Sizzlits die.

Thanks for coming by today!

Friday Mashup #104

Yay, I received an honor by being chosen this week, not as the winner, but as a runner up.ย  Still very much an honor:)ย  Here’s my badge:

It rained today, but that’s good…..it didn’t snow!!ย  The birds are also making some hanky panky, so Spring must be around the corner…….right?ย ย  This card fits right in with the weather today.

Here is the challenge for this week over at the Friday Mashup:

FM104

Here’s your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project using an “Umbrella Image”.
  2. Create a “Double Z Fold Card”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a “Double Z Fold Card with an Umbrella Image”.

I didn’t mash it up this week, just used the umbrella image.ย  This card will also be going in the box for Send A Smile 4 kids.ย  The sentiment reads: “Every storm cloud runs out of rain eventually”.

I couldn’t find an umbrella on my favorite Fred She Said site, so I had to go find one somewhere else:(ย  Luckily, I found this very cute image:

Half-fold Card2

It comes with the cloud paper and a few other things:)ย  I found it over at Clear Dollar Stamps, appropriately called Rainy Day.ย  Yes, it’s pre-colored;)ย  You may remember that I am pretty hopeless at coloring.

I used the same sketch as my last card, it worked well, I think:)ย  I used Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Delight, my favorite yellow:)ย  Stampin’ Up! embossing folder and Spellbinders dies.ย  A very simply made card:)

I don’t make just digital cards.ย  All the elements for this card were printed on my favorite paper from Target, photo project paper, matte.ย  I believe it’s a store brand, it has a big green arrow in the bottom left corner that says up & up.ย  I print my images on the brochure, matte setting.ย  I then cut everything out and assemble it with glue, tape and or pop-ups.ย  For this card, I used all three;)

Thanks for coming by today! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  I hope to have my next card in a couple, few days, see you then! ๐Ÿ™‚

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOf course, I used a Fred She Said digital image;)ย  This one is called ย Hummingbird & Columbine Pre-Coloured Set.ย  I used a precolored image, but it also comes ready to color yourself:)

This card was truly simply made!ย  I used a Stampin’ Up! embossing folder and a misc. rubber stamp.ย  All I had to do was print out the image and mount it all together:)ย  I did add some SU Dazzling Details to the bird throat to make it sparkle.ย  I’ve made one like this before, it’s so easy I decided to make another;)

So check out the Tuesday Throwdown, and enter for a chance to win a $20 Fred She Said gift certificate! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Also take a peek at the Fred She Said store and see all the wonderful images! ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Tracey’s kits come with lots of extras:)
