Merry Monday #166, SAS4Kids and guests

I have another card! 🙂  I think I’m catching up with my schedule……for right now anyway;)  We’ll see how it goes:)  So today, I have a card for Merry Monday #166.   This is a two week challenge for the Summer.  Finally, I’m not posting my card on the last day! 😉  Here’s their challenge for the next two weeks:

166I know, penguins are so cute! 🙂  However, if I have a penguin stamp, I have no idea where it is:(  But not to worry, I went over to Doodle Pantry and used a digital image:)  I actually made a special request for this set it’s called, Winter Birthday.  I have a number of birthdays during the Winter months, so I figured other people must too:)  Now with most of my cards going to Send A Smile 4 Kids, it’s really nice to have a Winter Birthday set:)  So here is my card for this challenge:

Isn’t this too cute! ?  The other main image in the set is a snowman with a birthday cake.  The set includes some patterned paper, some plain papers, and some embellishments.  I used the patterned paper, the solid papers, the sentiment and the penguin, all from the same set.  I printed the penguin on my matte photo paper, trimmed it to the size I wanted, and then ran it through my Big Shot with an embossing folder from Stampin’ Up! (retired).  This card has been approved by all my grandchildren, at least the ones that live with me;)

Oh, dear, I almost forgot!  I’m going to enter this card in the  ANTS IN MY PANTRY DIGITAL CHALLENGE 7, over at Doodle Pantry.  They’re have a Sale going on right now, so go check them out here! 🙂

Now, on to my first guest, Terri Rizzo.  Terri sent cards in to me for Send A Smile 4 Kids🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERALook at this cute card! 🙂  I don’t know where Terri got this image, but I think it’s great for kids!  Here is a photo of the back also.  It has a little pull out that holds the card upright! 🙂  So simple, yet I’ve never thought to do it!  I know one of our kids will love this for their birthday! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAAnother fun card from Terri:)  The one on the left looks like the cow and the words are both tipping over.  I wonder if she did that on purpose?

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERATerri definitely has a sense of humor:)  I know this image came from Doodle Pantry, but I looked everywhere and can’t find it in the store.  If I find it, I’ll update this post:)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAOne more from Doodle Pantry.  This one is called, Toy Truck Ants.  I own this set too, I love it! 🙂

I know all of these images came from Mo’s Digital Pencil.  They come b&w and you have to color them yourself.  The one on the left is bubbles boy.  The blue and red cards are Superduper Boy, and Superduper Girl.  I love all these cards!  Great cards for kids and wonderful coloring by Terri! 🙂

Just a few more cards, I want to squeeze in some cards from Bev Schoepke.

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA  SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAI don’t know where Bev got this cute ribbon, but I know she used the Cupcake Builder Punch from Stampin’ Up!  Too cute! 🙂

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAThis is a great card too:)  Nice bright colors:)  Bev sent multiples of each of these cards, she also sent some Christmas cards that I’ll share at another time.  Thank you Bev and Terri for a wonderful group of cards!:)  All cards are appreciated by me and the kids we serve at Send A Smile 4 Kids!! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  I hope you enjoyed all the cards I was able to share! 🙂  Hope to see you again soon:)

Friday Mashup #111

Okay, I have something different for this weeks Friday Mashup #111.  Here’s the challenge:

FM111

  1. Create a project using “your choice of a Neutral & a Splash of one Bright Color”.
  2. Create a project “using a Pencil (regular graphite #2)”.
  3. Or Mash it Up and create a project “using pencil & your choice of a neutral & a Splash of a Bright Color”.

Using a pencil, that’s something new and different;)  I decided to give it a try:)  I also decided to mash it up and use pencil, neutral and a splash of color.  My splash of color is Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point, I love blue! My black and white papers are from Stampin’ Up!s Night and Day collection (retired).  You can still get it in digital form and print it out:)  You don’t have to have My Digital Studio, you can use most any print program, I use Print Shop.  I do have MDS, but I don’t know how to import my non-Stampin’ Up! images to print on the same page:(  I’ll have to see if it can be done.

My main image is a digital image from Mo’s Digital Pencil, called Paul Texting.  I love Mo’s images, but most of you know, I am pretty hopeless at coloring:(  All of Mo’s images are black and white.  Anyway…I thought this image would be great colored with pencil, so here it is, you can click on it to make it larger:

Half-fold Card1So what do you think?  I’m going to be sending this card to Send A Smile 4 Kids.  I’m told they always need cards for teens, especially boys!  And it’s all colored with regular #2 pencil!  Ok, I love the way it turned out, I hope you like it too:)

If you follow me at all, you know I love Fred She Said Designs!  Well, guess what?  Fred is going to have a 5th anniversary sale, and a blog hop where someone will win some pretty nice prizes!

FSS-5th BDAY SALEPlus, there will be a blog hop where you will get to see lots of card samples! 🙂  I’ll be there, I’m already working on a card or two;)  The theme will be purple and/or flowers:)  Be sure to write it down, or head over to the Fred She Said blog and sign up for the newsletter.  The newsletter will keep you updated on new products, contests and sales! 🙂

Thanks for coming by today! 🙂  Lucky for you all that you can’t hear all the noise going on around me;)  My granddaughters are arguing over colored pebbles, the kind you put in flower vases.  They’re playing some kind of game and getting their pebbles mixed up.  If only we could solve wars by simply counting the pebbles up and dividing them equally!

Have a great weekend! 🙂

Freshly Made Sketches #43 with Mo Manning

A new week, another challenge:)  This card is for the Freshly Made Sketches, #43.  My image this week is from Mo Manning, at Mo’s Digital Pencil.  Believe it or not, I DID color this image myself! 🙂   Yes, I pulled out my Stampin’ Up! ink refill bottles and went to work with my Aqua Painter.  I’ll tell you how I did that in a minute;)  First, here is the sketch for this week:

My computer was down all day Tuesday:(  I had my image all colored and I had a different layout ready to work with….then my computer popped back on Wednesday and I found this sketch:)  This sketch worked much better for me, how lucky was that?  I wanted my image to be kinda big, so it wouldn’t be too difficult to color.  Yes, you all know by now I don’t color very well:(  As a matter of fact, Mo had this image colored as a sample, I just copied it, the colors I mean, not the card;)  I love the colors and they translate well into Stampin’ Up!  So here is my card, you can click on it to make it larger:

Isn’t it just the cutest Cheshire Cat?!  I only had to color about 8 images before I was satisfied!  Now onto how I did it.  I work on a glass mat for all my cardmaking.  I took a bottle of Melon Mambo and put 1 drop onto the glass mat.  I squeezed out some water from my Aqua Painter and mixed it up.  Full strength would be too dark!  I colored the Melon Mambo first and then the Pumpkin Pie. I did the branch last with Chocolate Chip the same way.  For the Wild Wasabi, I used a stamp pad and just tapped it a few times onto my mat and added water. It’s so simple:) And it all cleans up with a paper towel and a little more water;)

I tried to work carefully and slowly, but even still, I kept getting pink in the orange or the other way around:(  And the teeth, oh my, trying to keep the teeth from being Pumpkin Pie colored was difficult.  I had started with some smaller images and then just enlarged them. LOL  I know, it’s a simple image, but I’m very picky, that’s one of the reasons I don’t color often.

Sorry, I seem to be a bit chatty today:(  Anyway…..I will have a full list of supplies below.

Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my card:)  I hope you all have a great week!
